I'd about given up on getting vaccinated altogether when a friend mentioned she thought Hancock's Pharmacy had the J&J vaccine on hand. I called to see if they had it, and if so, to make an appointment. The pharmacist I spoke to confirmed they did indeed have the J&J on hand and in fact it was the ONLY one they offered. I then asked to make an appointment and was told they're doing walk-ins! Holy macaroni! That's almost TOO easy after all the BS I got everywhere else. I drove up the 7 miles, walked in, filled out a couple of forms, and abra cadabra, I was one and DONE! They kept me seated for 15 minutes to be sure I had no adverse reactions and off I went. If my part D prescription plan used Hancock's Pharmacy, I'd use them for certain. They even had a better selection of greeting cards than Walgreens or CVS! THANK YOU my local pharmacy! My husband got in the car and drove to Walgreens and he got there at 6:58. They had put the gates down and he rattled the gates and didn't find anybody. I had called them when he was on his way and said that he was on his way. They didn't even have the courtesy to wait till he showed up so I could get my prescriptions. They had closed earlier than 7. I have changed my prescriptions and I'm now going to use CVS on Washington Street in Middletown. That was the worst customer service. It was easy to navigate and the red box at the front was easy to use to check what the sale is on my items! Gio, the shift supervisor, assisted us at checkout and took care of everything smoothly. Our checkout was lengthy so he was able to assist other guests at self checkout and coordinated other associates to help guests in line. I was calling from an office and ringing the pharmacy on four lines. They ignored them all. There are a half-dozen other CVS stores nearby. This location would be better off bulldozed and turned into a community garden. Without a doubt, the single worst pharmacy I have ever encountered--their understaffing (CVS policy is to understaff, and was even pre-COVID) leads to mistakes--a public health problem when the pharmacy is underequipped to safely and adequately serve its community.

All 4 people in the pharmacy looked at us and did nothing. The woman in the front waited over 25 minutes while the whole pharmacy ignored the drive thru and the line. After 35 minutes it was my turn. I asked for a flu shot, and they said they were going to lunch at 1:30. I advised it was only 1:05 and my conversation the day prior. She said the pharmacist doesn't want to do it today and to reschedule. I asked where. She said online. I went to Stop and a shop and got right in. Wife went later in day. Woman in front of her waited for an hour after her appointment to be seen. Pharmacist said they were "really busy". It was just the two of them with no one in drive thru. Wife waited 50 minutes for a vaccination. New pharmacist is slow and unwilling to factor bedside manner in with patients. Staff cares only about lunchtime. Will be moving to another Pharmacy after 30 years.
