Today our trip here was for donations to the Friendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington! This store in particular has a large variety of various food items so we were able to grab a good amount of non perishable items. The store is put together very well and organized. It was easy to navigate and the red box at the front was easy to use to check what the sale is on my items! Gio, the shift supervisor, assisted us at checkout and took care of everything smoothly. Our checkout was lengthy so he was able to assist other guests at self checkout and coordinated other associates to help guests in line. Slowest drive through line ever, EVERY time. At least half an hour. Consistently awful service

Just waited in line in the drive thru only to be told to come inside. Go inside to the drop off window as instructed by the drive thru only to be told it's all set and for me to now wait in the pick up window to pay and pick it up. CVS N. Colony Rd., Wallingford. I was traveling from out of state and needed to get a carryover prescription for a day or two. I had my doctor call in the prescription and since it was not up for refill, Insurence would not cover. I was charged over $60 for a few pills to carry me for a few days. I felt that the pharmacy could've given me a few pills as a courtesy since this was done in the past by Walgreens.. when companies put profit over people it is not ethical or good business . Overall, this was a poor experience and does not make me want to return to any CVS pharmacy in the future. read more

They are the absolute worst pharmacy. They made fun of my sick child's name, IN FRONT OF HIM. Aside from having bottom of the barrel customer service, they take forever to do anything. Doesn't matter if you go inside or through the drive through (they'll ask you to drive around and wait through the line all over again) cause they can't get it together. Called three times waited 20 minutes each time to speak to a pharmacy representative, no luck, called the front cashier, they said they were shorthanded, this is extremely mismanaged staff. Once again this pharmacy has failed at customer service. They seem to get worse not better at their Pharmacy and interactions with the public. I proceed to pick up blood slips for diabetes to which my MD called in on Tuesday. I am in line 7 people long they tell me sorry we don't have enough to dispense. Ok, well I am a diabetic I need them to test my blood and because I had to be firm and state that's unacceptable. The desk clerk walks away comes back and says they will be ready at 11:00 when I am in line for 20 minutes aslready and now will have to return 1/2 hour later. Why does this Pharmacy stay in business at this address in Wallingford????? They are horrible to every consumer. Young, middle age and older. Stock is nil, shelves bare and now this rudeness and inefficient behavior to a customer! Wow! Addendum: I return at 11:00 now 12 people deep... To only be told by a rude female horrible pharmacy staff employee that they cannot fill my RX and I'll have to return on Monday!!!! Imagine the nerve and soul of this CVS pharmacy staff. Is this CVS or DMV? Unfortunately, since I wrote my initial review, all of the things others have said about this CVS seem to be all too true. Agonizingly long wait just get TO the ONE person manning the walk up at the pharmacy.... then, an inordinately long time for them to shuffle around and come back to tell you, "it's not ready, yet. Can you come back in 15-20 minutes?" This after already waiting a ridiculous length of time. INEXCUSABLE! As I went around the store to pick up other items on my list while I was "waiting" AGAIN, I found almost none of what I needed on the shelves. After this fiasco, I ended up at Walgreens, about 2-1/2 miles south on Rt.5, & 15 minutes to get there. At least Walgreens had the off the shelf items I needed. I'll tell my doctor to send the script to Walgreens next time. read more

There is a reason why this pharmacy has a bad rating, and it all comes down to competence; competence comes with good management and this place lacks it, and has lacked it ever since we had to start using them (because our insurance made us.) It is a joke, that when we switched from Walgreens pharmacy, it took cvs months before they finally entered in our insurance information, the correct way; now we switch insurance again and that same incompetence is still, alive and well. We waited in line tonight (at the drive through) for 1/2 of an hour, and when we finally got to the window, they didn't have our insurance info, which, we had already given to them. You could tell that the kid working the window, had no clue as to what he was doing - and he is handling pharmaceuticals. Now that we can switch pharmacies, we will be switching pharmacies, and all of our non-pharmacy needs, as well. My suggestion is, if you like: hassles, incompetence, long waits, and high prices - then this is the place for you. You've heard the phrase "Fecal matter runs down hill", well it's true, incompetence starts at the top. Good riddance, to bad rubbish, but I can see that the way business management runs, you could care less whether we shop with you, or not. Never in my 38 years of adulthood have I dealt with a pharmacy worse than this one. 3 years of miserable service, and finally we are free. read more

Pharmacies are overwhelmed right now and CVS is no exception. After using Walgreens for 20 years over the past three years, I've been using CVS. A new pharmacist made an error with one of our prescriptions this week... Six days later it still hadn't been rectified. There was a woman working today who helped me at the consultation counter and she graciously and ever so swiftly corrected the error that had backed up this prescription for six days, including numerous calls to the doctor and the pharmacy. She filled the prescription for me on the spot after she realized what the error was, even though she wasn't responsible for it. Her quick action, and the grace she showed made up for all the aggravation and I would still choose CVS over Walgreens. They are doing the absolute best they can for us. read more

Horrible customer service! Rudest pharmacy staff I have ever encountered in my life! Never has enough stock to fill my prescriptions which I get 3 months worth at a time due to my insurance. I am made to wait DAYS waiting for their delivery and have become ill on numerous occasions. One of the pharmacists actually hung up in my face because I could not understand her due to a heavy accent! They are beyond unprofessional and I am actually fearful of the utter negligence. Unfortunately I am stuck with CVS because of my insurance, but I cannot stress enough to be diligent in checking your medications and possible interactions because this particular staff will absolutely NOT!! I had a vaccine apt scheduled for 10. I checked in online as written. I waited 15 mins at the seating area. I went to the desk and asked why I haven't been seen. the tech said "go to the other desk and check in with the pharmacist.".. I did that, the pharmacist then said "I didn't know if you were here and I'm waiting for the medicine to thaw, the fridge was out of stock." ..... why would you make someone wait even more on their own clock when this is something YOU should've prepared for? now I have to scramble to get ready for work, which is a half hour drive! read more

Consistently the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my 48 years on this earth. I will never have my scripts sent here again. Unreliable, always rude! The average wait time in the pick up line is 25 to sometimes 40 minutes! Many times I have left not even getting my medication even though their app says it's there waiting. It blows when your insurance only allows the crappiest of pharmacies. But don't even bother coming to this one. As I write this I've been sitting in line for about 15 minutes. There's 2 people here. They have the drive thru closed. If anything it should be front closed drive thru open with how long you need to wait. No smiles. No hellos. Horendous customer service. I have never had people treat me like this. I had an issue and wanted to meet with someone - waited at consulting and was completely ignored. Then waited in line and asked for someone to meet with me. I was smiling and the individual meeting with me clearly did not want to talk with me. She stayed back from the partition and was difficult to hear. She was clearly agravated when I asked her questions and as soon as there was a pause in the conversation she started to back away. I asked her another question and she haltingly came semi closer. I felt I had to yell to get her to hear me - thank goodness it wasn't a difficult or private conversation. The cashier wasn't much better - when I apologized for holding up 1 person, she never responded. Her way of making me feel terrible. Terrible customer service, I came in to pick up my child's medicine at 9 pm, the Indian young girl at the pharmacy said I can't because she closed and shut the window thing right in front of my face! What a mean little twit! She was so lazy that she couldn't even stay for little bit. And that was for my child, what happened if my child needs that medicine right away to safe the live? This pharmacy is RIDICULOUS!!!!... Saying they are "well stocked" is a JOKE!! I take care of my mother and all of her medications. She has suffered 2 stokes and has other serious medical issues. Her insurance is set up so that she gets 3 months of her medications at a time. She takes 7 medications, 2 of those are class 2. ALL of the other 5 medications there is never a problem with, but when it is time for the other 2 there is an issue EVERY 3 MONTHS FOR THE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS!!!! My poor mother is quite elderly and in a lot of pain, yet because of the people that abuse these medications the people who REALY NEED THEM are put through the ringer!!! They NEVER have enough, not once in almost 3 years!! My mom is so precise with her meds she has never run out even 1 day early. CVS Wallingford makes ME call around to all the other local CVS pharmacies to see if they can fill her scrips. (which is THEIR job!) I am a working mom and do not have the time to sit and call ALL the other pharmacies trying to get my ailing mother her medication, then travel out of my way and make my mother be without her meds for 2 - 3 days or until they can figure out how to keep their shelves stocked!! I am APPAULLED that the largest chain of pharmacies does not carry enough of their medications and makes truly sick people wait because of their incompetence! Drug abusers DO NOT go to pharmacies! So STOP making the REAL sick people suffer because of the people that abuse these medications! There has not been ONE time that there has not been an issue and I am tired of watching my mother suffer and be put through hell each and every time she needs a refil! CVS needs to get it together!! There are a lot of people who take these meds, obviously (because they are ALWAYS out!) So take that into consideration and KEEP YOU'RE SHELVES STOCKED! You are not a "mom & pop" corner drugstore!!!! As of yesterday I have been on the phone back and forth attempting to get her meds AGAIN, which were due to be refilled 2 days ago. The exact same thing happened on April 11th when her other class 2 medication was due to be refilled!!! This is the worst CVS. The line is always out the door for the pharmacy, my scripts are always messed up. I am currently standing and waiting for them to fill a prescription that was called in but they put on hold for no reason. I usually drive all the way out to Cheshire and now I remember why. Prices are unbelievably high.aside from that a tall young black counterperson couldn't be any less friendly. I wish I got his name.( I was there about 6pm on Tuesday July 14)..This guy acted like he didn't want to be bothered ringing up my order..which was in excess of 50.00, but only four of five items..I was so put off by his attitude that I gathered my things and brought them to the self check out..a few weeks ago I was there and this a girl called me up to ring my order up then promptly vanished from the counter..this same tall young black employee was working the counter with her and pretended not to see me there waiting for the girl to return.... he proceeded to call up the next customer from line while I stood there waiting for the "vanishing act" to return..he definitely saw me there since he was only about four feet from me.....the girl didn't come back until this guy had rung up two other customers while I stood there waiting..another customer turned to me and joked about the girl calling me up then leaving me feeling completely invisible while waiting there. the black employee continued to take other customers from line even after hearing the other customer call attention to the fact that I was there being ignored.bad customer service,high prices and very lazy customer-dodging employees read more
