This is a typical CVS. They have a mixture of really friendly people and some others that are hard to find - like Home Depot in Honolulu. You cannot find them when you need them. But one worker is not only friendly, he goes out of his way to help you. I found out his name is Trey. Not only does he try to help, he goes above and beyond and searches the back and even scrutinizes what he finds to make sure it's the correct item. This CVS pharmacy is a little disorganized, but ok. A few months ago, my friend's doctor called in a prescription at noon and we were picking it up at 2p, but they said they didn't get it. We had to call the doctor back, and because the pharmacy was closed for lunch during that time, they left a message. The pharmacy said they didn't check their messages yet. We had to wait about half hour before they got to our message, then they said they had to call the doctor back for verification. This process took about another half hour while my friend needed the medication immediately. Happy New Year! To start the new year, I called to get my covid shot since online didn't have any to schedule that same day. They are one of the few pharmacies that carries pfizer, and it took a while before they answered the phone. After verifying that they are still available for walk ins, I was able to walk in and complete the forms right away, and the staff looked really busy. I had to wait about 15 minutes before the pharmacist was ready to give me the vaccine. I found that it is faster and easier to communicate with this pharmacy in person than by phone. The pharmacist was friendly, and the shot wasn't too bad. I think I would go this pharmacy only if I needed to. Their wait time is longer than other CVS pharmacies, and they're poor in answering their phone or checking their phone messages. Service - they are nice. Parking - lots since they are in the salt lake shopping center. read more

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT CVS/ LONGS MOILIILI? I get a text saying my prescriptions are ready. I go online to pay and see that my prescription, that usually costs $50 is now over $2000.00!! It happened before with another prescription that usually costs $25, they were charging me $400 plus!! I work for the state, nothing has changed, same HMSA AND CAREMARK!! WHAT'S GOING ON?? Is this the way you conduct business? I can't imagine what would make CVS think that I would pay that HUGE price difference. Went to pickup my medicine and to buy sale items and asked a clerk for back stock and she replied coming in on todays trailer which happens on every ad !!! Proceeded to pay and the same clerk approached me and kindly offered to ring me up and gave me a $5 coupon for the out of stock item! Needed a prescription filled & they had it out to me fast. They also helped me find the many odd medical items I needed for my medical kit for our sailboat so we could take care of any injury at sea. The staff was very nice to me. I agree that I hate seeing one company take over all the pharmacies on the island. I always liked Walgreens or Longs over CVS but that needs a law to change that. I wish they would change the names and be honest. I routed to CVS trying to return something and ended at Longs. Thinking the GPS made a mistake, I routed to another with the same result. The only reason this pharmacy is where I go is because it is on the way to work. But Not sure if it's the CVS system that's terrible or if it's the pharmacy itself, but I don't recommend that you go here for the following reasons. 1. They will forget to tell you that they need extra information or that they had a glitch with your medication. You'll get a phone call saying your meds are ready, then when you go they say they need to clear it with insurance or something. 2. I've had this happen a handful of times. Doctor will tell me they called a prescription in. Next day I stop by to pick it up. Pharmacy says they never got the prescription from the doc. I argue. They check their computers and find out they DID get the prescription but the med wasn't available and I'd have to wait a few more days. They "meant to call me" to inform me. 3. They staple their med packages together and then scan. So then they miss scanning some meds in the back of the stapled pack. Which either totally throws off their crazy annoying automated call back reordering program or insurance coverage. 4. Twice they insisted they gave me my meds when they didn't. Again I think it's because they're lax with their system of checking their meds (who staples med packets together anyway?) so they probably checked it off somewhere down the line as given. But my doc couldn't re-order it now because insurance said it was given and won't cover a new order for the same meds so soon. So, my doctor, frustrated with this pharmacy (he says it happens often at this pharmacy) just ordered me a different kind of generic allergy medication rather than argue with the pharmacy. 5. My common Chinese last name gets mixed up with other names. They've mistakenly given me other people's meds and vice versa. What is scary is that a lot of ESL people come here. Older ones at that. If I have this much problems with just a few meds imagine what it's like for the older immigrants who come here needing a lot of meds. It must be a nightmare. read more

I didn't believe my doctor's office when they told me the Salt Lake CVS/Long's Pharmacy is the worse, but now I do!!! Aside from the usual long lines, the customer service from the employees is terrible. There is one female there who's name starts with an M who is extremely rude and makes you feel it's a burden to ask any questions questions. If you don't mind the drive, I would make the trek to the Kalihi or Pearlridge locations and AVOID THE CVS PHARMACY LOCATED IN SALT LAKE (Ala Lilikoi St). It'll be worth it...trust me. read more

I would actually give no star at all. CVS PHARMACY is buying every pharmacy on the island, they're now in Target pharmacy and I feel that caution is very important, the Salt Lake Pharmacy Manager put me in the Emergency Room! My doctors office manager never makes mistakes, never! I needed to refill a medication that is essential to my life. She called on a Friday, they're closed through the weekend and Mondays. I kept calling the pharmacy and JONATHAN YIM THE MANAGER denied that anyone in his staff had spoken to my doctors office. I asked my doctors office to please call again, she called 3 times that day and sent faxes for the medication to be filled. I continued to call the pharmacy at the time I didn't know that JONATHAN YIM PHARMACY MANAGER AT SALT LAKE HAD TAKEN EVERY PHONE CALL AND RECEIVED THE FAXES! I ran out of my medication and I had to go to the Emergency Room for just enough medication to last until Tuesday. I knew something was wrong and I spoke to the island Manager of every pharmacy of CVS PHARMACY. He is a doctor himself, of course with JONATHAN YIM DENYING THAT NOT ONLY HAD MY DOCTORS OFFICE CALLED 3 TIMES nothing could be done. I found out that JONATHAN YIM HIMSELF TOOK EVERY SINGLE CALL AND FOR THE SAKE OF BEING PETTY HE LIED ABOUT RECEIVING THE CALLS. I was so upset, he simply admitted that he took the calls and gave no reason why he lied to me. I went up through the corporate office to talk about this shocking and unethical behavior. They did absolutely nothing. They're big and I am small, why bother to take action. In fact that horrible man JONATHAN YIM THE MANAGER OF THE SALT LAKE PHARMACY, PUNISHED ME!!!!! I didn't find out what he did until later. I found a wonderful pharmacy that delivers. I had to fill a prescription for my mom and the Salt Lake Pharmacy was close and stocked the medication my mom needed. I am her only caregiver at present and I am disabled too. I called the CVS pharmacy and spoke to someone else who was nice and helpful. But when I called back to see if the medication was ready, JONATHAN YIM ANSWERED THE PHONE AND I FOUND OUT THAT HE BANNED ME FROM THAT PHARMACY!!!!! I DID NOTHING WRONG!!! He was at fault and I get banned from the pharmacy. My mom had just gotten home from the hospital that very day and I didn't want to leave her alone too long, that is the only reason I went to that horrible pharmacy for help. I URGE YOU TO REALIZE THAT CVS IS NOT LONGS, BUT THEY CERTAINLY GO TO GREAT LENGTHS TO KEEP THE ILLUSION OF LONGS. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I HAVE HEARD THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY VICTIM OF UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR FROM THE CVS PHARMACY. Educate yourself about the laws, not the pharmacy policies, but the law! Did you know that pharmacies can make their own rules regarding when you can pick up medication and they are not at all honest with you about your medication. A lie by omission is still a lie. Pharmacists don't like it when doctors do things that a pharmacist doesn't like. They have a feeling of impotence being told what to do. I educate myself. The medical profession has forgotten that they work for us and part of the job is compassion and honesty. ARE YOU, WE GOING TO BE BLIND, AND LET A BIG COMPANY THAT IS UNETHICAL AND DOES LIE,DOES HURT YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE? I am very very worried about the power that CVS PHARMACY HAS. THE MANAGER HIMSELF FIRST DENIED THAT HE RECEIVED EVERY PHONE CALL AND THEN ADMITTED THAT HE TOOK THE CALLS AND GAVE NO REASON, APOLOGY AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE DID NOTHING! Is that what you are going to allow? Far too often we have been trained to listen to anyone in a uniform or a title. I really really hope that we snap out of it!!! Don't roll over and take it. We live in a time that any information is available to us. Question everything! What choices do we have? If we take a stand now we have choices.
