If I could give this pharmacy 0 stars I would. I would rather pour acid into my eyes and jump into a sea of flesh eating bacteria than deal with the incompetent pharmacy staff at this local CVS. To be honest, calling these people incompetent is an insult to incompetent people. Useless would be a more fitting description, since incompetent people can actually do their job at least somewhat correctly. The pharmacy staff here have zero regard for the patients they dispense medication to, often being extremely unhelpful: saying prescription medication names out loud (not respecting patient privacy), lying about when prescriptions are ready (and thus wasting the time of the people lining up to pick up their meds), or just ordering the wrong prescriptions for their patients and giving a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ as a response for their ridiculous mistakes, while the patient who is in horrible pain or is dealing with a debilitating condition (and requires meds) stares back at the useless masses of carbon sitting behind the register. CVS regional management should seriously consider firing the pharmacy techs and the rest of the pharmacy staff to improve customer service for patients. This has to be the worst customer service experience EVER!!! I just got switched over from Walgreens because my insurance no longer is covered there. They take forever and seem to have a lack systems to handle the work load they have. My Dr. Office had to make multiple calls (and even made one as I stood in his office) and they claimed my Dr.'s office hadn't sent it over. As I stood in line a girl (that looks and acts like she's heavily medicated) is screaming at her co-workers because there was two helping people in the "Order" line and no one in the "Pick up Line". I happen to be in 3 rd person in the "Order Line" and the people in the "Pick up Line" had been there for a much shorter time then any of us had been in the "Order" line. There were many things that bothered me about today's experience, but none more then the Girl literally screaming at her co-workers, it was very uncomfortable and made it a very stressful and hostile environment for even me. Makes me think if they are filling the prescriptions correctly under such leadership????? I'm going to drive further for my medication from now on, I don't trust that this place is being run well and the girl in-charge is a huge liability. CVS, please do something with this Pharmacy Dept. as this is a very very bad representation of your brand. read more

I've always had good service. They are very busy, but they seem well organized. I seldom have a long wait for Rx (I usually go late morning). The staff are friendly. They generally have more patience than I would have. The pharmacist is helpful in answering questions about meds without much of a wait. The only glitches I have had are when insurance won't pay. The staff usually resubmit while I am there and sometimes they get a better result or they have suggestions for alternative meds. Their "renew by phone" service is very efficient. read more

My experience at the Goleta CVS Pharmacy (at 5875 Calle Real) was extremely positive, which was all the more appreciated following a very poor experience at the Turnpike CVS Pharmacy. At the Turnpike CVS, the pharmacist and cashier expressed no sense of pride in their work or interest in the concept of customer service. The attitude at the Goleta/Calle Real CVS Pharmacy, however, was entirely different. Everyone, from the pharmacist to the assistants and cashiers, was pleasant, helpful, patient and responsive to customer needs. I highly recommend the Goleta/Calle Real CVS Pharmacy. read more

The pharmacy staff are unorganized and dishonest. I have never had a worst experience. I called and asked them to refill a prescription and it was not ready when I went to pick it up. Then I waited for them to fill it as a "walk in" and then after an hour of waiting they told me they couldn't fill it at all because I was out of refills. I had my mother go to a different CVS. They filled the prescription just fine. The CVS pharmacy in Bird Rock, La Jolla, CA is wonderful. Top notch staff. read more

Too bad this is the only one near where my student son lives, and I gather they don't have a drive-thru like we have here. He was out of his medication and asked for a refill. He was told that the doctor wouldn't refill it until he saw her, and his doctor is located near his home, not near his school. I told him he should ask to get enough medication to last until he can speak with his doctor, since it was a weekend. He shouldn't have to go without medication, and the pharmacist should have asked him if he had enough and needed an emergency supply. So, I called up and asked for a manager, and none was available, but I raised Hell and obviously spoke to a different person than my son did, who told me that he had another prescription that had refills left - which the other employee obviously didn't even bother to notice, and his refill would be ready in half an hour. Run as far away as possible from this place. Went in there to pick up pain pills for my mother who has a rod in her back and has had two strokes. The prescription has to be walked in because of what it is. I told the staff member I would need it ASAP and I would be waiting for it, she told me 20-30 minutes. I went back to the counter at the 30 minute mark because I thought I had missed the call out, nope. Staff member told me she would "EXPIDITE IT", 30 minutes later I walked out with nothing to show for that wasted hour of my life. This is not the first time they have left us waiting or called us in only to find out they haven't filled an RX. F these people. There are sick seniors that have to suffer the consequences of their laziness. read more

If I could go somewhere else, I absolutely would. Refilling a simple prescription shouldn't have kept me there for 1.5 hours, and some of the staff was helpful, but I keep seeing scatterbrained be used to describe people's impression of the pharmacy and I'd agree. read more

First time here, don't know what everyone is complaining about. The girl who helped me, Samantha, was super helpful. She helped me figure out my insurance coverage since it was my first time not going through my UC health insurance and even helped me find another CVS when she realized that this particular one didn't have enough of my prescription. while I applaud them for hiring an employee who obviously has some mental handicap, this guy Tom was the rudest person I have ever encountered in any business. When I asked for help finding something he tried to make me feel like an idiot. He passed himself off as a sales associate but I suspect he's a stock boy or someone who shouldn't be dealing with customers. They have lost my business that's for sure. read more

After a few attempts to pick up my Rx at this CVS and having to wait in an absurdly long and slow moving line I changed to the CVS on West Carrillo (much faster and better customer service). I returned to make a purchase this past week and encountered very rude customer service at the cashier. Most definitely not returning! This is perhaps the worst cvs in the area. read more

Be careful at this pharmacy! I have told the staff here that I do not want automatic refill and yet they keep trying to push medication on me! (almost as if they have a quota to fill) Most important check the bottom of your prescriptions! They have a bad habit of running your prescriptions though other insurance companies! Strange things happening here, personnel has changed and service has gone downhill! read more

Switched to Walgreens pharmacy about a year ago due to drug plan. Majority of times when picking up I am told they are either short or out of stock. Usually told to come back in a few days only to be told they are still short. Today after waiting in the drive-in for about 15 minutes I was told that I was holding up the line and either come in or circle back again to the end of the line. Went in and was completely ignored. Finally just left and I'm moving on. read more

Scary !! Two of my scripts were done incorrectly. A friend picked up my at one point and after got home we found out CVS had given me an extra script which wasnt due. Didnt take it back cuz already paid for it and was too pissed. When i did go back to talk to manager about all the mistakes i was told they were in process of hiring someone . I was also told that new manager wouldn't be able to help me because she wasnt there when incident occurred. Reported them to Pharmaceutical Board. read more

Used to go here to pick up meds for a friend, but asked them to please switch to someplace else. The pharmacy lines are SO long and the staff is overworked and not friendly. Plus the rest of the store has many empty shelves. Really sad! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. The pharmacy is terrible (ridiculously long lines, long wait lines even when you've been told your prescription will be ready in 10 minutes, rude/unhelpful staff; and forget about calling! I was on hold w/the pharmacy for 15 minutes and then hung up on). The store has a lot of stuff but is disorganized and it's hard to find a knowledgable staff person. If you can find one -- great! If not, just give up. Working on transferring my prescriptions somewhere else. read more

CVS has always been polite and helpful. Walgreens across the street no longer contracts with Athem Blue Cross HMO so they're charging way more. I'd walk across the street anyday to CVS to save $50 or more! read more

I have had an issue with this pharmacy every single time I have gone to get my prescription. I have never had an issue with getting my prescription before from any pharmacy, including other CVS's in different locations. The first time I went in, they could not find me in the system, so I had to talk to the supervisor, who didn't even make eye contact with me or stop what she was doing to help me, then had to go through a process of calling my insurance, etc. only to find that the reason I was not found in their system was because they spelled my last name incorrectly. The second time I went in, I was given a generic form of my medication, which I cannot take because I didn't react well to it, so they began specially ordering it. My prescription came on time the month after, but this month they ordered it late and I have now missed 2 days of my medication I am supposed to be taking on a schedule because it was ordered late, and it is now taking a toll on my body. I have called them multiple times with questions, and was told they would call me back with accurate information, but have never been called back once, so I have had to call AGAIN to get the information. I called three times today, and each time I got different information from each person. I was told that it would be ready at a certain time today, so I called again to make sure it was ready, only to find out that the warehouse had not even sent it out yet. I am overall extremely frustrated with this CVS and am going to be switching to a different pharmacy. read more
