Kevin at the pharmacy went above and beyond to fix my issue and call the other pharmacy that refilled my prescription to ask them to void it so I could pick up my refill here instead (I used to get it at CVS across the street and they're terrible, so I go here now). I took my 3-year-old son to get his flu shot and we had a delightful experience (after a traumatic experience for my 5-year-old two days earlier at CVS on 3939 State St). We didn't have an appointment that evening, but the pharmacists were friendly, and said they would accommodate us. We had to wait about 15 minutes but it wasn't bad given that they had plenty of chairs to sit on. When it was time for my son to get his shot, the nurse called us to a private room. She handed my son a small bag of treats to distract him, and used words of encouragement in a very sweet tone while administering the shot. My son flinched a little, but did not cry. After he got his flu shot, the nurse gave us a coupon to get a scoop of ice cream, which we did on our way out. My son and I were so delighted! The whole experience of getting a flu shot was so positive at this location, and because Rite Aid used positive reinforcement, I think my son will be more willing to get any vaccines/shots in the future. read more

In all fairness it is a Rite Aid so it's not like I expected anything special. However nearly every time that I go here it's to get my prescription filled and the pharmacy workers are always disgruntled. 9/10 times when I call to have the refill done, whoever answers the phone is rude and condescending. The past time she berated me for trying to pick up my prescription a tad early, saying my insurance wouldn't cover it. And then mid sentence she stopped and said "oh well I guess they will cover it". Then as I tried to ask how long until it was ready she quickly said "I don't know an hour" then hung up. The cashiers at the regular counter are nice enough and the pharmacist who gave me my flu shot was very kind. However, the rest of the pharmacy, save for a few, is in need of some morale boosting. read more

This is my go-to pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is always so helpful, especially Pharmacist Kevin and Assistant Stephanie! The Pharmacists always take the time to explain or answer questions when needed. I'd mention other longtime staff but haven't learned their names yet! Theo, on the front end of the store, is always a pleasure when checking out there. Other reasons that I like this pharmacy, is that the store is not gigantic yet has a nice selection of goods. I appreciate that they err on the side of caution when it comes to alcohol sales. Being 21 doesn't give someone the "right" to buy alcohol, it gives the store the option to sell it to customers. read more

For some reason this stores continues to have the worst customer service, starting at the pharmacy. It feels like they hate their jobs and the customers need to pay for their lack of patience. I always call a company if I'm going to post a review on Yelp, as I did in this case. Before posting I spoke to the Manager but she transferred my call to the Pharmacy, which did not help. After 9 minutes and 30 seconds of holding I hung up. It's not until you post a yelp review do I get a response. I don't have to shop there and won't bottom line. I'm sure your store will do well, until it doesn't. read more

This Rite Aid is really great and seems to be getting better. First, they are doing better at stocking their shelves. Second, if you shop there regularly and are member you can get 20% off every purchase . Third, ice cream for the kids is reasonable. Most importantly, their pharmacy is awesome. The employees are so helpful and I have found that they regularly go the extra mile for their customers. They also get to know you in a way that makes you feel like your living in a small town in the best possible way. I think they need to continue updating their store, but I know they will continue to improve. read more

There was a very long waiting when I called for a new prescription filled. However I was told I have to come to the store to do it. Driving to the store and the staff seems very grumpy and feels like they hate their jobs. They even don't know how to use the computer cause different one will tell you different story about your insurance and wether they have it or not. The worst pharmacy experience ever, especially when I saw the elder man who looks like in charge there yelling at the other customers rudely and harshly. It is extremely unprofessional and inhumanity. Terrible terrible service. don't waste your time and ruin your day there. read more

I'm shocked at the high ratings for this location. I've come here many many times and the ladies working the registers always look as if it's gonna kill them to scan your purchase and collect your money. Whenever they need to do a price check or get approval from the manager, they have the epitome of FML written on their faces. Seriously? And one of the ladies has snapped at me before too. If you don't like your job so much, just quit. Geez. It also doesn't help that some of the customers at this Rite Aid are CRANKY too. I came in yesterday and there was only one line that was getting pretty long. The manager called for back up and lady opened up a second register. Being at the end of the current line, I had the easiest access and I rushed over, and the lady who got in line after me commented how I wasn't even in line (implying I cut). Really, you old bird? I was at the end of the previous line - obviously you didn't see me, but I was in line. Anyways, I would avoid this location if I could, but apparently it is the only Rite Aid around the vicinity of UCSB. Doesn't matter anyways - for drugstores, I always go to CVS first. Before ending this tragic chapter, I will commend this one black gentleman who works here. Not sure if he's a manager or not, but he opened a second line once during a visit of mine when there was only one snaking long line, and he was polite and courteous. And looked like he actually wanted to do his job. I applaud you. read more

Customer service is terrible. Cashier John harassed my 18 year old daughter for buying Benadryl (while she was visibly covered in hives) She was carded and asked her birthdate several times. You do not have to be 18 to even buy Benadryl. Then my son who is 21 was not allowed to buy alcohol because his sister was with him. Both of which had valid legal California ID cards with the same last name and addresses. It would appear that this cashier was harassing them for being young adults. read more

Really hit or miss. Been in there to grab whatever (razors, batteries, shoelaces, etc.) and have been treated to smiles and helpful service or muttered responses and glares from the staff. What sets apart one Rite Aid from another is service. You know how it is. "Lets go to the GOOD one, not that one". Location is killer, but the management here needs to clamp down on workers who don't give a crap. No need to kiss my feet, but at least do your job. read more

These Guys are the Best! Cottage Hospital we were mistakenly told didn't stock my Daughter's Asthma medicine. Pharmacist Lindsey Hohmann went above and beyond to fill the RX for her. Sansum Clinic didn't forward the medication refill request to MD covering for Pulmonary PA who retired in August. Trying to reach on call MD on Sat wasn't easy. Today my daughter was discharged. My friend was helping me out. Unfortunately she dropped off my daughter's Scripts at CVS on Calle Real instead of Rite Aid on Fairview. Lindsey helped us out again and called CVS, transferred scripts and gave us what she had of RX for tonite and will order rest for tomorrow. I discovered the mistake 20 minutes before 6pm, closing. I doubt any other Pharmacist in Goleta besides Lindsey would've helped make sure my daughter got her RXs filled. She's a treasure! read more

This right aid is one of the worst I've ever been on. The store is very dirty and the do not have the proper stock of most items. I went in the buy travel size toiletries and was lucky to be able to find some toothpaste and a shampoo. The exterior of the building also had several loiterers smoking pot on the curb. I miss going to this Rite Aide since I moved from Goleta. The nearby CVS and Walgreens had nothing on them. They were always on top of things, rarely messed up my prescription and were the first to admit they read it wrong. Up front, all the workers were exhausted. A cold breeze from the doors straight to the checkout in winter didn't help their cause. Still, they attempted to be nice. The turnover once you hand off the prescription from drop off to pick up was always under 45 minutes; on average 25 minutes. They are an establishment that checks the ID for everyone in your party if you are buying alcohol so keep the underage ones in the car. read more

They don't honor patient privacy by loudly broadcasting your information for all to hear along with medication your picking up. Unprofessional, ungrateful & should not be working in a client services position within the medical field. I was treated horrible when I went in with my daughter for ice cream around 8:55pm on a Saturday night. I had been standing waiting for help, when 1 of the 2 cashiers yelled very rudely and said "Ice creams closed". As a customer I wanted to understand her reasoning, so I asked "why?". She stated "because we're busy, and ice cream closes at 9" I then said "it's 8:59?" Mind you I was in there, waiting 3-4 minutes with out any greeting or notice of them Being closed. I thought that it's an employees responsibility to help the customer up until the closing second. Also the store was intact not busy. At the point of conversation she had 2 people in line. I then asked to speak to a manger because of the Rudeness and shortness of conversation I was receiving. She claimed to be the manager, but I have a very hard time believing it because of the lack of professionalism and care for customers service. Please do better rite aid. read more

I really appreciate the pharmacist at this location. I have a dairy allergy and that can make it extremely difficult for me to find a "version" of a prescription that I can safely take...this pharmacy is always willing to help me read through the labeling and special order different formulations for me if needed. They also seem more likely to have a wider range of formulations in stock than other pharmacies in town. read more

I used to love this store! Now, be prepared for fairly long waits at the cash register, cranky staff and to not be able to get your purchases out to the car without the assistance of a staff member. I would give 1 star for the front end part of the store. I will maintain pharmacy services as this aspect of the store remains stellar, but I'll be going a bit further down the road to CVS for any other purchase. I would give the pharmacy and pharmacy staff 4 stars. Rite Aid, you have competition that has the same selection of products, equal or better prices and kinder staff and ya might want to start acting like it! read more

This is the worst pharmacy in town. The employees are never friendly and give off the vibe that they hate their lives and hate working there. On top of that they are terrible at their jobs, for instance when I (stupidly, despite everything) tried to transfer a prescription over to them, they said they would call after they talked to the other pharmacy and let me know what happened. Over a week went by and I never heard back. When I called to check in the VERY snotty woman on the other end of the line barked at me that they "don't carry that prescription here." Hum, why couldn't you tell me that last week, when I called?? What I'll be doing now, is transferring the prescription I do have there to somewhere else. There is absolutely no excuse for the slow checkout times at this store, it is simply incompetence. The only reason I give two stars instead of one is that they carry GNC stuff. That is also the only thing I will go there for. If there was a GNC close by, I wouldn't even go there for that. read more
