I have been going to this CVS store/ pharmacy since I moved here as it is very close to where I live and the most accessible as a disabled person. The pharmacy is seemingly quite short staffed. When I have called the pharmacy to ask a question/check a prescription, I have often waited on hold 30-45 minutes until the pharmacist answers the phone (sometimes with an attitude)! I was never on hold more than two minutes at the other CVS I I patronized where I used to live. Totally outrageous and difficult for a disabled person to be on hold that long. They also regularly forget to scan my insurance and I've accidentally paid more/retail price for my numerous prescriptions due to this error. I've also been forced to wait 5 days for a popular medication regularly filled to come in stock- forcing me to go without for days. How is that ok? Although there are 3 registers at the pharmacy there is ever only 1 person serving pharmacy customers. I am physically disabled and the line to the single register in use is often 10+ people deep and it is difficult to stand there in the aisle waiting for so long without chairs. The checkout machine asks so many questions about other services available that it's a process that takes far too long, adding extra time to an already lengthy checkout with loads of folks waiting. The receipt issued is miles long. You could encircle the moon with it at least once. How many forests were cleared just for CVS receipts in this country we'll never know. Now they finally have the option to email receipt but oddly I never actually receive it despite getting other emails. Most of the staff is helpful and friendly. The store itself is not that tidy, the bathroom could use improvement, and it has some outrageous markups on numerous cheap items (a cheap plastic broom here was $30! The broom of financial doom more like). This is not a frugal place to shop. Ample parking is always available. In short, this CVS does not impress. read more

I walked in asking the behind-the-pharmacy-counter employee at CVS for pen needles and they told me I needed a prediction, then sent me away. The pharmacist at the drug store across the street told me they don't know what they are talking about and sold me pen needles from behind the counter. If I had known better I would have argued with the CVS employee but this was my first time buying them. Now I know better the next time I'm in CVS looking for pen needles, which will be NEVER. read more

I was sent a $4 coupon, so thought I'd save buying ibuprofen pm. Cost for 200 tablets of generic 200 mg was 21.99. Went to counter to pay and there was no one at cash register or anywhere in this HUGE store except the pharmacists in the very back...turns out you have to press a button for service...finally someone shows up and I present my digital coupon, which doesn't work, so after cashier rolling his eyes at me he took my phone #, then processed the order...paid 19.56! Came home and looked it up on Amazon...$11.99 for 375 tablets of 500mg with free overnight shipping! I used to have my prescriptions filled at CVS, but figured out years ago that MUCH lower prices at Ralph's. Never again! read more

When I ran into a manufacturer delay with my prescription last week, she didn't just brush me off or tell me to wait--she immediately called me back, explained the situation, and even reached out to another pharmacy so I could get what I needed right away. (Thank you CVS Five Points!!) Working in a pharmacy is often a thankless job, but her professionalism, kindness, and effort really stood out. I ordered through CVS.com and picked up my order. The first problem was that the woman, Hispanic, 40's 50's, glasses, hair in ponytail, doesn't know anything about these types of orders. At that time, I asked about the bag fee and she just blew it off. Then I needed to return one item and could not find the return code online in my account or in my pick-up email. I took it to the store, it was the same woman, and she was even worse. Again, she doesn't know anything about online orders and acted like giving me a gift card was a huge favor on her part. I wrote CVS Customer Relations a complaint email in the store right then. Later, as I was leaving, I asked the young woman with the tattoos, Sandy, who's great, if she knew where the return code was. She said I'd have to contact CVS.com and then called the black guy, Erik over. I asked him about it and he went into a freaking meltdown. He got all hyperactive, started waving his hands in the air, raising his voice, and basically acting like a fool. In addition, he kept lying over and over that you couldn't return online orders in the store. INCORRECT. I offered to show him where it states that and he just got more abusive. I let him know he needed to work on his communication skills and he wouldn't stop so I advised him to shut up! Later, I found that the RETURN CODE IS AT THE END OF THE VERY LONG EMAIL ADVISING YOU THE PICK-UP ORDER IS READY. And, this information is nowhere on the web site at all. I called the manager at the store today, Miguel, and he was equally ignorant. He never apologized for Erik's outrageous behavior, kept trying to argue about the return policy and where the code is and to no surprise, was about the same level of conduct as his employees. I'm actually very disappointed that the employees here think they can be abusive to customers and it's good to go. This used to be my favorite location. read more

Had my my Covid (Moderna); Flu Shot (65+) and RSV vaccines all at the same time....Appointments were on time and staff was busy helping people resolve insurance issues and making calls for people so they could be seen with out delay. Was very nice to see people not being blown off to deal with carriers themselves as the landscape with carriers and pharmaceutical companies seems to be some weird tree that one mush pass through---if you are left handed, were born on an even numbered day in Iowa, and an odd numbered month--then your claim will be approved. It's too much for anyone to go through as an average person. Great service. read more

A prescription was sent to CVS on Calle Real on the morning of Monday, Dec 15th. My doctor had said it might take a couple of days for the pharmacy to receive the drug. I went to pick up the prescription on Thursday. It was not yet ready, come back in an hour, please. I went back 23 hours later, Friday morning, the prescription was not yet ready. I was now told that the drug had just been received. Come back in 30 minutes, please. It is now Saturday morning and you guessed it. No prescription! I was asked to wait 20 minutes while the prescription was prepared. I have other responsibilities and cannot wait and additional 20 minutes, already stood in line for 10 minutes. I will have to come back yet another time! Is the only way to get a prescription filled is to wait for it? Absurd and customer service has been totally lacking. read more

It really pains me to write this, as my first experience with this specific CVS pharmacy wasn't that bad. I know corporate is more to blame for understaffing and a poor workplace environment, but I just had an awful experience yesterday that it finally felt not worth it to go here anymore. Firstly, all CVS pharmacy's just recently changed their phone system. You can't contact the pharmacy directly anymore, but you can leave a voice message and hope they call you back. I sent a request for a refill for a prescription I've been taking for years now, as I have to do this every month. Usually it goes pretty smoothly, but this time my medication was out of stock. Funnily enough, I transferred my prescriptions from a different CVS in town because I had dealt with this same situation and that CVS requested I go here instead. I then send in a voice message asking if I could expect my prescription filled by a certain date, just so I can gauge how long I'll have to be off my medication. Despite the automated system saying I could expect a callback within an hour, they never actually responded. I don't mind waiting an entire day, but they never reached out. So I ended up going there in person to ask, and the Pharmacy Tech's were mostly really nice! However they couldn't answer my question, so they referred me to the main pharmacist. She proceeded to tell me that every CVS within a 30 mile radius doesn't have my medication and I should try somewhere else. This wasn't even the question I asked, and I just wanted to know when they would have it in stock at this specific location. I genuinely would've liked to know this beforehand because it would've saved a lot of waiting, as I can't transfer my prescription and have to ask my doctor to send in a new one. This process takes ages so it sucked to hear. I ended up getting my prescription filled super swiftly by another pharmacy in the area that I've enjoyed going to, albeit the higher costs on average for my prescriptions I paid $15 every month for this specific prescription at CVS, and just had to shell out $40 at the other pharmacy near by. It genuinely sucks that I have to pay so much extra because CVS has such bad problems with stocking, but at this point I think Id rather pay extra and stay with a pharmacy that cares about me. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because honestly I understand, most of it isn't their fault and CVS as a company sucks. This pharmacy has an insane amount of people constantly in line and I can't imagine the stress and angry people they have to endure everyday. read more

I came in for floss, face wash and toothbrushes. It was pretty easy to find and they had a bunch of coupons posted. It was clean and not that busy. Sometimes it gets so busy during the day and the line gets long super quick. One employee was quick to help me when my self checkout lane wouldn't let me use my coupon. He informed me that I had to punch in my cvs number before I started scanning items. He voided the transaction and helped me at the checkout lane. I love the little cute travel items they have while you stand in line, kinda enticing. I'd recommend coming in the evenings when it's chill. read more

This store is the worst. Today my wife ordered her prescription and was offered free Covid tests by the pharmacy. Once ready I went and picked up the prescription. This is where it goes sideways. The pharmacy said "You can get your free Covid tests up at the front." Perfect, I head to the front of the store and inquire. The clerk (who was just doing her job) has in her hand a bag of what I can only surmise, are our Covid tests however there is no name on them. She asks for my order number which I hand her a receipt that was handed to me by the pharmacy. Shortly thereafter, the manager on duty comes over and asks "do you have an order number." No, I'm following the instructions from the pharmacy to get the Covid tests they offered. The manager then goes to get the pharmacist who knows nothing about it. I collect my receipt and prescription and express my frustration as every time I go to cvs there is an issue. I wasn't quiet about it either. Upon me arriving at home my wife receives a text indicating our free Covid tests are ready to be picked up. Out of frustration with the situation, my wife calls the store to speak with the manager who remembers me (I guess I left an impression as I left loudly) who says he doesn't know why cvs is sending text messages about our free Covid tests and is absolutely zero help. If I could take stars away from this 1 star review and make it zero I would but this cvs is an absolute joke. Going to Walgreens or Costco from now on...and I hate the crowds at Costco if that tell you anything. read more

Perfectly reasonable CVS in Goleta. I stopped here to pick up some nail files and I ended up buying some candy too. They're good at that - putting all the fantastic looking holiday candy and holiday displays right there up front when you walk in. The lady at the counter was cheerful and professional. I would stop here again if I needed something and I was in this part of town. They had a good selection and had exactly what I was looking for. I have been trying to fill a perscription since 11/16/22 at Calle Laureles CVS with no success. So a friend gets their perscription filled at the Calle Real CVS so I thought I would give them a try. I waited on hold for 43 minutes before an associate answered to ask me to call back in the morning when a manager was available. This poor person was working alone! The unprofessionalism of CVS! Shame on you for treating your employees like this and your customers. Came in today for the second time to pick up a prescription I was promised by an employee here just to be told AGAIN they they didn't even have me in their system (aka they hadn't even started processing it). As I'm standing there waiting, I'm listening to two other customers dealing with similar mistreatment and watching the pharmacy techs have to beg and plead their pharmacist to do anything. She seems completely disinterested in everything happening while the pharmacy techs desperately try to hold together a sinking ship. Abysmal leadership. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The new pharmacist is completely unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. I am not one to participate in an argument with anyone doing their job but with this pharmacist I had to. She attempted to humiliate me and yell at me in front of the whole store, UNPROVOKED after I tried to pick up my prescription and she refused to run my insurance cause she didn't have enough time. I tried to explain to her how I felt and ask if she could please do so because I was in so much pain and I couldn't wait. She then went off me while others in line advocated for me and asked her to skip them and help me instead. She still refused and made me wait as she went to eat her lunch. I have NEVER had an experience like this ever which prompted me to look her up. She claims on her linked in that she thrives in social situations and provides excellent care but I would BEG TO DIFFER. If you want excellent care I suggest you find another store. Hands down one of the most disappointing experiences I've had for prescription drop offs. We got there at 8:50pm with a prescription to leave when the dude behind the counter shuts the blinds in our face. So we talked to the people picking up prescriptions and they said sorry, we can't accept dropoffs, our systems don't work after 9pm. To that sir, I just saw the dude that was accepting prescription drop offs and that lie was lazily said. At least put the effort into making the situation honest if you're going to continue accepting prescription pickups while leaving dropoffs closed. read more

But when I asked for information I can only describe the pharmacist as annoyed at me for asking. I've used several CVS pharmacies and none compare to the bad service this place provides. Before I moved, I used to frequent this CVS as it was the closest one to my place of residence. I really don't know what else the folks who work at this particular CVS Branch need to hear to make some meaningful changes. I have never, ever encountered issues filling prescriptions like I have at this CVS. Aside from some of the employees being less-than-helpful, it is nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone. Even though I've since moved, my doctor recently sent my prescription here by mistake. I was asked to contact them to return the prescription so it can be filled at the CVS closer to my new home. I've been trying for several days - and multiple times a day at that - to reach the pharmacy via phone. Each time, I simply end up on an indefinite hold - a few times of which ended with me being hung up on. Luckily, I reached out to the pharmacists at my new CVS, who answered the phone immediately and were able to take care of it for me. It is long past overdue that management listens to what people are saying and intervenes. read more

Pharmacy is so unorganized. They tell everyone that walk ins for flu shots begin at 1p, but the nurse said she takes her lunch at 1. So of course by the time the nurse shows up, the line is long, and people are frustrated because they have been waiting for so long. I suggest a big white board to keep track. read more

Danger, this is the first pharmacy I personally witnessed commit fraud by a male pharmacist who both lied about CVS Corperate refill policy and commit identity theft by creating duplicate insurance profiles. The pharmacist, Akmid, only tried to cover his tracks by both trying to fill a non-controlled script and attempt to delete the duplicate insurance profile only after I called both the police and Corperate for this insurance billing fraud and identity theft. Something fishy is going on with this pharmacy so AVOID at all cost! read more

There is something HORRIBLY wrong with this pharmacy! First, starting with their manager. I told him that my medication wasn't absorbing,& passing whole through the stool. Sorry for that! The manager quickly dismissed me by saying,"That never happens." Excuse me! I've been a nurse for 27 yrs,& I certainly know what I saw! Their turnover rate seems to be high. The staff is unfriendly,& even rude amongst their coworkers! Today, I went in to pick up my friends pain medication. She had surgery this morning. The wait was predicted to be 3hrs. Naturally, when we returned, there was a 30 min wait! UNACCEPTABLE for a post op pt! The intern was absolutely unmoved. Not a smile, not an apology.
