I used to shop here often as it was convenient and they have great deals/coupons. However, today will probably be my last shopping experience at this location. I stopped here on the way to work around 6:30am on Monday, 4/20/26, to purchase Zyrtec D and some Diet Coke. I paid for all of my items at the pharmacy. The cashier offered a receipt but I declined. I placed my items (3 Diet Cokes, a small container of baby powder, and the box of Zyrtec D) in my reusable shopping bag and exited the store. I was parked close to the entrance. I popped my trunk and was placing the bag in my trunk when an employee exited the store and approached me stating, "You need to come back in." I was confused and I'm sure by the look on my face that was obvious so he said, "You need to pay for those drinks in your bag." I told him I paid at the pharmacy. He then asked for my receipt. I told him I had it on my phone through the app. He then stated, "It's not going to show on there." He contacted the pharmacy employee via walkie talkie and asked if he had rung up a sale. The pharmacy employee stated that he had and told him what I had purchased. I now have the purchase history up on my phone. I showed this employee and he simply said, "Oh." And walked away. No apology or anything. I spend a lot of money at CVS. I am torn between shopping at a different, less convenient location and cancelling my Extra Care membership altogether. I have worked retail for 30 years. Unless you are a loss prevention employee, you should not be following people out of the store. That is a company policy at every retail company I have ever worked for. I find it hard to believe there was a dedicated LP person at this CVS at 6:30 am on a Monday. This person obviously did not check with the pharmacy or review any cameras before approaching me by my car in the parking lot. Please invest in better training for your staff. This person was an African-American male, mid-twenties, 5'8"-5'10", thick accent. OMG. Whoever hired the guy working the pharmacy desk on Jan 6 at 2:25, needs to be replaced, just like cashier 2123589 at register 12. He has no idea what he is doing and doesn't take the initiative to ask the pharmacist or another worker how to resolve a problem. I wasted 10 minutes waiting for the only customer in line waiting for someone to find his order. Once he demanded to talk to someone else, they resolved the problem in "seconds", not minutes but seconds. Then I figured my order should be a quick in and out since i had the barcode with payment on file. Easy peasy right? Nope. Even after showing the screenshot of the pickup order that clearly states you will be charged when barcode is scanned, Einstein tells me, "There's no card on file. Do you have your card?" Now my daughter has had this problem before but I never have until today. There was no sense in arguing so I had to go through the regular steps of a purchase. What's the sense in having a system that is flawed and doesn't work? Especially when a space cadet is the face of the pharmacy that day. Exasperating. Normally, the experience here is about a low 3. Today was a new low for CVS. Unfortunately, this is the company my former employer uses for its retirement benefits package so I'm at the mercy of this pharmaceutical behemoth. I switched from Kaiser permanently because their service has declined significantly. Imagine my surprise when I arranged for my medication to be picked up at this CVS, and I've gone twice to collect it and haven't been able to. The first time, it was supposed to take an hour, but I had to leave the line because it wasn't moving. The next day, I went back and waited another hour, and again, I couldn't pick it up because the line wasn't moving. The Gardena, CA CVS pharmacy location is by far the most grossly incompetent pharmacy on the planet. You cannot speak to a live person via phone, they selectively return callback requests placed on their app and by phone, and clearly reading and comprehension are not a prerequisite for working at this location. I have had a 90 day prescription, with multiple refills, on file for 3 months and they keep giving me excuses for only refilling 30 day supplies. I went into the pharmacy last month and confirmed my 90 day supply prescription, the number of available refills remaining (24), and made a 3rd request to have the proper amount of refills reflected on my account and in the app. They have filled (3) 30 supplies of my multiple refills for a 90 day supply prescription and just messaged me stating they need to contact my doctor for additional refills. How can the incompetence be both over and underwhelming at this pharmacy? Once I get a list of all my active prescriptions, I'm changing to my local Costco because CVS is ABSOLUTE TRASH now! read more

Pharmacy employees are very courteous. When you need an item on an isle and push the help button employees are very prompted to help you.

I've never been treated with such disrespect at a pharmacy before. At CVS Store #9564 on Western Ave in Gardena, the pharmacy tech Azara Price was completely unprofessional, discriminatory, and even laughed in my face. This is a pharmacy where people come for help with their health, not to be disrespected or mocked. I brought this up to the supervisor, but nothing was done. That makes it even worse because if management won't address this kind of behavior, it says a lot about how little they value customers. I feel completely discriminated against and humiliated by the way I was treated here. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and warning others to do the same until CVS holds their staff accountable. read more

About The Pharmacy. Bad service. So i went to pick up a prescription for a family and was next in line for 25 - 30 minutes. The associate, Ernesto, was very slow and was too busy socializing with his co workers in the back. After he helped the customer he was assisting he took another person that approached to ask a question and continued to check him out. Not once did he acknowledge the long waiting line. This is why I will not transfer my prescriptions to this pharmacy even though it's closer to my home. I will continue to make the extra mile drive where the service is MUCH better. read more

Apparently they had already returned the medication due to operating on a 24hr timeline. I was upset and embarrassed to even ask for a manager, but I really needed my refill. Enter AMY NGUYEN, easily one of your best employees. She explained the situation, eased my tension, and offered a solution in a pleasant and professional manner all within one breath. If she's not already lead pharmacist, make her so. Amy then deferred me to KAREN to ring me up. Amy shook my nerves off, and then Karen elevated that and made me laugh and smile. Karen is genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and makes checking out feel like shopping with a friend. Some of the people that work in the pharmacy are horrible. Picked up my son's medicine and didn't explain us how to take it. At my pharmacy at Kaiser, they would give us instructions how to take the medicine before they hand us the medication. Here, they just give it to you and that's it. Find out they were suppose to give us a syringe but didn't and my son took more than instructed when using regular medicine cup. Another time I asked the pharmacist if there's Tylenol to bring my 5 month year old fever down. She said no, but I looked and saw Tylenol for my daughter's age. She makes dumb comments like, " as you know we are on back order", no I do not know because no one has called to inform me. She later calls me up tells me my prescription is ready, when in fact it wasn't, and has me wait for a longer period of time. So I've been coming to this CVS for over 20 years and tonight I met a new manager with Long Black Hair at 11:30pm On Tuesday, May 14th, of 2024. She was not very helpful, she made her own new rules, and gave me a lot of attitude making me feel very unwelcomed. I even asked her to please open the restroom for me and she said it was closed. It has NEVER been closed especially while it is not only a Pharmacy, a place that is looked upon to help their customers feel safe, comfortable, and better but also the fact that it is a 24 Hour PUBLIC Store to ALL Customers whom have the right to shop at any time while feeling safe and welcomed nicely. This is our Home too & if we want to shop in peace these are the type of places we should be feeling best to walk inside of. I'm sure all the employees here are great people, but the way this CVS organizes its vaccine system is a moronic disorganized mess. First of all, there are no signs or any directions on what to do or where to go to get the shots. Secondly, you have to wait in line to ask where to go. Thirdly, there is no separate room to get your shots, they just have a small bedroom partition that is not private and they set that up in one of the aisles. Finally, when you arrive, there is first come first serve no matter if you made an appointment or not. Complete disorganization. If I could give a zero, I would! I have been to this pharmacy twice and have had a nightmare of an experience. I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN! Please avoid at all costs because whatever illness you have, will be triggered more after dealing with this pharmacy! Our prescription was sent at around 6 and now finally after being on hold trying to deal with my insurance only to be told the pharmacist has to call, we just got my son's prescription filled.
