The good: This Walmart is massive! In their garden center, they had giant outdoor 11 x 8' rugs for $20 on clearance! I got my Christmas tree here for an affordable price as well as food items that I haven't seen elsewhere (like princess string cheese). They had super cute kids bikes here that had seats for kids to put and buckle their dolls. Their holiday section is great! Their hours are great (6AM-11PM). My mom got lots of kids' clothes from here for great prices. I like this place better than the other Walmart in Torrance since it is bigger (rather than having a separate Walmart Neighborhood market). Bad review is for Walmart tire center and the Auto center in general: First bad experience involved a Latino cashier (Walmart Associate in the Auto Center department) with a name tag that read "SHAUN." His race/ethnicity is revealed for identity purposes. When I arrived in Auto Center, no one was behind checkout station. Funny part is I pressed the button on the credit/debit card machine that said "press here for assistance." Yet it took 2 presses and about 12 minutes for someone to come out, despite the tons of Walmart employees roaming that whole Auto Center checkout section. Not just order pickers. Folks who worked in Auto Center. I was saying to myself: "If I were a criminal and I walked out Auto Center exit with a cheap candy bar, I guarantee that I would've been tackled immediately by no less than ten Walmart employees in that section. Yet no one could see me waiting on associate?" I came in to purchase a battery that was clearly priced on the website for $139. I even scanned the barcode. It showed the same price. Yet it had a different price of $144 for in store. Ive had this issue at other Walmarts. They honored online price after taking my word or checking their Walmart app. Also, if you check Walmart price match policies, it clearly says: "For items purchased in a Walmart U.S. store, we will match the price of the identical item advertised on Walmart.com." It also says: "The customer must inform the Walmart associate of the price at the time of checkout. The identical item (i.e., size, model, quantity, brand, or color, etc.) must be currently in-stock and available to purchase on Walmart.com at the time the Price Match is requested. I adhered to those policies. However, this "SHAUN" guy gave me a hard time and said "We don't do that. You have to order it online." Which is the most ignorant crap he could've said. I didn't argue with him. I just bought the battery for his price. I couldn't wait to leave this negative review. This guy lied, just to prevent me from paying merely $5 less . Also, my core was right next to the new battery. The "SHAUN" guy asked me if I wanted to leave the core here. I said to my self, "this guy thinks that I just carried this 46 lb battery in this store just to take it back?" At any rate, a lightning bulb in his brain lit up and I got my $15 core charge deducted from total. Paid for battery and left. The "SHAUN" guy never said thanks or anything else that normal Walmart associates would say after completing a successful transaction. That was Today. That sealed the deal for a 1 star review. I swear. Previously, I ordered 4 tires for my moms on Walmart's website. Had them shipped to this Walmart tire center. When I placed order, I also scheduled their installation service. Tires were prepaid. Install service was to be paid upon receipt. Appointment was scheduled. 2 hours before appointment, this Walmart tire location canceled installation and changed order to pick up. Reason listed is they didn't have tires available. Order status changed to "delayed." A day later, a Walmart website email confirmed pick up availability. I called Walmart tire center. They rarely answer the phone. So I had to call them on 5 different occasions on the same day to get someone to answer. A person answer and scheduled an appointment for next week. Which was 3 days before tire order would've been canceled due to non pick up. I agreed. Went to scheduled appointment. They claimed they can only find 3 tires. After waiting 30-35 minutes passed appointment time, they came out and told me that the 4th tire is still in transit. They told me to come back in a few days, which would've been passed the order pick up date. I explained that info to their representative. They told me to come back a day before pick up date. But couldn't confirm that the 4th tire would be in stock. They didn't even have the ability to track the 4th tire. That same day, I left and got some brand new tires from a small tire shop down the street. Like most say, if you order tires from Walmart's website, have them shipped to your house or a friend's. Then take them to a tire shop and have them mounted/balanced/installed. My Walmart website order was canceled as I never went back to pick up tires. read more

It's just hard for them to keep it organized when people put items randomly in the store instead of where they originally grabbed it. Another drawback is the lack of open registers. I come here for everything; toiletries, household items, car items, clothes, food, money order, and returns. They are pretty quick with stocking items but quickly remove them for the next holiday. 3 employees hanging out behind the electronics counter. I ask one where I can find blank CDs, he shows me the case but says he will come right back, never comes back. I ask another lady if she can help me, she says she can open the case but can't ring me up because she doesn't work in that department. She tells the 3rd employee to help me and leaves, but the third employee says she can't ring me up because she doesn't have codes to work the register and that I need to wait for someone who can work the register, she also takes the CDs and case so I can't try to buy them in the front, she also doesn't call anyone to help me. A 4th employee shows up from break 10 mins later and finally is able to get the cds from the 3rd employee and ring me up. 20 minutes total just waiting to buy something while 4 total employees who have no idea what they're doing figure out how to help a customer. I truly avoid this store whenever I can. The parking lot is always a mess, trash everywhere. People unbox merchandise and then leave the box & trash in the parking lot. Who does that? Pigs? I did find some Wicked merchandise, just 3 items. When I asked an employee, she showed me a rack that had nothing but S and XS. She said "that's it." Luckily I didn't believe her and I looked through several other racks. Wicked Items were mixed with Christmas items, Snoopy, Grinch, etc. I was lucky to find something - hooray. The morning of my installation day they called me and told me that they don't have anyone to install my tires. Probably one of the most worst experiences of my life. Actually, not probably. It is one of the worst experiences. I don't blame it on the workers as much as I blame it on the management and facilities. There is a lack of urgency on the service side, as well as lack of clarity. I received several reminders of my appointment for today. I purchased my tires in advance, which then were shipped to the location of my appointment. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and parked my car. I entered into the auto center and waited to speak with the service counter. After waiting approximately 10 minutes for him to get through the customer in front of me, he let me know that all I needed to do was pull up to the bay and wait for someone to come to my car. A little frustrated. However, I get into my car and pull up to the bay, to only wait for another 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. This, of course, is after I flagged someone down to help me. It has nearly been over two hours later, and I am still waiting for my car to get four tires replaced. During this time, I was able to shop the store, which needs cleaning and attention. Several of the employees are standing around talking to each other rather than helping the customers around them. Even when entering and standing by the customer service desk, the banter between the two employees was incredibly unprofessional. It is sad to say that I do not recommend this place at all? Take advantage of the pick up or delivery service but I do not recommend anyone going inside or the tire service, considering how slow it is. read more

This is a criticism of Walmart - both at the corporate level and at the store level. I needed an item. I looked online and found that Walmart had the product I was looking for - and for an acceptable price. I also confirmed that (to the best of the data base's knowledge) the item was in stock, in store. (Another important detail: The Walmart*com website stated that the order, if purchased via online shopping, would be sold and fulfilled by Walmart - not a third party selling on the Walmart marketplace.) When I went to the store, the price on the shelf was different than the price stated online; it was a little higher. I questioned the cashier about this, but they didn't have an explanation, and they didn't offer to do anything about it. I had something similar happen at Target. Do you know what the Target cashier did? Using our respective mobile devices, we verified the price, as listed on Target*com. Once verified, the cashier matched the lower price posted on the Target*com website. Question to corporate management: Why is it prices stated online might not correspond to the prices posted in store, on the shelf? My appointment is Monday, November 11, 2024 at 4:30 pm I show up 30 minutes early and make sure to inform that I am there (there was only one car in front of me). I also inform that I have a tire rotation appointment at 6 pm. They started working on my car at 4:53 pm, at 5:50 pm I try to talk to the supervisor because I realize that they just have my car there and no one works on it ‍ and he ignores me, I tell him the problem and he continues to ignore me and doesn't answer anything. I came here for my last oil change and it took over 3 hours (no exaggeration) and now I'm here for tires because I thought it was a fluke incident and they had the best prices but it's just not worth it. I was the only car when I pulled up (on the tire and oil side) and we are now going on 2 hours. I wouldn't be mad if they were busy but they are literally just hanging out and joking around. In addition the manager was working on my car and left to handle another unhappy customer and during the time another car pulled up and they started working on that car instead of picking up where he left with my car. Inventory manager (possible staff as well...) should be fired...HR where are you...? First time- my order (curbside pickup ) in its entirety was non existent ( yes products were paid for ...only required pickup)! Walmart associates questioned pricing for items etc ...WHAT!!- Walmart associates stated that the entire purchase wasn't available yada yada yada...went inside the store and 'FOUND' my order ( really Walmart Torrance is this what y'all do...) Second time- pickup inside store (didn't want the same run around/ twenty questions/ keystone cop behavior- as first pickup occasion re the PAID for items- had to locate 'missing' /unaccounted for items)! The two scenarios involved the inventory manager (et al), who has exhibited a pattern of 'negative' (egregious) customer service. Now I can say that when reporting these incidents to the Customer Service Dept; monies were appropriately refunded! But, my time was lost and cannot be 'replaced'! Walmart Torrance should revisit the inventory manager/staff workplace performance/behavior ( possibly for training remediation OR...). You can improve by giving everyone less breaks every time I ask someone for help they had a soft drink in their hand from the McDonald's restaurant inside of the Walmart and they were on break.
