I just have to say the staff here are absolutely amazing. I always love the blonde woman who works at the front typically, she's so friendly and always greets when you're entering/leaving. I've had the pleasure of small talking with her while buying stuff a few times, and she made me laugh every single time. She's like the Vana White of this CVS and I love it. Then today, I went into the pharmacy just to buy an OTC inhaler and I was amazed. Pharmacy lines are usually my personal hell. There's usually a blonde woman with glasses working the front desk and she's amazing too but I saw a different blonde lady with long hair working the desk today and was sooo impressed with not only how quick she was but how kind she was. There was a man being extremely rude to her and she handled it so well. I just had to write a review to say the staff here are genuinely awesome and they're the type of people I wish I encountered every time I'm at the store due to their generosity and kindness. Management here is TERRIBLE. I'm sorry if it's the company's fault for whatever reason, but they need to know this is NOT acceptable service. Pharmacy was closed this afternoon with NO explanation, NO signage! Just closed. This has happened before in recent history, too. And their refrigeration has been down at least 3 times in the last several months. Having to come back time and again is just not worth it anymore. Today my husband and I stopped in to receive the 2023 updated Covid-19 vaccine, recommended as well from my doctor for pregnancy. We also purchased some allergy meds, including one comparable to Zyrtec since my allergies worsened during pregnancy. And I have to say I felt an instant relief of my symptoms! There's something about CVS that I just love! They have great sales, accessories, gift options, a convenient pharmacy and even offer vaccines! This location is no exception, the staff are always so helpful and sweet and everything is well organized! I would highly recommend this location and we'll continue to support them! I was in the CVS store 9479 Madison Ave on 11/26/2025 approximately 10:30 am to pick up a bag of ice for $4.99. The associate was an older blonde hair woman, She wrang up my ice and told me the cost was $6.45 I paid for the ice and she ask me if I wanted the receipt. When I got home I realized the tax was $1.50 more on the $4.99 so I called the store and spoke too the same associate and I asked her why was there so much tax She replied she didn't know. I can understand that but her response after that was "What do you want me to do". She told me she had other customers in line and she would ring up another bag of ice. I said ok then she hung up on me. It was a simple question that was asked. I also understand she was busy and I would have held till she had the time and it's the day before Thanksgiving. The store manager named Bo D Ho is without a doubt the most unprofessional pharmacist in the US!! He lacks any and all communication skills to help you understand and will leave you frustrated, pressing to get clarity, this is exactly what happened to me today and because I was making it very evident how unclear and confusing his response was, he then decided to use a superiority complex threaten me to call my doctor then said I was wasting his time and hung up on me. I have never ever left a review until this one, and I am taking it all the way to the top. It was so egregious and so disgustingly unprofessional that it breaches on malpractice because he refused a prescription due to the fact, I was giving pushback because what he was saying did not make sense. He talks in circles and it's evident he doesn't even know what he's talking about. I would not trust this man with any medication for anyone. He comes across extremely uneducated about some processes within his pharmacy. I can't imagine his colleagues standing right next to him (it's a small space) listening to him talk the way he was talking on the phone to me. After he hung up on me, I immediately went to the reviews where it has revealed that I am not the only one he has done this too. CVS needs to remove this pharmacist immediately. It is unacceptable to have such a bully, condescending pharmacist that's supposed to be helping people! He is a violation on so many levels!! I have never had anyone speak to me the way that man spoke to me today. And now I will die on this mountain to make sure that the top people will know and remove him on behalf of me and anyone else who comes into contact with him, especially for the ones who have a smaller voice!! I went to the CVS Pharmacy 9479 Madison Ave Folsom. I encountered the rudest, unprofessional employee by the name of Bo Ho. Short little Asian man. Was not wearing his name tag but I know his name from other reviews and the description people left about this RX Manager. I said hello how are you? I just got a stare and he asked my last name. When I gave it to him his response to me was very rude! He said you want to use your VISA I said no I'll just pay the 1.47 since its a small amount. After I gave him 2 dollars and said thank you. He just ripped the receipt handled it to me without saying a word. I thought wow what awful customer service. I got online and read how rude this person Bo Ho (LOL ) was very rude, seem very unhappy and wordless. Short little man complex just like the other reviews said. Wear you name tag Bo Ho! I have never used their photo or pharmacy services, but i have needed to run into this store from time to time and THEY ALWAYS HAVE WHAT I NEED. Living in this area is a bit hard because there aren't a lot of options for us. You either have to drive down to safeway by Hazel or into Folsom on Riley to get to a store of any kind. So i totally embrace and welcome this CVS. The store is never that packed with people, so you can run in and out. They have a WIDE SELECTION of makeup and goodies, they always have a lot of medicine products in stock, they have great seasonal items depending on the holiday. I am absolutely sick and tired of the inadequate customer service at this place. There were no registers open, so I tried to check out at the self-checkout kiosks, of which only one was available, the other in use. A customer was having trouble using the available one, and I saw a group of employees standing around, talking to one another, so I tried flagging one of them down, but none of them would help me. Finally, an employee asked if i required assistance. I told her that I needed to be rung up, but, instead activating the blacked-out self-checkout kiosk or opening up an actual register, she doubled down and told me to use the kiosk currently in use. I have been more than forbearing with service workers in my lifetime, but if the staff members here are going to continue to be utterly inept and refuse to do their jobs, then I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Rite Aid, in my experience, at least keeps all its self-checkout kiosks active. This was by no means the first time I have received poor service from this location, but it shall be the last. CVS has forever lost a potential customer. read more

Love this local pharmacy that is so close to home and lets me run in to get last minute items, including non produce groceries. Surprisingly, you'll find great deals on certain items like $1.99 cereals and $2.99 medium candy bags. Also, if you're a member they'll give you a huge receipt with tons of coupons for your next visit. Look out for those rewards which you can apply toward any purchase. I often come here after holidays to take advantage of their sale items. Also recently renovated, this store looks more inviting than ever. read more

The customer service at this CVS store is really appalling. I went to turn in some winning scratchers and they claimed they did not have enough money to give me the $150 I had won. We were forced to go through three separate cashiers...and initially only were only willing to give me $50. Really? A huge store like CVS does not have $150??? I asked to talk to the manager, Taz...Tez, something like that...but they told me she was not available but maybe they could give me my remaining $100 in $5 bills....what? Eventually, another cashier found money to give in normal $20s,....but it took over 20 minutes. What a joke? The cashiers all has attitude that I was trying to get them to do their jobs....Lily was the one with the biggest chip on her shoulder. This store has continually been degrading since new management took over 6 months ago. This location is about 10 min from my house. I went to pickup some cough medicine around 8:30pm. The lady told me that the prescription was sent to the other location in Folsom which was already closed. I didn't get any sleep that night because of my cough. The next morning I drove 40 minute round trip to the other location inside the Target in Folsom. The gentleman helping me was very nice and he also told me that it would have been very easy for this pharmacy to fill the prescription. read more

I have sent my person to pick up my prescriptions two times in a row on consecutive days to only been told by Michelle that i had no prescripts ready. I called and asked a different person each time and they said they did not know why she said that because they are there and ready and they apologized which is fine they did not do anything, that Michelle needs to find another line of work because she sucks. This is not the first incident involving her over the eight years i have been going there. There is to many to mention. I will no longer keep my mouth shut. Avoid like the plague - unless you want to get robbed! As duly reported, Stephanie and Teresa at this branch overcharged generic prescription medicines 3 times over 2 months, actual payments and false charges totaling over $250. What is worse, now over 2 months after discovery of overcharges that appear fraudulent, they not only failed to fully reimburse me, but in a highly arrogant manner refused even to sign a memo to CVS system that the client was not at fault (though "their mistake" at the branch was admitted orally at least for one $162 overcharge instead of the due $10, a more than Sixteen-fold due payment). My lawyer says that Class Action Law Suits are not at all unheard for CVS for systematic overcharges - check Google. I have strong reasons to believe, e.g. since they pulled patently false and self-contradictory "explanations" (instead of full reimbursement) that highly unusual business practices are at play - at the least in this particular CVS Branch 9980. read more

I called this particular pharmacy to check on a medication and a lady picked up not giving her name so I took the opportunity to model proper phone communication by sharing my name and asking for hers. She said her name was Rose. I then had to repeat 3 times what I was asking for until she decided to finally write it down. She kept repeating it back to me incorrectly and then abruptly decided to go look for it. Of course she couldn't find it after looking because she couldn't understand what I was asking for and immediately hung up on me while I was trying to clarify it further. CVS Costomer service needs some work. Every 3 months my doctor faxes over the same 3 scrips. Every 3 months I show up to CVS to pick up and its not ready. Same story every time. "We are working on it now it will be 20 minutes" Today The scrips were faxed at 10:50am I arived at 5:50pm to hear the same story again.
