My husband and I made a COVID test at the perfect time to be within our 72 hours prior to boarding our flight to Hawaii. We went to the drive up pharmacy on Clayton Valley Rd. When we came to the drive up window, we waited 10 minutes before a woman explained that the test has been cancelled because their sticker machine wasn't working. We scrambled to find another CVS testing site that fit our travel window but couldn't find any. When asked if this pharmacy could contact another CVS for us and explain our predicament, I was stonewalled. I will not recommend using CVS for any important testing ever. Why couldn't another testing pharmacy fit us in given this issue? It wasn't worth their time. read more

Do NOT (and I repeat... do NOT!) visit this location on a Saturday evening. Even if you really really need bandaids. (Use duct tape and cotton balls. Its that awful.) Even if it's the closest option for whatever it is that you might need. (Seriously, you don't need anything THAT bad.) Product selection is fine. Parking? No problem. The shopping experience? Otherworldly awful. It's a rough-ish area. I get it. Hustlers gotta hustle. Tweakers gonna tweak. My objection is the absolute NEXUS of 'challenging' clientele attempting gift-card scams/expired coupons, and the inexperienced/apathetic/register-challenged staff. (Note to management: don't put the B-team on during the hours that most require deft job mastery and cheerful smiles.) Painful. A painful experience- and not just because of the bleeding thumb requiring the aforementioned band-aid. The throbbing appendage I can handle - but a SINGLE open register? Poorly managed and incredibly inefficient. We have been going to this pharmacy since November and after today we won't be coming back. The drive thru is completely miss-managed. It takes them 30 mins to get through one car. We waited for over an hour and only saw two cars get through before we gave up and left. It's not surprising these people have 2 stars on Yelp. So my boyfriend goes in with his prescription to be filled after beng sick for a whole week. First they tell him to come back before closing to pick up meds. I thought that was really strange when it normally don't take 8 hours to fill a prescription..Okay we go back 8 or so hours later and the meds are still not ready! The Asian guy who took the Prescription was very short and rude. What type of pharmacy is this that, don't call to let you know they can't fulfill your prescription...I'll never go back ever!!! read more

Surprised at the bad reviews. This is my go to multiple times per week. Staff is always nice and polite, I love when the 2 mangers Ken and Michael is there. I stopped here today because I was picking up a cake at Alpine pastry and it's just two doors down. I wanted to grab some diapers and orange juice on the way home, but I looked at the prices and I turned right around and left. It's too expensive! OJ was $4.19 (it's almost always on sale for $3 at Safeway) and the diapers were $11.99 (a full $2 more than at Safeway). So guess where I went? Safeway! haha. They get two stars because they have a good card selection, and they can't mark those up because whatever the price says on the back is how much it costs everywhere. read more

This place smells like it used to be an old pet store. The cashiers are nice enough but SO SLOW! It's like they are moving under water. It doesn't matter what time you go, there is always some person in front of you that wants to argue about 10 cents on a coupon, or trying to use a CVS brand coupon on name brand products. I realize it's not the stores fault that their customers are idiots, but the employees should call another cashier or make the person stand aside. Also tired of being harassed for money coming and going since they let anyone set up a table asking for donations directly in front of the door. Impossible to avoid, and they always have that snarky "god bless you" when you don't have cash to give them. I think it's pretty effed that CVS let's these people camp in front. Ehh...who reads reviews for a drug store anyway...better yet, who writes them? That's how frustrating this place is. read more

I go here frequently to pick up essentials like over-the-counter drugs, lady stuff, and any other things that were good deals. I personally like the staff. Theres this older gentleman who mostly works at the cash register and he just has a calm aura about him and does small talks. Other staff were polite and friendly. Some days there were other staff who didn't talk or were just there to work. I don't have a problem with this. The place looks very clean and I like how they remodeled the place. I definitely like how it looks now. Most of the time there are people sitting outside CVS asking for donations. I ignore them sometimes and they always tried to be nice about it though you could kinda tell from their voice that they didn't like you ignoring them. Anyway this CVS is at a convenient location. It's clean and it has the things I need. I've never been harassed in the store by random strangers (unlike Walgreens down the street) so I'm more comfortable here. read more

I am still longing for Long's -- and I know it is pointless as Long's is long gone. When this site was still a Long's, it was the one I visited most frequently as it was between my home and my office -- and near Alpine Bakery. A while back Long's made a much-needed update here -- and the next thing I knew it was a CVS Pharmacy and being "updated" yet again. At CVS I find less merchandise and higher prices. Last time I was here some of the old Long's clerks still worked here - and I wanted to tell them how sorry I was for them. Except in emergency situations, I am sticking with Kaiser for prescriptions and Target for other "drugstore" needs. This is one change that was NOT for the better. read more

Horrible pharmacy, no communication when there will be a delay in filling a prescription. I have a couple medications I have to take daily. Half the time I need a script filled, they don't fill it on time. When I call to learn why the script wasn't filled, they lie and say it was. I recieve both texts and alerts through the CVS app when a prescription is ready to be picked up. read more

not sure if different CVS location have different prices, but this one seems a bit too expensive than normal. Also, the workers over there don't seem to happy, and therefore this trickles down to their customers. I scheduled 2 appointments for Covid tests for Sunday Nov 8th at CVS on Tice Valley Road in Walnut Creek. The tests were required by the State of Hawaii for travel and CVS are an approved testing site. Be very careful to avoid the misinformation we were provided that they would have the results back in 2 - 3 days. Avoid what happened to us CVS MinuteClinic will take your money and then deliver the test results after 7 days. They are busy and should have informed us that they could not deliver the results in the timeframe mandated for travel to Hawaii. read more

This CVS pharmacy is absolutely terrible. I don't know how many times to have to make it clear that I will not use a substitute product over what my Doctor actually put in my prescription. I don't care if the ingredients are the same, I thought I made myself clear the last four times I told them to notate this in their systems, but I guess they needed me to repeat myself for a 5th time. Totally inconvenient. And now I'm having to drive to another CVS location to get what exactly my doctor prescribed for. The only reason I continue to frequent this CVS is that it is very close to my house. If I want decent customer service, I go at night. The manager working at night is exceptionally professional and helpful. The daytime employees are another story. The female manager frequently ignores customers and growing check-out lines to continue conversations with others. Things that could happen during downtime, like showing an employee something that isn't a dire need, should occur during downtime, not when there is a huge line. Additionally, one checker in particular sucks fat ones. Karen is an old hag. I use coupons. I have to. We're poor. She makes you feel like a crook everytime you use a coupon. If I need to use coupons, I wait until night time to go. I really like the night time employees. The one drawback to night time shopping at this CVS is that the freaks and creeps and drug addicts love to roam at that time. They're always hanging around CVS at all hours of the day, but there seems to be a freak convention at CVS at night. So in and out and on with my business. Karen sucks. read more

HORRIBLE PHARMACY!!! Anytime I call, I am on hold for at LEAST 20 MINUTES!!!!!! They NEVER have enough help on hand. Just waiting in the drive thru line takes 20 minutes at any point of the day!!!! I've literally waited on hold and have driven TO the pharmacy while on hold from home... to STILL be on hold when I pull up to the window to ask the question I was on hold for. I currently sit at this pharmacy waiting an hour for a prescription to be filled because the 3 other people working can't do it and the only person who can is at lunch. I gave Taylor my prescription and she had to ask another lady who was too busy to help me anyways 3 times about what my prescription meant. This is what happens(Michelle Chan, pharmacy manager)when someone who comes straight out of tooth surgery and the numbness is wearing off and has to sit and wait in your pharmacy, another bad Yelp review. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I made an appointment for a Covid-19 test as part of the "Trusted Partner Program" with the state of Hawaii. We were told we would have our result before our flight and booked our testing appointment within the 72 hour window. 72 hours later at the airport to catch my flight- no result has been issued. Postponed to the next flight- no result! Had to retest at the airport, postpone the flight a day, and make alternate lodging plans at a big expense for another day. Now I am back at home-STILL NO TEST RESULT- I understand stuff happens- but there is no number to call and no way to follow-up! There is absolutely no customer service. No email or Q &A. This is the worst service ever! I will never spend one more RED CENT inside a CVS. There is no accountability! They are certainly not a TRUSTED PARTNER! You can bet on Monday when the bank opens I will be disputing the charges on my credit card for the test that I never got a result from! read more

A standard CVS - the store is quite spread out, which makes it seem a little empty. But things are tidy and well stocked, so no complaints there. The neighborhood isn't great, some not so great types lingering outside, so I would do my shopping here before the sun heads down. Otherwise no complaints - clean store, helpful staff. read more

Apparently the employees can not multitask. The only two employees on site 6/16 @ 9:30am were both busy. The guy would not even look my way or let me know he'll be with me in a minute. So rude ignoring customers. The blond lady can't be bothered to step away from her duties and said to ask "ignoring guy" for help. And as I was walking out (never got help) the guy standing at counter the whole time was still waiting to be helped. Save yourself aggravation and drive another mile up the road to Walgreens or Safeway. read more

I was completely out of a prescription that I need daily and she said the only way to give it to me would be if I paid double for it (they had it in stock) or else I had to wait. I asked if she could give me a couple to get by until my dr authorized a refill, answer was no. After multiple conversations with her, she finally said she would give it me "so she could end this conversation!" If I could give negative stars I would! I used to come here all the time because it was convenient on my walk from Bart. Came here with my 14 y.o. daughter to purchase makeup for a performance she had. Was in the makeup isle for maybe 15 minutes when we noticed one of the clerks (Chuck) standing not far from us, clearly monitoring our shopping. I thought "Okay were not doing anything wrong... except maybe shopping while black." 5 minutes later he comes over and says we have to leave and ushers us out of the store. My daughter was mortified. I didnt even have the opportunity to protest or ask why because my daughter was almost in tears. I almost dropped her off at home and came back, but decided against it. I did come back 2 days later and talked/complained to a manager who seemed pretty unfazed. He actually chastised me for not staying and complaining to the on duty manager the night of the incident. I explained that my daughter was my main concern and that this incident was VERY upsetting and embarrassing to her. He said he understood and would use this as a training opportunity. I informed him he was lucky I did not stay the night this occurred because I was so livid that I might have caused a scene. The manager didnt offer to follow up or anything, just moved on with his day like it was no big deal. To me this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE customer service. I informed him I will not ever shop at this or ANY CVS again. read more

After a recent car accident I had a lot of prescriptions, my caregivers always went to pick it up. This review is only for CVS pharmacy and not the whole store. They always received the medications without any problems but sometimes the wait was over 50 minutes, which is too much. Overall, I'm satisfied with the pharmacy and I like their extracare program. read more

Personally, their are only 2 things that bring me into a CVS, convinience and product - specifically beauty products. This particular branch carries brands that most CVS don't, like Vichy, La Roche Posay, and Soho. Their service is far below the bar I've seen at other local locations. read more

There is no sense of urgency when helping customers! All the employees seem bothered & like they could care less about being there. There is no such thing as a quick trip to CVS,you must always stand in line for much longer than necessary. How about having ALL the registers open? I guess the employees walking around the store & doing nothing are far to busy to help customers. I just came back from here after standing in line for 7 minutes & the lines not moving.One register had 2 employees behind it & the line still did not move. Who manages this place? I have always had problems with refills as they have never managed to fullfill on their words that will notify the doctor. They never do & there are always delays. They are very good in lying that its the doctor's office or the insurance fault. I will never ever shop from their pharmacy again read more
