So went late night coupon shopping at this CVS. Cashier was friendly. Greeted us as we walked in. As we got to the register asked if we found everything ok.Jasmine proceeded to check me out. I was done stuck my credit card in n was ready to pay. All of a sudden registers ALL go off . She waited a good 5 min n hers never went bak up so she took us to another register. Everything went smooth again except a crt didnt go thru. 1st time it did n 2nd it didnt cuz it was after 12am. Well she asked the manager Paul n all he said was if computer didnt take we cant except it. Jasmine starts telling him the story how I have been there reg went out but now it shows coupon expired since its after midnight. He didnt come over to try n fix it or apologize or anything. The pharmacy techs behind the counter total of 6 of them were rude I waited 7 mins in line no one else was in line before someone even acknowledged me then she said wait a moment 5 min later still no one and I asked her how long do I have to wait? The same tech said be with you in a moment. The line started to grow and finally one of the other techs came over to take my prescription drop off!!! Only to find out they didn't have the whole dosage on my prescription. Her name was Mary go back to school and learn how to respect and treat your customers. NEVER COMING Back!!! read more

Too bad there's not an option for no stars... I can't believe they're ACTUALLY still in business. I have had numerous, and i do mean numerous, complications in relation to this so called "establishment," one of which i had asked an employee to speak to a pharmacist regarding a particular medication in which i was having severe side effects and withdrawals. The employee told me she was the pharmacist, and quite obviously did not understand why i was having severe withdrawals in accordance to the medication (Paxil) that the pharmacy had refused to administer to me. Side note:Struggles, side effects and withdrawals due to Paxil is by no means a flippant concern to a REAL pharmacist, Dr., psychiatrist etc. Quite the contrary... regards to possible negative effects this medication my cause are taken extremely seriously. Mind you, their system had shown 7 prior refills under my name. She had not a care in the world to the symptoms i was having, and was completely uncouth to the situation. Hence, the following day i had a potentially fatal occurrence which lead to calling an ambulance by my manager at my workplace and had attracted a major scene. I can't begin to tell you the embarrassment i felt. Funny thing is, the woman to blame for this horrible and scary situation is NOT a licensed pharmacist! I only know this because another employee had later told me she was merely a "pharmacy technician". The audacity this girl had to lie to my face, yet i only have myself to blame because i should have known better than to listen to her speak to me in such a rude and disconcerted manner. None the less, I still can't believe i made the mistake of offering my loyalty as well as a second chance, and i fully regret doing so. I will put my trust in another pharmacy in which understands, and is accommodating to my needs. I hope for progress for this sad "business" and for the patients who don't have a clue what they're getting themselves into being involved with this particular CVS. Lesson learned read more

i have had nothing but problems with this pharmacy for over a year. the staff is indifferent and useless. i have dropped off prescriptions and told they would be ready in an hour, to return and be told there was some kind of issue with my insurance and that they would have to call to clarify. the least they could have done was call ME to tell me there was a problem. there is ALWAYS a line for prescription pick-ups and it moves ridiculously SLOW. the ONLY reason i continue to go is for it's proximity to my house. however, at this juncture, it has become no longer worth it. read more

There should be a negative rating system when places are so bad that you would be able to warn people to STAY AWAY! My long story real short is that this pharmacy is the absolute worst that I have ever experienced. Part of the problem is that too many people use this pharmacy. There should be a cap on the number of people that can go to one pharmacy as the excessive wait times for the phone (which can exceed 25 minutes), the wait time that it takes to drop off your prescription (which can easily exceed 45 minutes!) and wait times to pick up your prescription (which can exceed more than 2 hours!). The pharmacists are overworked and extremely rude. They don't care about you or your needs. All they care about is the money. If you have a choice and can avoid this CVS, please do so. Even if the other option is slightly further or out of your way. This will be valuable time saved and there are other pharmacies that will help you. read more

Stay as far away from this pharmacy as possible. A few weeks ago my doctor called in my prescription for insulin and testing supplies as I have gestational diabetes . I called the pharmacy at around 11:00 AM and they confirmed they had my prescription and informed me it would be ready by 1:00 PM. I arrive at 6:00 PM and they tell me it's not ready and they need another 2 hours to get it ready. I was absolutely furious the girl profusely apologized. Fast forward to tonight when I call for me refill and they tell me they don't have a current prescription for me. They have a 2017 prescription and need to call the doctor for a new one. I ask so you lost my prescription from a few weeks ago? They respond no we have one from 2017. I tell them I had a new prescription the doctor called in a few weeks ago that was filled. Then they ask me if I use any other names. I respond no they put me on hold and come back saying the same thing. That they don't have a current prescription. What kind of a pharmacy loses a prescription and specially for something like insulin that people's life depends on. I told them to not bother calling my doctor as I refuse to give them my business ever again. Save yourself from the extra stress and headache and use another pharmacy! read more

I didn't at all like this place. They made me and my son wait for half an hour( while my son was in pain ). He has an ear infection and we didn't even get the medicine after 45 minutes. I get there (by foot with baby and stroller) and I'm told that my medications are not in stock and won't be ready for pick-up until the following day... I'm questioning whether or not I will ever visit a CVS again. I dropped off my prescription at around 11:30am this morning. I gave the girl behind the counter my prescription and insurance card, and she informed me that my insurance wouldn't cover my whole prescription and that she'd have to reduce it. I told her I haven't had this problem before and have always been able to fill this prescription on this insurance as it was written. She didn't even look at my insurance card and was using an old insurance that I didn't want to use. Which means she would have billed me on the wrong insurance, not the one I had given to her. They told me they couldn't fill my prescription right away (the wait was an hour or more), and I'd have to come back. I should have left at this time but decided to be patient. She asked when I'd like to have it ready by and I told her I would come back at 5pm after work. I came back at 5pm, had to wait 25 minutes behind one customer in front of me who was complaining that they had not billed her insurance correctly, then when I reached the counter was informed that I'd have to wait 15 minutes for my prescription to be filled. I told the lady behind the counter that I had come in earlier at 11:30 and had been told my prescription would be ready when I came back. I was told by the employee that she didn't know who would promise me something like that and that I would have to wait 15 minutes. She was, frankly, extremely rude and was not helpful in any way. I do not even see why she could not have filled my prescription then when I told her that I had been waiting for five hours for them to fill it--she was standing there doing nothing. Additionally, she and I both had no idea if they even had my prescription in stock, so I could have been standing there for another fifteen minutes waiting for her to fill my prescription, just to find out that they don't have it. I could tell from when I dropped off my prescription that this pharmacy was horribly mis-managed, but the customer service is awful. I have never experienced any problems like this at Target Pharmacy and am severely disappointed in CVS. This CVS is horrible. It has completely ruined my day visiting their store and I am now without my prescription for a day because I didn't have time to go to another pharmacy (I told them to give me my prescription back). I wish I could give them negative stars. Go to Target Pharmacy. It's a little more out of the way because there aren't as many of them around, and they have those funny-shaped bottles, but you won't get any of this grief and you will definitely have a pleasant, easy experience with friendly pharmacy workers. And their system will always remember your preferences so you will be refilled correctly. read more

This is a huge store. I stopped in to get some items and finding them was a bit difficult to begin with. The store is a bit messy with merchandise not hanging, but laying on the shelves or floor. If you are in a hurry though, probably not the best place to stop as the line to check out was very long and there were only two cashiers. It took a long time to check out and had I not needed some of these items, I probably would have ditched the items (probably why the store is a bit messy) and left. Ralph's is on the other side of the street, you might be better off walking over there. read more

Was told that the prescription was both nonexistent, then suddenly oh it's here but the insurance won't pay for it. Funny, there was no insurance, shes a real POS. Among many other issues (one pharmacist yelling out the name of my medication across the room to another pharmacist - this was at the alameda location), this is ridiculous, I'm never going back to CVS pharm again for my meds. urgh! I'm frustrated that my insurance company changed the contracts they had with the old drug providers! My pharmacy before was Walgreens and I absolutely loved it!!! Walgreen's was not only 24 hours but they were so quick and organized with their customers! Anytime I have gone through the drive thru there have been cars there and it takes so long for them to process someones request. AT THE LEAST YOU WILL BE THERE 10 MIN ( and that's if you're lucky) There are just as many people, if not less than Walgreen, working behind the counter, yet, they are SO MUCH SLOWER! I was left waiting in my car for about 7 minutes before someone came up to me to help me ... NEVER had this happened with Walgreens.. To make matters worse... The last time I went to the pharmacy I went through the drive thru again and after waiting over 20 minutes to finally get to my turn, they told me that in order to refill my prescription I would have to come back 10 minutes later. Frustrated, I came back 10 minutes later....waited some more.. until finally one of the workers came by and gave me my order.. I get home and open the bag and they gave me the WRONG medication !! Can you rate something 0 stars? Because I would like to. The pharmacy here is RIDICULOUS. Not only will you wait in line forever in the store, but don't even bother calling on the phone. I recently switched to Walgreens after waiting over 20 minutes on hold just to have someone pick up, say hello? And immediately put me back on hold. Then the super nice Pharmacist at Walgreens (who picked up the phone within 1 minute and had my prescription ready at the drive thru exactly when she said it would be) tells me that when she calls to transfer a prescription, they will leave her on hold for OVER AN HOUR. These people are just total a-holes, basically. Oh and the kicker? CVS had already charged my prescription to my insurance before I picked it up, so that I had to pay out of pocket at Walgreens. This is the WORST CVS in the world. Sounds a little dramatic but I have been to this CVS over the last five years. It was my neighborhood CVS and now I go cause of the great stores around Zankou, Sprouts, and Chop Stop. I thought drop off a prescription do some Sprout shopping but Noooo! After a 45 minute wait to drop off ( you have that thought after 20 mins that its taking long then It shouldn't be much longer so I will wait versus just leaving) then another 25 mins for pick up. Then Pharmacists decided to let 4 people go ahead to get their flu shots. You got to be kidding me. I am surprise they haven't removed the pharmacist for bad managing for years!!!! I am finally DONE. Goodbye and I won't ever go in your store for candy, Lotion, make up wipes, nail polish and other frivolous purchases that I like to make. What a bunch of crooks. After being discharged from the hospital, I came here to drop off medication for my stomach. When it was time to pay the pharmacist told me that I need to pay $80 for my medication despite having medi-cal. When I asked about the price another pharmacist started giving me a bitchy attitude and she told me that I did give them any proof of my insurance and they told me that I still need to pay $80. That is strange because I went to another CVS to refill my prescription and I showed them my insurance and they didn't charge me. Bastards wanted money. I have always been a loyal shopper at CVS and highly respect CVS as a company. I am an avid couponer and I am always in and out, finding the best deals at CVS. So I decided to make this CVS my go-to place for couponing. I've been shopping at this location for 3 years and have gotten to know some of the employees that work (or worked I should say) there. I'd be greeted when walking in, I'd greet them back, sometimes talk with them for a bit, anytime a coupon wouldn't go through, they'd generously give me the discount anyways. It was a couponer's/customer's dream place. Everyone was so friendly! Yesterday I visited this CVS for the first time in 2 weeks and immediately realized some changes, a dead vibe. I encountered a new cashier and the manager. That's where the trouble started. As I went up to have my items ringed up, I presented the first item. It was a razor with a $3/$10 of razors, blades OR shave gels coupon. The razor was 10 dollars and the coupon did not go through. I have done this same transaction tens of times before and would always be notified that it was a problem with the system and the cashier would override the system and give the discount. This time, the cashier RUDELY said that I needed 2 items, yet the coupon said "razors, blades OR shave gels" not "and". That means one or the other as long as the total is 10 dollars. I tried explaining it to her, only to be cut off where she blurted "can you read? Razors, blades or shave gels! You have to get 2!" I again tried to explain to her in a calm tone, saying I am a loyal shopper here, and have done this transaction multiple times before- cut off again. She called her manager and told her to read it to me, same instance. I tried explaining to the manager, where she just laughed and said "can you read? It says it there" ?????? No portion of the coupon states 2 items, it says this, this OR this, not AND. GRAMMAR! In the end I brushed it off and told them to forget the coupon. This branch has horrible management, rude remarks toward good and bad customers, mislabeled items, an unprofessional image of a fantastic company, no knowledge of their own policies, little to no care towards loyal customers, and no basic understanding of retail criteria (I work in retail and have never encountered something like this branch before). CVS on Alameda Ave., you have just lost yourself a loyal customer of 3 years who constantly shopped at your location with ease and happiness, never having a problem. The store and pharmacy are always super understaffed, it smells weird all the time, long lines, often out of items, and the pharmacy never has your prescription ready or in stock.
