BLACK-OWNED GOURMET PIZZA EXPERIENCE Here, the pizza is more than just food, it's the shining star at the heart of the culinary experience. I know that everyone raves about their elevated topping options, such as Thai chili oxtail, but that's not how they won me over. The litmus test of a pizzeria is based on the quality of their plain slice. Here, the crust is clearly allowed to rise to the occasion prior to being layered with hearty, robust tomato sauce and topped with a generous amount of cheese. Their slice definitely on the cheesier side and I'm definitely not complaining. Of course they are more pricey than your neighbor pizza joint but that's the cost of their superior ingredients. Bring cash is you would like a discount. Pay your money and ENJOY BELOVED!

I finally got to try the famous oxtail pizza and boy was it worth it. I only recently found out they had a second location in Queens on Linden and so glad I didn't have to go to Brooklyn to try them. They also have a third location in Manhattan on Houston as well. I got the sweet chili oxtail and curry oxtail which cost $12.50 per slice, a little pricey but worth it since it was loaded with oxtail meat. I enjoyed both slices, the meat was very tender and very flavorful. The dough was very crispy and thin so it went perfectly. They have other toppings I want to try so definitely going back. Also, they have sauces on the side if you want your slice extra saucey. Staff was super friendly and quick to help. Definitely recommend them.

This place is a local treasure-- and by that I mean it's very hard to get to. So when I knew I was going to be in the area, I made it a point to finally try Cuts & Slices. I promised myself I was gonna try two slices but I ended up with 6. My mother-in-law has this compulsion to pay... little did she know each slice was at least $10 . You've been forewarned! My favorite was hands down the signature brown stew oxtail slice. Sweet savory melty cuts of meat spread on across a pizza. The dough was thicker than anticipated but someone pointed out it's probably to hold the toppings. Baseline, the pizza pizza portion was standard, it really is all about the interest toppings and culture fusion. My second favorite was the curry chicken, which honestly just tastes like curry chicken on a pizza. I don't think the combination was more than the sum of its parts. Same with the sweet chili, which is surprising. I bet they keep the real heat for the workers. I think the only other standout was the jerk sauce. I personally prefer a sweeter jerk. This one was more on the slightly spicy savory side. It's good, I just wouldn't recommend it on the salmon.

Okay so I feel like I've been honestly depriving myself of an experience that I've been waiting to have! DID YOU KNOW THAT CUTS &SLICES HAS VEGAN OPTIONS? This is not a drill. Please share with your vegan friends because the pizza was delicious! Me and friend made sure this was a "must have" on our trip to nyc. I've always heard phenomenal things but now was the time that I would get to try it out for the first time. The pizza was so flavorful and freshly made. Above all I really valued the customer service experience. The cashier was patient knowledgeable and offered great recommendations. Can't wait to come back and try it out.

I had a pleasant visit over this location which would be my 2nd of the 3 spots located in the NYC metro area. 5 stars would be an insult to this place as I was treated very well and had a decent stay overall. The location is a bit on the small side but has ample amount of seating which I was lucky to come up to while the place was empty before it filled up with both customers and kids coming from school. I did get here around a quarter to 3 so it's to be expected. The lady behind the counter was very courteous and welcoming, even guided me through a few slices I wanted to try but couldn't get the names of. My initial reason coming here was for the Sweet Chili Oxtail Fries which was certainly on display, I also ordered a Chicken & Waffles Slice along with a Curry Chicken Slice which came up to $30. I put in a $6 tip in advance because I know the food is gonna be just as good as the service. The chef in the back was also awesome as well, he must've noticed my tip and slipped in an extra slice of sweet chili chicken. The workers here are awesome, makes me feel stoked to visit the Manhattan location in due time though I'll certainly return here in the future. The Oxtail Fries which are exclusive to the Queens location had quite a nice kick to it added with the meat of the Shredded Oxtail complimented with the fries in which that alone in and of itself is filling. Good thing it didn't overwhelm me because I wanted to take on the slices I got though the Oxtail Fries are for sure a solid recommendation for those going to the Queens area. The Curry Chicken Slice of course has it's spice, it's seasoned very well and blends surprisingly well with the texture of the pizza slice. Have a drink with you ready, the curry will test your taste buds. The Chicken & Waffle slice is a nice contrast from the spicy half of the food I had so it served as the perfect pallette cleanser. It was sweet and savory, breaded Chicken, Waffles, syrup, what more could you ask for? Last but not least the Sweet Chili Chicken, at this point I was close to stuffed but I toughed it out and finished this slice which as the name entails, sweet, a kick of spice and tender chicken added with the texture of the slice. Places like this are awesome, very experimental with the pizza perspective with very good results to show for it, top notch service and a good surrounding crowd which made me feel at ease, it's a great community spot. Yes this joint will run your pockets for the food is not cheap but it is worth EVERY PENNY.

As seen on 'Good morning America', I am beyond thankful to have tried this place. The ambiance is vibrant and soulful, and the staff is friendly + service is on point. Me and my Grandmother walked in and were served under 5 minutes with our food to go. We ordered 2 slices of the Jerk chicken pizza and 1 slice of the curry oxtail pizza. When I tell you that this pizza hit a home run! The jerk chicken slice had warm and flavorful spice filled notes, with the authentic Jamaican heat! Additionally, the fresh peppers and ingredients were all the more delicious! The curry oxtail was nice and juicy and this slice of pizza was pure comfort! This establishment is a staple of NY pizza, married with Caribbean flavors! Cheers to good eats!

I ordered a slice of the Sweet Chili Oxtail pizza, taking the suggestion of the two servers behind the counter who stated that it is the most popular slice; and I am glad that I did because it was delicious. The sweet chili was not overpowering and had just a touch of sweetness, and the meat was fork tender. The price was $12.50, which is understandable because oxtail is expensive. I came on a Sunday at noon when they opened up the doors, so the pizza was already nice and hot. It did not even need any warming up. Thanks to my Yelp Elite friend Lawrence C. for recommending this establishment. Next time I go on a Sunday drive to Brooklyn, I will go to the OG shoppe in Bedford-Stuyvesant so I can compare and contrast.

After reading g the reviews, I knew I had to try this during my next pizza craving. I got two slices: curry chicken and brown stew oxtail. I loved the curry chicken and I am really not a curry person. It was just the right blend of hot and tasty. Not a lot of extra stuff on the slice just chicken and curry and I loved it. Now I wanted to also love the brown stew oxtail but I could not. It was not what I expected and I think that jaded my opinion. I LOVE oxtail and really expected like oxtail chunks (just like with the chicken) but what I got was more like an oxtail paste and it just did not hit my taste buds the way I wanted. The crust on both slices was perfect: thin with nice exterior crunch and soft inside. My only real complaint is size! For the amount laid, I expected two hefty slices but as you can see they were pretty small. The service was excellent and pleasant and very patient with me as I asked a million questions just to make up my mind. While they have like 3 small tables, it is not really an eat in sorts place...best to pick up and go...which everyone was doing. Will I go back? Not sure. I really wanted the slice size to be worth the $$ spent (thus why only 4 stars) but I will bring my son and his kids here just to try something different.

Staff were super friendly and helpful with suggestions. The pizza was good but I expected more from the hype it's gotten. I got an oxtail and salmon truffle pizza. The oxtail was definitely my favorite. It was sweet and a little spice. Overall is was good pizza but expected more for the price. There are tables available inside if you wish to eat at the store but there aren't a lot of seats.

So tasty, fresh and full of variety. Logistically I like this located better than BK. Feels more physically acceptable. I had jerk chicken pizza two days in a row, it was so good. Definitely will be back!

I've had oxtail pizza before, but these slices were next level. So fresh and no flavor was more overpowering than the other. The slices weren't super oily yet still managed to not be dry. The staff was super friendly and were good about managing the line and helping make the time we did spend waiting fly by. So happy this location in Queens opened so I won't have to go all the way to Brooklyn to get a slice. Looking forward to going back and trying something different the next time.

Last week my wife had ordered us some pizza from the famous cuts&slices . I had a chopped cheese slice along with a jerk chicken slice. My wife had a oxtail slice along with salmon slice as well. This was our first time ordering from cuts&slices. We both enjoyed our pizza, i liked the jerk chicken slice better then the chopped cheese slice. But they both were tasty. Did it live up to the hype, it was good . My wife enjoyed her slices as well. Good spot for some everything kind of pizza. A little pricey but a treat once and a while for your self and your family.

The pizza had a firm under carriage. Thin sauce. And a thick cheesey top layer. The sauce was a miss for me. It was soupy and didnt have much flavor. It works as a binding element to the firm crust and cheesey layer. Great for the traditional NY fold. After the first bite, the sauce just splattered to the plate. Its an average slice. Decent and solid.

I tried a vite and thought it was ok, a bit more freshness from the sauce and all. But I waited for the simple cheese that always hits. I mentioned the pizza tasted better when we got slice that was reheated last time vs the whole pie. Gentleman confirmed yes reheating the slice makes for crisper crust and tastier pizza. He offered to make the whole pie well done and let it rest few minutes and pop it back in oven to reheat. It def was better than the last whole pie but I still think slice was better lol. Maybe pizza really needs to cool down a lot before reheating. Either way we loved it yet again, and kid brought the 2 slices leftover all the way back to LA, lol. Maybe I'll steal a bite whenever that gets reheated toasted up in the air fryer lol.

This is, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced…read more I was really pulling for this place. I wanted it to succeed. I told everyone about it, that it was some of the best pizza in New York. I gave them so many chances. Last night was the final straw. Made a reservation for Friday night at 8PM. We arrived at 8:05. The waitress who's basically always there, who sounds like she smokes about a pack a day, was the only waitress there that night. I felt for her, but also, not my problem. We didn't receive water or a full set of utensils and menu until about 8:15. At about 8:25, she took our order, and we ordered a few apps and calzone and pizza. I had to ask for my coke about 4 times until she remembered to bring it. Water was NEVER refilled. We were never asked if we were ok. Around 8:50, we finally received our apps. It was ok, they've made it better in the past. Ambiance was starting to die down as the restaurant was clearing out. We felt a bit bad for her, but also, this wasn't our fault, that they were unprepared for a Friday night rush (her words). By 9:15, we were furious and our moods were ruined. We sat down at 8:05, ordered before 8:30, we were the only ones left and our pizza and calzone were yet to be found. Shortly before 9:30, it arrived. And again, it was pretty good, but not wait over an hour for it good. I wanted this place to succeed. The pizza maker from Italy deserves a better crew. The waitress doesn't know how to be a waitress, at all. No apologies, not taking anything off the check, not checking on us. There's no busboy, no one dedicated to take out, no manager. It seems that everyone plays each others roles, and quite poorly. They've lost a loyal customer tonight. We will NEVER give this place another try.

What started out as a snafu, turned into a lovely afternoon…read more We arrived for our reservation for 15 people on a snowy afternoon to find only 1 person working and no record of our reservation. Alessandro was wonderful and worked so hard to accommodate us all by himself. We decided to keep it simple and order a bunch of pizzas to share as well as a family style salad. Pizza was served one type at a time, it felt like a pizza tasting menu and I loved every second of it. We started off the the Margherita, which was simple and delicious. His dough is perfectly springy and light, but also has great flavor as does the sauce. Prosciutto Pie included mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto and shaved Parmigiano cheese. Another delicious version, you can feel the high quality of the ingredients with this one. Salsiccia Pie used a spicy soppressata, tomato sauce and mozzarella. It's hard to believe but each "course" seemed to be better than the last. Svetonio Pie has meatballs, tomato sauce, ricotta, crispy pancetta, kalamata olives and basil. This was the most complex pie in terms of flavors, but they all worked so well together. The Arugula Salad with cherry tomato red onion, mozzarella cubes was the perfect acidic accompaniment to the pizzas. The restaurant itself is small and rustic, but it felt so homey and made for a perfect spot for our little celebration. Everyone agreed the pizza was excellent all around. I can't wait to return to try more of the menu.
