Vegetarian Power Bowl - fried tofu, avocado, crispy quinoa, beans, rice and a garlic sauce that was heavenly!

The best hidden gem in Fairview Allen. Had seen this place off Stacey Road in the shopping center the old Sonic's was in and popped in last Saturday after the gym with my husband. While small - this 9 table gem is bustling and hustling serving up phenomenal Colombian dishes, coffees and pastries. Great staff, amazing food and they even have a full liquor license. We'll absolutely be adding this to our local restaurant rotation!

Upon entering , we were greeted like we were locals. Ambiance was casual. The wall with various green plants with their amarillo mariposas wall gave it character. I guess I am more accustomed to Venezuelan arepas - that are fluffier. The arepa was flat, buttery and flavorful. The tostones were cold and hard but adding the aji sauce and egg lent it better flavor. Another table ordered empanadas. Will have to try that next time we come back to TX.

WOW best Colombian restaurant in the greater Dallas area. make sure you make reservations on weekends if you are going. We got lucky and were able to get seated upon arrival. its a small seating area that is clean sleek and well organized. service was simple clean and right on. but the food! the food is the star met the chef and she is amazing! full passion for great food and beverage experience! definitely worth it. they also have a pastry case for to go items. very well done!

Been wanting to try out Curuba for a while and finally made it in with a friend for lunch. I'd like to start by saying that the service is fantastic. The gentleman practically went over the entire menu with us which was much appreciated . We were constantly checked on and felt really welcomed. My friend got a coffee and said it was very good . We also tried the lulo and Maracuya juice . I highly recommend the lulo if you enjoy tart and sweet ( the maracuya was a bit too sweet for my liking ). We started off with the empanada sampler and Marcilla au gratin . Not big fans of the marcilla - way too much dairy . The sausage itself was good, but wouldn't get it again . Our favorite empanada was the calentao followed by the brisket. The chicken was just ok. We both agreed that our main course, the sancocho de costilla was yummy . If you're looking for a hearty soup that feels like a nice warm hug, I'd highly recommend . Overall, worth checking out . I'd come back to try other dishes and grab something from the bakery .

Great food! Super fresh and tasty. The servers are always very nice and fast. The restaurant was also very cozy.

Needed something different than the usual breakfast and found this gem on Yelp. I had no experience with Colombian food and if this is representative I'm in! Our waiter was so nice and helpful, led to me to the Arepitas plate. (Apparent owner also checked in on us.) Fresh, rich, and quite a welcome change! The dining room was super clean (with the added bonus of a view of the kitchen!) and the furnishings were new and fit with my personal taste. Definitely coming back...probably for dinner so I can try some cocktails or beer!

Came here for breakfast one morning with a friend, and it was overall really good. The owner was super kind and very helpful explaining the menu and giving recommendations. The juices were amazing, the appetizers were chose were decent. I really love blood sausage but we ordered the one with the cheese and it honestly wasn't my favorite. The empanadas were delicious though. And the soup I got was absolutely amazing full of flavor. The coffee was also very tasty.

Mi Burrito

Went to Curuba for breakfast and had the Curuba's Breakfast and a friend had the Mi Burrito. Sofia was our server and did a good job explaining some things on the menu. My eggs were overcooked but I really enjoyed the Arepa Boyacense. My friend's burrito was huge and he enjoyed it. Coffee and OJ were good (free with a Val Pak coupon). Will have to have to check them out at lunch.

My favorite lunch date spot with my girls! I love everything about this place from the close intimate setting to the food and service!

Tables and counter.

One of the few negatives is that this is a small store-front restaurant, with maybe 6 tables. The positives are that the female server is delightful and helpful, and the food is generally quite good. I had the chicken with mushrooms in sauce, with sautéed spinach and rice. I would have thought that a Spanish restaurant would have Spanish rice, but they only had white rice. That really wasn't a problem, as the sauce was really good and mixed well wiith the rice. The portion of chicken was generous, (2 flat pan-fried breast pieces), and with the sauce, quite tasty. However, the thin flattened chicken was a bit dense, so I requested extra sauce. The sautéed spinach was perfect. My partner had the brisket dog, which he said was very good. We had some sort of pineapple-flavored creamy cake for dessert, which was kept refrigerated, and served in the small plastic refrigerator box. The lid on it took off all the frosting when removed. We had mixed feelings about that dessert...very strong pineapple taste, and not a great way to serve it. We both had to try to eat out if the square plastic carton. The only other negative was their one unisex restroom, which meant standing in line in the hall right next to the clanking kitchen sounds. There was missing moulding as well as empty white pails in the restroom. Not a great atmosphere. There were also no purse hangers in the restroom and none at the table, either, which was inconvenient. Very nice couple who seemed to run it, and they prepared good food. I do recommend.

Curuba is now open for breakfast! We came across this hidden gem a few days ago, and so glad we did! Finally we have a great Colombian restaurant in this area! I am Colombian, and miss the flavors of my beautiful country! Found a little bit of that here! We tried arepitas, arepa ranchera, of course buñuelos, and everything was delicious!! We will definitely be coming back!

The ambience is nice with decorations and music (which is a little on the louder side.)The service has been great both times we have been . You scan a QR code to get the menu and place an order but they do come to the table to verify the order. They have a lot of options to choose from and we had ordered lamb, wagyu, beef with fat, chicken, mushroom, and corn which were all were very good. We also ordered the Yong Chou fried rice and Egg fried noodle and both were well seasoned and full of flavor. We will definitely be back to try more and highly recommend this place if you are in the Allen area

We visited Gao's Barbecue and Crab in Allen, Texas, after discovering the restaurant on TikTok…read more Unfortunately, our first dining experience left much to be desired. Our party ordered a variety of items, including the snow crab seafood boil with corn, broccoli, sweet potato, and fries, along with calamari, a mojito, and peach iced tea. Other members of our party ordered prawns, broccoli, cabbage, and seafood boils with additional ingredients. When we arrived, I specifically told our waitress that this was our first time dining at the restaurant and asked her to explain how everything worked. Instead of walking us through the ordering process, she simply instructed everyone to get on their phones and place their orders. The biggest issue was the lack of communication. At no point did she explain that orders could not be placed separately or that the sides were served family-style. As our food began arriving, we were confused about whose food was whose because several people had ordered similar items. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a confusing situation that interrupted our dining experience. After a lengthy and confusing conversation, we finally understood how the food was served. Had this information been communicated upfront, we could have avoided the unnecessary confusion and simply enjoyed our meal. Someone who I assumed was the manager eventually came out and attempted to make things right, and I appreciated the effort. However, the situation could have been avoided altogether with better communication and customer service from the beginning. To make matters worse, the check was also very confusing. I will include photos of the receipt so others can see what I mean. As for the food, I would say it was just okay. Nothing about the meal stood out enough to make me want to return, especially considering how stressful the overall experience was. By the time everything was sorted out, I honestly wasn't enjoying myself anymore. My recommendation to management is to invest in additional customer service training. When a customer tells you it's their first time visiting your establishment, that is your opportunity to explain the ordering process, how the food is served, and what to expect when the bill arrives. Customers should not have to figure everything out through trial and error, especially when a simple explanation could prevent the entire situation. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. Good food is important, but so is communication. This visit fell short in this area

Our server, Darcy, was friendly and did a great job. I had chicken sour cream enchiladas and my wife had beef fajitas. Our food quickly appeared and it was attacked. The place is not crowded at 7.30 p.m. but the bar was FULL of dirty dishes and dirty chairs. I put my hand to pull out the bar chair and sticky. The dude was doing absolutely nothing. He barely greeted me at entry - bar he said and I didn't stay and he just laughed as I walked out. Lost a sale and I doubt I'll go back nor will I tell others.
