Lamb & Paneer Chettinadu
John Y.

We were planning to try Shiva's, but we quickly realized that there was a band playing on the green and an incredible number of people - thinking we had no chance to be seated, we stood in line anyway. Surprise! they seated us with no problem - in part because they have lots of seating, but also the stiffest competition was for outside seating. I guess I would describe Shiva's decor as funky, modern Indian - very cozy, inviting and unmistakenly Indian. The staff were excellent - friendly, efficient, & kind. We were immediately seated and then had a discussion about the various menu options. I got a a large Taj Mahal beer (it's been a while) and the lamb Chettinadu with paneer added. I went with 9/10 spice level and was chastened to see it described as "American Hot" on the receipt. My wife did a mild, lamb Nilgiri and the garlic naan. Our waiter's guidance was spot on! We really enjoyed everything. My Chettinadu was rich, earthy, and complex - I would definitely order it again (after I try out some of their other offerings). The paneer addition was a really good move. The spice level was perfect - for the first 3 bites I was wondering if I should have upped it, but by bite 4 it was game on. It was spicy excellence that was not overwhelming. My wife was also impressed by her Nilgiri - she said it reminded her of a green mole from Mexico. I look forward to returning to Shiva's - great ambiance, service and food at reasonable prices - what more can you ask for? You should do yourself a favor and visit them too.

Amazing food! Great service. We have tried soo many Indian restaurants throughout the DFW and this one is by far the best food and service we've ever had. We eat here a few times a month and it has been consistently on point, perfect flavor, presentation, speed of service, no complaints. One of the times we went they had live music which was fun.

Me and my coworkers were in town for a conference and this restaurant was in the shopping center right across from the convention center We were at. My coworkers had never tried Indian food before and so they were excited to go to this place. Everything was delicious and the vibe in the ambience inside was awesome. I ordered the seekh kebab lunch special. I didn't have an opportunity to try any of their cocktails because it was lunchtime, but they looked very good.

It's my birthday! And I eat Indian food every year so I decided to try out this place cause the reviews were pretty stellar. I was concerned about the price but they have a lunch special during the week that's actually pretty reasonable. I got the "Indian Summer" cocktail which wasn't super strong but very flavorful. For lunch I got the aloo gobi lunch set because I'm vegetarian. The lentil soup was very tasty and full of flavor. The aloo gobi was different than I'm used to as it wasn't actually a curry (which is what I thought I was getting) but the cauliflower and potatoes were very nice. Then there was some type of paneer curry that was good. And the naan was very buttery and blended well with the paneer curry. It was a lot of food for 14 bucks! The only two things I have bad to say is that occasionally the service was kind of slow even though there were only three tables of customers. And I ordered my food spicy and it wasn't. I later found out it was labeled on the check as "American spicy" so if you're a white person like me that can handle your spice, make sure they make it Indian spicy! Great ambiance, decent if slow service, and excellent food. Definitely worth trying especially during lunchtime!

Food is absolutely exquisite. As a Desi this was reminds me of home cooking. The staff and service were also excellent and the music or ambience is amazing.

As you walk into this beautiful establishment, it is just the beginning of a great experience! Thus why this one is saved for review number 1300! The bar can stir up some drinks that will get your mind ready for a delightful meal! The kitchen magicians ensured no cilantro at my request and this has become my new favorite Indian Restaurant this side of the Atlantic (and Pacific)! Seriously, this is the best one I've eaten at in decades! My DIL is my guru for Indian fare. She knows very well how sensitive to flavors, spices, and aromas I am plus knows what I will enjoy. Thus, she picked this place. The staff of this restaurant made more than just an effort to take care of me. They impressed me with exceptionally made dishes, fine details in the plating, and flavors that delighted my taste buds! Price is very reasonable! We'll be back!

This restaurant has great decor inside and a great ambiance. They do have a bar if you're in the mood for a drink. We started off with a few appetizers to try which included samosas and onion pakora. Both were really good, and I highly recommend it. I ended up ordering the chicken tikka masala which ended up being creamier than what I'm used to. I asked for a level 7 spice, but next time, I know to ask for a higher level of spice. It was really good and flavored well. Service is a little slow, but other than that, I recommend for good Indian food.

First time visiting Shivas and definitely not our last. This small spot located in Allen was just what the city needed, great Indian food! My spouse and I had Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Vindaloo and regular Naan. It was amazing! I regret not trying a mango lassi or samosas. Service was ok at first, but improved as the night went on. Our server, Memo, was great. Prices are a bit on the higher end compared to other local similar restaurants. Only reason for 4 star review was restaurant was hot, didn't feel any air movement. Looking forward to our next visit.

We were in Allen for work and had lunch at Shiva's Bar and Grill. The ambiance is fantastic, and we love the food and service. We ordered the lentil soup, and it was super yummy! I am craving it again as I write this review. We ordered their set vegetarian lunch option for the main course, which was finger-licking good. We will be visiting again soon!

Veggie samosa

Recently tried and enjoyed it overall. The veggie samosas were really good and steaming hot. The garlic naan was also very delicious! We got an order of butter chicken and rice, with spice level 7. It wasn't very spicy but actually a little sweet, will bump it to an 8 level next time to see if it helps a little.

Chicken Tikka Masala Lunch Special

The service was great. I got to try a couple lunch specials & their specialty biryani. Everything was delicious! The lunch specials are a great deal as it includes soup or salad, rice, naan, & dessert! The inside also looks really nice & I like that they have a full bar too.

Very creamy and flavorful, and the chicken was so incredibly tender Tikka Masala - 5/5 basically it's the butter chicken plus bell peppers and onions. I didn't think it could get better than the butter chicken but that's exactly how to make it better, in my book. Naan - 3/5. One of the weaker naans in the area. Can't tell that the butter naan has any butter on it and it's not very fluffy. Rice - 2/5. I just want plain rice on the side. Whatever I got had far too much going on and I didn't like the flavor when trying to eat my curry. Chicken 65 - 5/5 absolutely spot on delicious. Interior - 2/5. Typical for this genre of restaurant...this is not the sort of place I'd want to dine in. You certainly can, but it's lacking on the interior. I picked up my second order from here and would not recommend dining in. Service - N/A since I did not dine in. Price - 4/5 Overall I'm super excited about this being my new takeout place. I've tried a lot of basic white girl Indian dishes around the area and this one is by far the best. I just wish their naan was better and their rice was plain. Realistically I should give the place a 4/5 for that, but their chicken tikka is just that good.

The person at the register was very rude and was reluctant to give us a to-go box. Ambiance was okay, but the atmosphere was just not good because of the service. They didn't bring the food to the table. The presentation of the food was terrible, just thrown onto these plastic plates. The dahi puri was terrible - no flavor, chai was not good, and the Chicken 65 was really a chicken salaan. Highly do not recommend. Will not be back.

The dining area is spacious and flexible, with seating that works well for individuals, couples, and larger groups. Everything was clean, and the dining area smelled of Indian spices. There is also a separate dining room available for parties, which is a nice touch. Ordering is straightforward and efficient: you walk up to the counter, place and pay for your order, the food is delivered to your table and you enjoy it. I appreciated how generous the breakfast combos are each one comes with a good amount of food. We ordered a breakfast combo with all of our favorites: dosa, upma, idli, sambar, and vada. The dosa was well-fermented, crisp, and flavorful. The upma was soft and comforting, with a moist, fluffy texture and was well seasoning. The idli was light and fluffy, and the sambar had just the right of flavor to complement it. The vada was crisp on the outside, tender inside, and paired especially well with the sambar. We finished our meal with a masala chai and left very satisfied. The prices were reasonable for the quantity and quality of food served. Eat Streets Indian Kitchen is definitely a keeper for us and a spot we will return to when we are in the area.
