Chicken Tikka Masala Garlic Naan Chicken but

After finishing our sunset cruise at 10pm, we were starving and stumbled upon curry leaf, so we decided to give it a try. Honestly, it was one of the strangest restaurant experiences I've ever had. We ordered an even tipped, but then the man behind the counter, told us to get our own plates, cutlery cups, and water. When the food was ready, we also had to pick it up ourselves. At that point, I was half expecting him to ask me to wash the dishes too. As for the food, it really wasn't great especially if you're Pakistani and know how authentic flavors. Maybe it's appeals more to Americans but for us it definitely wasn't worth the visit. Here's what we got: 2/5 stars-Seeks Kabab (I was expecting more than just one). Could have been at least two vs one for the price we paid. 1/5 stars- garlic naan was not good at alll! 3/5 stars- the chicken biryani was okay nothing special!!! Skip this particular place if you can! Still not sure why I tipped, when I did all the work hahah

this place surprised me! when you arrive you are seated and handed menus. after deciding you go up to the counter to order your food. plates and utensils are self serve as well as drinks upon ordering. i got the mango lassi and it was creamy and not too sweet! we started with the samosas which had a perfect crisp to them. the filling was well seasoned and spice. some parts weren't cooked fully though and so it was a bit doughy. for our main we ordered, the beef nihari which was something we've never tried before. when I first tried it I didn't really know what to make the flavor but it quickly grew on me. it was spicy and had a unique flavor I can't really describe. it felt somewhat similar to Vietnamese bo kho. the beef itself was tender and easy to eat. the garlic naan was addicting! so crispy but still a little soft in the middle. garlic was there but not overpowering. my boyfriend and I shared a portion but I was tempted to get more. it was a great meal that warmed us up after getting caught in the rain :)

I finally tried this delicious food. The service was very nice, and in a gorgeous location in the North Beach district of SF. I go the chicken keema w/ potatoes to go. I'd love to try more items on their menu the next time I'm in the area. The food is very spicy btw, wish I love.

Curry Leaf is an Indian and Pakistani restaurant in Russian Hill with flavorful vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The restaurant had indoor seating, good for small groups and you order/pay at the kiosk before your food comes out. The ambiance can be described as casual and the prices are very reasonable. The food is a little sweeter and less spicier than the average Indian restaurant, but the portion sizes are good. The chicken biryani was a good pick and paired well with the chicken karahi. The mushroom keema was also something that was new to me. It was flavorful and was a good pick with the naan.

We ordered to go for this India restaurant. Little overpriced only ordered 3 entrees and 2 garlic naan and chicken tikka masala costed almost $68. Garlic naan was so soggy. Doesn't recommended for to go. They gave you a lot of rice but too little chickens. Masala was over power too spicy. Make sure you tell them mild.

Ordered the Chicken Roll wraps and Mango lassi. Chicken rolls were very good. We ordered it Spicy and it had a nice kick. The sauce is also smoky in flavor which I liked. Paired with the tamarind and green chutney, it was very good. Would definitely recommend.

What would I do without Yelp!!!?? ;P After spending a few days in SF's Fisherman's Wharf area and enjoying meal after meal of seafood, fish n chip and clam chowder, we were craving something different and Yelp! came to rescue! We found Curry Leaf on Columbus Street and it is somewhat a hole in the wall. The restaurant is smaller, but very clean and comfortable, and seats about 20 comfortably. We walked in at about 6:45p and were asked to grab the menus and seat ourselves anywhere, and to walk back up to the cashier to place our order whenever we're ready. By the time we left at 7.30p, the restaurant was 90% full. We opted for a Vegetarian Samosa appetizer (excellent, and nice & spicy!), lamb wrap (really good( with balanced flavor), and a boneless chicken biriyani (very good and offered at a very generous portion!). Everything tasted very good and prices are very reasonable and on the cheaper side. Overall a very pleasant meal and enjoyable dining experience. Thumbs Up!

Open late, reasonably priced, flavorful cuisine. Curry leaf is a gem. While most people order this place on a delivery app- I think hot and fresh Indian food tastes much better than Indian food cooked 45 minutes ago. That being said ambiance here is no frills but it is clean and the service is attentive. You order at the counter and you have to pick up your food when it's ready. I really enjoy the Bengan Bharta, fish tandoori and samosas here. The bharta is one of the best I've ever had. The fish tandoori is a mix of smoky and flavorful. Samosas are soft but pack a punch. The ctm is good but certainly not the best and the sabzi is good but simple. Overall I recommend eating here and it is worth a stop even at 10p on a Saturday. Nothing I've ever eaten here has been below good.

    Saag Dal

Curry Leaf wasn't even our original dinner spot but when we walked by there was such a flavorful delicious aroma coming from the restaurant that we just had to at least stop by for a snack. I'm suuuuper duper glad that we did stop by and try out some dishes because everything was sooo incredibly flavorful and packed with spices. We got the chicken biryani (so many different spices and packed a lil spicy punch too!). The rice and chicken were both not too dry but the rice was really the star with how delectable it was. We also got the saag dal and it was also very flavorful. The spices are definitely less punchy than in the biryani but it made for a great pairing to the rice. Lentils and spinach were plentiful. There were so many other yummy looking things on the menu that I wished we chose more dishes to try but even then we did not finish the two that we had ordered so portion sizes are solid. Service was quick and easy as you order your food up front and then you pick up at the same counter. The restaurant itself is small/mid sized but still with enough seating. I hope to be able to come back and try more things!

Living la Vida Loca…read more.. It's always a good day when tacos are involved, and even a better day when they are absolutely delicious! La Vaca Birria is counter service- you order at the counter, you pick up your food at the counter. The menu is fairly simple, and who needs overly extensive when what you're ordering is hitting a 10 out of 10 in taste and flavor ?!? Working backwards, the Horchata is delicious! I often find that when I order Horchata at different restaurants, it's either been watered down, or somethings going on with it where it's locking the fullness in flavor. Chips- house made. Perfectly crunchy, definitely tasty, could have used salt or some seasoning. I still enjoyed them. I ordered three birria tacos with consommé. ( combo #4) with the plan being that I would enjoy one and have the other two later on. These were so good, that I finished all three. The meat is tender, flavorful, and the overall flavor profile super tasty. The consommé did exactly what it was supposed to do and added a layer of flavor to the tacos. I found that that's not always the case, but this was definitely the exception. The tacos were fairly light on the filling, which is why I was able to finish all three. The added bonus is the house made churro that comes in the combo. Who doesn't like a tasty churro? Services nonexistence since it's a counter situation. Are you getting the biggest bang for your buck here? No, not really. It's pretty pricey for the offerings. The meal cost pretty close to $30. Definitely not cheap eats. Go for the deliciousness!

I ordered the chicken and beef kabob plate, and while the meat was flavorful, I wish they included more hummus. At around $25- $30 per plate, I expected a more generous portion. I ordered takeout and arrived about an hour later because the app never updated to show my order was ready. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and they didn't start preparing my food until I got there. I mentioned that I had placed the order an hour earlier and expected it to be ready, but the server seemed to brush off my concern, which was disappointing. One highlight was the hot sauce. I'm not sure if it's house-made or not, but it's so good. The pita, however, was a letdown. I prefer my pita soft, fluffy, and warm, but this one was hard and grainy. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We shared one breakfast platter, and it was more than enough for us. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. The biggest disappointment was the Turkish coffee. I had been telling my husband how amazing authentic Turkish coffee can be because I had previously visited a Turkish café in San Mateo where the coffee was served in a traditional pot alongside Turkish delights, allowing you to refill your small cup. I expected something similar here. Instead, we each received only a tiny cup for around $5, which felt more like ordering a small espresso. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't live up to our expectations. The service was another area that could be improved. We arrived early and were ready to order, but we waited quite a while before anyone came to our table. During that time, I noticed another table that had arrived after us was greeted, had their order taken, and thus received their food before we were served. That was a little frustrating. One small inconvenience is that there is only one restroom for the restaurant. Despite those issues, the food was excellent, and that's what matters most. We would absolutely come back for the Turkish breakfast because it was truly delicious. Overall, I'd give this place 4 out of 5 stars. With a little improvement in service and a more memorable Turkish coffee experience, it would easily be a 5-star restaurant.

Parking for this location was very difficult, especially when you visit on a busy day. The atmosphere is moody and dark which is perfect for a date night. I ordered - Burma Chicken Mint - Nan Pia Dok - Tea leaf salad We started off with the tea salad since it was highly suggested by our waiter. I love the amount of toppings they add onto the salad and having it served table side is even better. For the salad, it was more savory and the flavor was light which helped bring out the salad more; which is a positive. The Nan Pia Dok noodles were also served table side and honestly, this was good but not quite extraordinary. Eventually halfway, the noodles lost its flavor and just felt like stir fried noodles with toppings. This was also more of a savory dish. The Burma Chicken Mint dish was also somewhat delicious but fell short towards the end as it tasted exactly what it looks like. It's not bad but does get boring fast. If you love spicy food then I highly recommend getting this; otherwise it's not really for me. The service is honestly top notch, can't really complain when the person serving you the salad is extremely friendly which breaks the awkward silence every now and then. Overall, I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes as I'm venturing into newer territory, and honestly that's okay. The service and food was decent enough for me to give it another chance. The salad was honestly the best thing to get here.

For the daily caffeine, I opted for a Vietnamese coffee. The verdict? Love. Everything was delicious, and I especially liked their crispy fried chicken. We both loved that the batter wasn't too heavy on the salt, and that the meat was still juicy despite being fried to a satisfying crunch. The French toast and Waffles were also delicious and buttery. Nasi goreng, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. Maybe my expectation was too high, but the fried rice just didn't hit the spot. Their Vietnamese coffee was also pretty mid, since I've had it much better elsewhere. These slight misses won't stop me from picking them over Plow though. I love that they have more of the menu variety that resonates with my tastebuds, and I will definitely be returning there.
