Service and food were good overall. It wasn't that busy, but our table was dirty when we first sat down. Bill Clinton and Guy Fierari have eaten there. I can't wait to try their new "chai corner" that they just opened next door.

Saw them on the food Chanel and decided to give them a try. The place had only two people on a Friday night at 5 30. Thought that was strange. The young server was very patient and polite about answering our many questions. I didn't recognize the names of the dishes although I eat a lot of Indian food. He was helpful. Tandoori and korma and saag were familiar. One of us opted for the familiar chicken biryani. Super generous portion but the rice had a vinegary finish to it. Not used to that. The medium spice was indeed spicy. I opted for the non vegetarian thali. Had chicken agri, basmati, dal, yogurt and super vinegary pickled onions. I don't know if I should call them pickled--pure vinegar on onions. They need to fix that or leave them off the plate. I liked the dal, chicken, yogurt and rice. The other person had two appetizers samosas which she loved and tika masala fries. Not very authentic but she liked them. Prices were reasonable and the service was friendly aiming to please.

I heard about Curry Corner on local radio when someone called it "sensational," which set a pretty high bar--and it absolutely delivered. We started with the Aloo Tikka: solid, but probably not a repeat order for us. The real stars were the chicken and shrimp curry, chicken tikka masala, the sizzler sampler, and the garlic naan. Now I get the hype. Hands down, this is the best curry and tikka masala we've ever had. The meat was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care. Service was a bit on the slower side, but we weren't in a rush, so it didn't detract from the experience at all. This is officially a new go-to for our family--we've already agreed it's a once-a-month minimum. So glad we tried it, and we'll absolutely be back.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Curry Corner in Tempe and it was fabulous. I was craving something different and hadn't been here in a while and had to show him their fries. If you go you HAVE to get the fries. They're seasoned to perfection and just SO good. They are the perfect sharing size too. I tried the chicken rajashtani and it was so creamy and tasty. I loved the chicken chunks and we both upgraded to garlic naan which was worth it. I brought half of mine home as leftovers for dinner the next day. Our server said it was their first day but was still super friendly. It was pretty packed inside but our dinner didn't take long at all. I think it's a perfect casual dining spot.

I have been meaning to try this place for awhile now and saw a post by someone regarding their new location that opened in East Mesa. I was immediately greeted by a nice gentleman that was doubling as host & server. I placed my order for takeout, Biriyani w/lamb and asked for it to be spicy. They definitely serve good size servings which included a small side of salad with a tasty, tangy dressing. Everything was seasoned well, but just a warning the lamb they use (i believe a chop), is served with meat on the bone, so be careful with bone fragments in the biriyani. It's a medium size restaurant that is simply decorated. I will be back to try other items on their menu.

This is the BEST Indian food in the valley. It's in a small building in Tempe, but the flavors and authenticity of the food is unbeatable. I have eaten here dozens of times since I went to ASU 6 years ago. I live in Queen Creek and still drive the 45 minutes to Tempe just to get the food here. This is a must try when in Tempe. It also travels very well for take out. The service is very nice and helpful when exploring the menu.

I am still learning about middle eastern cuisine so the chef described some entrees. I told her about a Pakistani dish I really enjoyed and she made me a similar chicken dish that isn't even on the menu! What I love about middle eastern food is that it is so fragrant and a full scale sensory overload. It looks, smells and tastes all at once. Khadija was adorable and very outgoing. I was super impressed by the whole vibe. All of the other patrons were probably far more familiar with the cuisine, but we felt welcome and were so honored that they presented something off the menu for me. I plan to try the regular menu dishes next time. The naan is outstanding, too.

I happen to pass it the other day and put it in my Yelp want to go list. This morning I'm like what am I in the mood for and Indian food came to mind. I went walk through Yelp & this came up for Indian Food. Now it is a combined international food experience a blend of middle eastern and Indian. I did the buffet and it did not disappoint. Curries, naan, salad bar, and a juice buffet also. The juice buffet won me fresh and great choices cucumber lime mint, watermelon mixed with something, & mango mixed with something (didn't matter it was liquid crack as they all were good). Our server was probably one of the worst servers I have ever had. Zero personality and literally never said one word to us. Several to go orders and Uber Eats people came in and out while we waited about 10 minutes. We finally told the man at the front desk that we needed to order and get some drinks. Server came over with his notepad and looked at us to take orders, didn't say a word. When he brought the dishes, a few minutes later, he literally plopped all of them in one spot in the table without making any attempt to remember which dish went to which person. Very odd behavior The dishes on the menu are clearly marked vegetarian, vegan or contains meat. We had two dishes that were supposed to be vegan, one was a saag dish which they had placed butter over the top of. It looked delicious to everyone, but the vegans who could not eat it. When we pointed it out, they made no attempt to offer us another dish and just said oh yes, that's ghee (clarified butter) we said the menu indicated it was vegan, but again no response. The two vegans at our table just decided rather than argue, they will share the rice dish, which was also indicated as vegan. As they started to eat it, they realized there were several pieces of paneer in it. I really hope this was a one off because this was one of my favorite places to eat Indian food. Very very disappointing and no accommodation for the inedible dishes.

The Dhaba does not disappoint either, and deserve every five star review they get. Mental note to self, go down a level in heat to a 2 when ordering because they do it spicy! Their garlic naan was awesome, and the Chicken Tikka Masala was wonderful. The portion size was just right. The true winner however was the Tandoori chicken. We did a half order of it, and decided next time we would do a full order and an order of the Butter chicken to split. The waiters and owners were very attentive, and it was a pleasant atmosphere on the inside. Parking is a bit tight out front but there is plenty of parking out back.

However, when we came back so excited for more it was a weird experience here. We came at 5pm especially to try the banana Bajji listed as an option between 5pm-7pm only to be told it's not available. Then tried to order the Kara Kuzhambu with the lentil dumplings and told lentil dumplings not available anymore only okra/ eggplant option for this. The restaurant vibe felt really odd in general. We kind of felt like they weren't sure if they wanted to be open right now or something. The tables were not clean from lunch and they didn't get back to us when we asked questions. We decided to leave and come back another time given the great first experience. The next day, we decided to try again at lunch when the restaurant seems to do most of the business and I called to double check they have the Kara Kuzhambu with eggplant/ okra options just in case and two people seemed to have no idea what I am talking about. I spelled it, explained it's on the menu and it's a tamarind based curry- nothing. The dish I tried here before was very good and I really appreciate that their menu is marked for allergies and different diets. It seems to be very popular among Indian people and a fun cultural experience at weekend brunch/ lunch. However, the service felt really weird and unwelcoming this time and with the dishes listed on the menu but not being available it was a let down. The waiter told us the banana bajji and the lentil dumplings were discontinued completely so it was a bummer they are still listed on the menu. This confusing and unwelcoming exprience led to a big rating difference from me even though I really liked the food I tried in my first visit as well as the atmosphere. Still happy for that super fun first memory here though! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
