I just didn't get it. I was so excited after all the reviews so maybe my expectations were just high. The buffet was more of a snack bar with not many options as compared to other places like it. The chicken was dry (butter chicken I expected moist), tandoori chicken was cold(I got there when they opened), the nan was thin and over cooked, the bone in goat...... We were looking for some good North Indian take out food. Some of the restaurants in the Lynwood - Bothell area seem more South Indian inclined. We ordered tandoori chicken and shahi paneer. Both were really good, and decent quantity as well. The paneer specially was one of the better ones around. Don't be discouraged by the location and appearance of this place. My friends and I were craving Indian and we're coming out of a meeting at 3:00 when a lot of places are closed before dinner. The interior doesn't look all that great but for the most part it's clean and bright. They have entree plates with limited options. Some of the options had little left and there didn't appear to be anyone in the kitchen cooking more. I went with basmati rice, butter chicken, and a mixed vegetable curry. There's complimentary water and we seated ourselves after ordering at the counter. The food was hot, flavorful, and delicious. I wish there was a bit more chicken/protein in the curries but they were very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The waiter brought us some hot naan which was light and delicious. He was very friendly and even brought my friend an extra helping for free! All in all a great little spot with tasty Indian, check it out. read more

The "best Indian food in Everett" fails to live up to it. Got the Chicken Nizami Korma. The curry was watery, and bland with no taste and didn't even seem to have any salt in it. Literally looked like they took some leftover curry and mixed water in it. You could see some water separate from the actual curry. I'm sure this is not how it usually tastes given the other reviews, but if they were out of it, they shouldn't have tried to pass whatever they gave me as a korma. I found this place on yelp and after reading all the 5-star reviews I was really excited about trying this place. I walked in with my family and was promptly agreed and seated. Place is super clean and quite. The owner even came by at one point and asked if we wanted something else besides what they had on the buffet. The restrooms were really clean, maybe the most clean I've ever seen at a restaurant and no odor. Now let's get to the food. The food was not as great as people are saying. All the curries were watered down but the chicken and paneer was cooked properly and tasty. Needless to say we did not eat much of the buffet but the veggie pakoras and chai was really good! My husband told me I probably thought the pakoras were really good because the rest of the buffet food was not lol But I still stand by my review definitely try the pakora and Indian chai. I wanted to try out their buffet at the new Evergreen way location. It was ok and could be better. I think there needs to be more choices for hot and I was disappointed about the cold section.They had some weird jello fluff instead of the mango pudding that I was hoping to get. I have not had a better restaurant experience in recent memory than I have had the 2 times I have been to Curries this month. I came for the lunch buffet and was surprised at how well kept the restaurant is, as well as how fresh and flavorful the food is. I was so impressed with the buffet that i ordered take out to pick up a few weeks later and the food was just as appealing and fresh as it had been my previous visit. Additionally the service was exceptional. As my party approached the buffet we were told a bit about the dishes and which might be too spicy for some, and we were checked on several times during our meal to make sure we had what we needed. The same level of care was extended when I picked up my to go order, I was offered suggestions on the best methods to reheat and the host was genuinely concerned that I get the best experience from the food possible. My company relocated from Lynnwood to Everett, and the disappointment of no longer being close enough to my favorite sushi place to pop in for lunch anymore was quickly closing in. I pass this place on my way to work every morning. Now, the location is pretty much downright SCARY. Anyone who knows Everett knows that that area of Casino Road is just best left avoided, for sure. But, since I'm a die-hard fan of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (mmm....food porn), I have come to realize that the best food is often found in those spots that make you wonder if you SHOULD start carrying mace. So today my tummy starts talking to me and the salad I brought for lunch is, well, too salady so I start considering my lunch options. Now - my business park has a teriyaki place on site. Great for convenience, but I feel the price is on the high side for the quality of food you receive (I'm sure they make a killing off all us too-lazy-to-go-elsewhere folks though)! What's close? I want to avoid Boeing traffic cuz it's getting to be THAT time of day... Bingo! Curries! It's only a couple minutes down the street by car and they have a good website where you can place your order ahead of time. Alright! Prices seemed decent too. Ok, order placed, off I go. I get there and the parking lot is pretty full (it's about 1:15pm or so). I park in front of 7/11 (ohhhh rebel!) and side-step the woman talking to herself while pacing in circles - obviously she ain't METHING around. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes for this place. Hate to say it, but do people who live in that neighborhood even CARE about the quality of restaurants? I get there and am a little confused, and put off at first because I see the dishes are in warming trays, buffet style - although signage dictates that their buffet is only offered on Sundays. Apparently their connection to run Debit/Credit cards was down, and Pioneer was there working on that. I told the kid (he's gotta be MAYBE 18?) that I'd placed an order online BUT I need to pay with my debit card, so I'll just wait until they get the connection fixed (the Pioneer guy said it would only be a few minutes). I sit down at a table, and the kid offers me a beverage which I declined since I already needed to pee. Fast forward a few minutes and the phone has been ringing non-stop, the connection for the card reader is still shaky at best, and the poor kid is just doing his best to hold it together. He is ADORABLE. So polite, so professional. Good kid. Anyway, Pioneer has faith that the card reader is functioning so the kid starts pulling my order together. I get a little disheartened when he pulls out small cups that in my mind resemble sauce cups to put my entrees in. He promises me they are same portion size as what would come in a normal "to-go" box. I'm not gonna argue cuz he's a good kid and is already having a bad day. Card reader = still down, so I jog next door to Slurpeetown to get cash. Come back and they have me guinea pig the card reader again, TA-DA! Paid...sweet, now I have some cash in hand for hookers and beer later... Ok, ok, now I know y'all are reading this because you want to know about the food. I won't waste anymore of your time. AH-MAZE-ING. Holy great balls of curry, WOW! The "lunch size" nan they advertise as the side option (that or basmati rice) ended up being a full sized slab of savory, garlicky clay oven magic. And remember I complained about portion size up there ^^^? (Hey, this fat girl likes to eat!) Yeah, no, not a problem. I'm STUFFED and I didn't even finish half. I had a 3 entree combo with butter chicken, chicken curry, and navrathan korma (a dish I'd never tried before). Butter chicken was probably the best I have even had, the chicken curry has a surprising kick to it and the creamy veggie dish was soothing and hearty. Go here. Tonight! The drive from downtown Seattle to northern Everett seemed long, but I was assured the wait would be worth it. Once I took my first bite of tandoori chicken, I forgot about the drive and cherished each bite of the various dishes available on the buffet. The butter chicken and aloo saag were AMAZING!!! Holy crap was my dinner awesome tonight. I got Malai Kofta and Navratan Korma and both were delicious. They have a buffet/plate lunch set up for lunch time, but dinner time is a regular menu. You can eat in or take out. It isn't much to look at since it's more along the lines of a take out place, but the food is 5 star all the way. I hate to give the place so few stars -- the owners are VERY nice people and the food is amazing. The only problem is in the portion sizes -- they are snack-sized. I have visited this place three times and each time the portions get smaller and smaller. The last time my husband and I went in there we had to go get lunch someplace else afterward. He ordered a lunch special and got a piece of naan and FOUR 1" x 1" cubes of chicken. It felt like he got robbed. Unfortunately, we won't be going back here, which is a shame because the food is SO good. I just can't justify spending $12-15 on lunch for the two of us when we're going to have to go somewhere else afterward to eat again. :( read more

I have eaten here a few times or rather taken food home from here a few times since it opened recently. I guess it used to be another indian restaurant that I never noticed before even though I have driven past this place for many years. I live about 1/2 mile away. I am not an indian food expert by any means but I do like my chicken tikka masala. I have eaten indian food from the Clay Pit in Mill Creek many times and I find this comparable. I ordered several items from here including the naan, some chicken fried pieces of something or other, lots of rice, some tandori chicken and some other items. Like I said I like the tikka masala. My wife and her friend also had this food and gave it high ratings. The people running the place were very friendly on both occasions that I was there. They have a facebook page and a website. The website is difficult to find in google search for some reason. The website is curriesineverett.com I believe. You can also order online and then pickup, but I haven't tried that. The inside of the restaurant is small. It is like a teriyaki takeout type of space with about 6 tables or so in it and it was pretty clean. Parking is a little tight since other businesses are right there on a small lot. The 7/11 next door painted several spots to indicate the parking was for 7/11 only but I am not sure how enforceable that really is. Screw it, park there anyway like I do. The price for my tikka masala was about $10 which of course included rice. At the Clay Pit in Mill Creek the price is about $15 if I remember correctly. I would like to compare the serving sizes between the two restaurants for the same dish and see which one cost more per ounce. I am odd that way. Either way, I do like this place and it is only about 1/2 mile from my house. I plan on making it a regular stop but not too regular as I am trying to lose a little weight. I could eat this stuff everyday if I wasn't careful. If I were comparing this to the Clay Pit, which I really don't want to turn this review into, it definitely doesn't have the ambiance that the Clay Pit has but then again, it isn't trying to be something it isn't. It is just good food at reasonable prices. Also the Clay Pit has been known to regularly take the tips you leave for the waiters and pocket them without paying the staff the tips. See my Clay Pit review. That is why you see the help wanted sign outside their window all the time. Also, the Clay Pit has odd hours where it is only open for lunch, then closed then open for dinner. This place is open all day. I hope this place stays here for a long time and it would also be nice if they had a little better selection of naan instead of just plain and garlic. I was just there and ordered the Buttered chicken, and Curry Lamb, and the garlic bread. The lady on the phone was very nice. I had a conversation with her when I got the the restaurant. Walked in and placed an order to go, asked for no cilantro in my dish and the man taking our order (possibly manager/owner?) assured me that there is no cilantro in the dish, only as a garnish but he would make a note of no cilantro. OK, this may seem silly, but the best part of this place (other than the food itself, of course) is that they have multi-sectioned plates so that none of your curries will mix unless you choose it! Of course, my great impression of them started with a phone call to see if there would be anything I can eat now that I am gluten-free. They really didn't know what gluten is, but once I explained that I can't have anything with flour in it, they explained that I can pretty much eat all the curries. Just no samosas, pakoras, or naan. Well, considering how great everything I tried was, I didn't miss what I couldn't have. I think I will be going there a lot from here on. read more

OMG! The best Indian food I have tasted yet in the United States. The food is of extremely good quality and the taste is mouth watering. We visited this place on a weekend and it was quite late for lunch but we did get a table. The host is very friendly and the service was incredible. We ordered the panner butter masala, panner korma and butter chicken. All of them were really good. The garlic naans were out of the world. They were really soft and well prepared. We also tasted the mango lassi and it was really good. I would definitely want to visit this place again and again. Loved the food! read more
