This place was busy during the Holidays in Downtown Disney! It provided a great break from the theme park though. With the holiday season, the whole shopping area outside was decorated! Curl Surf though felt like you were on a small island with warm weather! It was a nice change of pace. As I walked through the store, I saw a wide variety of surf inspired clothing and accessories. There was hoodies to sandals, sunglasses and casual every day items. I ended up buying a few shirts for friends and family back in Vegas for the holidays! The customer service was great. I did have a team member ask if I needed any help with purchases or if I had any questions to reach out! I'm glad that I visited Curl Surf while shopping in Downtown Disney. It was my first time in a Curl Surf store before. It was great to stop in and look for souvenirs and last minute gifts! read more

Feeling pretty beachy! I love a good surf shop & the cute outfits shown through the window grabbed my attention, so I came to explore around. The clothes are DEFINITELY cute here, there's a bunch of good brands you can shop for but let me tell you, it doesn't come cheap. This store is pretty overly expensive, I saw a good pair of Toms for $50 & a hat/beanies for $30. I really wanted to buy some cute outfits but I also didn't want to feel like I got ripped off. Shopped here twice during our mini vacation to the Disney parks cause they have the cutest clothes. I was alway wanting a new pair of white vans, old school & I found em here. Their staff are super nice & helpful. With the pandemic, I was surprised that I could use their fitting room as it helped me make my decision on buying the cut off shorts I've been eying. If you have a Disney debit card with Chase, you can get a 10% discount here too. I generally ignore Curl Surf when walking through Downtown Disney, because most of the items here are (as the name implies) for the surf crowd and I am not into this style of clothing. During the Halloween season, the better half pointed out The Nightmare Before Christmas Van's Classic Slip-ons in the window display and this caused me to walk inside for the first time. I have plenty of The Nightmare Before Christmas clothing, but this was the first time I had seen foot ware with this theme I was interesting in purchasing. Curl Surf opened in the Downtown Disney District in 2017, assuming the space formerly occupied by Quiksilver. This shop is the first location of the Sammy Duvall chain operating on the west coast. Curl Surf carries clothing, swimwear and accessories for men, women and children from surf brands like Hurley, Roxy, Billabong, Duvin and Quiksilver and shoes by TOMS, Reef and Vans. The finish your ensemble you can purchase a pair of Oakley or Ray-Ban sunglasses, add some style to your wrist with a watch by Nixon and preserve your surf memories with a GoPro camera. The neon wave marquee is hard to miss, especially once the sun goes down and the sign lights up. The first time I stopped in here, I was informed by a worker that slip-ons I wanted to purchase were out of stock in almost every size and she didn't know if they were getting anymore in stock. Rohlinism: Nothing destroys consumer confidence in a business like the three letter phrase "I don't know!" Fast forward a month, the same slip-on were on display and I decided to see if the store had restocked them in my size. There wasn't much of a line when we were purchasing the slip-ons and the price was $68.81 (original price $70.95 plus tax) after the ten percent discount offered to passholders. I am getting my money's worth from these slip-ons by wearing them to the parks every week since their purchase and I will continue to wear them anytime I get decked out in my The Nightmare Before Christmas gear. It took a few wears to break the slip-ons in (never owned this type of shoe before), but they are very comfortable which is important since visits to the park usually mean walking somewhere between three and five miles. Overall, the staff was helpful and attentive without being annoying with the only criticism being the staff member that didn't know the store would be getting more of the slip-ons in stock on my initial visit. The store seemed divided by gender and the staff seemed to do a good job of keeping the store organized with the clothing folded and hung in the correct area. I have read some reviews about issues with staff not greeting / helping customers, but during both my visits, I was helped by a staff member a short time after entering the store. After we finished the transaction, the better half spent some time looking around the store location some more Nightmare footwear ( https://bit.ly/2PHnECw ) for kids and some larger Nightmares ( https://bit.ly/2rWPiTb ) for the adults. Curl Surf had a few Nightmare Before Christmas clothing items on clearance, but I didn't find anything that peaked my interest. The store seems to be well stocked with a good selection of surfing brands, but I readily admit I am not the right person to be asking about this style of clothing. Odds are these visits will be my first and last to this store, but I will keep an eye on the display windows during the holidays to see if Curl Surf comes up with any interesting The Nightmare Before Christmas items in future years! read more

Date of visit: May 20, 2018 I normally don't go into surf shops, but when I found out that this Curl Surf location carried Vans - and I'd been looking for a pair of their classic Checkerboard slip ons - I figured we'd give the place a shot. To my surprise, they had them! Granted. they didn't have the exact size I was looking for (10.5), but the size 10s still fit my feet well. Even better... THERE'S AN AP DISCOUNT! Although it's 10% off - at least for Signature Plus passholders like us - hey, I'll still take it, especially as my final total was under $50; can't beat that at Foot Locker! While Curl Surf tends to skew a bit for the younger folks, if I'm looking for a new set of Vans kicks (especially with the limited Marvel x Vans collaborations going on as of this writing), I'll keep this place in mind. read more

I love the variety of your run of the mill staples surf apparel; Billabong, Roxy, Quiksilver, Olukai, etc. Another line I was not familiar with but loved the quality & prints was Duvin. The sales gal could only say that it was also carried in Nordies and that it was the owner's son's line. Ahhh...for those of you in the apparel industry, it makes sense now. I was surprised how much I liked this place. They carry all the types of clothes I typically wear, but the real awesome part was the employees! I stopped in on an unexpectedly cold night needing a sweatshirt and the place was packed. Despite the crowds, employees still managed to check on everyone. I found something I liked, but needed a different size. No issues or hesitation - went in the back and brought out what I was looking for. It was easy to find someone to help. And while that might not seem that crazy or worth five stars, if you've ever been in a retail situation where there was massive crowds, you're lucky if you can find someone to do anything for you. A good selection of merch from brands like Quiksilver and friendly people. I'm glad this store is in Downtown Disney - it's a win for me. read more

Do NOT bother supporting this local shop. My family and I experienced the absolute WORST customer service imaginable. Below is the email I sent to their support team/ corporate email that thoroughly explains what happened. Of course, without surprise; I have yet to hear back from anybody... I am sending this email after a visit to your downtown Disney store location. The customer service my family and I received is beyond unsatisfactory. I went into the store initially to purchase my son a pair shoes. Let me start by saying I had a hard time finding a clean pair in his size inside the store which I even mentioned to the store associate that was assisting us. I tried putting on the shoes after paying for them they were the van checkered slip on shoes. I had a hard time slipping them on my sons foot with my nails so I put the shoes back in the box and carried my son out of the store. I met my husband back at our hotel room at the Disney grand California and he to had a hard time slipping the shoes on so we decided to go back to the store to exchange them for a Velcro shoe. The store manager (Jackie) accused me of returning a worn out pair of shoes that I just purchased 20 minutes prior. Again, I had a difficult time trying to even come across a clean pair in the store. I asked her if she was kidding because she was raising her voice at me inside the store and accusing me of lying out loud and in front of other customers. I asked her to pull up surveillance cameras to prove her accusation which she rolled her eyes and then laughed at me. This is absolutely insulting and unacceptable. I have never been to a place of business and treated in this way of manner. This needs to be addressed with your store as soon as possible. I will be going ahead and reporting this to the Better Business Bureau along with reviewing the store all over the Internet on every single source. To Tyler store manger: Yesterday, Friday August 30th, me and my daughter walked in Curl Surf and the young girl working in the front did not greet us when she was given plenty of opportunities and eye contact which really bothered me, and my daughter wanted to make a purchase. I then approached a female who seemed like she would be a manager (which she confirmed she was) and I explained what happened and she looked dumb founded and responded in a very unwelcoming way so we decided not to make a purchase here. They carry some surfing brands also have some off brands. Their buyers do a pretty good job of picking up some classic but trendy clothes. The staffs. Here are always nice and helpful. I purchased a pair of Vans from the here and wore them out of the store, after about thirty minutes I noticed the loop in the back of the left shoe was sewn short and cut into my heel and rubbed on the fabric on the inside of the liner. I went back went to the store to tell them I had a defective shoe. I was told you wore them and they would not exchange for a pair that was not defective. The younger girl at the front commented it would be unsanitary. I didn't expect them to sell them to someone else, I expected them to return them to their wholesaler and provide a non-defective shoe to me the customer. They didn't offer any alternative and just stared at me. When I asked if should I contact Vans the same girl said "you could try that." The store is full of teenage employees who could care less about customer service and seems to just be a trap for tourist looking to by California vibe surf brands at inflated prices. As a California native and season pass holder I will never buy another item here. When I contacted Vans the customer service representative laughed and apologized for the store response. read more

Wonderful little shop ! I went in a few weeks ago on a Wednesday evening by myself while my daughters and husband were up in their hotel room. Right when I walked in I was welcomed in with smiles ! After a while I was a little overwhelmed because there were so many cute things not only for myself but for my daughters! Not to mention they had so many brands that my daughters and I just adore. Went into Curl Surf the other day to check out their new AND ADORABLE DISNEY TOMS! I had been waiting for them for months and was so excited to see that they were in Downtown Disney! I saw them on the window displayed so beautifully that I just HAD to try all the styles on. Shoutout to Roxanna, Josh, and Kaley for all your help! These guys were so sweet and helpful which definitely made my shopping experience even better! They even acted better than some of the Disney cast members haha! The store itself is really nice and clean. They play cool music too which makes you feel like you're not at Disney which is nice. They have all the cool beachy brands like Billabong, Roxy and Hurley and great accessories too. They sure are playing a lot of rap and songs about s** for a shop right in downtown Disney... pretty disrespectful of the employees to be so ignorant to the type of business they're working at... it's not a pop up on melrose. To the dork with the palm tree tat! 1 Star is the lowest Yelp offers, unfortunately. My wife, kids and I walked in one morning because they have brands I love. Although I can not say the same about the staff. We we're in the store maybe a couple minutes and a woman walks by to nearby clothes and I think nothing of it. Then she walks back by to the same area, looks at us and walks away. Then she does it again. And now I've noticed, she's not doing go backs, she's not folding any clothes or even fixing a jacket that was racked backwards. What she is doing is staring me down as she just happens to continue walking by my family and I. We did have a stroller for our children so I assume she saw a stroller and correlated that with crime. It'd be one thing if we were lingering around for 20 minutes going back to the same area then I'd understand their concern. In reality we were very early in our visit and already I was considering dropping $150 on the Billabong Bunker Multicam jacket...that was until I noticed how the staff carries themselves and treats their customers. As we progress further into the store I walk behind a table to look at the shoe area and there is a worker standing in direct line of site to where I was originally looking when the first CurlSurf employee was being a creep watching my family and I shop. He looks at me and just moves away. No greeting. No customer service..."Hey can I help you with anything" would have been nice, even discreet. There were 3, maybe 4 other workers who stare, but never interact. CurlSurf has an extremely poor group of people working there, at least the ones from Friday morning. I went as far as to make I contact with the woman who started it all in hopes of making conversation. Had she been a good worker she'd have found out that I was interested in spending U.S. currency for the jacket they had. But all that was received from the CurlSurf employee was dirty looks and a cold shoulder. My wife even noticed and voiced her concern to me wanting to leave the negative environment the CurlSurf employees created. She wanted to leave immediately after realizing they didn't care to provide customer service, rather treat us like criminals. CurlSurf seems to always have clothes I love to PURCHASE, unfortunately we'll never be shopping there. I guess my family and I will only be passing by to use our Disney Annual Passes, WHICH WE ALSO PAY FOR. Because of their poor manners I was lead to an online search in which I found the same jacket on amazon for $100 without the negative, vile vibes. People like her have a long way to go to be able to make it in the world. I hope she improves, finds success, finds happiness and ditches the "I'm unhappy and so you will be also" attitude. Wish I had more time to shop here but it was pretty difficult during this vacation with 2 kids! I stopped by because I had forgotten to pack a jacket and there was cold weather coming our way. My goal was to only go in for a sweater or jacket and be done. But my eyes diverted around the entire store with so much cute clothes!!! "Oh this is cute!!! Okay wait I need to find a jacket...oh this is suuuper cute! Okay I know, jacket", is what was on repeat to my husband for a good 30 minutes! Let me warn you this store isn't made for strollers and I'm glad we left it behind. It gets very crowded at all hours of the day. My husband bought $200 pair of Oakley sunglasses and they not only broke, but we returned to the store within an hour to return the broken sunglasses. They refused to return or exchange them saying they're final sale, as well as did not offer to contact Oakley or the General Manager for us. Their customer service is horrible. Their managers, both store and general are awful. They didn't try to solve a problem, or right a wrong of a completely justified, unsatisfied customer. They only tried to back themselves out of a corner, and dodge the bullet that would force them to lose money, instead of customers. That's probably not the reputation you'd like to have, especially when you're located at Disney, and a brand new store. When it comes to a store being in a Disney location, you expect over the top customer service, Curl Surf could not lack any more in that department than they already do. As someone who has been around Disney their entire life, as well as Downtown Disney from the very first day they opened, Curl Surf does not live up to the Disney standard in any way, shape or form. They completely lack the entire value and experience that is Disney. I do not see this store lasting. Never shop at this store. It's not worth the wasting of your hard earned money. read more

Bad merchandise and worse service. My daughter bought a dress here and the strap broke the second time she wore it. We brought it back within a week with the original receipt. But the store would not give us a refund nor a store credit because she wore it once. Any decent store would have given her a credit or a refund. One blonde female employee went over to the hat section where apparently someone tried on a hat and didn't put it back on its hook and the girl says to another employee: "what asshole keeps messing up my hats?" Bad customer service. Refused to return a pair of shoes that I will never wear. Brand new, not taken out of the box and with original receipt. They have a 7 day return policy. I went on day 14. I thought it was a 30 day return policy. The manager was rude and condescending when I told her it's not easy to get park and get to the store, which is located inside downtown disney. She said well you're an annual passholder so it's easy for you to come to the park. First off passholders can live throughout the whole country, as I have a year pass for Disney World, but I don't live in Florida. Second, she does not know my situation, whether I have a car or not. Thirdly, its 76 dollars that I now have as worthless store credit. I am a big girl, and there is literally not a single piece of clothing there that I can fit. I probably would have understood not making an exception if the shoes were worn, or I didn't have the receipt, but that was not the case. And she literally said that she wouldn't over ride it because I was an annual pass holder and could come to the store whenever. I thought being a Disney annual passholder gave you perks, not punishment. What I got from her was that if I had not been a passholder she would have given me back my money. Like what is that? How is that right? Overall I am very disappointed in this store. They also do not have a customer service number on the receipt. read more

My husband was in desperate need of a sweater due to forgetting his at home. It was an extra chilly night at the park so we stopped in here. The men's selection in anything bigger than a size medium is slim to none. He ended up finding a Billabong hoodie in an XL luckily he tried it on right outside the door after his purchase. This XL was more of a slim L. His arms barley fit in the hoodie so we returned it. Luckily I found him a true XL in a Curl Surf hoodie it was still short in my opinion but did it's job. This place needs to up their stock in bigger sizes. Most likely won't be coming back inn. read more
