Oh my goodness! I've had many drinks at cure (which are OUTSTANDING!!) but I ate there for the first time last week and it was fantastic! As a pescatarian I was a little nervous about options however I was not left out in the menu! I had the scallops (there were at least 2 other entrees that were pescatarian) that came with curried sweet potatoes and lychee! So good! Also we tried the potatoes and cheese as an appetizer and the French fruit cake (seriously kill me it was so good) HIGHLY recommended. (Ps pricy but worth it) read more

Loved the atmosphere and the food. Such unique menu items and great service! A hidden gem for sure

This review is long overdue. We often eat (and drink) here and love the atmosphere. I like the knowledgeable entertaining bartenders and the patient servers. It's small so if you want dinner you should make reservations. The meals are all exceptional and I love the thoughtfulness of the menu and the magic the Chef manages. I'm on their email list and so I get information about special meals- my husband and I love these and make them some of our best date nights. I also like the fact I can have some of their fabulous cocktails and walk down to Fiorella for a different dinner experience. Both places encourage this and I like that these restauranteurs have such an awesome relationship. If you haven't tried Cure- you must. If you haven't been there in awhile you must go back soon! read more

Great food, pretentious staff and rude customers. The table next to us were loud and dropping F bomb. Our waitress didn't even offer is the specials or desert. Good food, but I won't spend my money to have the experience. If this is supposed to be a nice restaurant you might want to control your customers and have your staff treat people better. read more

Delicious Meal Love everything about about the place. The only thing we would have changed is that the fingerling potatoes with the warm cheese were cold. We weren't expecting that and would much rather have had them room temperature read more

Went for Sunday brunch, party of 6. JJ the server was very engaging and funny which made our experience outstanding. The food was very well prepared and they accommodated some of our strange requests. I have been here for Dinner and now Sunday brunch, always an outstanding experience. JJ, thank you for the laughs and all the fun. read more

This is possibly my favorite restaurant in Rochester! This place may be small and have a small selection on their menu (much of which is in French), but you will be surprised by the supreme quality and the flavor of the food. I highly recommend the Beef Tartare, Bison Meatballs, Moules Frites (mussels and fries), and the flourless chocolate cake. read more

Sister restaurant of Good Luck. It is located in the public market. Food also has a sharing concept. Good food, good decor, and good ambience. Price wise is slightly cheaper than Good Luck. Personally, I prefer Good Luck more. read more

I loved the atmosphere of this environment. It's very inviting. Although the food was good, there was a limited selection of it. I hope that they expand their menu because it's delicious! read more

We visited this restaurant on a Thursday to try the special menu, French Thai was the theme. Every single dish was fantastic! The drinks were excellent! Our only disappointment was the size of the portions. If you are a big eater you might feel hungry after dinner. Otherwise no complaints about the marvelous taste experience. read more

Love this little place! I've never eaten here before, but I've come for drinks several times. The drinks are tasty, and kaitlyn the bartender always makes different ones for me. The staff here are mostly all personable and it seems like they're a family. Try the punch bowl! read more

I had a pretty nice meal, with a large group. So, we had good service and sat in the room upstairs. As a consequence, I can't comment on the overall restaurant, but I can say everything I had from the special, family-style menu for us was delicious. It's got that rustic design thing going on, and it works with their food. There was nothing on the menu that jumped out as me as something you simply must have, but there was nothing on the menu that was bad. Everything was perfectly fine. I'd go back. read more

Cure is a great place with delicious food and cocktails but I have to give Cure 4 out of 5 stars and here's why: they lost our reservation for my birthday dinner, they mixed up our order, and my friend had to visit the hospital the next day for a gall bladder attack (the food is primarily French and very rich). I was okay with these minor disruptions and the owner, Chuck, made it up to us with some complimentary cocktails that evening. However, my friend was not amused so that factor impacted the experience as a whole. I would definitely go again because I very much enjoyed my meal and drinks. I had wine and a cocktail called Faith in Medicine, and we got the rillettes and butter (probably leading to the gall bladder attack) which came with very tasty bread, some seafood specials, and dessert. In hindsight, I would probably forgo the dessert in combination with all the other offerings. read more

Good Luck's even more hipster brother. Love the off the beaten path location. Fabulous drinks. Great bartenders. Make sure you check out their awesome Sunday Brunch. read more

I would give it five stars but it was a bit pricey and I do think they could improve on a few things. Overall, this was an absolutely delicious meal with fantastic service. We will absolutely be back again!!! On a note for improvement, the drinks were so expensive....particularly for Rochester. However, the homemade tonic was sublime! Also, I agree with another poster that the charcuterie was a bit stingy. We had 1 pickled piece of zucchini. One! For four people. With such an inexpensive item it looked ridiculous. And, for the price of the platter, really? Again, the food was fantastic and we will definitely be back!!! read more

Ran in this place and ordered something quick. Going back later for a deep dig. Very nice space. Will be back for coffee and more....

4 stars, because I'm happy there's an innovative french-style restaurant in Rochester, and I want it to succeed. Ambience nice, friendly atmosphere. Interesting wines, and good cocktails [so I'm told}. Food's kind of hit or miss, though. Been to the Thursday French prix fiixe-theme meal 3 times and always have come away with the same impression. Food can be very well done or just indifferent - I've never had a bad meal. Portions for the prix fixe meal are too small for anyone with an appetite, and I'm old-fashioned: I'd like to see the main [final] course served with a starch of some sort - and that would help with the previous comment. Ate the steak frites under the regular menu once and was unimpressed, honestly. Simple preparations demand perfect execution. So, love the concept, room for improvement, IMO. read more

Love this place. Cocktail game is ON POINT and the bartenders are kind and attentive to their guests. Also great food & ambience.

Great location only exceeded by food and service! Great cocktails, the camembert starter is crazy good if you like warm, buttery cheese. Looking forward to going back soon! read more

As someone who loves the F bomb I just want to say that this place is so F bomb ing good. Staff treats me right every time! besos.

I went for the prefix menu, on a Thursday. It was my first time. All of the food was absolutely delightful. I highly recommend it. I have never experienced French cuisine. The staff was extremely knowledgeable. It was a way to explore the divine flavor of onion :) read more

I really love this restaurant. I went with girlfriends and we ate and drank for hours. The waitress was really patient. The food was awesome but not as good as the service, atmosphere and THE COCTAILS! I tried a few and they were all amazing. I will be returning for happy hour very soon. read more

The restaurant has a cool atmosphere, but after that everything else is lacking. Service is poor, young servers who are aloof, why I don't know. Sausage was not properly cooked. Sent back to the kitchen, still served cold. Then they asked us if we wanted to take our cold undercooked food home! Chicken dish was served with soggy skin and had no flavor. We told the server that the food was not good. Her reply, "sorry you guys". Never coming back to Cure, there are other good places to eat in Rochester that don't try to be pretentious, thy actually have great servers and decent food. By the way, this was my second try here, same result both times. read more

I love CURE. Always a great meal. The cocktails are divine! The place has great character and is actually a very romantic when the sun goes down...at least in my opinion which is why we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. So on our latest venture we ( the husband and I) both started off with the Goat Hill Cocktail which is dangerously yummy and the oven -roasted camembert with fingerling potatoes (they forgot the onion jam which was disappointing but we ate it without ever mentioning it because damn it was delicious! As one would expect... it was gooey, creamy melted cheese :-)) We both ordered specials: The husband got the house made foot long all beef hotdog topped with kimchi/kimchee and oh boy was it good! I ordered the Salad Niçoise which was EXCELLENT! The only thing that would have made it better would have been some ahi tuna instead of the tuna used but still and I repeat it was EXCELLENT. No dessert for us to full! The service was great! Not rushed at all but made to feel paid attention to. read more

I love the atmosphere of this place and normally the food is amazing but never ever ever go on a Thursday when they offer a set menu, unless you are on a calorie reduction diet. The portions of each course were so comically tiny we were acting out scenes of Oliver, holding up bowls pleading "Please sir, may we have some more". Paid the bill and drove to Jojo's to eat dinner. read more

Stopped in on a whim with a few friends. Everything we had was delicious, however the only confusing part was portion size of some of the things we were ordering. For example, the seasonal vegetable portion was tiny but listed with other entree-sounding items, sort of disappointing for $9, but the preparation was great. We ordered the potatoes with Camembert, which was yummy, but was a little puzzled why the potatoes were served cold. (I tried the melty Camembert on one of the roasted potatoes that came with the early seasonal vegetables and I thought the warmth helped to bring out more of the flavor than it did on a chilled potato.) The house made sausages were good-- loved the caponata they were served with. Also tried the fava bean hummus which was really delicious (although I would not call it a hummus, it was so light). Next time I would like to try some of the charcuterie and cheeses. Also, the service from our waitress was great. We did wait a little while for our food to come out. The scene was slightly hectic when we arrived, someone who worked there said hello to us but then left us standing at the door-- do we wait to be seated? is there a wait? Someone else came and helped us in a couple minutes but it was slightly disorganized. It was busy and also chalk this up to the place being so new. read more

I would give 2.5 stars, but will round up to 3 to be generous. Dined here twice now, and both times the servers were really friendly, even if frequently forgetful and hard to find, and the ambiance was lovely. However, both times the food was disappointingly average. The foie gras-marrow spread had some flavor resembling foie gras, but was sadly lacking on the richness of marrow (perhaps they forgot to include it in the blender). The duck rillette came with a startling thick thick thick layer of fat - nearly half the dish - quite imbalanced and surprisingly, even when all smeared together, not very flavorful. The crepe entree is a pseudo-lasagna. It was okay - mild flavors and light - I can barely remember what it tasted like. What I do remember well is that the greens that accompanied the entree were wilted (even with salad dressing on the side). The Banh Mi, while tasty, should not be called a Banh Mi as it is a heavy heavy sandwich - the opposite of what a Banh Mi should be. However, one of my dining companions said it was more tasty than the trout. The cauliflower salad was good, but looked like something I have made at home! While their price point is nothing outrageous, it does not match up with the quality of the food or the service (no matter how likable the servers are!). To top off these disappointing experiences, the table closest to the door was miserable with cold air blasting in every time they opened the door. Near the rear of the restaurant, the "chef's table" was just an extra table near the BATHROOM, outside the serving window to the kitchen (with NO VIEW of the chefs working). It's strange that Cure either doesn't understand what a real chef's table is, or thinks that Rochester restaurant patrons don't know what a real chef's table is. Either way, while Cure is beautiful to look at, our next gathering that involves food will be elsewhere. read more

We have always loved grabbing dinner and drinks at Cure (the Bahn Mi and Boudin Blanc are our favorites). Last year we attended a wedding reception and it was beautiful. Recently we reserved the space for my mother in law's birthday and we cannot sufficiently express just how wonderful the service, food and atmosphere were. Katy and Dara and all the kitchen staff went above and beyond, all of the guests raved about the experience. Thank you Cure for being a tried and true favorite!! read more

I don't really understand all the local hype about this place. As at Good Luck, the waitstaff are slightly pretentious but tolerable. However, the food left a lot to be desired. The potatoes in the camembert appetizer were underdone, and the terrines were fine but nothing to write home about. As an entree I had the beef bourguinon, which had very little beef in it and was comprised mostly of noodles. For $24. Seriously? The interior decors is fun and interesting, but I don't think I'd go back here for more than a class of wine and maybe an appetizer. It's definitely not worth the price. Then again, it's possible they were just having an off night. read more

Went there for a friends birthday. So four of us. My friends didn't like the restaurant , but I loved it. Thou I have been there before, so I knew what to expect. I thought the food was great. Very different flavors and organic. The bar is limited but very interesting. I had a Faith in Medicine, I loved it so I ordered two of them...the people we were with did not like much of anything.....So I say to all the reviews.. try if for yourself.. I think Chuck is doing a great Job there and I personally would go back. My only complaint is better ceiling fans, it was a bit warm....try big ass fans.com We will see you soon. read more

I'm definitely a big fan of Cure. Cool space in the quickly up and coming (and long established) Public Market in the City of Rochester. Crafty food along with super wine & cocktails. Always good service as the restaurant is quite small and generally well staffed. Chef driven and well run much like it's sister restaurant, Good Luck. I'm a big fan of the Coq au Vin and Foie Gras - Bone Marrow Toasts. The ownership and management team is very creative and it shines through with their branding, design and style. The only thing holding back a perfect 5 stars is the place is a little old and somewhat dingy. All somewhat by design I suppose. But the establishment is a standout all around and I hate how picky I can be about physical spaces. Go and enjoy. Cure never misses. read more

Amazing American French bistro. I dine hear on every visit to Rochester. The food, service and funky ambiance make this gem one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. read more

Cure is my favorite place for happy hour snacks and libations. Their charcuterie has a great balance of salty and fatty, and pairs well with any of their cocktails. In my past life, this was also my favorite date spot, as it's far more intimate to sit at the bar than other places around town. If you're looking for a bit more bustle, check them out on Saturday night when "Booze Your Own Adventure" is in full swing, with the added bonus of a DJ dance party. read more

Probably the best meal I have had in Rochester. Everything was cooked to perfection, and there was such an emphasis on textures in addition to flavors. The service was superb too! read more

Cure is my top choice for brunch!!!!! I absolutely love the menu and their twist on breakfast. I would recommend to visit at least once, after the first visit you'd be back for more. The waitresses rock! Your always token care of in a timely manner and they treat you as if you were a good friend. What's the Market without Cure? read more

My husbaand I went last Saturday night. We were referred there by NIck from Antonettas= a place we also frequent. Cure I must say was wonderful. It's food and menu is gourmet and upscale. One of the best in a long time in Rochester and I and my husband plan to go back ASAP!!!! read more

Dinner at the Cure last night. Food was ok, but the srevice was horrible and the delivery of the food was horrendously slow. The duck confit was a bit over done, but tasty. We ordered the pate du jour and an assorted charcutterie platter. They compined it all on one platter without informing us which begs the question what did they leave off the platter as people who ordered just the assortment had just as many items as we did. The last dish was Lamb meatballs, tasty, but like half our items the presentation was lacking. The gap until the last dish was over a half hour. I begged my wife to cancel and get the check so we could leave, but she didn't want to be "rude". The couple next to us was so tired of waiting they cancelled their last dish and recieved a free glass of champagne as an appology, paid to complain. They have one restroom and I waited for ten minutes for the person to come out, they never did, and while I was waiting I watched in the kitchen. The cook, I won't call him a chef as a chef would have things under control, was in there by himself shooting the bull with a guy in black that was hanging out, while the couple next to us were waiting for a dish. Nice premise with lousy execution. We and the couple next to us decided we would never return. The other establishment by the same person, Good Luck, was much better. Guess you can only watch one at a time. read more

I've been to Cure on two occasions- both times to celebrate special birthdays. I find this place very poor value for the price. I'm an urban, downtown Rochester individual who enjoys new and different restaurants and want to support center city spots. The menu at cure is very esoteric - it is trying to be gourmet but one goes away hungry. I ordered the scallops in parchment paper - a good sauce but teeny, tiny salad scallops and nothing else- I was wishing the "parchment Paper" was puff pastry. My companion ordered a fresh fish that was very salty- cooked with a brine method that if done properly should have not shouted out "saline." There were no vegetables or salad to go with this meal. I wonder if the owner is using this restaurant as a training or testing center for so-called "farm fresh" food. I have eaten at The Gramercy Tavern in NYC many times- better prices, portions, quality. The interior of this restaurant is very nice in a French barnyard, stable kind of way. The cocktails and desserts were good. The servers were pleasant . read more

This is a review for brunch. I've been twice. The first time we got the boudin Benedict and the biscuits and gravy. They both were amazing. We basically licked the sauces off the plate. The drinks are a bit expensive. $9 for a small mimosa or a Bloody Mary? I wouldn't bother with drinking there again because it's not worth it. The 2nd time we got the flour city bread and Nutella, jam and butter. It was good but nothing special. The bread was super toasted, almost a bit too much. Again we got the boudin Benedict and biscuits and gravy. I was extremely bummed because it didn't taste anything like the first time. The boudin Benedict sauce was flavorless and the English muffin was rock hard on the bottom. The biscuits and gravy were cold but tasty. I went back specifically for the boudin Benedict. The sauce was a pale pink the 2nd time as opposed to a deeper red color the first time. Not sure what happened. Maybe an off day in the kitchen. Service was good both times. No waiting and food came out quickly. read more
