I also saw covered outdoor seating. In fact, there were multiple options for seating. I especially admired the design-flow which allowed the customer line to be separated from the seating areas so that the customers don't have to be in the way of those that are seated. The shop is bright and bright the element of outdoors into the interior in a subtle way with its plants and large windows. I'm such a sucker for pleasant greetings and warm hospitality! "You had me at 'Hello! How are you?'" The world could certainly use more kindness and genuine southern hospitality. Now, here's what really wowed the coffee enthusiast/hobbyist in me! Espresso shots were being pulled meticulously with attention to detail, including the use of a scale, which provides for consistency! The flavorings/syrups were not pumped haphazardly from the familiar brand-name syrup bottles. Rather, for my latte, an in-house syrup was carefully measured for the perfect taste! My delicious, honey-cinnamon latte was made with care, attention to detail, quality ingredients, and finesse! Loved it! If I'm ever in Jackson, this will definitely be my go-to spot!

This review is strictly based on my Shrimp Po-Boy which had the worst fried shrimp I've ever experienced. It was cooked beyond belief and felt like chewing rubber. Breading was probably tasty had the order been properly cooked but could not tell. I had my wife taste a piece, she confirmed my opinion. Bread was buttered and grilled but did not have the feel of a real po-boy bun as if it were on the old side which is strange as the place is a bakery. I don't know what dressing was used, tasted like plain mayo. This is a strong do-not-ever-order recommendation. Fries were good, probably cut fresh. If I ate in, the order would be sent back to the kitchen. My replacement would likely have been better but QC on the takeout was lacking. I understand it's a popular spot in Jackson and was certainly full when I picked up the order. My meal, sadly, was quite forgettable. Other meals that were part of the order seemed OK but, in my eyes, uninspired. Edit: Heard from the manager with with an apology and offer to make up for the issue to my local relatives since I'm only a visitor to the area. Cups in Fondren has a great atmosphere, and the new renovations are a great improvement. It's really an awesome study spot or place to socialize, because you're almost always guaranteed to run into a friend (or to quickly become acquaintances with the normal crowd). The baristas are helpful, friendly, and give great customer service. Cups carries a wide selection of coffees and teas, and the packaged coffee for sale is really nice to bring home for your own brewing convenience! (Be sure to ask them to grind the beans if you don't have a grinder already!) In my opinion, there is definitely a focus on pleasing the general consumer which brings in a diverse crowd and helps Cups to stand out with its welcoming atmosphere. The craft coffee connoisseur may anticipate more of a focus on the science of coffee (which is all well and good- I love craft coffee), but needs not be disappointed with the overall atmosphere and experience of the place. It's local, people! Nearly everyone has a favorite drink or two. Personally, I like the lattes and frozen blended beverages. They also have a really fabulous MS honey coffee drink that I tried this summer and loved! My favorite thing about Cups is that it's local, and that they have locations in almost any spot you can think of in the Jackson area making it readily accessible. I would recommend trying Cups over any of the standard chains in the area! And remember to get a cups rewards card! read more
