I may be a little bias because this is my favorite coffee shop of all time BUT it has a reason to be. This particular Cups has "Chick Fil A" service and they never get it wrong...the coffee order or the service. My favorite coffee is the Blondie (which I had today). Depending on the flavor, I will use the flavor coffee as my base. My 2nd favorite is the Capital Street. The atmosphere is casual and great for studying, working or meeting with a friend. Today was a light day and wasn't very crowded. The noise level is always average and not overwhelming. Above all, whether to stay or to go, it's a must go! read more

Really enjoyed my stop in here today... my espresso with hazelnut almond milk and espresso frappe was wonderful. So, was my barista... as he sweetly let me make small talk and kindly answered my out-of-towner questions. I wish I had gotten his name, as he was great and was really good at his craft... I say craft bc he was really into this art.. and it was clearly a work of art when I tasted his awesome creation! I asked if he'd always done this and he said no, he used to be in retail and that he really enjoyed being a barista! I hope you continue to perfect your craft... they made my tastebuds dance! My first foray into the Fondren scene! Was nearby for a work errand, so I decided to try a new coffee shop while in the area. The place itself is extremely sharp and exactly what I imagine when I think of a modern, hip, local-scene type shop. I got a blueberry muffin and got really adventurous with the seasonal pumpkin spice latte (minimally sweetened). The muffin was not at all what I was expecting, and the pumpkin spice latte was a little meh. Muffin: didn't really get blueberry at all from it. Maybe the slightest hint, but it was more nuts and cinnamon than anything. Maybe I was given the wrong one? Not sure. The pumpkin spice latte wasn't horrible, but I wasn't overly impressed by it. I feel like their coffee is good, but the PSL was just a little bland and almost watery. I would definitely come back though to try something else - most likely a regular latte or something black. read more

This is one of those eclectic coffee shops with an adorable and trendy atmosphere.... I wish I could drink that instead of the coffee. As seems to be the main gripe with Cups (reading the other reviews and talking to friends) the espresso is definitely on the burnt side. Getting the iced coffee was delightful though! And finding soy milk in Mississippi was nothing less than a miracle. They also carried some interesting tea blends that were great to warm up my fingers in the chilly weather! Customer service was good but not great. The second day when I bought a gift with my coffee, they rang in the wrong one and had to void and re-ring me up. It was a ten-minute process involving three people. I felt so bad that I almost just overpaid. BUT since their coffee is not on the cheap side and I am not on the wealthy side, I waited it out, despite the frustrated looks of the salespeople and customers behind me. Well, THAT was embarrassing! Honestly though, I LOVED this spot for gifts. The mugs were super cute. I bought one that said, "Coffee, the nectar of gods" for my friend and another travel mug for Justin U. with some great art on the outside. One of my travel buddies bought an artsy shirt, really soft and organic cotton. One gripe though.... Cups, please ditch the Styrofoam cups! Not cool for the environment... if you hadn't heard. Great place to study, but if you're a coffee fanatic you'll find their espresso to be a bit on the burnt side. I like Cups. I don't love it, but I really like it. Enough to go there on a regular, okay, a daily basis. The atmosphere is great; their "Shot in the Dark" is refreshing or comforting (depending on if you get it iced or hot). It's a good place to meet up with others. I think they could improve on their customer service a bit. It's good, but not excellent. My order has been messed up quite a few times and they were quick to fix it most of the time, but sometimes there's a twang of attitude. A tinge of attitude, I mean. I tip pretty well, so at least they could be nice. 90% of the time is all I'm asking for. read more

Cups is one of my favorite hangout spots in Jackson. Whether I'm doing some work on my computer alone, or meeting up with friends, this cute little coffee shop is perfect for either. As of now, they are working on expanding the coffee shop so there will be a lot more room for seating, which can be a problem on a busy Friday afternoon or Sunday morning. They have lots of specialty drinks with cute names like Blondie or Brunette and traditional espresso drinks. You won't find a *cough cough* "corporate coffee caramel macchiato here (but I'm sure they'd make it for you if you asked!). Sometimes the Internet is funky but if the shop is pretty cleared out, you shouldn't have a problem. One of my favorite things on a hot day is the Granita. Not sure what exactly is in it but it's basically an espresso icee. Oh my gosh yum. It's probably my favorite on cold days too. They have a variety of baked goods and evens though they aren't made in-house, they are still delicious. Especially the cranberry biscotti! They also have granola and fruit parfaits but they're out of view. I would recommend Cups in Fondren to anyone in the area who wants to hangout and grab a coffee! read more

I have been going to the Cups in the local hospital for years, and they are wonderful! I've never been very impressed with the Cups in Fondren. They started offering use of an app called Toast for ordering before you get there so you can pick up the order is ready at your scheduled time, but they just wait until you get there to make it and you still wait in the line to tell them you placed an order online. Kinda defeats the purpose eh? If you're in a rush to work only to find out 20 minutes later (past your scheduled pick up time) that you're coffee hasn't even been started yet, they'll still charge you for it if you cancel it. If your a first timer, I would definitely choose a different cups. read more

For the longest time, Cups was the gold standard of coffee shops in Jackson. Jacksonian were so steeped in their excellence that Starbucks couldn't break into the market. On one occasion, a Starbucks closed because they couldn't handle the local competition, Cups took over their location. This is probably why you don't see protests like the 1999 WTO Seattle Protests in Jackson. They still have excellent coffee, no question about that. They keep up with all of the coffee shop trends, so of course you can get a pour-over, a hand-selected tea or one of their classic latte drinks. They also make their own K-Cups and have plenty of coffee released home goods and gifts. Really, a one stop shop for all things coffee. This sounds like a four star review, right? Great coffee, other things to buy and a repellant of violent black bloc rioters would probably warrant four stars generally. They recently did a redesign that has terrible feng shui. A dragon would have a hard time strolling through here. In fact, while he was ordering his coffee at the counter that is now directly at the door, his tail would stick out of the door. He would double back on himself to go get the coffee he ordered and then wind up tangled with everyone else as he searched through their three storefronts to find a seat. While ordering, he would have to squint to read the tiny writing describing the roasts of the day. It feels like they have lost their cozy charm. I guess that is keeping up with the trends, but the re-design does not seem to have been well thought out. Again, stop by for the coffee, but you might just want to get it to go. read more

When I first moved to Jackson three years ago, I think I hung out at Cups in Fondren almost every single day for several weeks. I really love the ambience, the location, and definitely the coffee. The local coffeeshop (Which, fun fact, has more locations in Jackson than Starbucks does! Score!) has tons of tables with mismatched chairs for studying, working, or just chilling. There's a couple of super comfy sofas too if you're looking to just hang with a friend while you sip your coffee. The decor is really cute and eclectic, and the layout is spacious enough not to feel crowded or claustrophobic. I love that one of the walls is all windows, so you can see people as they do their shopping at Rainbow or Montgomery Hardware, or watch the traffic zoom by on Old Canton if you're feeling particularly distracted. (It happens.) The coffee is really good, too. I love their specialty drinks, especially the brunette. I'm a big fan. I've always found the staff very friendly. They're not particularly talkative, but that's something I usually personally appreciate before I've had my coffee, you know? Cups is also an EXCELLENT place to pick up a gift for a friend, especially if you're looking to get them something that's very *Jackson.* The vibe inside the shop is quiet and productive. My only gripe is that the internet is pretty unreliable, but this seems to be an issue with nearly every coffeeshop I visit. Pro tip: Visit cups on a Friday for some free espresso! read more

Everytime I come home from college, I get a call within the hour from high school buds asking, "Wanna go to Cup's?" I think I have only turned down that invitation once. And that's because I just had a tonsillectomy. Cup's, especially in Fondren, has such a great atmosphere. There are always those loose highschoolers running around trying to act like bad-asses, but it's always very entertaining to watch. I finally tried the Madison Cups after having one too many terrible coffees from the Starbucks at Renaissance. Not only was the "Grande" at Cups cheaper than the Starbucks' Tall, but it also tasted incredible. They had 5 different hot brews going, as opposed to the Starbucks two. I tried the Creme Brulee -- ah-mazing. I haven't had Cups sweet drinks in years so I can't comment on that, but their hot coffee was great. I'm now a Cups customer! read more

The tea selection was impressive, and they blended me up a mug of my favorite (chamomile and peppermint) to go with the cookie they gave us for free because it was broken in half. My *only* complaint is that there are only 3-4 comfortable chairs in the place. The employees are always great and you betcha that the coffee is too. The atmosphere is what sets this place apart from others. It has a very welcoming, chill vibe. Visiting from out of town, and I heard great things. The coffee is pretty good and reasonable in price. The service was timely and polite. The crowd was eclectic. Loved seeing so many dogs outside! However, it was loud and angry. Even my volume on max in my earphones, I could hear it.
