BBQ AT ITS BEST. The old Steak and Shake looks amazing. Great atmosphere. Come support this new local business and say hi to Big Mike.

Place was empty on a Thursday evening. They were out of burnt ends so I tried the ribs and brisket…read morewith a couple sides and it includes a drink. I added in the Sugar fire pie because I've never heard of it. Sugarfire Pie is actually old-fashioned Chess Pie made with butter, sugar, cream, eggs and yellow cornmeal. Yumm. There's smoke room at the picnic tables inside and out so bring as large of a party as you desire! After filling up my sweet tea I got a pickle and put a little of each bbq sauce in the trays they have available. I tried every sauce with the brisket and again every sauce with the ribs. The standout sauces were the coffee barbecue, Carolina mustard, and Texas hot in that order. The other sauces were good but not unique for me. Crazy corn was a little too saucy but had good flavors Crispy Brussel spirits were amazing and actually crispy The brisket was fantastic The ribs were pretty good. Pretty good barbecue for sure, would have liked to have gotten more brisket but it was my favorite. The sauces were standout and the pie was on Wi-Fi the best pies I've ever had. WOW it's sweet but amazing flavor and textures.

Much better this time! So glad I didn't see my other review before stopping. I had the Carolina…read moresandwich which was a perfect combination of pulled pork, slaw, and Carolina BBQ sauce. The side of buffalo cauliflower was tasty and, hopefully, a little healthier than most of their sides. Service was fine, as counter service goes. And the ambience was normal for a place like this.

This little dive is very easy to miss and is certainly not a place that would grab your attention…read morewhen you drive by. My wife and I have driven past the place 100 times and she finally talked me into trying it out for lunch. WOW. Awesome food. We both had ribs, I went for a double order of spaghetti as my side, the wife went with green beans and yams. The portions were large and came with a cornbread muffin. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and the spaghetti was very good. I am normally not a green bean fan, but I tasted the ones my wife ordered and they were delicious! It looked like small pieces of potato and I don't know what else in them. I never eat yams but these were great. Too sweet for my taste as a side, but I had them for "dessert" after finishing my meal. Tasted more like sweet potato pie than anything and dipping the cornbread muffin in the sauce was sinfully good. EVERYTHING was home made from scratch. We were way too full to try any of the desserts (cakes, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie) but I will sample them next trip. The menu is not large but be sure to ask as there are several items available not listed. I was craving some fried chicken, which I was told was available, but I'd already ordered the ribs. I'm going for the chicken next visit....collard greens were an option (not listed) as well but I am not a fan. My ONLY con would be no butter for the muffin..but it was moist without it and after I figured out how good it tasted dipped in the yam sauce, I would not have used it had it been there !We were totally stuffed for less than $20. We are already planning to head back next week. Give this place a try...you won't regret it!!!
