It was great that they had so much to offer such as cocktail hour. They offered a private room for dining. There was an upstairs loft area with more motorcycles and a little area to eat as well as restrooms. Thank you, Steve Smith, for sharing your collection! Nearly all the motorcycles had captions explaining their heritage, pedigree and history. The 1937 730cc Nimbus was manufactured in Denmark by Fisker & Nielsen in Copenhagen and the Model C was the first bike in history equipped with a telescopic front fork. The engine has many similarities to an automobile engine, including a distributor for firing the spark plugs, a cast iron exhaust manifold, an oil pan and overheard cam shaft, with exposed valves. There was an interesting wooden motorcycle, a 1955 Bergmeister 350cc made in Germany, 1928 Kaffeemuhle 185cc made in Germany, 1953 MB 250250S 250cc also from Germany. Lots of interesting stuff and great for anyone who is interested in motorcycles or vehicles. [Review 14443 overall, 1769 of 2020, number 77 in Missouri.]

Inside, the collection is genuinely impressive. There's a huge range from ancient artifacts to modern and contemporary art so it never feels repetitive. You can go from Egyptian pieces to seeing European pieces from Monet and Picasso in the same visit. One of the best parts is that general admission is free which makes it super accessible and easy to spend as much (or as little) time as you want without feeling pressured. The layout is spacious and easy to explore, although some sections feel stronger than others depending on your taste. It's also the kind of place where you can wander and really take your time. Great for both a quick visit or a longer afternoon. It's one of the best attractions in St Louis with a surprisingly deep collection. Definitely worth visiting especially if you're already in Forest Park.
