Like so many others, after binging Is It Cake? (the holiday series was just released!), I knew I…read morehad to pay Mann & Co Bakeshop a visit. This bakery is cute! I was in love with the welcoming ambiance. There's a fridge with cakes to go, and the treat window was filled with sweet goodies to stock up on. There's not much of a seating area--just two armchairs--so it's more of a takeaway spot. We purchased cake trifles (Red Velvet & Cardamom), stuffed cookies (Lotus Biscoff & Cardamom Pistachio Chai), and sweet spot cakes (Mango Lassi & Kulfi) to go. Everything was delicious! The cookies weren't overly sweet and had the perfect chewy texture. My favorite was the Cardamom Pistachio Chai. Unfortunately, our visit happened to be during the heavy winds when most of the Lower Mainland had a power outage. I was so happy they were still open, as we had driven all the way from East Van to get there. They were flexible enough to take e-transfer as payment, which was a lifesaver. And lucky for us, we got to meet the man behind the bakery, Jujhar! Even though he was busy dealing with the power outage, he still took the time to say hello, which was really nice. I wish they were closer, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise because my wallet and waistline would definitely be in trouble. Overall, Mann & Co Bakeshop is absolutely worth the visit, even with a bit of a drive. The creative flavors, high-quality treats, and friendly service make it a standout spot for baked goods. I'll definitely be back (probably sooner than I should) to try more of their unique creations. If you're a fan of Is It Cake? or just love a good dessert adventure, this place should be on your list!

This time, the sale item was a cheese wiener bun which was fairly solid but could've used a bit more cheese in my opinion. I'm excited to see what other items they will put as part of this promotion since I'm able to try new buns that I wouldn't normally get (I usually stick to their Curry Beef Bun since it's the best one I've had). I've also tried their cakes in the past and I would rank them fairly high amongst other Chinese bakeries in the area though their cakes are a bit more pricy. Overall a very convenient location especially when on the way to Walmart for errands, a very solid Chinese bakery with lots of pastries that aren't too sweet

In an age where Afternoon Tea can cost up to $70+ per person, a place that charges $54 for a 2 person Afternoon Tea set is an absolute gem! Our teas came in these neat little teapots which dispensed tea from the bottom of the pot simply by placing the pot on top of the teacup! I was happy that the shop was able to accommodate my request for a Vegetarian Afternoon Tea. You do need to give them advance notice for this though. Our food was a bit slow to come out, but everything was prepared fresh and we very much enjoyed the food once it was brought to us. I especially loved the savoury puff pastries!
