Had the skillet eggs, and they were delicious! Only problem was that the potatoes on the side were really hot and I burnt my tongue, so it wasn't quite as enjoyable as I wanted it to be. But I will definitely be back maybe for lunch or dinner next. read more

Cup Cafe claimed that "every day is a challah-day" and if I were to eat their challah french toast everyday that would be absolutely. IT WAS AMAZING!!! That being said, I think all challah french toast is amazing, so I'm pretty easy to please. I will say this, their challah was extremely fresh, light and fluffy so the cup cafe gets bonus points for that. Overall, it's a nice place with a fantastic ambiance and good food. It's the perfect place to bring out-of-towners to show them what Tucson can offer. read more

BEST brunch hang -get there early! Also great for a mid-week drinks and tapas vibe with outdoor patio and live music.

When it comes to the cup there is never a time that I leave disappointed. Breakfast, lunch or dinner always hits the spot... I am always please with my meal that I rarely leave my plate with a trace of food. One of my favorite dishes is the braveheart. It consists of smoked beef brisket over a sourdough bread. It is topped with tomatoes, sautéed spinach, gruyère cheese, poached eggs, sausage gravy, and served with potatoes. A delicious and very filling dish. read more

This review is based on breakfast alone. It was delicious. I suppose not everyone orders 3 entire breakfasts for 2 people, but I highly recommend it here. Ordered: (1) Eggs & Gunpowder--2 eggs over easy served on a bed of their spicy potato wedge/home fries and turkey chorizo sausage with a boatload of melted pepper jack cheese on top. mmmmmmm, spicy melty eggy cheesy goodness. (2) Avocado, mushroom, spinach and feta omelet. Ohhhhhh, melty greeny salty goodness. (3) Banana short stack. Sides of Bacon and Sausage. Seriously, you need to order this to round out your breakfast entrees. The wait for a table is too long, but service is most decidely not rushed. Coffee is mediocre, so I hear. The tea was all right, after I figured out that they actually gave me hot water. Server was a little creepy. I ordered macaroons for dessert. read more

Sunday brunch here is pretty good. Honestly, that's all I can say. I love both Club Congress and Congress' bar. But the only times I've ever been to the Cup Cafe is for Sunday Brunch. I will tell you that their brunch is awesome. Wait for 9:30 or 10:00 AM to roll around if you are interested in their brunch specials. The specials can be awesome. I'm in love with some of their brunch specials. But if you are waiting until that time I will tell you now that there will be a wait. If you are okay with the regular menu then get there before 8:00 to avoid the crowds. By the way, their mimosa are quite good and their bloody marys are some of the best in Tucson. All in all this is a pretty good brunch spot. I can only image the rest of their menu is pretty good too. read more

I'm not sure what happened to the House Bloody Mary, The Cup used to have a consistently delicious BM, but the last 2 times we've been in, the Bloody Mary's have been awful. Tomato juice & vodka isn't what we expect here. The chorizo w/eggs was amazing. Service was excellent, just need to get back to the BM we all expect! read more

We went for brunch and everything was fabulous! The patio is really nice. The food was delicious, and the server was super nice & patient. We will be back! read more

First time yelping, long time patron. We have been here so many times but keep forgetting to yelp it. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner have an excellent menu with lots of variety. Ingredients are always fresh and the meals are prepared perfectly. Service is excellent. It is also located in the Hotel Congress, which means there's always something going on. You can eat inside or outside, both are good choices if the weather permits. Favorite memory is eating here Christmas morning where the wine pour was extra long. read more

This place was almost wonderful. The service is what really lowered the score because the food has mixed reviews. We had an open table reservation so luckily we were seated pretty much on time. But once our waitress came to the table to get our drink orders it took her 30 minutes to come back to take our order. It was over 45 minutes before we had our food. Thank goodness the kitchen didn't take just as long or I may have lost my mind. The ambiance is hipster. I love the classic hotel feel and it was a lovely experience in that way. The seating is a little cramped though but doable. Had way worse. The food... my flank steak was delicious the chimichurri sauce was solid but the chips it came with were inedible seasoning wise. The side of cheese veggie, I'm not sure what they called it was pretty good. My kid had Mac and cheese off the kids menu. Loved that they had one. Score there too. My older kid had the depot salad which was solid. My husband got ribs and he knows his bbq and he said it was weak. The Mac and cheese he had on the side was terrific though. I even had a bite and it was enough to almost give this place four stars alone but then the waitress never came back to check on us. Luckily there was another waitress coming by to fill up our waters because the sodas weren't filled more than once later on. The desserts: coconut cream pie was one of the best I've ever had, and the double chocolate pudding was solid. read more

This is by far my favorite breakfast/brunch place to eat at! I've been coming to the Cup Cafe for the past 16 years and I never get tired of it. Their tofu scramble is amazing and comes with the best potatoes ever! Definitely give those a try if you happen to get breakfast. Also, the heartbreaker is great to get at the bar if you want something small yet flavorful to fill you up. Lots of great options for vegetarians like myself, which is one of the many reasons this place is so great. read more

Cup Cafe - Tofu scramble with potatoes and a side of avocado, delicious! - New American Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

Beautiful and delicious food. Service is hit or miss at times, but this applies anywhere. Still the Tucson go-to for breakfast or brunch.

Came in grabbed a caffe late and a chai :) really great service! Alex the bar tender was really nice, quick service, made my sisters and my day! We didn't order any food but it looked good, especially the omelets! read more

Cup Cafe - Great service :) yummy coffee and has wifi :)! - New American Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

This was such an awesome find. It took me a second to realize it was inside the hotel but it was worth it. I was in somewhat of a hurry and so I found a seat at the bar, ordered right away, for brought a class of water without me having to ask (which is always nice). The food was so hot and full of goodness that I didn't mind burning my tongue. Food was excellent. Service was quick and I'm definitely headed back. read more

First timer. I'm a fan. Keith, our server attentive and efficient. Food delicious. Sat outdoors and listened to some great jazz. Evening could not have been nicer. read more

I met friends at the Cup Cafe this morning. While waiting for a table I asked the lobby bartender for a drink. She was confused because I didn't order a Bloody Mary and it took her quite some time to figure out how to make a Vodka and Grapefruit juice. She had never heard of a Greyhound. I bought my friend a Bloody Mary and she had a difficult time figuring out the bill, didn't bother to tell me what the total was and poured the change in my hand. The breakfast was marginal at best but the flies seemed to really enjoy the environment. This place is overpriced, the food is pedestrian. The Staff is pleasant but not at their best on a Sunday morning. The waiter had the shakes so bad he had to use two hands to put a coffee cup on the table. Stop somewhere else for a more pleasant experience. read more

Went for breakfast, I don't know why my daughter hadn't taken us here before cuz breakfast was way good. I had the chorizo and eggs with tortillas. My husband ordered from the omelet bar, my daughters had the anduilli sausage and eggs and we all shared a piece of blackberry pie. Dominique was our server and did such an excellent job and the food was good and hot that we went back again. No pie the second time around but not cuz it wasn't good. we added the huevos ranchero's which was really good. Were going back again when we visit. My daughter says that happy hour is great there too, so I think we'll have to try that next along with the bloody mary bar on sundays!! read more

Lovely Peach Bellinis and Bloody Mary Bar . The club sandwich , huevos rancheros , and Sawdust bowl are all awesome . A lovely brunch !

Patio is relaxing. Extremely pet friendly which is hard to find. The wait staff is efficient and the food is great. I see why it's rated so high. I am from out of town and walked 2 miles to get here-worth the walk!!!! read more

What happened to customer service and thinking outside the box? A reservation for 8 on Sunday at 11. Oh sure sir we take reservations. Oh for 8 at 11. Sorry sir before 10 or after 1 for a party of 8. Manager was standing right there also. How about,... sir, we can do two tables of 4 next to each other, they offered up to 6. Wow! It makes no sense. I know thats their busy time but they should be able to accommodate 8. Its really sad that they lost my business simply becuase they wont accept a reservation for a party of 8. What if I walk up between 10 and 1 and say there is 8 in my party? Are they going to turn me away? I would think not. You would think in this day and age especially when busineeses have been hurting to find solutions that could be win win. Sorry Cup you lose. read more

Finally went to Cup Cafe expecting a great meal. Super disappointed. Had the fish of the day salmon with chili beurre blanc and coconut rice. The beurre blanc was buried underneath bland and soupy coconut rice. The dried out overcooked thin piece of salmon was on top of it all. I couldn't manage more than a bite of the rice and ate about half the sad piece of salmon only because I was super hungry due to skipping lunch. I gave two stars because the service was decent. Wishing I had ordered something that they are known for instead of the fish of the day. read more

It's inside Hotel Congress, which is a good thing. Sat at the bar in the Cup for a quick bite and drink prior to heading outside for HocoFest. The bartender was top notch, both at his trade and at his friendliness. Ordered an Espresso Martini. I have never tasted better. This is a killer drink. I also ordered a "simple" appetizer that contained sourdough crunchy bread, artichoke hearts, a tangy orange marmalade, brie and roasted garlic. I could eat that roasted garlic and cheese all day long. So good! While I did not sample an entree, the menu was varied and somewhat classy at reasonable prices, with a number of offerings for meat-eaters, pescaterians (sp?) and veggies alike. This was the first time I had actually eaten here in the evening, although I have been here for breakfasts in the past. Those are equally tasty, especially on Sunday when you can compliment your meal with a "build-your-own" Bloody Mary from the lounge bar. Bar seating, as well as tables indoor and outside on a nice patio. read more

While visiting my BF's fam in Tuscon, we went here for lunch--mostly to satisfy his penchant for history(The Hotel Congress is where Dillinger was caught). The weather was nice(hello, it's Arizona!) so we sat outside. It's a great location to kick back and relax. We were a bit surprised by the lack of speedy service...given that it was off-rush and there were only a handful of other patrons. I chose the Gila Monster(Spicy Meatloaf Sandwich on Rye) and a cup of Vegetable Tortilla soup. The sandwich had a nice kick, and was more than filling. The soup wasn't what I was expecting out of a Tortilla Soup, but it was good. Kind of like a spicy bloody mary in a bowl. With Chips stuck in it. My boyfriend's sister got a turkey sandwich with green chiles and avocado that looked really yummy. I would probably go here for a coffee and a chat more than the food. read more

Eating at any establishment in Tucson can be hit or miss unless it's one of the ultra premium steak houses on Sunrise or other four-star. The Cup has been a favorite of mine for many years. You need to go with an open mind, and laid back, stoner, attitude because this is exactly what you'll get from the staff. The food is reliably tasty and the service is usually acceptable. I see a lot of people on here who have had bad experiences there, but that can be in the eye of the beholder too. The Gila Monster meat loaf sandwich is awesome and so is their feta garlic dressing. BTW, the Tap Room has cans of Shlitz for a buck. You can't beat that! read more

Best meal I had in Tucson hands down. As it was breakfast we started with mimosas and they went down all too easily. I'd ordered a second one as our meal arrived. The Silverside Hash was phenomenal! House-pickled corned beef, two poached eggs, whole grain mustard hollandaise, with toast (rye for me, please). Filling and delicious. One of my dining companions had the Chilaquiles Verde (braised pork, poached eggs, corn tortilla, tomatillo sauce, asadero and cotija cheeses, cilantro, with fresh fruit) and while I only had a sample, I loved it too! Our dishes were served in a portion sized cast iron skillet (very hot) and the service was excellent. We never had to ask for refills of coffee or water. Excellent food, and while not inexpensive, completely worth the cost. read more

Celebrated a recent birthday with a large group on the patio of the Cup Cafe. From the planning stage, management worked with us on the arrangements, offering a small-scale menu to accommodate our large-scale group and the ambiance, service, food, and drinks were excellent. Always a favorite for dining al fresco, the Cup, located in historic Hotel Congress, is a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and music. The plaza is dog-friendly and staff always makes sure Fido has a bowl of water nearby. Truly the heart of downtown Tucson. read more

Tuesday am no wait at all! I am sure the weekends are packed though! Outside seating.... yes please, beautiful Tuscon! Lots of veg and vegan options!! ordered the tofu scramble. Atmosphere is chill, lighting relaxing, service decent. Love coming here. If you haven't been it's a must try. The one thing that fell short this experience was the "Gin Blossom" I ordered...had too much grapefruit bitterness for my taste...but theres a wide selection besides that. read more

Superb bloody mary bar on Sundays! Hello, I got goat cheese, cilantro and a pickle in mine! (don't knock it til you try it). The patio is amazing and dog friendly. The service is great... I typically go for brunch on the weekend and the place is always packed but the servers are always attentive. Everything I've tried has tasted amazing! And I would give this place 5 stars but they got rid of the Croque Señor. Are you crazy, Cup Cafe?! read more

Brunch is a serious affair! At least for me it is, especially on a Sunday morning after a bit of partying happened the night before and cup cafe fits the bill perfectly! So head to the hotel Congress and first of all grab yourself a delicious bloody Mary at the bar in the lobby. You can customize it as much as you want! Love me some cucumbers and a pickle! Then head to the cup cafe and order your food, everything is excellent, but I've heard the smoked brisket is made there and to die for! Sometimes they have live music in the hotel lobby, one time it a was a group that played so good we ended up buying their cd, support local artists! Enjoy your brunch! Cheers :) read more

What an awesome place this is, especially for a downtown hotel coffee shop. We were staying in the Hotel Congress and the reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Dinner was an enormous portion of schnitzel with spaetzle and some savory sauteed greens. This was accompanied by a wonderful light mushroom cream sauce that perfectly cut the crunch of the pork. The people watching is also first rate. The service was constant but not obtrusive and we decided that this would also be our breakfast choice. Wow, they scored as well early as late. Excellent coffee, cheerful service and a super selection for breakfast made 2 hits. Don't miss the egg bake and the skillet. read more

We were seated right away (what is it with this town and no waiting for restaurants? It's awesome!). It was a Saturday morning on a busy weekend and we were seated right away. I love it! I love the penny floor and the cupboards made out of copper boxes. Our server was friendly but a little forgetful. My husband had the corned beef hash which he loved. I had the cinnamon flapjacks with banana rum sauce and blueberries. They were pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly commendable. The bacon was over-cooked. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled. Yummy breakfast! read more

Beer-battered fish & chips with cole slaw. Good cole slaw, crisp without an excess of liquid; yummy fries, crisp outsides with soft insides and skin left on; cod, its usual tasteless self, encased in a crisp batter, with a choice of spicy tartar sauce or malt vinegar. I just had water to drink. I've had the coffee before and thought it unremarkable. The dessert display looks wonderful, but I've run out of lunch time : ( I think the tartar sauce is homemade, and I ate some with my fries. read more

My wife and I have been here a couple of times now and we love it! The drinks are good, the food is tasty, and sitting outside on the patio is pleasant.
