It was super crowded when I went but all the wait staff were doing a good job and food didn't take too long. I've gotten this vegan burrito three times - the first time I think it was the first day they had it on the menu and it wasn't good, very salty and the tofu had no actual flavor :( . The second time was MUCH better and tasted great but it came as one burrito, not two smaller ones like the picture I posted. The third time is as pictured - I actually like the two smaller burritos better. The espresso was fine, strong. I've previously had the cold brew, also alright and strong. I've also previously had the veggie sandwich and tofu scramble which were ok but for the price (both $16, may come to $18 if using a CC) left A LOT to be desired. Cafe Passé in Tucson has such a chill vibe! It's a walk-up-and-order kind of place, then you find a seat and enjoy your meal. The menu has a lot of great options and is surprisingly vegan-friendly. Dessert lovers, take note and decide fast because the sweets go quickly! I tried the banana bread, which wasn't my favorite (a bit on the dry side), but the chocolate chip cookies totally made up for it, huge and delicious. I originally ordered the tuna melt, but it just wasn't for me. The manager was super understanding and swapped it for a grilled cheese, which was amazing. My husband had the steak frites and loved them so much that it made me a little jealous! They also have a fridge stocked with wine and canned beers, which you can enjoy there or take to go. We had a really great brunch prior to our visit to the Tucson Museum of Art. The food was simple and good, we ordered the Migas plate sub tofu for egg and we also enjoyed a glad of iced coffee. The day was windy but we still sat outside and enjoyed our meal. Lots more seating outback than inside, inside had a small sit at the bar area and a cozy indoor space. Four out of five mornings in Tucson we had breakfast here! Charming cafe, large patio seating, dog friendly tho we don't have our pup with us. Everything we had was so good we would have it again, but we wanted to try other items. Oddly enough neither of had breakfast burritos which is usually the husband's favorite. We had French toast (with berry and lemon curd topping) tofu scrambles, eggs with the "usual" (but better than usual!) and a bagel sandwich with humans, greens, tomat s and olives. I've been visiting Cafe Passe since I was a student at the UA (many moons ago) and these days, love stopping by during the sleepy summer months. The staff is always so friendly and the space is so warm and welcoming (but appropriately cool, given the AC.) I ordered a hibiscus iced tea and taco salad with beef and a side of salsa during my most recent visit and was quickly reminded why this has been a longtime favorite for so many. The tea was delicious and flavorful and the salad simple and perfect. The beef was perfectly cooked and the veggies crisp and fresh. To our pleasure though, the restaurant was not busy, and we were able to grab a spot in the cute outside ally for seating . We ordered the breakfast fries, breakfast sandwich, ranch fries, and the lemon blueberry French toast. Our server was nice buuut not attentive I think, as she came back 3x's to confirm something or ask about something she forgot. The food was good, with the exception of the French toast which was incredibly soggy and cold (even to the touch). I don't understand this as I would assume it was made fresh. Cafe Passe is an absolute gem at the heart of 4th Ave. The building itself has quirky charm, and my favorite area for caffeinated bliss is back in the courtyard. I typically think of Passé as a relaxing brunch and coffee location with quiet ambience, but during a recent visit on an otherwise generic Sunday, I happened to catch live music there too, which really made my day. I didn't realize they host performers regularly now, and the menu has several options that were new to me too. Both the to-go and main dining areas can be busy during street fairs and other events, but in general it's an easygoing place with quick access via the trolley and excellent access to local shops and businesses. I was dying for some American vittles, and this café was the nearest one that was not a Mexican food joint. Don't get me wrong. I love Mexican food, but have already had two meals here in Tucson. Walk in the front of this café and it looks like a dump. Just keep going into the interior until you find the outdoor seating area. It was shaded and comfy. I had the French breakfast option and it was very satisfying. No bling just good food. parking in that area is pretty terrible, but there's lots of boutique shopping in the area. Don't mind the homeless guy sleeping on the sidewalk. He's basically harmless. Just throw some money down in his cup, and you will be rewarded in heaven. read more

Tucson hidden gem: ambiance, service, coffee and food all excellent. The back courtyard is inviting, well-laid out, plenty of tables and a couple of three-seater sofas. Lots of healthy, happy plants and shade. Our server brought ice water promptly, was warm, friendly, answered all our questions and got our orders out quickly. We ordered the grilled cheese and fries, plus a Bruce Lee (coffee + condensed milk), spicy mocha (cinnamon and cayenne) and a cappuccino. The coffees were robust; foam on the mochas and capp thick and creamy. The grilled cheese arrived hot and gooey, and is generously sized - it satisfied a 6'4" teen. The fries with it were hot, very crisp, perfectly seasoned. We'll be back to try their other menu options: breakfast and lunch. read more

Ambience Coffee Service I've been twice, ordered the same French toast breakfast with house made lemon curd, berry compote, scrambled eggs and sausage. The eggs taste like real eggs you scramble (as they should), sausage tastes like they made it there in the kitchen as well. The berry compote and lemon curd is amazing. I've had a cappuccino and a specialty coffee I can't remember the name, but had honey and cinnamon I believe- both fantastic. There is a wonderful barista bar so the coffee drinks are legit. The ambience is wonderful! Casual, cozy, eclectic and little European maybe. I've eaten both indoors and out and love the different options for a unique vibe. Tucson has a lot of restaurants that can take folks not from here some adjusting. I wasn't used to the grabbing your own menu, seating yourself, sometimes going up to order or sometimes a server will come to you. It takes getting used to. Cafe Passé has a sign telling you exactly what to do and with some light humor as well! You grab a menu and someone will be with you and take your order. I felt the service was very attentive! My first visit we had one server and the second no less than 4 people served and checked up on us. For me, this is a happy and cozy little spot I can relax, read, knit, visit with friends and family all while enjoying good coffee, food and atmosphere. Very cool little cafe on 4th avenue in downtown Tucson. Definitely a retro casual cafe feel to the place. Almost like you're in someone's house. I had the bagel and egg sandwich and it was fantastic. What a great find for brunch! Came here on a Sunday around 1 PM, no reservation and got seated right away! I loved my locks and bagel, it was very fresh and the flavors all mashed very well together. We also tried the Turkish eggs, not my favorite but a little different with the yogurt and dill. French toast comes with three huge slices and it is very large, can be a good dessert for after brunch. Cocktails were good too! Got the broccoli pie. Margarita and it did not disappoint. There's a nice patio in the back too, in the winter a little chilly when you're not seated in the sun, so we decide to sit inside. I do want to come back and try some other options from the menu! We chose to sit at the indoor bar and ordered drinks. My dad requested a cappuccino, which the barista set down with coffee spilled over the sides, casually saying, "You'll be alright," before walking away--without a word from us. It felt surprisingly dismissive for a place at this price point. The food itself was underwhelming. The toast arrived barely warm, and overall the dishes lacked flavor or attention to detail. The atmosphere inside also felt flat and unwelcoming, which only added to the disappointment. For the cost, we expected far better service and quality. So yummy and the staff is always so kind. I was able to get the shaded little nook in the back all to myself while I worked which was super calming. I'm like Goldilocks when it comes to find a good place to get work done and this place is just the bees knees. What I had I cannot see on the online menu but it was a 10/10 Lemon & Berry French Toast I also ordered the Cafe de Olla Latte but ended up switching it out for just a regular cup of coffee. 1 because I it didn't taste like it was actually prepared the way cafe de olla is supposed to be made. More just like the added cinnamon and clove to an espresso shot. Also it was room temp when I got it? Really wanted a BLT so I ordered the Pig and Pickle with the pickle on the side. I enjoyed how the food was filling but still on the light side (not a huge portion, lots of veggies, etc). It was an okay meal, but I'm not a fan of whatever mayo they use on the sandwich and in the potato salad.
