Honestly, the service is just fantastic. Yes, it is likely that you may have to wait for a table, but if it's the weekend, you can grab a drink and chill or if it's a good day, then they also seat on the patio. When my son, inadvertently dropped a bit of food on his trousers, the server arrived with club soda immediately. Our wishes were his command and he was anticipating our wishes in advance. I love their huevos rancheros. My kids got omelettes and pancakes and there was plenty of food for all. Our server was attentive to our morning coffee needs and also to our need to stay hydrated. It's a lively place from the music to the penny-laden floor. On weekends, there is sometimes live music. My only beef with the Cup Cafe is that their potatoes are just meh. Granted, I don't need to eat them but the rest of the breakfast is so good that if they stepped up their home fry game, it would be fantastic. Going back often. read more

I wish I could share with you all of my favorite things on the Cup's brunch menu but I am a loyalist to The Baked Eggs. I moved away from Tucson for a few years and I would dream of this dish. Served in a cast iron pan with an "It's Hot" warning from the kind server, this is the breakfast hill I will die on. Over the years, I have added a little bit of my own spin on the dish by subbing the ham with bacon (wild, I know). It comes with potatoes and fruit and if I am feeling especially demure, I will forgo the potatoes but I always regret it. I have taken bites of other dishes at the Cup and I have never said anything less than, YUM, but only fools order anything but the baked eggs (just kidding, friends). If you visit the Cup for lunch or dinner, there's lots of good options. The cocktail menu is one of Tucson's best. The Bloody Mary bar is THE BEST. read more

Probably my new fav breakfast spot, I got the stuffed French toast and hubby got the gunpowder... I stole my husbands meal, it was so good, I wanted to order another one. Service was amazing. I think her name was Jessica?! Very attentive and friendly and really fun. And the mimosas are really good too! Can't wait to try dinners. read more

Cup Cafe never disappoints. Stopped in for happy hour on Friday night. Not only did they graciously serve 20+ of us, they did it well. Over the course of the evening, our group continued to grow and each time a new person came in, there was a waitress ready to take our order. They even accommodated us with extra seating. The happy hour specials are great. 3 dollar you call its, 5 dollar specialty drinks, and 5 dollar happy hours. The nachos were gourmet with an avocado crema and it seemed, freshly baked chips. My only complaint is that the bean dip is on the bottom of the plate and thus, not well evenly spread on the chips. And as a note, the specialty cocktails really vary in size. So, if you want the bang for your buck get "The Speech Therapy." It's the size of four cocktails and you might need help speaking after this one. read more

The following review pertains to drinks and brunch only I fluctuate between a 3 and 4 on cup cafe but in the end I decided to go with 3 for a few reasons... The good: I love their outdoor patio Their bloody mary's are pretty good Service is usually good Menu is interesting The not so good: I don't love their food. The portions are great, the presentation is great, but the flavor isn't out of this world. Same goes for the drinks. I will keep going to Cup Cafe for brunch (really really love that patio) and eventually try lunch/dinner but I do wish the food was a wee bit better. read more

First time having breakfast here. We made the mistake of not getting a reservation so we ended up waiting an 1 1/2. Once we finally was seated we had great service. The coffee and the food was amazing. We had pancakes and omelet's. I hope to go back again soon but next time I will have a reservation. Oh by the way the bloody Mary's are not bad either. read more

The Cup is great for everyday food, they win lots of awards, but did you know they have a kick ass Thanksgiving dinner? Our family goes every year to Turkey Day dinner with The Cup. It is reasonably priced, delicious, you can also order anything off the regular menu, and you don't have to wash any dishes! There is always enough left over for the midnight snack! read more

I've eaten here a bunch over the years, I've stayed at the Hotel Congress a few times, and I even got married on the Club Congress stage. Now you probably think I am biased, but it's just not the case. The fact is that this is a great place to eat, even if you aren't staying at the hotel. The coffee is excellent, and while I did prefer the menu before they pared it down, it still has a lot of great things to eat on it. The reason I was inspired to write this particular review though, are those god damn baked eggs: They take a cast iron skillet, and fill it with leeks, ham, sausage, gruyere cheese and eggs, and then top it of with cream. CREAM! And then they bake it, and the eggs come served perfectly poached in this bath of deliciousness that even now i want to use a particular 10-letter word with an added in' on the end to describe how G O O D they were. Your choice of toast and a side of the house potatoes, roasted peppers, onions and garlic are also included. I want to eat this again, right now, even though I am about 2 hours away. It's the kind of breakfast you dream about. read more

They serve breakfast until 4 pm!! I got the steak and eggs and it was perfectly cooked. My friend got the cast iron baked eggs. While it looked absolutely delicious, she said it was a bit too rich! The actual cafe was kind of hard to find and doesn't look as nice as it does in the pictures. They had great food and outdoor seating though! read more

Love their breakfast of baked eggs in a skillet. I find the wait staff is always attentive. The Congress hotel ambiance is wonderful. I found this this restaurant on tv many years ago they were doing shots of Tucson restaurants .I have taken a lot of newbies to Az there. Horrible service at 9:30 in the morning. The back patio was empty. I was asked if I had a reservation. I was a party of 1 and they had to take my name and phone number down after standing in an empty line left to continue waiting for a table in a sea of empty tables. The old woman host seems unable to manage just a few patrons. She was rude and I decided this restaurant is not worth my money. Will not be back and would not recommend. read more

Just finished bunch with my wife. Our experience was not the most pleasant. Arriving to the restaurant we wanted to eat on the mostly empty patio but we're told they weren't seating anyone on the patio anymore but later seated other people to eat. During our meal, a table of college age girls was seated next to us and at least 3 or 4 male staff members to include the creepy old manager came up multiple times to harass and disturb them. The table be hind us, inside the restaurant had a gentleman that was allowed to have his cat in a dirty carrier on the actual table and nothing was said about that. Pretty sure that doesn't meet health code standards. Our food was a dry flavorless chicken sandwich. I will say the fries were at least awesome though but definitely not worth a $62 lunch. Do better Cup Cafe! Your creepy staff and dirty standards were disappointing compared to the last time I ate at Cup Cafe a couple of years ago read more

Poor service. Forgetting items ordered. Food is bland. management aloof. Parking issues.

I have been eating at The Cup for over 30 years. The food is still real good, but not as good as in the past. The taste was good, presentation was ok. Steak salad was real good, not excellent. Friend has Southwest salad said it was great. The service was underwhelming. Friday night kind of busy. Ordered ok, asked if we wanted drinks, good. Never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks or desert. Came back once to see if dinner was ok. Dinner plates left on table for 10 min or so, when finished. Had to flag waitress down for bill. Did not ask if we wanted anything else? read more

I haven't had breakfast here for a while, and went with my daughter and her finance today. It's always good! My daughter and I had the chilaquilas - they were very good, spiced just right, the poached eggs were a bit overdone, but spices, and tortillas, everything else was cooked just right. My daughters fiancé had the lox and bagels, which were excellent. The service was good, and prompt, the place was busy, but we were checked on often. I love eating in this historic setting, you have a definite awareness of being in Tucson when you eat here. Anyone visiting should come here, and see the hallway of the clippings of where Dillinger was captured, and listen to the weekend DJ they have in the lobby. There is a great bloody mary bar here - the best one in Tucson! read more

Went here for breakfast and my omelette was fluffy, sizable and came with potatoes and 3 slices of good toast. The choices were ample and of high quality. I added onions, jalapeños (which aren't on the menu), avocado, and Gruyere to my omelette. I didn't sample their coffee since I had brought some from cartel but they were attentively refilling my water glass so I can only imagine they would have been as generous with a "cup of Joe". Also, tha hotel has an incredible bar and many interesting locals hangout. I also once wandered into a show where mudhoney was playing. Awesome. Needless to say I love this town, and this restaurant, in this hotel, is in the heart of it all. read more

Had the omelette which was very good. Came with breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. Toast wasn't toasted very much. Service was slow. Had to ask for a wait staff x2. This place was pretty cool. It's inside the Congress Hotel and there's some cool history to it. The Bloody Mary bar was fun and the bartender was friendly and informative! The food was good and the wait time wasn't bad especially with having to follow covid guidelines. We sat outside and they brought over umbrellas for you if needed so you weren't sitting directly in the sun. The food was pretty good and very filling. The coffee was average but I liked how they called the red eyes "cowboy coffee." Definitely worth checking out and learning a little history while you're at it! read more

Cup Cafe never disappoints, whether you're having breakfast or dinner. I love their chilaquiles as well as their pancakes and dinner is always an good culinary adventure; last night we started off with their Cauliflower tacos which were so flavourful you won't miss the meat. My only disappointment was that the plate only has 3 tacos to share between 2 people. My spouse had the Southwest salad which was huge and packed with flavor. I got the fried Tofu sandwich which was as good as the TucsonFoodie write up! The slaw, pickles, sauce combo with fried tofu makes this an excellent sandwich. Worth noting: the coffee here is always good, and I've never once had a burnt cup. Make the effort to go, it's a great place with excellent food and a laid back vibe. read more

The Cup Café is located in the historic and much sought after tourism section of Tucson in the famous Congress Hotel. We were seated promptly and given a warming heater as we asked to be sat outside on their patio section. A bus boy immediately gave us glasses of water and our server came by immediately and took our drink orders, I tried their hot chai tea which was very good. There's quite a large menu to choose from. I ordered the barrio bread avocado toast with scrambled eggs and a salad. When it first arrived it was cold as though it had been sitting on a steam table for sometime as well as the bread was so hard I couldn't cut through it. I immediately let my server know and they graciously took it back, apologized and said they would make me a whole new dish, which they did and it turned out to be hot and delicious. I look forward to going back and trying some of their other dishes on the menu! While you're there be sure to tour the hotel as it is quite interesting! Remember John Dillinger?? read more

This was my first time eating at cup cafe, but it for sure won't be my last! We went for brunch with a group of friends and it could not have been a more perfect location. The breakfast menu had a great variety of options and is served until 4pm. They also had an amazing Create your own Bloody Mary or mimosa bar! We finished the meal off with a tasty cake that was perfection. Our server's name was Justin and he was phenomenal! The manager was also super helpful and checked in on us several times during the meal. We had a great experience, check it out you won't regret it! read more

I went here after dinner to grab dessert and it was delightful! I've been to Congress numerous times, but never had Cup Cafe (but always have heard great things!). I was happy to hear I didn't have to dine in and that I could enjoy my to-go dessert in the club to watch live music. The carrot cake and coconut cream pie (VERY coconut-y) are divine. I was told their desserts are baked fresh daily. The slices are a little pricey (spent $30 + tip on 4 slices total). I would like to come back for breakfast or lunch. read more

I love The Cup. It is often excellent. The atmosphere is great. The food is consistently compelling and the service staff is very cool and mostly friendly. The cocktails are often very good but depends on who's making. My greatest disappointment with the cup is their solid stance against better gluten-free options. But it's still one of my favorite restaurants in town. read more

This place is a gem. Excellent lunch option, on the pricey side but certainly worth it. Impressive dishes with both flavor and style. The Thanksgiving Dinner one year was pretty much perfect. Working downtown I used to come here with coworkers alot for they late brunch. In the past couple of years even before the pandemic the service has declined to a terrible level. I decided to give it another try for brunch and not only was my simple egg breakfast order wrong but my server was rude about fixing it. I don't mind mistakes but customers should not be made to feel like it is their fault. read more

Very disappointing! Went to the Cup Cafe for a "quick" meal -- soup and bread -- and mentioned to our waiter that we were there for a "quick" meal. He must've not understood. We simply asked for some chili, soup, and their good bread, and thought that we'd get served soon. After a LONG wait, and after keeping a seemingly endless eye on the kitchen, the food finally arrived. There was no knife to spread the butter on the bread, so we asked for a knife. When it arrived, we also had to tell the waiter there were no utensils nor napkins! The chili had obviously been dished up and had sat there for a long time, because it had dried on top. This was confirmed when eating it, because the top was cold and the bottom was hot. We asked for the check when the food was served, because we needed to make a quick exit to meet our ride. But he forgot. We had to ask for it again! I would've left NO TIP, but the waiter stood over me, watching me complete the transaction. This was an AWFUL experience. I wouldn't ever come back here again -- even if the bread and pesto and butter were great! read more

This is one of the best spots in town! Saturday and Sunday brunches are on point or it can be great for an intimate dinner. The food is always delicious, staff is always prompt and friendly. The hotel it is located in had the best Bloody Mary bar in existence and for those who like sweet beverages, the ghost orchid is a great alternative to the traditional mimosas you usually get at brunch. read more

Loved the atmosphere, classic diner/cafe style. They had music on the weekend for brunch which was nice. The huevo rancheros was fantastic, hit the spot for me! The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the Bloody Mary, wish it had more flavor. read more

Terrible experience! So many things went wrong. Came here by accident and decided to stay because of the old cool vintage decor. We thought it would be a great experience and didn't mind the 30-40mins wait time for a patio table. 40mins went by and still no table, but when we got our table, it was an indoor table. I went to asked the hosts about the patio table and they said it was extremely packed. Well, I took a picture of the empty patio table for two before we sat down and during, it remain empty through more than half way through our lunch. On top of this, we waited for a long time to place our orders and when I was about to leave, she came to take our orders. We ordered French toast, 1 cappuccino, 1 latte, and the king clubs sandwich. Took forever to get our food and I was on the edge of leaving the table again, and then she brought out our food. A table on the patio next to us, came after us and even got their food before us. Therefore, maybe it was just us receiving a terrible experience from waiting to servicing. To top it off, the food was blend and overpriced. $10 for plain French toast, I'll stick to Baja Cafe for breakfast and brunch goodies from now on. I strongly feel it was just us not getting good service because everyone else around us seems more than fine. I won't be coming back and if you want to experience it, go there with a full stomach just in case you have to wait hours for your table and food. Edit: still waiting for our check and leave this place. 2hrs later and still waiting around! We checked in with them exactly at 12:17pm and just now leaving at 2:10pm. And yes, we still tipped! read more

Amazing food. Great location. It's where John Dillinger was caught. BUT the staff is off putting and rude. They made me feel unwelcome and that I was inconveniencing them. The food and drinks were delicious. Service was a little slow but no biggie... we were on vacation, so no time crunch and we were loving the beautiful weather on the patio. Fun spot to grab some breakfast or brunch in Tucson! Parking is either street or in one of the garage's not far from the front door. It's literally located inside the Hotel Congress, so you can look around the lobby of the hotel while you wait to be seated. There's not a lot of seating inside, and the outside seating could be uncomfortable if it's a really hot day. So we had to wait a while for our table since we preferred indoors. We might have had to wait like 30-40 min I think. The service was excellent overall. Our food was served quickly and correctly, and we were checked on frequently. Even while we were waiting in the lobby we were constantly informed of the status of our table due to our wait. The food was excellent overall! I had the quiche, which that day was top sirloin, bell pepper, onion and cheddar. It was huge! The chilaquiles verde was also excellent. The portion sizes were also very reasonable for the price. Overall, great place to grab some breakfast or brunch in Tucson! Highly recommend this place! read more
