    Soup Chicken Momo 6
    Melanie T.

This place is so frickin delicious! Its a little on the pricer end but the quality of the food is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend going in person rather than ordering takeout because it comes out extra hot, steaming, and fresh in person. I got takeout once before and it was good but the price was much more worth it when we dined in. Service was attentive and speedy too! We ordered the chicken momo that came in a tomato based soup, and ate that first. These are such delicious dumplings and the tomato soup really was a nice light soupy consistency that had enough body to stick to the Momos for that nice flavor. We sipped up the soup after we finished the Momos! The garlic naan was super fresh out of the oven and so good that we ordered another batch. So soft, fluffy, and garlicky! The vegetable biryani was rich with flavor and it was hard to stop eating it! The bhindi (okra) was also so rich in flavor and spice and it was a perfect pairing with the naan. Can't wait to come back! Next time I shall try the lunch buffet :)

First and foremost I will say the food is absolutely delicious. But the quality of service and small size portions left more to be desired. We came early on a Friday evening and got seated quickly. We got our orders taken shortly and from there the wait started. We waited almost an hour until our food came out!! We even checked with our server prior to see if our food was coming and kind of got brushed off. I was pretty disappointed at how long we had to wait, and even more disappointed that the staff didn't really seem to care. The restaurant wasn't even super packed at this time so I'm not sure what the hold up was. For our food we got the butter chicken, chicken biryani, matar paneer, and garlic naan. All of the food was delicious and flavors on point. The chicken biryani might have been my favorite - it's probably the best chicken biryani I've had in Chicago. However, I was a little disappointed at the small portion sizes, considering the price of each dish. Really wish I could have enjoyed this place more, since the food really is delicious. Would love to see some improvements in service and more fair portion sizes.

Cumin is a great spot in Wicker Park to get Indian/Nepalese food. All the food came out really fresh. The highlights were the garlic naan, chicken Tikka masala, and bhindi masala (okra). No reservation was needed on a weeknight dinner. The food was delicious but the price point seemed a bit high for the amount of food.

Below average taste and kabobs were uncooked and had 0 flavor Very commercial place, rice was not complimentary with the main curries I would not recommend to eat here. Lamb curry was good. Chicken tikka- negative Dal tadka- edible Bhindi masala- had less bhindi and more green pepper lol Please see pics attached Expensive and not worth the money

This meal was so ridiculously overpriced but so ridiculously delicious. I followed the hype and I followed it hard. Well worth the shot but I'm still shook as to how much was paid vs quantity of what was ordered. Stuck with the classics: veggie samosas, chili fry momo, lamb biriyani, butter chicken. For 2 entrees and 2 apps it was well close to 100.00. While I appreciate my booshie yelp friends and their suggestions; the pockets weren't ready yall. I had to follow the hype, I had to see what it was all about! I told myself not to do it. I had to. Fml. Delicious flavors, various spices and just all around good quality food and meat. I was disappointed that the samosas only come in 2 instead of 4 or high hopes of 5 or 6. Still, it was a pretty large one and it took me a while to finish it so one did suffice. One order of garlic naan included 2 slices of naan. I felt robbed. Still, one slice was more than enough I just couldn't wrap my head around how much we got vs what was paid. I don't know, I just don't know. Maybe it's the fact that the location is in the heart of wicker park/bucktown that it's so overpriced and can get away with robbing yuppies but I'm just not one of them. Still good just so so so so pricey.

Perhaps my new favorite Indian/South Asian restaurant in the city Food: Lamb saag - 5/5 - excellent spinach dish, rich and creamy Lamb vindaloo - 5/5 - extremely spicy but delicious Chicken vindaloo - 5/5 - extremely spicy but delicious Chicken tikka masala - 5/5 - flavorful spices, rich, creamy perfection Chicken mukhani (butter chicken) - 4/5 - great but not exceptional Chicken biryani - 5/5 - spectacular flavor Lamb biryani - 5/5 - spectacular flavor and with impressively tender chunks of lamb Mango lassi - 4/5 - very good; not exceptional Garlic naan - 5/5 - perfection Ambience: Moderately sized; Nepali-influenced (features prominent image of Buddha) Service: Fantastic - friendly, attentive, efficient

Food: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Food: This is easily the best Indian food I've had in Chicago to date. I ordered the Vegetable Vindaalu and the flavor profile was out of site! I could appreciate the cumin, turmeric and peppers with every bite. I also ordered the Dal Tadka and it was out of sight. Furthermore, almost all of the vegetarian dishes could be made Vegan, which is a super plug for me! Atmosphere: We came during the pandemic so the interactions were limited. However, I could still appreciate how beautiful the establishment is and how great the service was! I'll definitely be back :)

I got the Shrimp Curry with Rice and some Garlic Naan. This is the best Indian food I've had in Chicago so far. The curry was very flavorful and quite spicy.

We really used to like Cumin and always would get the lunch buffet before covid and got their lunch carryout specials that replaced the buffet during covid. We went with a group of friends as we were craving some Indian/ Nepalese food. It was a Saturday night and the place was not crowded but they were doing a decent amount of carry out business. Everyone ordered as a couple and we got the lamb biryani and butter chicken and some naan. We finished all of it. The wife got a desert and we stopped at Jenny's for some ice cream since we were still hungry after. Not sure what happened to there portions but the price you pay is not worth it anymore for the amount and quality of food. Try tandoor char house. Similar prices but always leave with leftovers.

But they are distinct that I like some of their food and I didn't know any buffets and I kept seeing this restaurant whenever I go to work in downtown Chicago. When I take the blue line and I kept seeing this restaurant when I would eat at Thai lagoon across the street. Well this was my payday and I decided to give this place a bucket list try. It is also still lent so I'm still following the Catholic not eating red meat or poultry. The waitress in regards to service since they just opened up I learned by coincidence since they were renovating mentioned that they did have seafood entrees and of course I didn't want shrimp I ate more on the fish side and they had salmon. But to start off I had the crispy onion pakora which was delicious for an appetizer It's basically almost like a deep fried onion ring with a fresh spinach colored emerald green dip that compliments and it was not too greasy. Then came My main dish of the salmon tikka masala and garlic naan. I would have ordered this in beef or lamb for tikka masala but since it's lent for me I have to eat fish It was okay but it would have been better if this was lamb if I could imagine chewing and savoring The pasty almost tomato like sauce with its spices and tanginess but it also tasted good to it salmon but lamb would have been better. The naan was ok I think a bit too garlicky but I would probably order the butter one next time cuz this was a garlic naan. They're mango lassi was very fresh however one of the reasons for the four stars although they gave me one on the house because they had a very limited dessert menu with ice cream and that's not really traditional Indian. But going back with the lasee the portion was just too small for $5. I would come back again other than that they gave the second last seat on the house and I didn't get charged but I would suggest they add a bigger mango lassee I had mentioned to the waitress or server. Ambiance was a little modern like I said they just opened after 3 weeks of being closed otherwise I came by coincidence that they just opened since the renovation.
