Normally, I wouldn't combine the words "feng shui" and "Cumberland Farms" in the same sentence, but, of all the newer-generation Cumberland Farms stores I've visited, this one has probably the best layout I've seen so far. It's a very visually appealing design - not your typical square or rectangular box - but despite the angles and jogs of the interior floor plan, it all flows in a logical manner. It has a huge parking lot, although I had to make my own parking space since all the regular spaces were taken. It's no surprise this Cumby's is popular - it's clean and inviting, with a seating area inside, where a few construction workers were hanging out this morning, discussing pay and benefits (they sounded like union guys). I don't know what's up with the Star Trek photos associated with this business, but one thing that immediately impressed me were the automatic, sliding doors (a la Star Trek). Every other Cumby's I've visited has doors you have to manually push or pull open. The men's bathroom was clean, although I did notice an oddity: some joker put a label over the motion sensor for the urinal's automatic flush valve, so that it would not flush after using the urinal. As I walked around the coolers, trying to decide on what to drink, I spotted a crumpled paper on the floor. A couple seconds later, a young male employee greeted me, and then, as if he'd read my mind, he stooped down to pick up the paper on the floor - very impressive! While getting a coffee, I overheard other employees who were in the prepared foods area engaging in ... wait for it ... teamwork! Holy crap, what a concept - at a Cumby's, no less! I might've given this Cumby's five stars, but the cashier made a major faux pas. My purchase came to $7.77, and I gave her two $5 bills. She was so fixated on the triple sevens ("Too bad this wasn't a slot machine," I said, just to humor her), that she was unable to produce the correct change. It think she just put my two bills in the cash drawer, and then shut the drawer. Evidently, she forgot the common practice of putting the bill or bills that a customer gives you, on top of the drawer, while you count the change (and she was an older woman, who should know better). She even pulled out a calculator at one point, and then actually asked me how much money I gave her. Yikes! Also, she was very slow ringing out customers before me. I'm thinking she's probably not suited for a job as a cashier. But, she'd probably be a good greeter at a nail salon, as she was personable, and had nails (a French manicure with fuschia tips) that were way too fancy for a cashier.

Do not buy food from this place and if you do, check the dates. I've made that mistake too many times. Hershey squirt city, here I come!

I stopped in here to pick up an order for my husband. The order was ready as expected and I requested for them to gring them for French Press. They did it quickly and off I went. It's a great-looking spot in RI with a small patio and some limited parking in the back, but the atmosphere felt pretty unwelcoming. To be honest, as a person of color, I felt like we were treated differently than other customers. While the person taking our order was fine, the rest of the staff and even the patrons were snappy and rude, which really killed the vibe. It's a shame because the coffee itself is actually incredible. You can tell they really know what they're doing--the options are expansive and every cup is clearly well-crafted. If you're just in it for a high-quality brew and don't mind a side of cold energy, it might be worth it, but the lack of basic hospitality makes it hard to fully enjoy. A total "vibey" spot on the outside, but definitely lacked the warmth you'd expect from a local coffee shop.

And boy did it go well. Let me back track a little bit. This place serves Tea AND they do tattoos. What in the actual HELL, genius! I love love love this idea, and no this place is not sketchy at all, it's is so hip and I freaking love it so much. It's street parking but no worries it's worth it. When you walk in you're immediately greeted with smiles and you walk into great hip hop music, big tv's, arcade games and just a great atmosphere. I noticed they had a lot of regular customers, and they treated all the customers with the upmost respect I love this. Now to the Tea, they have everything all the names are pretty hip and the flavors are bomb! All types of flavors, to cater to all taste buds! I don't know much about the tattoo portion but I know the guy who does the tattoos does them in a very clean room, in the back area. And well I wanted to get a tattoo and he's booked all the way until May right now and it's only November, and his work is amazing. He's done my sister and mom's tattoos I'll be next! Everything about this place I love. My sister did her clothing pop up shop here and the vibes were amazing. Everyone is so supportive and the atmosphere and look of this place for sure made the event successful. I fully support this place and I'll be a regular customer and make sure I bring others. 5 Stars for a great strawberry matcha latte and phenomenal cappuccino…read more This coffee and matcha shop has so much more to it than a typical coffee shop. It has a ton of Japanese treats in the fridge as well as shelves. They also have a bar and sell wine and fun cocktails. They brew Bolt coffee (a local brewer and coffee shop) and make a truly exceptional cappuccino. Like, really really good third wave style espresso drinks that I've not found at other shops in Providence so far (two week visit). I was initially worried their iced strawberry matcha latte might be too sweet, but that was fortunately not at all the case! It was balanced and mild. Just be sure to stir it up! They also have some pastries and baked goods from Seven Stars Bakery, and we thoroughly enjoyed a small lemon cake. We'll likely be back in our last few days in town because we became quick fans!

I like the branding, brightness of the cafe, and the fact that there's a decent amount of seating. I got the Iced French Vanilla Espresso Latte + Espresso Teddy which was well-made, bold, and enjoyable. I think the Espresso Teddy is actually made with cold brew and not espresso which I expected given the name and would have preferred. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the slow melt and the boost of caffeine I got as I kept sipping. And it's super cute! The Iced Mont Blanc was also a good try; the sweet orange flavor was subtle and surprisingly enjoyable adding a bright taste to each sip. If I'm ever back in Providence, I would totally come back and maybe try their matcha drinks.

I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit tricky due to the busy nearby intersection, but it wasn't too hard to navigate. A small inconvenience considering everything this place has to offer. Bottom line: this bakery is a delightful, nerdy, sugar-filled gem. A perfect place to treat yourself!
