The chain was founded in 1927 as an ice house storefront in Dallas. It was named Tote'm Stores between 1928 and 1946. After 70% of the company was acquired by an affiliate Ito-Yokado in 1991, it was reorganized as a wholly owned subsidiary of Seven & I Holdings. 7-Eleven operates, franchises, and licenses 78,029 stores in 19 countries and territories as of the start of 2022. In foreign countries like Japan and Thailand, coming into a 7-Eleven is a feat ! Great food choices, fresh offering, clean stores.....unfortunately, many of the US stores are mediocre at best. This particular store is the store near City Hall and Kennedy Plaza. Lots of homeless around the entrance and people just hanging.... That does not really help the image of the store. As you come inside, there's well defined sections for frozen meals, drinks, lottery tickets, dry goods, beauty products, etc. It was nice to see their Quick Eats well stocked....sausage biscuits, sandwiches, etc. Overall a nice quick stop for whatever you need.

I typically find that their prices are competitive and they have a lot of good deals on the app usually as well. As far as the inside of the stores go, I can't really complain. It can get busy at times but that's not really the stores fault. The bathrooms have been clean every time I've used them. The food and drinks are pretty reasonably priced too, as convenience stores go. Parking, however, can be a challenge. This is why I am only giving 4 stars, not 5. Because inside the store can get busy, it can be very difficult to park as there are only a few parking spaces that are not at pumps. Getting in and out can be tricky, but if you use the adjacent road with the traffic light instead of trying to get out from the front of the parking lot, it is much, much easier.

It's pretty ragged-looking, both inside and out; the lot to the right of the store looks like the site of something that was demolished. Inside the store are also empty gaps where displays or fixtures were removed. Some of the shelves are sparsely stocked. One thing this store does have an impressive array of are hookahs, lined up on top of display cases for other smoking-related items. Normally, I would rate this caliber of gas station / convenience store at two stars, but I'm rounding them up to three stars (I can't give a 2.5) because the man behind the cash register, who I presume was the owner, was friendly and asked about the company I worked for (I was in a marked company truck), and the Kit Kat candy bar I bought was fresh.
