customers at the counter

This place is known for their "dessert" coffees. Not being a fan of sweet whipped creamy drinks I'd never tried it before. Driving by the Seasons Market today I figured, why not? Inside, it's Voodoo Donuts hot pink, so I'm already loving it. The bags for packaging up any of the decent-looking pastries had a black and white checkerboard trim that make me think of the See's Chocolate shops in LA. Another favorite brand here folks! Clean counter space, several friendly women behind the counter; service was personalized and fast. I had a combination drink that was the favorite of one of the women behind the counter. It was an iced coffee mix of mocha and something almond. My partner got just a basic iced coffee, cream no sugar. Both drinks came on the dark side, with less cream than expected; his was also a bit light on coffee flavor. The basic iced had the disappointing taste of leftover hot coffee put in the fridge to"ice" - stale. Wish he'd seen the cold brew sign before ordering. My mocha/almond was introduced as "not too sweet," but sweet was the first thing I noticed at sip one. The mocha flavor was pleasant, but I barely tasted any almond. All in all, a bit of a meh. Still, since the chain is local I'll try again. In addition to cold brew they offer a nitro cold brew, advertised on a poster not on the menu board yet.

Strawberry frosty Lou

Some of the best coffee comes from Marylou's! This location is nice, very convenient and clean. I often come here for gas or a Redbox and will get a coffee while I'm there. There is a drive thru as well but I usually go inside as I don't always know what to order. The menu and large and different from most coffee shops. I recommend the Twix iced coffee or french vanilla hot coffee. I also love the strawberry frosty Lou! It's loaded with calories and sugar but yum so worth it!! Think of it as a dessert ;) And by the way, loving all the pink!!

Unlike Massachusetts MaryLou's, their staff is less "Hooters" themed and more girl-next-door themed. I don't know why I care to mention this other than the fact that the trashy commercials tend to offend people into not stepping into this place. With that said, I've always loved the ice coffee at MaryLous. If you get your coffee regular at Dunkin Donuts, you probably won't like the coffee here (my boyfriend doesn't). If you like flavored coffee, you'll have a great selection here. What they do really well are breakfast sandwiches. Like DD they use frozen eggs, but the bagels and cheese are a hundred times better. Hot chocolate is also good here and the drive-thru is never packed like at DD around the corner. The girls here have gone above and beyond to create a unique flavor for me several times. One time they made me a mint hot chocolate and it was delish.

Banana Nut Iced Coffee from Marylou's Coffee, RI
Erika A.

Dear Marylous, Your Banana Nut Iced coffee is divine. I know your ex husband Starbucks is really taking over the town, but don't let that stop you. He smells funny and his coffee just comes on too strong. Plus all of that bougie fireplace and barista nonsense is just hot air compared to your coffee concoctions (re: snicker-doodle, butterscotch, and yes the aforementioned Banana Nut). Please come to NYC???? Loyally, Erika

Large iced coffee just the way i like it.

Minty Lou is delicious! Service was impeccable, but it was a little confusing being next to the convenience store.

Best coffee in town in my opinion. I drive by three Dunkin donuts on my way to Mary Lou's in the morning.

. The best thing about Marylou's is they flavor their beans, so the flavor is not overpowered by a standard coffee taste

Very cute little coffee shop bookstore, located in an antiques store…read more Chai latte was very very good! Ice is real big though. $7 they have seasonal flavors of coffee. Ice cream, and sandwiches, which I liked the chicken salad on the sesame bagel. The pastries, also very good! we got the raspberry square and a chocolate chip cookie. Service was prompt, and polite. Parking is off street in a lot. Also right next to a little lake or whatever body of water, which makes it serene, in my opinion.

The bad: I ordered their season latte with maple costing around $7 and was disappointed. I noticed in the bottom a lot of dark liquid which I thought was espresso shots that's hadn't mixed (happens sometimes) but after several minutes of shaking, stirring with a straw and tasting found out it was pure syrup. It wouldn't mix and the drink was crafted poorly. The flavor of the coffee itself was drinkable but I was quite disappointed the latte wasn't even assembled right. My family got some ice cream as well that wasn't great either. The strawberry was lacking in flavor and had more of a mixed berry taste rather than strawberry. I'm a big ice cream fan and coffee fan and these just didn't hit. Maybe I'll return for another try as the prices of the food and drinks were reasonable. Antique Store Location 2.5/5 This location is much better and the drinks here are drinkable just on the sweeter end. My mom and I have gotten drinks here several times and they always come out pretty sweet. I like the cozy environment and it's nice to check out the antique store location while sipping a coffee. If you have to go the gathering grounds go to THIS LOCATION!

What looked unassuming from the outside opened up into a cool, airy Zen space... the kind of place that works perfectly for anything from a casual family breakfast to a cram sesh or even a cute coffee date(hehehe maybe someone's tried it ). I hadn't been back in several months (maybe even close to a year) but I recently returned and was reminded why I loved it in the first place. This time I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich and a leek & Parmesan pastry- both were absolutely fantastic and split between myself and my partner.. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The sandwich alone would've been enough. The vibe here is wonderful!!! Lively with plenty of space to settle in. The staff is warm and accommodating, making you feel right at home. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the service, it's safe to say my experience was nothing short of excellent. Bravo Disclaimers: matcha is unsweetened so get it differently if you're used to (what I now know must be slightly sweetened) Dunks

It's a great-looking spot in RI with a small patio and some limited parking in the back, but the atmosphere felt pretty unwelcoming. To be honest, as a person of color, I felt like we were treated differently than other customers. While the person taking our order was fine, the rest of the staff and even the patrons were snappy and rude, which really killed the vibe. It's a shame because the coffee itself is actually incredible. You can tell they really know what they're doing--the options are expansive and every cup is clearly well-crafted. If you're just in it for a high-quality brew and don't mind a side of cold energy, it might be worth it, but the lack of basic hospitality makes it hard to fully enjoy. A total "vibey" spot on the outside, but definitely lacked the warmth you'd expect from a local coffee shop.

Super flaky and a lot of delicious flavor from the filling and garnishes. It was very busy when I stopped by midday. They were out of some items already (I missed out on trying the French onion croissant before they replaced it with another menu item). I did find a spot to sit outside but I can see it being even harder to find a seat during peak times. It's a bit off the beaten path yet it's known and popular for a reason. I was sold as soon as I read their menu and saw that they had a Halva latte. This is one of my favorites and I can only get it at cafes near Boston. If you haven't had it, it's a must try. Halva is a sweet confection that is sesame based. Brown Bee definitely delivered on this one. I hope it stays on the menu! My wife had a pistachio latte that is made with homemade pistachio syrup. It was 10/10. We didn't plan on eating, but we did end up getting one of their cinnamon rolls with a homemade cream cheese frosting. It was fantastic! They have plenty of seating and although we waited inline, there were several seats available and we got to enjoy our drinks and cinnamon roll. This place is worth the wait in line. We will be going back again this weekend. I want to try the everything croissant with cream cheese baked inside! We may also try one of their breakfast sandwiches. My only recommendation is that they add little chalk boards for each of the croissants with what they are as they had to keep telling everyone what each one was. Still a 10/10.

I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit tricky due to the busy nearby intersection, but it wasn't too hard to navigate. A small inconvenience considering everything this place has to offer. Bottom line: this bakery is a delightful, nerdy, sugar-filled gem. A perfect place to treat yourself!
