I wanted to really like Coastal Roasters, but it was a huge miss for us. We drove 40 minutes to come here today based on reviews, Parking wasn't easy but we managed to find a spot on the street after l driving by a few times. The scenery is gorgeous, right by the water. We ordered a hazelnut latte and a tiramisu latte after seeing their instagram post advertising its new drop. We got our drinks and the tiramisu latte was missing the mascarpone topping, so my husband went in to ask about it. He was told by an employee it's an extra $2 charge for the topping! The employee was nice and stated since we weren't aware they wouldn't charge us for it but i'm so confused. You advertise that the drink comes with it, so why is there an additional charge for it? My husband's hazelnut latte was also watered down and you couldn't taste the hazelnut unfortunately. The employees were incredibly nice and the views are gorgeous but the coffee just wasn't that great sadly. read more

Ive been to 55 coffee shops in the last 15 days via the RI Food Fights Iced Coffee Passport Challenge. The employees here have got to be the nicest people Ive encountered at all 55 shops. I got a Large Pistachio Iced Coffee, a Knead Chocolate Chip Donut and a Spinach and Artichoke Pie from Babe Pie Co. This place is small and dog friendly. Lots of seating outside. Coastal Roasters is a great stop down by the shore. They have so many varieties and options for both hot and cold drinks. A small bakery stand is by the cashier; when its gone, its gone. They also have several specials either seasonally or monthly, it is sometimes hard to tell though if the one you want is upcoming or on its way out. It's a tight squeeze to walk in and order but they have solved that issue by delivering orders outside to a picnic table (good luck if its rainy or really REALLY hot because you'll just have to be there). The coffee is great, the specials ARE special/unique, and the area is a cute little stop on a busy road, right by the water. I recommend Coastal Roasters for a great beach day pick-me-up. read more

Took the bike out to grab some coffee and stopped by Coastal Roasters to try them out. Small place with alot of offerings. Nice outdoor seating right on the Sakonnet River with a nice view. We tries the Uncranky Yankee and the Mojo Coco. Both were pretty good (a bit too much dairy for our liking) but we will order differently next time now that we know. The staff was very friendly. Overall, unique atmosphere with not great coffee. I went here with high expectations and wanted to try their Iced Maple Latte. My parents got the Salted Carmel Latte hot. Both of our drinks ended in disappointment. I couldn't taste the maple come through and the drink wasn't sweet which is fine but since it was a maple latte I expected at least a subtle hint. I couldn't taste the maple notes come through or anything other than the espresso and milk. Normally I wouldn't mind but I honestly didn't care for the espresso much either. My drink was pretty milky and not very coffee tasting. Pretty solid prices for their coffee however and that was probably the one plus of going. Parking and the way the line works is another issue and it's confusing but you just have to go with the flow. read more

This is a tough place to review! The interior is quite dark and the space is small (claustrophobic even when it's busy). The order counter is just to the right as you enter but the coffee shop line forms to the left so entry/ navigation can be tricky. There is a gift item shelf to the immediate left of the door by the window, making space tighter if anyone is considering a mug, stickers, etc. The clothing racks are on the left side and wrap around the counter, partly obscuring the view of the coffee roaster and adding to the squeezed in feeling. The single stall bathroom is behind all that, so if there's a restroom line there can be limited inside waiting to order space and in those cases, the line forms outside. It's so tight that many orders are placed with customers told to pick up at one of the outside tables. This means that when it's busy, service is going to take awhile, especially as the majority of folks seem to be ordering blended drinks of some sort like smoothies or blended coffees. Now, all that sounds unpleasant, so it's an excellent thing that the iced coffee is so freaking good! I'm an ice, cream, coffee in my cup drinker so can only comment on that basic - but to me a simple iced (or hot, in season) is the test of quality for a coffee shop. The coffee, the spectacular location right on the water, the large patio with a decent amount of comfortable seating? This place is SO good. My fave drink is always the Extreme Toffee Coffee with a shot of espresso - it's a blended sweet treat and super delish. Gorgeous views in the summer too when the weather is nice and you can take a walk around the water! Highly recommend taking a trip here! read more

Great coffee shop in Tiverton, Rhode Island with amazingly friendly staff and some killer drinks! I went for the peanut butter honey latte with oat milk and the drink was dynamite. My wife opted for the iced salted caramel latte with oat mile and immediately proclaimed, "This is one of the best that I have ever had!" The staff was friendly and inviting and chatted it up with customers as they placed orders and waited for their drinks to be made. Efficient turnaround to get coffees out to customers; great service! The shop has some local artist items and other things like handmade postcards and the like available for sale. Definitely would be a spot you could hit up as your daily coffee shop but if ever just passing by be sure to also stop in! You won't be disappointed! read more

One of the two best coffee shops in Tiverton/Little Compton. Coastal Roasters has good coffee and some of the best pricing I've seen. The location is also quite good, and the service tends to be good as well. Their lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas have pricing you'd see a decade ago, which is very refreshing. The only other shop that comes close is Grey's in Adamsville, but it's a bit of a hike and pricier (though I think it's tastier). I'd definitely suggest stopping at CR over Groundswell though - you'll spend half as much to get more. read more

The best coffee ever! Coastal Roasters is an adorable coffeehouse in Tiverton RI. It sits right along the coast (as the name suggests) and has gorgeous views of the waters, with outdoor seating options to enjoy the view. The inside is tiny, with just enough space for a line to form to take orders. It's the kind of space where the staff knows the names of all the regulars, and their orders. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They even gave our dog a pup cup! I ordered the uncranky yankee latte, iced. This drink is made with coffee syrup blended with coastal gold espresso and served over ice with milk. It's so creamy and delicious!! The coffee had a nice bite without being acidic. My perfect iced beverage. We came 3 times on our trip, and got a few bags of coffee grounds to bring home with us. We love it here! read more

So I have driven by Coastal Roasters for years, and I have always said that I need to give them a try. A recent Yelp event turned me on to local roasters, which made me want to try this place all the more. I was planning on stopping by to try them out when I ran low on my current bag of beans. Enter Covid19... So now I can't buy my coffee online, and I don't want to go inside any businesses (although I do want to desperately support local businesses during this time). I thought I would look to see if Coastal Roasters was doing any type of curbside pickup. Even better, they just started delivering locally! So a few minutes later I had my first bags of Coastal Roasters coffee! Of course I had to grind some up and brew it right away. All that I can say is that the Fogland Fogcutter is now my favorite brew! I can't wait to try the Costa Rican beans, but I am above impressed with the quality and the service of this business! Ah, I wish this review could be bumped a bit because the coffee drinks are outstanding and the outdoor seating is just gorge. The customer service is so lacking. I made a stop here recently on a day off and actually detoured just to go back because I loved my first visit here so much. The frozen drinks and the array of Honey Mama's chocolate set against the backdrop of Grinnell's beach makes you feel like you're on a mini vacation as you sip your way to diabetes in my case. My friend from Texas took back their coffee beans after we stopped here during her visit and they were very well-received. I had wanted to try a special called Pixie Dust which is pretty simple...espresso blended with ice and white chocolate topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. They were early on the pumpkin flavorings being offered. I asked if I could have their sugar-free pumpkin swirled into my drink. As I walked out, I noticed one of the people working behind the counter asking, "Do I leave out the pumpkin and add the white chocolate?" One of her co-workers shook her head and stage whispered, "No." I wish they had asked me or just let me know if it was too much of a bother to blend white chocolate and pumpkin because it was just weird. They brought it out to me with this gross lacy milk foam. No whipped cream, no sprinkles. The whipped cream and sprinkles are why I got the drink. I asked about the sprinkles and the girl said, "We ran out." Not curtly but not in a way that remotely acknowledged that I didn't get what I ordered. I think this was reasonable to offer an apology. I found them so weird and unpleasant to deal with that I didn't really care to interact further. I walked out at Grinnell Beach afterward which was a balm for the soul. I'm glad Coastal Roasters isn't closer. If it were, it might have felt like more of a loss in my local rotation. I'm grabbing Starbucks if I need coffee before heading to Grinnell Beach next time though. This place serves up a lot of attitude for coffee drinks that are frankly worse at their worst than Starbucks or Mary Lou's. read more

Stopped by this Sunday while visiting Grinnell's Beach just down the road. Right away you see that the shop has a whimsical charm, complete with a small outdoor patio with gorgeous water views. The cafe is currently COVID compliant, allowing only once customer inside at a time, while others wait in line outside the store. The patio is open! They just ask that you sign your name for contact tracing if you snag a seat. They have a more than sizable menu offering a large variety of hot and cold coffee and espresso drinks, as well as smoothies. I opted for the cold brew - reasonably priced ~$3 for a small (16oz), light roast, and perfect for a warm summer day. Everyone who worked there was SO nice and accommodating, especially when we asked a couple questions because it was our first time visiting. Only waited a few min for our drinks. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a nice drink, fantastic view, and great service if you find yourself in the east bay! read more

I was visiting the area and stopped here. At first look it seems like just a shack. My party had a lot of dietary restrictions and they were extremely accommodating.
