We love Culver's and this location is no exception! Food was fresh and the workers were friendly! Would recommend this location!

There are as many Culver's in Texas as bluebonnets, but this is the whole show in greater Denver. The reason to go here is for the frozen custard with cashews or banana's foster sundae. You'll find the menu items proudly "butter cooked" resulting in the greasiest patty melt the world has eve known. A solid 9 n the Crisco scale. But Culver's is notoriously clean and fresh and the wrinkle cut fries are bout the best you can find. read more

I rarely eat at fast food restaurants. There is a reason- the food is usually pretty crappy. We went through the drive through and ordered a blackened chicken basket with the sides. We got a blackened chicken sandwich with no sides. I suppose we should have checked, but I really, how many drive through people get simple orders wrong? Raise you hand if you had never heard of Culvers before eating here! *My hand shoots straight up knocking my coffee over.* The bf is from Iowa where apparently Culvers is the "it" thing. I, being a Denver native, had never heard of it. Also, being a Denver native, had never had a cheese curd before. When I told this to the guy I was thrown in the car and off we went to Culvers. Culvers is somewhere in between a Wendy's and a sit down burger joint. You go up to the counter and order and then take your number sign thingy to your table and await your food. This particular Culvers (not sure if there are more in CO or not...) is a nice size and filled to the brim with families. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich which was really tasty. I ended up chucking the bread and just eating the tenderloin. The bf got the butter burger aka artery clogger. This was ok. The cheese curds? Apparently they are better in the Midwest. Either that, or I just don't like cheese curds...Apparently everyone else in the restaurant was enjoying them because I saw them on nearly every table. Culvers is really rich and fattening, so I think that I will save this as a treat and definitely not a regular occurrence. read more

Yum! Takes me back to my discovery of them in Omaha. Their burgers are all made to order, you get exactly what you order! The burgers have this great crust on them and the buns are grilled (with butter of course) for another added crunch. Fries are good, the onion rings are fresh and crunchy too - I'd go with the rings. Now onto the custard -- sweet mother of god, it's delicious. I'm a big fan of the turtle sundae, but you won't be disappointed with any choice. I waited for my food in a line with other cars and watched as the two or 3 cars behind me received their food before me. Wondering if there is a new manager!?!! Or maybe no manager on. We came in at 2 pm...staff standing around, place was filthy, dirty tables, floors, bathroom....empty ketchup, napkins, ice. The guy who took our order, we could not understand him and he did not have a clue about something on the menu. Both our sandwiches looked horrible. Bummer because we liked coming here...and have to drive a ways to get to a Culver's. Won't be craving here again. read more

Years ago I went to a burger place in Wisconsin that was "fast food" but one of the tastiest burgers I'd ever had. I couldn't remember what that place was called until someone said "Culvers?" and told me there were some in Colorado. SCORE! I now live just north of this Culvers so I go here on occasion for their mouth watering butter burgers, great crinkle cut fries, and of course, their creamy root beer that beats even A&W. Their service is always friendly-you'll sometimes have to wait a little bit longer for your food in the drive thru, but trust me, it's worth it. You can rely on Culvers for hot, tasty as hell, above-average but priced similarly food and good service. It's even worth going a little out of the way to check it out! read more

Culver's is a favorite of my husband's from when he lived up north. Go for the butter burgers, fried cheese curds and frozen custard. Oh, and take your heartburn meds too. The burgers are pretty good. The buns are fresh and they butter them and heat them on the grill. The cheese curds are deep fried yellow cheese. An unusual treat that I tried the first time and enjoyed but don't get every time. The custard is super yummy. It is creamier than regular ice cream. They have a daily flavor where they mix in flavors to their vanilla that is generally pretty good. If the daily flavor doesn't blow your skirt up, you can make your own combo in their 'concrete'. read more

I'm so excited to find a place with such delicious burgers. I ate my first burger a few months ago and I couldn't believe how tasty and fresh it was. I also had a chocolate malt and I seriously downed it in 5 minutes. I ate my second burger, a double!, last night and my heard was pounding just while waiting for it! I got it to go and as soon as I got in my car I had to take a big 'ol bite! I just couldn't wait to get home. Much to my satisfaction it was just as good as the first time. I got crinkle cut fries this time and I didn't even need or want ketchup!!!! OMG, Culvers turtle sundae is to die for. Seriously, it is that good. We have been going to Culvers for over 10 years when we lived in the Chicago area. They have the best frozen custard. MMMM Culvers.... I was on call all weekend, didn't have time to chase the kids around and I felt bad for it.. I had a hankering for a GOOD burger, not some in-n-out want to be like smash...So during a lull in the action we rolled to Culvers for lunch. A Midwestern burger joint that also has pot roast, fried chicken and a fish dinner plate. If you've never been and you enjoy a great burger, this place is a must try. The bread is toasted with butter, the patties may be fried in butter also but i don't want to admit it. It makes for one hell of a sammich. Burgers of decent quality beef *Cooked In Butter* Let me say that again. *Cooked in Butter* Much like Bacon, butter, in my book, makes everything better. I'm not much for fast food generally, so when I do it, I opt for the "Fast Casual" concept. Which Culver's fits nicely into. The burgers are thin, to be sure, so I like a Double. I always get Cheese Curds, and manage to mooch a bite of two from others' sides... as long as I share my curds, of course. I've tried their Cheddar Burgers, Patty Melts, and special burgers, too. (Check out the photo! French Onion Melt Burger...Holy WOW!) I really like their standard bun. Soft and yeasty, not soggy with the burgers' juices. And Fresh. Also: Lettuce is crisp, the onions are red. And Fresh. What a concept. I never have room for dessert, but again, I'll happily grab a spoonful of someone else's custard, and I've been known to make a run through the Drive Thru just to grab a small custard. Summation: I'm really glad Culver's is a good 30 minute drive from my place... At least for the sake of my wardrobe. read more

What a delight! I discovered Culvers by serendipitous coincidence in Iowa, and to my pleasure there is one in Thornton which is only eleven miles from my house and entirely out of the way for any reasonable human who isn't blindly cruising the periphery of Denver metro looking for the cheapest Chinese "scoop" restaurant. That said, I eat here two or three times a week. Yeah. It is that good. This place is several magnitudes better than 'In-N-Out'. The burgers are brilliant. The patties are fresh tasting and butter fried. The buns toasted. The chocolate malt is creamier than it has a right to be. Culvers is the secret king of quickie burgers. read more

When I moved back to Denver from Great Lakes, one of the major foods that I craved was Culvers. It encompasses the midwestern food-craft that is often lost in the Rocky Mountain desire of natural, healthier food options. A burger from Culvers is buttery, glorious and hand-made. You bite into it and all you can taste is a home-cooked burger from your Grandma who just flew in from an Wisconsin farm to give you a meal. The cheese curds are succulent, the rootbeer is creamy, and the custard is delicious. Unfortunately, this is the only Culvers in the Denver Metro area, so you may have to drive a while to get your Wisconsin fix. I would give Culvers a big-5 star review, but it is a chain, even if it doesn't feel like it. read more

Going to warn you right away that this review is going to be a bit biased being originally from WI but this burger is quite tasty. I don't know what it is but Culver's just gets the burger patty right. The toppings also seem to be a better quality than your typical fast food burger. It's certainly on the top of my list for fast food burgers. Had a side salad with the meal which was ok. Overall though, the butterburgers are where it's at. Service? Decided to stop by for dinner last weekend before going to a haunted house. It had actually been my first time in the restaurant. I was in awe with how many people I saw eating in the dining room! Thinking to myself, it must be good! Our group walked in and was immediately looking over the huge menu that was clear and easy to read. I opted for the new limited time pub burger and sweet potato fries. I had always heard about their butter burger, but decided to try something different. I was glad I did, the meal itself was really great for "fast" food. It is made to order, but I would generally categorize it as fast food. There are plenty of sides to choose from when making a combo, like my girlfriend ordered mashed potatoes with her fish sandwich. I always love the option for a variety of choices when having a combo meal like this with a drink, so that is always a plus for me. Now that I have had this, I will definitely be going back to try their butter burger. I wanted to try dessert and a shake as well...just gives me more reasons to come back! I am from the Mid-West where Culvers is HUGE and just simply amazing, so when I move here to Denver and found that there was one here, I HAD to go. The only way I could describe this place is BK had a child with the All American Burger that you'd get at any other restaurant. Their burgers are honestly orgasmic and their cheese balls, fries, and chicken strips are also OH-SO GOOD... I am not going to lie to you, just writing this review I am getting hungry. Their food is fast food quality very average on the burgers and fries, but the cheese curds are to die for made with white and yellow Wisconsin cheddar. It is no surprise that culvers delivers on the dairy since the restaurant is based in Wisconsin. I've been to Culvers once before but in Colorado Springs. My wife and I were somewhat disappointed. My wife's Cod Fish sandwich was not very flavorful. The breading tasted like the shortening or oil in the deep fryer. The sandwich was also very dry. It was not a good sandwich. My wife had eaten a fish plate at this store before and it was very good. She was hoping the sandwich would be as good but it certainly wasn't. I had a cheddar double butterburger with bacon. The burger patties were cooked to the point that they were crispy. At the same time, the bun was soggy. Flavorwise, it was okay but otherwise it was disappointing. I ordered onion rings with my burger but I got fries but didn't realize it until after we had left the drive-thru. As for the fries, I suspect that Culvers makes their own and double fries them. I suspect that, because they were busy, they might have just fried them once for a longer time. Unfortunately, this just doesn't work. What you get is a fry that is pretty much hard all the way through. I really enjoyed Culvers when I first went to one but I don't think I'll be going back to this one. read more

Definitely a good restaurant. I was a little skeptical once I saw "buttery burger" because of jack-in-the-box. It's greatly priced, the restaurant was packed, and the portions size was dead on the spot. I had a double cheeseburger with bacon. The fries are crinkle cut, not many places can pull it off but these were great. There wasn't a lot of chili on my fries but more cheese than anything. I did enjoy them. The burger was good, it was squished but it was juicy. It definitely reminded me of a cheeseburger you make at home just like the burger you can get at five guys. I wasn't overly full but definitely satisfied, it hit the spot. I will want to come back if I'm in the area and hopefully a place like this can open up in Aurora in the future. read more

I think there are only two in all of the Denver area - apparently they are big in Wisconsin or something - but they are worth a drive. They serve butter burgers. Yes. I just said that. BUTTER burgers. And it's not gross, I promise. It's fantastic. Here's another thing great about Culver's. Everything is made fresh. Yes. They have a drive thru. But guess what? You will be waiting a bit longer at the drive thru for your FRESH meal to come out. It made me realize I was settling whenever I accepted a crappy Wendy's sandwich that had been sitting under a heating lamp for three hours. They are also known for their custard and cheese curds. Damn. Both are good. This place is usually busy but there is a reason. The staff is always amazing and accommodating. The decor is cute and matches the type of food they serve. It's fast food... But not. Almost more of a smash burger type deal. Anyway. I will stop here and tell you to just check it out. Don't miss out on the awesome. read more

When my husband and I eat fast food, 90% of the time we're going to this Culver's. We're from Wisconsin so we love Culver's! This Culver's specifically has always been a great experience too! We always interact with friendly staff, the food is always fresh, and we always find a clean table to sit at. We both love the butter burgers and chicken fingers. My new favorite thing to get is the crispy chicken sandwich, so good! I would suggest sticking to fries rather than onion rings or cheese curds though. We always have a hard time leaving without getting custard. Any custard option is always a good choice, but the concrete mixers are our favorites! We'll always be a fan of Culver's for a fast food option. The quality and staff are SO much better than other fast food places. One thing to keep in mind with Culver's is they do make their food fresh as you order so it does take more time than most fast food places, but it's so worth it for fresh delicious food! read more

Since moving to Denver from the Seattle area we've been searching for a well-crafted burger. Our search is over, thanks to Culvers. 3-trips in 10-days and each has been consistently flavorful, well executed, and delivered with outstanding service. My husband and I have tried: the shaved prime rib sandwich (excellent), mushroom Swiss burger (equally outstanding), bacon burger (my husband's favorite), fish sandwich (good) and both standard & sweet potato fries. The fries are crinkle-cut and that wonderful blend of crispy outside, tender inside. Oh - and the fried cheese curds are not to be missed. We've not had them before and they are a fried treat. Our experience with other restaurants have been food lacking in flavor. Hello... salt anyone? Maybe some pepper? It's as if there is a geographical moratorium on spices. Sorry, Denver.... spicy chiles are not the only flavor everyone appreciates. A big thank you to Culvers for restoring our faith in flavorful restaurant food. By far one of the best fast food restaurants in Colorado for sure, depending on what location.in Colorado we need to realize that it's hard to find help just paying what they do. It's too hard to make it on little money so we don't get the greatest help and to me it dictates the quality of the restaurant. These guys do great! read more

Terrible service, average greasy food place that is run by a bunch of children that have inadequate training. Food menu is enormous ... all with a TON of calories (but that is not why you go there). Management is clueless on how to interact with the public; borderline incompetent. Ordering is slow and painstaking as the staff is not trained well. Being from Wisconsin, I'm a huge fan of Culver's! Thankfully, this Culver's is located up in Thornton and is indeed a trek to get to, so indulging in a butter burger or a custard sundae is a real treat. The things that make Culver's stand out from other fast food joints are the following: 1. The butter burger! (A better brand of beef makes a butter burger better! Seriously, you'll never forget that saying after hearing it for years upon years! Not too mention the beef is quite tasty!) 2. The custard! (Um, what else needs to be said about this gift from the gods?) 3. The cheese curds! (Okay, so the curds aren't the best, but when you're hankering for some deep fried goodness, they'll work in a pinch.) 4. The service! I'll stop the car for anything with a name like 'butterburger.' That's how my family and I found ourselves walking into Culvers. I ordered a double butterburger and a cup of 'brownie thunder' custard. The Mrs. had a sourdough melt and vanilla custard. The kid had a corndog and cookie dough custard. My burger was ok -- not as good as the name 'butterburger' would imply and a far cry from 5 Guys, In-n-Out or Goodtimes. The patties were thin and bland, the bun was toasted (yay!) but still didn't have much flavor. My wife's sandwich was pretty good, and the kid's corndog was factory-standard (as expected and desired by the aforementioned kid, so she was happy). The vanilla frozen custard was smooth and basically OK, for boring vanilla. The other flavors were just the vanilla with hard little pellets of stuff mixed in. Meh. read more

I was stressed and gave up after another 10 minutes. Asked for a refund for meal that was missing part of it. Was told that refunds were not given. Excellent especially for drive thru food. I'm suffering a terrible consequence because I just adore their chocolate frozen custard but I have severe dairy sensitivities. I'll be in pain for two days but it was worth every tear. I had the fish fillet dinner with chili fries and mashed potatoes. Even the dinner roll was soft, fresh and deliciousness defined. Stole a bite of the youngest offsprings' dbl bacon chz burger and regretted that my stomach could only eat a little bit. The menu is unlike any other burger joint and prices rival the redhead, the king and Larks. My only complaint is also my saving grace...there's only one in the Denver metro area and it's over 6 miles from my house. Sad but also a good thing. Ok, I finally checked out Culver's.. I had a double butter burger w/cheese and everything on it.. some crinkle fries and a drink. My complaint is that the meat patties were dry and crispy. The produce was nice and fresh.. the bun kinda fell apart after a few bites. The fries were nice and hot.. over all my Culver burger experience was just ok... I won't go out of my way to get a Culver burger anytime soon unless I check out their ice cream custard it's supposed to be pretty good.. That's it... my two cents... read more

I ordered a basic butter burger meal and 2 single corn dogs. I received 1 burger and 1 corn dog. Waited outside in line for 10 minutes before anyone came paid attention. Told them I was missing 1 corn dog and fries. They sent the poor guy outside in blizzarding snow 2 more times to verify my order and tell me I didn't order the fries...which I did. "One butter burger no onions, large fries.." pretty simple. I'm honestly more frustrated that they literally made this kid come outside 4 times to my car in the freezing snow and 2 of them were to tell me that I was wrong. Needless to say I'd rather go to any other location than see them treat their customers and employees poorly. Oh and I was in line for 30 minutes for fast food, so that's fun! read more

Stopped for after-school snacks. Everyone was satisfied with their selection. The custard is creamy and delicious. Our cashier was Carlos; he separated the two fruits to accommodate my fussy grandson and followed up with us at the table to see if we were enjoying our desserts. Very impressed with the customer service here, especially Carlos for his patience with us being first-timers and follow-thru, and with the cleanliness of the restaurant. We used to have 3 Culvers within 10 minutes of our apartment in Wisconsin...now the closest is 45 minutes away when traffic is good. Clearly we did not thoroughly think things through when we signed our lease in Denver! I, personally, am not a fan of their burgers (the butter bun is a bit much, which is uncharacteristic for me to say) but my husband loves them. I go for the chicken tenders or soup of the day + curds/fries. You cannot go wrong with their cheese curds. If you get a kid's meal (two tenders + fries + drink) you get a coupon for a free scoop of one topping custard. I highly recommend going the kid's meal route and finishing off your meal with a scoop of vanilla custard and hot caramel syrup. Yum. read more
