It's hard to say no to a Culver's Shrimp dinner. Those shrimp are nice and crispy and of course you have to pair it up with the shrimp cocktail sauce to go along with it. I ordered the mashed potatoes and gravy instead of fries and buttered up the dinner roll to make it all complete. The "kids" at the counter do a great job of taking your order and bringing out your food and checking to see if you need anything else. There are plenty of places to sit, and the dining room is clean.

This is like the third time I have went to the Culver location on Douglas in lees summit Mo. order a Shrimp dinner only to get home and find out something missing out of my order. Tonight Order ID numberAAADLKQAALHS ticket 70 I ordered a Shrimp basket got home which I live 20 mins away only to find out no French fries no ketchup. I call back to store and the young lady who answered phone stated she's the manager on duty. I was upset I'm not going to say I wasn't because it's the third time. But Kyia told me in kind words go fly a kite. I asked can you take my name so I can get another order maybe this week. This young lady stated no we don't do that. I go to doctor and therapy by this location and I now have made my mind up after this young lady speaking very rude. No more Culver's for me.

Always good food and friendly fast service. Since I'm on a low sodium diet, they make sure to accommodate.

Culver's rocks, but after eating at them across the Midwest (Colorado, Michigan, and other states) this one somehow beats them all!

More than just Frozen Custard!…read more For perspective, it has been said people should be more than a "pretty face.'' I do like their frozen custard as much as I do Ted Drew's in St. Louis! But it might be a disservice to some of the other things available. In the "Covid Lockdown Era", we're open to safe drive throughs and curbside delivery as an alternative to actually cooking meals in our kitchen. So on a whim we decided to check out their non-frozen offerings for dinner. Pulling up at the dive through a friendly voice came out of the speaker. As we had never had anything but frozen custard their we did quick looks at their menu. I settled on a "Rockin Burger" (¼ lb Angus patty served on a butter toasted bun with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and King sauce), my order without the tomatoes and pickles as that's my taste. My wife latched onto the "KC Jazz Burger" (¼ lb Angus patty served on a butter toasted bun with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, sizzling bacon and BBQ sauce). Both were ordered as "meals," adding fries and a medium Pepsi product. On first glance we were both impressed with quantity served. Not following the herd, the burgers were actually bigger than the buns (not a "Where's the Beef" moment). Red onions rather than chopped onions was another case of walking on the wild side. The buns were another high point. Not anemic or overpowering the sandwiches, they had great flavor without some hard crust or mushy afterthought - easily enhancing the sandwiches. The fries were very good for fast food. The BBQ sauce was light and also flavor enhancing (acceptable in Kansas City). The tab for both meals was around $16.00 including tax. Adding to the enjoyment, the packaging allowed for the meals to still be hot when we finished to 3 mile drive home (kind of rare in fast food). For now they only offer drive through and delivery during the lockdowns. Safety first. Looking past the "Pretty Face" of their frozen custard, there is real substance within their menu. That initial "whim" paid off, and I am sure we will be returning.

I've been eager to try Custard's Last Stand for over a year now and, I'm very sad to report, it did…read morenot live up to the high expectations I set for it. It's not god-awful, but our entire experience was just...subpar. To start off, the service is not great. The entire place seems to be staffed by teenagers (not a bad thing!) who have not been trained to run the place well (a bad thing) and who don't know what's on offer (a very bad thing). We asked if we could substitute the cheddar cheese that comes on the burger for American cheese. She didn't know and went to ask her manager, then returned to inform us that they don't have American cheese. What kind of Americana-themed diner doesn't have American cheese?! The food was also just fine. The burger patties look like they came straight out of the freezer in a school cafeteria, but they tasted surprisingly good! Well-seasoned and not rubbery. The buns were fine. The fries were good, beer-battered and flaky but quite undercooked. The soda tasted like nothing - barely even carbonated water. To add to the (non-literal) sour taste left by the food, the ice cream was just so-so. The custard was bland and the ice cream is quite expensive, especially for not being made in-house. Boo! The ambience is cute but it seems like someone just googled "50s Americana" and added the first 15 Amazon listings to their cart to decorate the place. As another reviewer said, I am EXTREMELY disappointed to see what seems like a local institution advertising with hideous AI-generated posters. Is it really that hard to take a picture of a burger or an ice cream cone? I wouldn't recommend this place. Take a trip north to Danny's Burger Shack for a good meal instead!

Up until now, I've always had a good experience at this location. Unfortunately, my visit on 5/6/26 around 8 PM was disappointing. I ordered a quart of the Apple Pie A La Cold Stone, which is supposed to include French vanilla ice cream, apple pie filling, pie crust, cinnamon, and caramel. The young man preparing it barely added any mix-ins at all. There were only a few tiny pieces of apple in the entire container, and when I politely asked if he could add a little more, he only added what looked like one extra piece. The quart container also didn't seem properly filled for the price. I understand the employees were young and likely still learning, and I didn't want to make a scene because there was a line of customers waiting. Still, when customers are paying premium prices, they expect the portions and ingredients to match what's advertised. I'm hoping this was just an off night because I really do enjoy Cold Stone, but consistency and portion quality definitely matter.
