I haven't been in Dairy Queen since I was a kid. Decided to stop here for their dessert one night. There was a few people in line. Prompt service and our order was out in less than 15 minutes. We went in to order a classic ice cream cake for our daughter. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I could say nice enough things about the staff. We ordered 3 dip cones and they were best dip cones ever. Cones were super fresh also. The cake decorator called to ask a few questions on what we wanted to double check. Tonight I witnessed employees giving away food to friends in the drive-through. Not one beverage but multiple food items as beverages. As a business owner, I was bothered by the brazen theft. I called the business and employees hung up on me twice when I asked to speak to a manager. The franchise owner should consider retraining employees so they understand the consequences of their actions. read more

Went here on the recommendation of friends who grew up nomming on $5 chicken finger boxes. Pretty good deal for the quantity of food you get, plus you can upgrade your sundae to a Blizzard for just a dollar. There's a (kinda weird) drive thru for convenience. But let's keep it real. Whenever I step inside DQ I'm immediately transported to my childhood. It's a mixed bag of emotions. Like any kid, I loved a trip to DQ. Dad would devour a Peanut Buster Parfait and I would go to town on a butterscotch dip cone. However, when I was in middle school, I confronted a guy who stole my bike when I found him and my bike at a Dairy Queen -- so there's that emotion too. When did this become a therapy session? Sorry, let me lead with the key fact on this DQ: the owners give back to the community and really care about kids in Lee's Summit. They host high school music groups in their parking lot in the fall. If you haven't been to a "Dairy Queen Social" put together by one of the high schools then you're missing out. But, with this location, there's a weird mix of updated decor and seemingly un-updated atmosphere and appliances. The tile finish is nice, but the door to the outside was built on top of bare concrete, clearly an after thought to keep some of the cold air out. Also, the reach in freezers, full of those delicious DQ treats, create an awkward view from a few booths as they back right up against them. All in all, a good DQ and community oriented to boot. read more

This DQ is old and established. It is open year round. It has indoor seating and the typical DQ soft serve and Brazier fare. Both Hubby and I like DQ soft serve and when we were in search of some desert today after our dismal dinner experience at Cafe Guadalajara, we opted for the comfort of DQ soft serve. Hubby had his usual Strawberry Sundae and I got my typical medium chocolate dipped cone. Both were served quickly and as expected. The drive thru service at this DQ is 5 star. Only thing that prevents this store from getting 5 stars is that the restaurant is old and the indoor seating at the booths is kinda tight. Never been let down at the Drive Thru. read more

My family of six ate here tonight (we spent $38 for 4 kids meals and two combo meals) and the experience was less than stellar. It should be mentioned that when we arrived no one else in the physical restaurant was in line to order. Not only did we have to wait five minutes to even be addressed by a single employee and have our order taken, but we waited over 15 minutes for cold food! We ordered two Chicken Strip Baskets and both came complete with cold fries and dried-out, oil-logged chicken strips that appeared to have been sitting out for some time. Our children's kids meals were also disappointing. The grilled chicken wraps were sloppily thrown together and only had two small strips of chicken each and the applesauce was not chilled. As if all of this wasn't enough, the place had to have been 80+ degrees which made for an extremely unpleasant dining experience. We were not the only customers to voice a concern over the heat either. We will definitely avoid this restaurant for the foreseeable future until the issues with temperature, customer service, and food quality are fixed. read more

This DQ is a landmark and fixture here in Lee's Summit. I am a big fan of their hot fudge sundaes, dilly bars, ice cream cakes and chocolate mint bars. However, I have never had more than a 3 star meal at any DQ this one being no exception. In fact, two days ago I had the toughest grilled chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. I was literally laughing as I ate the thing as I wrestled with it like a Rottweiler with a rope toy. The side salad was brown on the edges and when I returned it I told the kid it has definitely seen better days. He was polite and fixed me a fresh one. Good think it wasn't drive through. The onion rings were alright for fast food. I am and will remain a fan but every time I eat actual food at a DQ I am reminded that they are known for their ice cream. read more

It's an old building but has character. Just make sure you don't have a weak stomach, the place looks grimy. The appearance will make you think its a hole in the wall. We love the food & the blizzards are fabulous. Food is cooked on the spot, so the service is extremely slow. As long as you know that, you won't be disappointed. read more

Horrible. Ordered a large turtle pecan blizzard and a small Georgia mud fudge blizzard. received a medium turtle pecan and a small Georgia mud fudge. Turtle pecan had a total of 5 pecan fragments......the mud fudge had 3 brownie bits....spent $9 for essentially 2 cups of soft serve....go to the DQ in Walmart.....much better read more

This is mine and my coworkers favorite Dairy Queen!!! The Manager Kaylee is always polite and helpful. She comes out regularly to the table to check on how our dining experience is going. My husband, kids, and I love this restaurant, I told my coworker about the excellent peanut butter and fudge sundae's Kaylee personally makes for us and she told me that she already knew because that is her grandkids favorite restaurant and they go 2 times a month as a reward to the kids. The cook, Kyle, makes the best freshest hamburgers we have ever tasted. I've tried other dairy queens before and this one is by far the best in customer service and food. It is truly the restaurant of a family atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant strongly to anyone looking for delicious food and good friendly company! read more

I love Dairy Queen hot fudge sundaes. Monday night, 9-28-15, I had a craving for one and stopped by on my way home. The outside lights were out but there was someone inside. I went to the drive-up window and someone finally came to the window. I asked if they were closed and he said they were closing. I asked if I could get a hot fudge sundae and he said the ice cream was shut down. I thought they were open till 10:00 p.m.. It was 20 minutes till 10:00 p.m. and they wouldn't give me a hot fudge sundae!! read more
