A diner that makes you feel like you jumped into 1950s as soon as you step inside. We went in the off part of the day and had several tables there. The one waitress I saw was on top of things and had waters too use super fast. We did have to wait awhile on straws, but she was actively working the other tables, so no big deal. We ordered and our food was delivered quick! I ordered the double cheeseburger and a side salad, while my girls got single cheeseburgers and fries/onion rings and of course, a chocolate shake. The prices for the burgers and shakes seemed like a good deal, but the fries and onion rings were overpriced in my opinion. The salad was a standard side salad and the burgers were delicious as always. They have some of the best pickles too. The girls loved their food, but the biggest hit was the shakes.

Truely, one of my favorite places to eat because it is affordable and such a vibe! The atmosphere is that of a 50s diner. My favorite thing on the menu is the cherry limeade because they add a scoop of lime sherbert to the top. The service at this location is great too, always super friendly and fast! While we were there there was a guy walking around cleaning up all the tables as soon as people left which shows how clean the place is! He was on top of it!!

Where have all the Winsteads gone? Not sure how many are left in KC but I do know they used to be everywhere. After eating here I can see why. The food is actually pretty good. especially their limeades. But the decor is like eating in a 1950s space diner for depressed people. Like if there was a restaurant in outer space and you were flying around in your spaceship and really didn't care where you ate because you just finished a long haul across the galaxy and you are on your 3rd marriage and your kids live on different planets and you just want the pain to end but you don't know what to do, so you think to yourself "Hey, maybe a hamburger, tots and shake will cheer me up." But it doesn't; because outer space isn't what you thought it would be. You are at this restaurant because in space no one can hear you crying into your vanilla shake. This would be the restaurant where you would do your crying. The service was fine too.

We arrived and the sign said to seat ourselves. We found an available booth. The restaurant was clean. The waitress brought us water and took our order. She brought our cherry limeades and then the food shortly after. Everything came out hot and delicious. We enjoyed our experience! We will be back!

Lacy crispy wonderful patties. This place has been open for 80 years and the decor is frozen in time. My grandpa used to come here 75 years ago and it's so unique being able to have a similar dining experience today. The burgers are awesome - highly recommend throwing on grilled onions. The cherry limeade is a must try it's nostalgic and absolutely delicious. It comes with a little scoop of a lime sorbet that you mix in and it's so so so good.

If you see a Freddy's and Winstead's across the street from each other ALWAYS choose Winstead's, especially if you can sit down for the full 70's diner experience. Usually people don't like "outdated" decor, but I hope they never switch it up. From the bar to the booth, all the way up to the lights this place definitely brings nostalgia for anyone 25+. First the limeade is freshly squeezed, it honestly doesn't get any better than that; BUT IT DOES because it comes with a scoop of lime sherbet. The tater tots are crispy and fried fresh. The burger tastes freshly smashed and cooked as well, but I can't verify like the limeade because it wasn't made in front of me. Just trusting my instincts here(: Everyday they have happy hour from 3-6 which is half off all drinks and shakes and we got here right at 3! An amazing homemade meal for 2 under $20 you really can't beat that nowadays. The service was also impeccable and her name was Joselyn! I love this place and the food I could continue going on, but I think this'll do for now.

If there's one thing about me, it's that I am a Winstead's girlie for life. They have THE greatest milkshakes. If you're an icey, classic-style milkshake fan, Winstead's is the only place that really satisfies. None of that nasty creamy and thick stuff that tastes super fake and basically like pure preservatives-- no. These milkshakes are banging. It's actually insane. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, CHERRY?? BUTTERSOTCH??? are you kidding me. They are all so good. The food is great, greasy as fast food should be, but not overly so. The employees at the Roe location are always great too. Really excellent service from a hard working group of people. This is only one of two remaining locations in the world, and I will always drive out of my way for both of them. If they ever close I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with my life. Where else can you get a shake this good??

My friend and I met for Happy Hour at Whole Harvest Kitchen, and we had a MARVELOUS time!…read moreOur server was Sofhia V, and she was the soul of hospitality. When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

*Wonderful Staff* *Beautiful Space*…read more*Delicious Food* What else could you want?? We visited for lunch and kept it simple - two apps and an entree. What a treat! We didn't sample, but next time I'd like to try a flight of their wellness drinks! The LETTUCE CRUNCH WRAPS (soy-glazed jicama & tofu, lentil, pickled veg, walnut, cilantro, sesame dip) were an absolute favorite. Highly recommended! The texture was very well balanced. Silky smooth butter lettuce and a delicious sauce on the side, although it truly didn't even need it. The AVOCADO TOSTADAS (blue corn tostada, guacamole, quinoa, white bean, radish, pickled red onion, super seed) were yummy, but our least favorite of the three. Instead of a thin layer of mashed avocados, I'd honestly just put a few nice slices of avocado for the bulk of it. Taste was lovely! It is a totally cold dish, fyi. The HARVEST WOK BOWL (split pea-fu, beluga lentil, farro, snap pea, greens, brown rice, daikon, cashew, ginger-scallion sauce) was completely phenomenal. I could do without the split pea-fu, but it probably added some great nutrition! The FLAVOR and texture of this dish was so so good. I can't even right now. (As my teenager would say...) Enjoy!!

Too many bad things to write a full review of all the mis-steps, but suffice it to say we had been…read moreto this restaurant once before and it was very good. This time I went with my husband, he got his meal, and about 10 minutes later they told me they forgot to make mine. It took so long to for the server to return that I asked him to just put it in a to-go box since my husband had finished his meal. He proceeded to ask if we wanted dessert, but I didn't even eat dinner!! To round out the experience, the server threw the check on the table with his back to us and left before we could even comment about the experience. Here are the 3 strikes that solidified why we will never return: 1. They didn't even offer to comp my meal, 2. They blamed it on new kitchen staff - it is NEVER a good look to blame someone else, and 3. When I got my sandwich home and attempted to eat it, it looked like it had been soaked in a vat of olive oil - there was at least 1/4 cup of oil that dripped out of the package, soaked through the paper and the wrap, all of the vegetables were raw, and the garlic dressing was missing. They obviously threw it together just to get something out. The sandwich was completely and ridiculously inedible... and of course because I didn't realize it until we got home, we PAID for it. As I have said in other reviews, I normally only post about really good places, and if I leave a low review, it is to warn people about exceptionally bad experiences. This was so bad it was nearly comical. I highly encourage the ownership and the staff of Nico & Ana's to get some formal training in customer service, food prep, and common decency if you want your business to be successful. It takes a LOT to make me consider a bad review, and after this horrible experience, I didn't think twice because they failed to take ownership of the problems and they didn't even give us an opportunity to share our concerns. It didn't appear as if they cared at all.

I came here with a coworker for lunch. The restaurant was halfway full. But it seems like 2 people…read morewere trying to cover the lunch service. It took awhile to place our order. Then it took awhile for the food to come out too. I did order the lasagna which was ok. It needed more sauce on it. I'm not sure I'll be back.
