Unfortunately, the ice cream wasn't for me. It was overloaded with toppings to the point that I could barely taste the ice cream itself. I love a good balance between the ice cream and the mix-ins, and this just felt like there was way too much going on. The toppings completely overpowered the flavor of the ice cream. We decided to give Johnny Ray's another shot and came back to try the food. Sadly, I wasn't impressed. For the price, I honestly felt like I could have made a better meal at home. Nothing stood out, and it just wasn't worth the money in my opinion. But the whole visit here was about the burger, and while they don't have bacon here, the burger was cooked to perfection. With just a bit of char around the edges for a crunch and a flavorful and juicy middle of the patty would've been enough to get a great review. But Hi-Boy also makes an AMAZING French fry that I couldn't get enough of. This spot is a very long drive from my house, but that's not going to stop me from visiting again and again.
