When I go through the drive thru with my dog they always ask if he wants a Pup Scoop of custard. Which is my dogs favorite and I appreciate Culvers staff offering it. Whether I come at lunch time or dinner my order is always correct. Although Culvers is based in Wisconsin, The locations in Michigan are my favorite because they carry green olives. I've been here several times and it is always good. The staff is friendly and the owners, Joe and his wife, go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is good and a reasonable price. Coming here is a good dining experience. They are able to accommodate different sizes of groups and have a little room that you can reserve for your group. This is the only Culver's I enjoy going to! The staff is extremely friendly, and as always, the food is fresh and made to order. This is the only fast food place I do not get sick of! My food is always great quality. My go to has been the butter burger kids meal recently, with extra crispy fries (yum!). I used to order the pot roast dinner all the time, but it is a little expensive and the kids meals are more my serving size. Overall, great fast food that is a step above the standard of fast food, and an even better Culver's location! read more

The workers have such a wonderful and welcoming attitude! It's something you don't always expect from a fast food joint. It translates to above and beyond service, with food that is served up hot and quick. The burgers are worth the trip, but I haven't found any other sandwiches to be satisfying, namely the fish and fried chicken sandwich. I was at the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition at Oakland University and got hungry. I was just there to see what it was all about and not there to compete. So I didn't know that there was no food or drinks there unless you bring your own. So I jumped in my car and turned on the navigation system. There were a few of the typical fast food places really close by, but I wasn't up for Mickey D's or the like, but I didn't want a sit down meal either, so Culver's, about 5 miles away, seemed like a great choice. As always, it was fine. I had a double butter-burger with cheese and side of cole slaw. I sat there eating my freshly prepared burger, listening to the '50s rock and roll music, thinking about the dichotomy between the Intelligent Unmanned Vehicles and the Little Deuce Coupes on the sound system. Then I went back to the competition and watched as the team from OU remained in first place as their vehicle made it all the way around the course, stayed in between the lines and managed to avoid all the barrels and obstacles. The competition was to go on for a few more hours that Saturday and then on to Sunday and Monday. It was impressive to see these robots designed by students all over the world competing for prizes and fun. Culvers was great too. read more

I love Culvers. This location rocks! The butter burgers are to die for. Just a friendly tip: if you like the butter burgers here, try it on a sourdough bun! Its the custard around and it's like no other. Their fried chicken is sooo delicious! Omg and if you're still hungry, try their Crispy Chicken Sandwich. This is one of those places I think will be better than they are. Case in point: the burger I got today at lunch. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger plain (which, at $5.29 is way overpriced). I don't mind spending that much on a burger, but for that price, it should at least be good. This wasn't. I open the box it came in and grease is everywhere. I'm not joking. Bag soaked, box soaked. Take a bite; grease runs out. I am holding the thing and grease is dripping out. I don't know about you, but I don't carry a spare bib in my car so I don't ruin my work clothes, but YMMV. I ended up taking 2 bites and throwing it out as in addition to gushing grease, it was lukewarm in spots. So yeahhh, room temp + copious amounts of grease = in the trash for me. Everything here (except possibly the custard) is salty as hell so keep that in mind. With that said, the soups aren't bad and the side salad is pretty decent. I've had the custard before and it's alright, if slightly chemical tasting which is to be expected. Staff is friendly and efficient and they do get people in and out of the drive-thru in record time which is a consideration if you're on a limited lunch time. In short, I have to find better options in this area for those days I crave a burger. Never again with the grease burger. read more

That burger from this location is my favorite in all of metro Detroit. Joe the owner is a classic good guy who treats his people right - at least that's what the service would showcase. Pros: -that burger -gluten free available -cheese options (I don't love American cheese so having other options makes me smile) -root beer from the fountain is something special -that burger -toasted classic butter burger bun - gosh...I'm sweating over here just thinking about it. -open til 11 which is nice -vanilla custard to me is off the charts as well -when they have them I really enjoy the sweet potato fries -cheese curds -service....in the QSR world this place in my mind is second only to Chick-fil-a Cons: -price may be a hint higher than McDonald's or BK but you're getting value with your dollar. Unquestioned. -French fries are crinkle cut which I love. But sometimes I ask myself instead of getting fries should I get another burger....I don't love the fries but it could be because that burger is so darn good. read more

He very frequently does fundraisers for the schools and special olympics. In addition, he once opened early so I could bring my class there as part of a field trip. Super friendly staff even though it's mainly younger kids who prolly come and go non the less nice and delivering great service! Culver's has to be planned a bit sometimes. You are gonna wait for your food, personally I love it I know my foods going to be fresh and not just the patty that has been sitting in a tray for 2 hrs. I don't think many people know they have gluten free bun which doesn't taste all that bad I think it was $1 more if I remember right. Absolutely love Culvers. This is my favorite and go-to Culvers location. Such a sense of community here and a very welcoming, kind, and friendly staff who is always willing to go out of their way to serve you. I love how they get involved with the surrounding communities and they put on great family friendly events. The owner is a great guy and very personable with every single customer. They always check up on you to make sure you have everything you need and go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your order. Not only is the service great, but so is the food. I've never had a poor experience at this Culvers all around in any area. Food has always been extremely good and super fresh. Also, restaurant is very clean and kept up nice. As fast food goes this is about as good as it gets ! I guess what I like the most about Culvers menu is the selection beyond their burgers. They have chicken, fish, roast beef/french dip, pot roast, fries, mash potato's, onion rings, lots of salads, Reuben's all on a variety of buns and breads. They have veggie sides, cole slaw chips.... well you get the picture. When you walk in the menu is huge, it covers the wall above the order counter. Most people walk in and spend a good 2 or 3 minutes looking it over. Everything is made fresh so the give you a number and off you go to get you soft drinks. When it's ready someone brings it to your table or if your carry out, to where you standing off to the side. Their custard and ice cream is great, lots of flavors, toppings and sweet things you can add to it ! Drive thru, after you place your order and pay, you drive ahead and park while you food is made and brought out to you. So good fresh food... kinda fast :) read more

Culver's is the mullet of the culinary world...McDonald's in the front, real restaurant in the back. My family loves going here and since I'm home visiting they wanted to take me there. The giant board at the counter itself was super lengthy and not very well organized. If you are going to have like 100 different things on your menu, some not so normal items (butter burgers? So this is why there is an obesity problem.)...then it would be nice to have a place to easily view the items. All you get is some one behind the counter impatiently waiting for you to select something from the wall of food. Don't get me wrong...the food was fairly tasty and the people who were working there were nice. I just didn't like the layout. Either be fast food or fast food in the drive thru and regular restaurant in the rest. At least a place like Steak n Shake you can choose to drive thru and it's fast food or if you go in it's a nice place to sit an enjoy. Why go to Culver's and get fast food ambiance inside when you can just drive thru for the same gratification? read more

SInce I moved to MIchigan and have no access to In-N-Out Burgers (Oh Lord, how I miss In-N-Out....), I had been adrift, lost amongst crappy, mundane fast food joints....until I found Culvers. Culvers has the best fast food burgers I have had in Michigan, bar none. The Butter Burger is hot, juicy, and delicious. They have several different cheeseburger variations, so you can choose from Wisconsin cheddar, Swiss, American, etc. I love the onion rings (nice big, fresh slices of onion dipped in a batter and fried until perfectly crisp) and the green beans (cooked with onions.....so good!). I have never tried cheese curds, as it is a Midwestern thing I guess, but they are on my list of items to sample at some point soon. For dessert, you can't miss with their frozen custard (ie. ice cream). They always have vanilla and chocolate and a daily special flavor. The manager is very friendly and he runs a tight ship.....all of his staff are friendly, courteous, and they get your order correct!!! I cannot tell you how many times I have left the drive-through line at a McDonalds or Taco Bell and something is missing or incorrect on my order.....It is well over 75% of the time. At Culvers, I have never gotten a wrong order, missing item, or been left without napkins/straws/etc. I truly appreciate the attention to detail and customer service. read more

I'm going to cut right to it. The food is good, servers are friendly. No issue there. BUT stop hanging the number plates on our door handles and shoving them in our window channel. AND a good way to make your customers drop their bags of food is to hand them a bag with a receipt wrapped around the top so it just slips right out of your hand. Establishment is nice. Younger girls working and a lot of them so service is fast and prompt and always smiling and friendly. Refreshing to see in a fast food establishment these days.
