This was my second time ever at a Culver's To eat: So apparently you can get a kid's meal as a whole adult and I love that so much because last time I ate for 6 whole adults and my tummy hurt a lot because I have zero self control. The kid's meal wasn't significantly smaller than an adult meal but still worth it. Anyway I got the butterburger with cheese + lettuce + mayo + ketchup (honestly delicious and exactly what I needed), cheese curds (though not the best cheese curds I've had and I actually prefer the fries so I would pick that next time), fountain drink, and then custard (chocolate I've cream with Oreos). Finished everything except my cheesecurds because I got full. Service: exceptional. There are so many employees and each one we interacted with was so unbelievably nice. This one employee said "I really like your outfit today" and I seriously hope that both sides of her pillow are cool every night for the rest of her life. And I hope she sees this and knows she made a stranger's day. I'm not a fast food person and the last time I was in WI was the last time I had fast food. But Culver's is worth it. read more

Road trip traveling home from Ely, MN and it was lunchtime. We figured, you can never go wrong with Culver's. No matter which one I go to, it is consistently good. On this stop I kicked things up a bit, instead of getting my typical Double Cheeseburger, I went with a Fried Chicken Sandwich. It wasn't as good as one from KFC or Popeye's, but it hit the spot and stopped my hunger pains. It proved to me, stay with what you love, a big juicy burger. The crinkle fries are always a win in my book. I love how the ketchup clings to the notch's in the fry when dipped into the tiny cups. Another winner for me, is their house Root Beer. I am still wishing for it to be bottled or canned and sold at my local grocer. Service is always fast, polite and hospitable, which makes it a favorite stop when traveling. read more

Don't go to this Culver's. I fell on the sidewalk on ice. Full flat on my back fall. I went into the building and told the 5 staff standing in a row behind the counter. I told them i fell and they need to put salt on the sidewalk. They all just stared at me and I said again they need to salt the sidewalk. Finally one of the younger ones said ok. As i turned the corner to go down the bathroom hallway, i heard one of them say at least she didn't tell you she was going to sue you! By the time i got back to the car i realized they hadn't asked me specifically where to salt the sidewalk. I bet they didn't do a damn thing about the ice. What really got to me about the whole thing is that they didn't even ask if i was alright. Coldhearted people. read more

I won't say names but passive aggressive drive thru employee working at 4:40 on 07/14 for my friend forgetting to mention she wanted ketchup on her burger after having been asked for condiments he responded with "that's why I asked if you wanted condiments". Her burger came with no ketchup on it ketchup and ice cream orders came wrong. Other staff inside were attentive and respectfully corrected orders. read more

Food is always good. They have the best chocolate malts over any other fast food places. I love the variety of foods they offer. Their prices are a bit higher than the typical fast food restaurant, but the quality and taste is so much better. Well worth it. read more

On part 1 of our Great Canadian Road trip, we headed from Manitoba to Chicago and thus drove through WI. I love trying foods/restaurants/chains that are unique to each particular US State, so I insisted that we stop by Culver's to sample some of their popular items. We each had a salad and shared a Butterburger, order of cheese curds, and their famous frozen custard. Their salad was a standard salad - exactly what I expected and nothing to write home about. The cheese curds were fried and fabulous - I found a few pieces to be plenty. The Butterburger tasted like a more decadent standard burger; it was pretty good, but I wouldn't necessarily routinely go out of my way for it. The frozen custard, while delicious, was simply a creamier version of ice cream. Verdict: I'm glad we stopped to try some WI favourites. I should honestly just start a list of all the Culver's locations I've been to because it feels like I've been to all of them. Most of my reviews are pretty much the same: hot, tasty food served with a genuine smile and in a clean restaurant with clean bathrooms. Even though the food at each Culver's is pretty standard across the board, every now and then you get a burger that's cooked and assembled in a way that's just a cut above the consistently good Culver's chain experience. My visit to the DeForest Culver's was one of those times. I got the cheeseburger kids meal. The fries were some of the freshest I've had - the outside were perfectly crispy and the insides creamy. The burger was juicy without being greasy, the cheese had melted into the patty, and the veggies and condiments were all in the right ratios that you could taste the individual elements without being overwhelmed by any one thing or the mix of flavors as a whole. The out side of the location was very well maintained. We did go through the drive through so I can not speak to the interior. We placed an order with an friendly and helpful voice. Really good stuff!! The custard was great! I loved it and when I am back in the old USA I can only hope I will cross paths with another culvers. You know what the thing is with culvers? You actually don't need that much, it's sort of like eating cake batter or cookie dough. You can only have so much before you start getting that sickly feeling and start stirring that plastic spoon around and staring down the custard and wondering why you dont wanna finish. Yeah it's custard and it's heavy especially when you add every kind of peanut butter chocholate bar to the mix.Let me tell you those first five spoonfuls are pure goodness then it goes downhill. This is my go-to Culver's whenever I'm driving between Minneapolis and Chicago. It's conveniently located right off of the interstate about 10 minutes north of all the Madison exits. And when you pull up outside you'll immediately notice that the parking lot is packed with cars. This is the sign of a good place! As for the food, there's really nothing special about it. I like the fact that the burgers are smash grilled and that the buns are buttered. They're not healthy by any stretch of the imagination but if I were forced to pick between McDonald's, Burger King, or Culver's I'm going Culver's. As for this location, it's clean and well kept and the staff are always friendly. The bathrooms are also clean which is important for the weary traveler. I can't give this place 5 stars because fast food chains certainly don't warrant that sort of rating but it's quite solid nonetheless. 4 stars. read more

I heart Culver's. In fact, there are few things that I love more than a Culver's burger and fries, and when the custard flavor of the day is something I like - paydirt! Culver's menu is extensive. Everything from burgers to salads to full-on family restaurant style dinners - and everything is yummy. After your meal, you then have a huge decision to make, between custard flavors, sundae styles, toppings, shakes...you could be there for hours deciding what you want, but you can't really go wrong. The shakes are SUPER thick and they'll put just about anything you want into one. In the summer when it's hot, I could have a Lemon Ice every day! This particular Culver's in DeForest is a large one. It's near my parents' house so it's the one I visit the most often, and it's pretty much just like the rest of them. Reasonable price $31 for a family of four as follows: Bacon cheeseburger, fries, Oreo shake for the 12 year old boy. Plain burger, waffle cone vanilla ice cream for 9 year old daughter Wife got a big chicken salad. I got a big bacon cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, red onion, fries, and a soft drink. The fresh ground burgers lived up to the hype. Much prefer that juiciness over what some of the more common fast food burger places claim to be meat. Good service/friendly staff. I got the cranberry bleu salad and it was good except for the chicken. It wasn't this locations fault but overall Culver's would need to get better chicken for this. It was way too soft and fake tasting so I didn't even eat it. The malt was tasty. It's nice that it wasn't just purely strawberry flavored but instead had real strawberries pieces in it.
