Came here for an early business dinner with my team. It was my first time visiting Wisconsin and there was no way I was leaving without trying the cheese curds. We tried both the fried cheese curds and the local goat cheese curds and it appeared the goat cheese was liked by most. I had a lamb burger and it was really nice and juicy. Had a passion fruit mojito. For dessert I had the cheesecake and a tasting of vanilla ice cream. The cheese cake was dense and had cherry compote. The ice cream they served was from Sassy Cow which in itself, I was told, is very popular. The portions are pretty big. It is a nice place and the ambiance suited business professionals as well as families alike.

The restaurant was fun. Great selection of on tap beers and a good whiskey selection. The lamb burger was delicious as were the cheese curds. I had the pistachio cherry cheesecake for dessert and I thought it was fantastic

Everything was just.. Ok. Nachos were fine thinner chips than a lot of places - that may be a good or bad thing to you, but my half of the plate barely had cheese. And I think the $3 to add chicken got us maybe 4 total bites of chicken. Chicken bacon Avacado sandwich was just OK all around. Tasteless chicken, weird blend with Avacado, very average bacon that added neither crunch not particular taste. Gyro Fries tasted like someone just dumped a ton of feta on a basket of fries. Allegedly there was tatziki sauce and other flavors, but they were drowned out. I didn't finish much of anything, which was visibly pretty obvious, and I didn't hide my disappointment when the waitress checked in our meal, but no effort of any kind was made to ask why or try to improve on it. It was mid afternoon and not particularly busy, but it was UW graduation, so maybe all were just burned out from earlier?

Excellent burger and chicken salad. Good service and full bar. Wish they had more sides like coleslaw or chips.

I met some friends here for a casual dinner without much expectation. They have a cute cow-motif ambience but I think they could play it up more. Our service was just okay, but the server didn't seem to know much about the drinks, or maybe he wasn't interested in us and when I asked for guacamole (when the tacos were tasteless), he said they didn't come with guacamole, but were extra charge and walked away from the table. He didn't ask if I wanted it, but just seemed to say "no." I would have loved some! I had a cranberry frozen margarita and it was mostly delicious, but the last 1/4 was so tart, it was undrinkable. But the real let down was the tacos, which I left mostly on the plate. The beef tacos were bland, unspiced, and underwhelming. The beef was rubbery and sad.

We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table at Tipsy Cow in Sun Prairie, but it was definitely worth it. The cheese curds were absolutely amazing--crispy on the outside, perfectly melty inside, and full of flavor. Our drinks were great, and everything was very reasonably priced, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and the staff was friendly despite the busy evening. Definitely a solid spot if you're in the area and craving Wisconsin comfort food!

No Tipsy sauce just dry and ask for American cheese for an original PM.

Cool little lit up corner place with lots of windows, a casual bar, TV sports, nice bathrooms. Had a margarita and the best patty melt on rye, no spread is how I live mine. (Don't want a sweet melt with 1000 etc) Let me say ,.... It's DELICIOUS, grilled to perfection with the perfect crunch. I ordered 1/2 onion rings and it was still a lot. They were awesome too. Great service and drinks.

Very welcoming. Waitress was attentive and answered questions we had. The burger was cooked to perfection. The half order of fries was plentiful and we could have split that order. It was very clean and they quickly cleaned the table after the guests left. Tasteful decoration.

They simply have the best mac and cheese I've ever had in my life! They have the base Mac and cheese featuring a 3 year cheddar cream sauce, but then they can dial it up a notch with your choice of add ons! I consider myself lucky that one day I went in and they were offering beer cheese soup as a special. The burgers and tots are excellent as well!

We stopped here for dinner when we were in SunPraire for shopping. My husband was craving for burger and when we looked up, Tipsy Cow showed up as the nearest one that had burgers. Their website main page promotes the Local Lamb Burger, and by the looks of it he instantly decided that's the one he was gonna try. We ordered the burger, along with Alligator Bites and the Memphis Tots. The server mentioned that as the burgers didn't come with any sides, they offer anything from their appetizer menu as a half order. We stuck to full order as we intended to share the food between us. The alligator bites arrived first.. there was very little meat and felt chewy. I've had alligator before from Montana/Idaho area but it wasn't this chewy. The bites were okay I'd say - we'd probably not order them again. The rest of food arrived next. The service was pretty quick even though it seemed pretty busy. We seated in the outdoor area. It was very casual. The Memphis tots tasted great. I loved the spice... had to literally control myself not to over eat them, lol. The burger was pretty standard. We decided we didn't quite like the egg with the burger as it made everything messy and super ceded the taste of everything else. Couldn't quite tell if the meat was lamb or port or beef, as all we could taste was the egg. I being a super fan of eggs, didn't like the combination as such. We'd probably come back some other time again when we are in the area and hungry, but try other burgers and appetizers as it seemed like a promising menu.

Good burgers (many choices). Located in a busy shopping center. Outside looks pretty plain but the inside and the outdoor area are nicer.

Our group of five tried Hot Pot 608 on University Avenue last night. I always love a good hot pot…read moreand Hot Pot 608 did not let me down. We were greeted immediately and led to our table. Our waiter came by and learned that we had not been to this hot pot, so he walked us through the process. Like other hot pots I have been to, they have a sauce station with various ingredients and directions for making a number of sauces and you pick your broth(s) in advance, and they bring it to your table. You can have two separate broths in each pot using a divider. But this was different in that this is an All You Can Eat (AYCE) Hot Pot. Other Hot Pots also have options for AYCE noodles and maybe potato or sweet potato, but this was AYCE for everything including appetizers, vegetables, seafood, and meats. It was $35 per person which seemed high at first but once you realize how much food you can get it is well worth it. We started by ordering some appetizers. Honestly, I probably could have made a meal just w/those. We tried pot-stickers, pork egg rolls, fried chicken teriyaki, and shrimp dumplings. I wasn't' a huge fan of the egg rolls, they coating was pretty dense, but everything else was great. When I go back, I'd like to try the pork buns. We ordered our first set of meats as well as rice which they bring to you and then headed up to the refrigerators where they keep the vegetables, additional meats, seafood and noodles. I won't list all of the options, check out their menu, but suffice it to say it was truly impressive. I was really pleased w/the quality of the food including the seafood like squid, shrimp and fish balls. I also loved the variety of vegetables including lotus root, black fungus, enoki and king oyster mushrooms, Bok-choy, napa, and broccoli. It's a fun dining experience to cook your food in the broth. My favorite was the spicy marrow. We ordered more appetizers and more rice. There are some options for dessert but other than the custard bun I didn't try any. Honestly there were so many options to choose from, but I was so full by the time I left that I didn't try even a quarter of the different items. I would definitely go back to Hot Pot 608. A fun, tasty, and filling dining experience.

There was only one server so props to him for serving, expoing, bussing etc. the meats and soup came out super fast. I enjoyed the meats quality (kept it to seafood, lamb, and beef.) and they have everything available to grab at the counter area. Sauce is do it yourself, and it looks questionable with the colors, but it was still reminding me of home and it was flavorful. They had some buffet style desserts like jello. I got the crawfish, shrimp, konjac jelly, fish tofu, vermicelli, clams, black mushrooms and etc on the side.

Hot-N-Spicy is one of my all time favorite restaurants which remains a cultural culinary gem!…read moreMadison, WI is beyond blessed to have Hot-N-Spicy which is the most authentic SouthEast Asian restaurant in the Madison area that shares the culture of countries like Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam with the community through their incredible delicious food/cuisine! They truly live up to their name "Hot-N-Spicy" and the cultural significance of the Thai chili pepper which is a food symbol of Thailand which often represents hospitality, warmth, and resilience! They bring all the spice and don't hold back! If you are not used to spice/spicy hot dishes, I suggest you start at level one spice and work your way up. They will ask you on dishes made with chili peppers what spice level you want 1-4 and can even make it hotter also! Hot-N-Spicy is genuinely unique because they offer Issan food dishes and flavors that is uniquely from the Issan/Isan Northeast region of Thailand that is heavily influenced by Lao and Cambodian flavors with the use of heat, fresh herbs, and the heavy use of fermented fish sauce that brings different flavors different from other regions of Thailand. As an update, Hot-N-Spicy used to be located in the back of the Viet Hoa Market. It is now located next door from the market in a larger space in the same strip mall that allows for a more comfortable sit-down seating experience of a full restaurant. I have tried almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed! For appetizers, I love their angel wings which are deboned chicken wings stuffed with chicken, carrot, and bean thread noodles fried to pure crispy perfection! Their most popular selling appetizers are their amazingly addictively delicious crab rangoons! Their chicken satay is also a must try! I also recommend trying their beef jerky which is so delicious, it often sells out quickly during the day! Their main entrees are so outstanding, it is hard just to order one entree! My absolute favorite that I recommend is their steak Laab which is the best Laab I have had in Madison! It is heavily influenced with Isaan flavors/culture with minced beef, tripe, red onion, cilantro, mint, fresh lime juice, rice powder, fish sauce and scallions. I love the beef steak Laab because it is unlike anything you will ever taste with so much flavor from a combination of flavors with hint of sour with the lime, salty/umami/pungence from the fish sauce, balanced with refreshing different herbs, texture with the tripe, while the toasted rice powder gives this dish a tiny bit of crunch/texture that gives a subtle nutty flavor! This dish is a minced meat salad traditionally eaten with your hands and sticky rice/vegetables like cucumber. I also really enjoy their Pad Thai, Pho, and Crispy Noodle Lad Na! Your visit wouldn't be complete without quenching your thirst with either their Thai iced coffee/tea! Hot-N-Spicy remains at the top of my list for Thai/Lao cuisine! If you are looking for true authentic flavors/traditionally prepared dishes, definitely try Hot-N-Spicy!

The combination of romaine, cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, mint, homemade daikon, and the crispy fried egg roll wrapper created the perfect balance of freshness and crunch. The nem nuong dipping sauce was so good that I ordered extra. I also tried the Panang Red Curry, and it was outstanding. The curry was rich, creamy, slightly sweet, and packed with flavor. I ordered level 1 spice, and it was the perfect amount of heat without overwhelming the dish. The homemade curry paste, coconut milk, basil, peppers, and jasmine rice came together beautifully. It's also been great to see this local business grow. What started as a takeout spot inside Viet Hoa Market has expanded into a larger space on Monona Drive, and it's easy to see why. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the new location offers plenty of seating. If you're craving fresh spring rolls, flavorful curry, or simply a great meal, Hot N Spicy is absolutely worth a visit. Added bonus the service was AMAZING!!!
