I'd give this Culver's zero stars if I could. Lower your expectations from your usual Culver's experience because this is not that. And to be completely fair, as absolutely garbage as this Culver's is, at the end of the day it's a Culver's in the city next to an L stop...it truly is what it is. If you're excepting the Culver's you've probably had in the burbs, don't expect that here. They've screwed up every order I've ever gotten, the food is either piping hot or ice cold, and it's generally a disaster. No one goes to Culver's for an expensive burger, but most Culver's are a cut above the McDonald's and Burger King's of the world...but not this one. read more

After I placed my order their website told me it would be ready in five minutes. That was a lie. Food is good quality, service is very friendly and efficient, restaurant is spotless. However we had walleye sandwich and walleye dinner. Lovely fish, totally unseasoned and bland. Bigger problem was the extreme oiliness of preparation. Plus the cooking oil had unpleasant aftertaste. Perhaps deep fryer was not heated to tempereature??. This shift had zero sense of organization. How can so many employees stand idle while there's a lobby full of waiting customers? Horrible customer service. I have gone in a few times and only ordered a custard dish and it always takes over 15 mins. Last time i was there i was literally the only customer in the place and the staff was all standing talking to each other so I assumed that the custard was being made in the machine or something and finally after 10 min of me standing there watching them talk to each other, I asked how long they think it would be and they immediatly went over and made it. I am really glad Culvers is starting to finally have more locations in the city. Went to the one on Montrose the other night and as always really enjoyed it. The food is always very good. I especially love their cheeseburgers, fries and Cole Slaw. And of course, all of their many different deserts! Prices by today's standards are not too bad. The Place was very clean and the employers very friendly. Perfect location right by the Montrose El stop which was perfect for me as I took the Brown Line to get there. For this to be a newer culvers, you would think that it would be clean when you walked into the building. All the tables during my visit were dirty the carpets were dirty. They were out of ketchup on three different ketchup dispenser machines, but the employees had enough time when we walked up to give her order to be sitting there, talking with each other looking like they were bored. Came with a friend and we had fish fry with French fries. Food was excellent for fast food. Place was super clean and they had well trained friendly staff! Awful all around. If you are craving Culver's, go to the one on Irving. This place is run by sh!tty teenagers which like I would get since I obviously was one at one time, but they go above and beyond to f*ck with you and your food. I swear there are zero adults in charge at this place. No one seems to care if the food is even edible. Like I'm pretty sure this person must own like 20 Culver's because if this was my only one, I'd just close up at this point. Online orders don't work here either. You will wait an hour plus for cold food that isn't correct. Last time I had to wait an additional 30 min for my mixer and I was like 1 of 5 people in line. They laughed at me after I finally showed my frustration. I tried so hard to keep being patient and calm but like d@mn. Don't just take my word either. Keep reading. Ate here with my kids for the first time. The food was terrible tasting and they forgot to include half the order, even my kids thought the food was bland. By the time we got the rest of the food, the first half of the order was cold. Orders of most of the other people in the restaurant at the same time as us were also missing items. The issue seems to be with the kitchen staff, which you can hear complaining about customers from the front. The staff at the front was incredibly nice and handling everything the best they could. However, when we were eating, some guy who worked there was slamming garbage bins around purposely and loudly complaining about me specifically to his coworkers. I wasn't rude when I approached them about the mistake and even apologized to the workers at the register for the headache to get the rest of our order, and of course thanked them...so I don't know why the guy was so rude for no reason. We won't be back because the food was gross and the order was completely messed up. Seems overpriced for the lack of quality. I went because of the hype around Culver's, but it was such a terrible experience all around. The swarm of fruit flies surrounding the ketchup and soda station are flagrantly uncontrolled. Also the case over my table, as in swatting them. Ordered very specifically: extra onions and extra pickles, and mayo... got exactly two slivers of onion, and two tiny rounds of pickle - literally no mayo. One of the best fast food experiences I've ever had! Great service!! Bryana took my order and was SO sweet and helpful. The place was very busy but there was barely a line because of how fast they were moving. I got my food in less than 5 minutes and my order was all perfect. Great space and especially great staff! I have gone to many Culver's all over Michigan and Indiana and this particular one that is close to my house is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to! Employees just Stand there and talk among themselves while the drink area is dirty and the ketchup containers are empty, when you mention it to them they give packets of ketchup instead of filling and cleaning the area. The last time I ate there I found a long hair in my burger, yuk!!!!! Don't bother going to this location- still love Culver's just not this one!! read more

This was the worst experience. I waited in the to go area for over 25 mins. There was no one to help. They didn't even give me my drink. I left after waiting so long. The food was under cook. Then they gave me fires instead of cheese curbs. They need new management and help. read more

Culver's is a fantastic fast food chain, with superb service and very good food. This location doesn't live up to the chain's standards. It's poorly run with incompetent and indifferent employees. Try the food here and at another location outside the city and you'll know. From ordering a whole meal or just ice cream, the process and experience are disappointing. Fried chicken has been over cooked on few occasions, similarly with cheese curds. Ordering is slow, employees often confused and mixing orders. They just need more quality control and better selection of caring and engaged staff. It's a shame fir Culver's brand. read more

Since Culvers has opened it's doors the foot and vehicle traffic through the alley (Honore) has increased as well and the garbage up and down the alley and along Wolcott street. Let's not forget the Rats. We have semi trailers going in and out throughout the day. We have Fed Ex and and UPS making deliveries and pickups at the small manufacturing facilities compounded by Uber pickups at the apt, Cars parking to pick up food or dropping off at the CTA station, all merging in the one small spot, blocking the entrance to the alley. I might add that there Is NOT a garbage can outside Culver's so they use the neighbors or throw it at the cans or in the alley. The garbage is all over the parking across from Culvers. Patrons standing as well as children in the alley or at the edge blocking traffic, in addition to the delivery trucks and moving vans. 1) There should be a metal fence separating the take out window from the alley. 2) For safety reasons he take out window needs to be closed down. It's to close to the alley. 3) A No parking or standing sign needs to be erected. Is anyone else experiencing this too? I normally love Culver's but this one is just not it. The food here is not the problem, it's the service. Slow slow and more slow. its fast food i expect FAST food but when I'm at this culvers i get slower then a snail food. I have a 50 min lunch break and when i get here and have to wait 40 mins and run back to school with my food and shove it all in my face 2 minutes before, it is not enjoyable. They also only ever have like 1 register open when the line is super long. WHY??, idk. I will sit in culvers waiting for my food while i see many people who ordered after me get food first. when i walk up to the register so the workers can see my waiting i can see my food just sitting there. Every Culver's I've been to is clean, happy, staff is attentive, and food is impeccable. I love that it is healthy food which makes it more fun to splurge on the custard! Always highly recommended! Staff is quick, clean, worth every penny, great food.! I have always seen it in good shape, clean and well taken care of. Of course the butter burgers are excellent, because they are made with butter. The custard is very good as well, it has always been fresh and they are constantly making new batches. I used to go to Culver's before they came to Chicago because they were above and beyond the competition in the fast food industry. They were leaps and bounds past the competition in food quality, customer service, speed of service, and cleanliness. I had a feeling when they came to Chicago, it might be the beginning of the end in many of these categories. I have slowly watched the quality at this location go down over the past year...today being no exception. The cashier did not greet me, she was wearing her mask on her chin, I mean why even bother??? and she very rudely asked me questions I already answered when I ordered, for example: I said I'd like two deluxe single burgers, she said regular or deluxe, I said deluxe then she said single or double I said single, then I said for here, then she responded for here to go. It was like I was speaking to a malfunctioning robot who wasn't listening and only reciting a script. The condiment station and soda machine area were a travesty, something slippery on the floor, not sure if it was reconstituted dried up ketchup or mayonnaise, two sizes of drink lids weren't stocked and one of the straw dispensers was empty and not a single surface had been wiped down for what seemed like hours. Judging by the banter coming from the kitchen it didn't seem like anyone was going to either. It sucks the burgers are still good...desperately seeking a better burger so I can stop giving money to this punk ass establishment. So disappointed. read more

Treat yourself and go there for the fish. It's quality and quantity that I have not seen in years. Deep fried fish like it used to be in the good all days. And take a break from fries, which they do very well and try their onion rings. Pretty much the best I've ever had. They make a lot of other sandwiches but I've only tried their double burgers. The one without cheese and I thought they were very good except there was very very little toppings. If you like lettuce on your burgers be sure to ask for extra lettuce. I have been there four times since it opened and this was the first time they got my order correct so maybe the staff is finally getting into the swing of things. They give you a number and you can go and sit down and they bring you the food which you order from the counter first. And don't forget to try their frozen treats, they're great. read more
