We stopped by culinary drop out today while running errands around town. It's a typical fox restaurant establishment. It's a large space with plenty of seating. I like that you can reserve certain portions of the restaurant for special occasions. We saw both a graduation party and an engagement party there and there was still plenty of space for regular diners. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the specials and menu items. I ordered the salmon and my partner ordered the skirt steak. Both were delicious! The dishes are a little on the pricey side for the portions, but very flavorful and cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back!

We went because some in our party don't have one where they live. It's fine. My steak was cooked as requested. The salad was delicious. Server was nice and friendly. The place is loud but wasn't too crowded so we could talk to each other

Ample parking....tricky to access directly from Grant, but side street approach is easy. Side door entry. Ambiance/Cleanliness-Stellar. The dining room is all glass and light. The bar area is modern and inviting. The patio area has fire pits. The furniture is visually dstinctive and seating is comfortable. One of the more visually imp pressive places in Tucson, which is sad, because it is part of a chain..even so...5 stars Service-Skyla was welcoming, attentive and helpful. Could not have asked for better sevice. 5 stars Food-We started with the Pork Belly Nachos-honey mustard crème fraîche, BBQ Pork Belly, black bean,, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo...FLOUR tortillas (this is Tucson, do better) and overcooked pork belly. Filling but meh. Beer Battered Fish & Chips, coleslaw, tartar sauce.....fish was outstanding, fries were decent...coleslaw tasted like they mistook salt for sugar...tartar sauce was mid...needed pickle relish. Kitchen needs oversight. 3 stars.

During my most recent visit to Tucson, I was excited to give Culinary Dropout a try. The location itself was massive and could accommodate large parties. We saw at least 2-3 Christmas parties during our visit. A good location given they offer ping pong tables, live music, and an open area for entertaining. We did have some trouble finding parking and the restaurant is VERY loud. Good decor though. Unfortunately we only had a party of two. From across the street, I called to ask about the wait time. It was a Friday night, but the hostess said they currently had no wait but was subject to change. When we arrived under 5 minutes later, the wait was around 15 minutes. Our waiter was SO nice, but there was some significant time between visits. He was apologetic because they were prioritizing the parties. We had plenty of time to finish our waters before refills, and to let food settle between orders. We started with the prosciutto deviled eggs. Crispy, fine prosciutto, creamy yolks and perfect eggs. These are a must try, although they only come with 3 (1.5 eggs). The entrees were just incredible, but not very filling. The Mongolian Ribs were delicious but only came with about 3 good pieces of meat. Supplementing with an app and/or dessert is a must. My favorite was the carmalized banana bar. I'll be dreaming of it. Tasted like a dense toffee graham cracker crust, with a mousse or custard, and topped with a torched banana. The cream on the plate was just as good.

This place was so cool! We went on a late Friday night- we got to hear live music, watch the game & play some ping pong. We were STARVING when we went but could t decide on what to get so we got a few appetizers- the brussel sprouts, the pretzel fondue and the crispy rice with spicy shrimp on top. Everything was so good- the crispy rice was yummy and we couldn't get enough, the cheese fondue was not your regular nacho cheese which gave it an elevated flavor, & in third place the brussel sprouts in that delicious sauce (I just personally like my brussel sprouts cut up a little smaller) It was a bit pricey BUT the ambiance and the staff made it so worth it. Will be going back!

The service was amazing and so was the food except the gravy was very salty, first time there for brunch will definitely go back.

Extremely delicious and flavorful chicken katsu sandwich! I love when you ordered a crispy sandwich and it actually comes cripsy, even when it's topped with slaw and a dressing. It's been a while since I have been here but it's just as good as I remember. Very large space with plenty of food options. Our table enjoyed the MAC Burger as well. Our server was very nice and recommended the burger, everyone was happy with it. Tons of games to play in the back room like Ping pong, foosball and cornhole. Bathrooms were very clean and nice. Great atmosphere to hang out in with a large group.

Great spot. Ordered the steak and it was super good. The portions were a little small, reason for the four stars. Service was great Ambiance is awesome.

Very cool space! Lots of seating of different styles (regular tables, high tables, low booths, bar area, etc.), a play area with cornhole and pingpong, and a private room. The food was excellent. We had the duck and shrimp fried rice and the Mongolian short rib... both fantastic! Would love to come back and try other items on their menu. We had a large party reservation that they had to split into two low tables pretty far from each other. The low tables didn't have enough space for everyone since there was a booth/couch-type seat and a few lawn chairs so we ended up pulling seats from other tables, which felt illegal to do. It was a busy Saturday night so our food and drinks did take a while to get to us but it was worth it. Very cool atmosphere for groups!

First time visit, booked reservation for outdoor seating boy was I surprised when it's still basically indoors Was not impressed with the table and cold metal chairs. Ordered a vegetable Bloody Mary which was so terribly tomatoey and spicy I couldn't drink it. One of the worst I've had, thankfully they made it right and took it back no charge. On the plus side, I appreciated you can pick and choose what you want on a cheese board! Bread was super good! Smokehouse hash was very flavorful and came with the biggest tortilla I've ever seen in my life! Will return to explore the menu further.

Suffice to say she absolutely raved - placing it on par with many of the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants she has sampled back east. And, we agreed, when Michelin publishes its first-ever SouthWest U.S. edition later this year (2026) I recognize getting a star is a mighty fete but if Tito/Pep does not at least make its S.W. Bib list I will know the fix is in. We started with the Queso Fundido ($13) - with chewy cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and beef chorizo it was a perfect blend of meaty/savory/fatty. We also ordered the Grilled Octopus ($17). What a surprise this was, the crunchy roasted pepper flakes and unusually soft grilled octopus it kicked the pants off of "calamari-style." We inquired and the way they remove the typical rubberiness is by poaching the octopus tentacles for 5(!) hours before grilling. You Go chef Martinez! For our entree we opted for the day's special: deep fried whole Red Snapper for two ($85)... as did about a half-dozen other tables in this intimate 20-tabled venue. See pics as a written description is inadequate. The crisp was excellent and the tender moist fish just beneath, exquisite. The roasted jalapenos were other worldly - somehow only mild heat and with a subtle sweet/acid presence... totally and entirely edible. As fantastic as the vinegar slaw was atop our self-made fish tacos, the tomatillo puree was ridiculous - so fresh and not sour that its scent was nearly as strong as its flavor. We asked again, how?! and were told they first cook the tomatillos for 3 hours. Folks, the effort involved to present this kind of meal would be nearly impossible to do at home for even double the cost. We concluded with the ganache dessert ($12). While so richly decadent it was possibly too rich, only by virtue of its size... it needs to be shared! We were deeply torn over that or the olive oil cake and will opt for the latter... next year, Lol. For drinks we ordered two glasses of their "red blend" (really good for a simple blend) and then the Pie Allen after dinner cocktail ($13) - an interesting combination of prickly pear liquor and port. The staff were amazing - not just in timely attentiveness (a minimum requirement at this level) but especially in terms of being able to field our deep curiosities about several of the dishes. Due to our "layers" of ordering we stayed an easy 2+ hours and were never rushed. Parking will get tight at peak times but everyone will be accommodated. Pre-tip we were at $165 - a special occasion outing for sure but, we both agreed, an (almost) bargain. At this level of quality and degree of effort in Chicago or Miami (places she recently lived) would be closer to $250 for two. Small note: three years ago this began, now it's the norm - restaurants are calculating the tip based upon a total that's After the tax has been added. It's a minor but, nonetheless, unconsented-to, inflation of the tip. Just an fyi :)

I had a PJ Margarita which was thirst quenching and refreshing after a hardy hike. I ordered the turnip salad and a side of frites. Service was great throughout (wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped us) and I was really pleased with the Nebbiolo wine I tried. We had several diners with special food needs (myself included) and they have menus for all our needs- vegan, dairy free, and gluten free. I started with the beef tartare. Being gluten free, I could only stare longingly at the bread that came with it for regular diners, while I received a plate of limp lettuce. Romaine or endive would have really improved the experience. The tartare itself was of quality beef and showed excellent knife work but the flavor itself fell flat. More salt and some acid would have really brightened it. I then had the halibut. The beets served underneath were the star, as the fish and sauce were really heavy and rich. Once I ran out of beets and sweet potato bites, I gave up on the rest of the entree- the same components but in different proportions could have made it a real winner. Finally, I had the lemon gelato the meringue. That was absolute perfection. No notes, and the only dish I scraped clean. The overall experience was nice, but if I go back, I can't help but hope the savory dishes improve to meet the dessert quality

Soooooo, yup, took us this long to visit this very cool spot! Geez, the heck is wrong with us?!…read more It was happy hour on a Monday, and man did it make Monday one of my fav days now!!! Caleb (maybe with a K) was simply amazing! He was sooo helpful, patient and wonderful all rolled up in a great human! The wine list was phenomenal, the beer on tap was such a great deal, an ice cold two pint pitcher for $6! And the food, guys....the food was outstanding! We shared the albacore tuna samich on focaccia and the best chips with a chefs charcuterie board! I did not want to leave! What a great deal! We were full for the rest of the day!!! There were a few other people at the bar and a few of the booths were taken. We were certainly able to carry our conversation as well as chat with folks around us! Everyone was chill enjoying their day. WHAT A FIND! Thank you baby Jesus!

It has been a minute since I've been to Postino! But it's just as great as I remember it!…read more Love the atmosphere and vibes--open, airy, lots of windows, modern with a touch of elegant industrial aesthetic. Very hip. My SIL and I enjoyed some wine--$6 a glass before 5. I went with the Sauvignon blanc and it was perfect for my tastes. Light and easy to drink! We also got bruschetta and the chef's charcuterie board. Everything was so yummy! My favorite bruschetta was the warm artichoke spread--which I didn't expect, but it was so good! They do a team-based service so several different people take care of you, making it pretty efficient. I'm sad it's taken me so long to come back, but I'm so glad I did and will make a point to come back soon!

Wait time only 15 mins for 3 plates as service was ramping up. Server was cordial and came frequently. FLAVOR Ahi Tower $18 Shareable is large and made 2 meals easily. Gorgeous presentation with Xtra Lg Won Ton Crisps that were extra thick too but just 3 crisps for 4.5" timbale of tuna and a mass of seaweed salad ratio was off. Bottom layer is diced onions & cucumber. Good job I requested a side of rice to make this a Main though $8 for some cilantro rice (already on menu Protein Bowl) is steep, esp when all other sides are $4-6 fries, Chorizo Beans $5, Salad $6??! While decent flavor, I grated ginger, sesame oil, Sambal and more soy to really make the poke pop on my leftovers. Ahi BLT $21 hubby ordered was seared rare, Yes, excellent quality artisan Prairie Bread that has a real crust and airy holes, really made the Sammie as did the fresh spinach, cuke, toms, pickles.1/2 came home too and he enjoyed both times. Friends' BBQ Smashburger $18 looked undersized compared to all other plates we saw come out --pizzas, calamari corn elotes, cauliflower. Burger seemed tall and small vs true thin smashed patties that are everywhere .They did enjoy. $14 for signature cocktails, they liked the 2 Old Fashioned ordered. Extensive grounds with corn hole and games for kids outdoors, large patio with tables, neat open air bar with TVs with baseball on, built in bar tables in railings edge the lit trees and notices lots of patio heaters for cooler weather. What a great outdoor venue to enjoy Tucson weather. Looking forward to another visit and timing up an early one again vs the busy after work crowds.

There was nothing wrong with the food and our drinks were delicious. Interestingly, the specialty drinks had no prices on the menu and my drink was $15 on our bill which was ok with me because it was very good. Our server was so rude throughout our evening. We asked him about the drinks and we were left to feel like it was an inconvenience. His demeanor and attitude was just so rude. Any questions we had about the menu he seemed so angry. He hardly said anything to us all evening. I tried to make some light hearted comments and he told me he didn't appreciate it as he was so busy. All of the other servers seemed fine. Between the four of us for a cocktail and food we easily spent $50 each. My husband and I typically tip 20-25% because we know serving is hard work. Needless to say he didn't quite get 10%. Love the atmosphere but felt like we weee on egg shells with this guy. I would go back but would not have him as our server.
