The proprietors were quite friendly as if I were the first customer of the day. To the menu I flew and made a choice right away. A crispy Cuckoos chicken it shall be and their milk tea too, accompanied by 8 tiny Boba spheres. I heard it prepared in the kitchen right quick, to the shelf it was delivered as if for St Nick. The service there is great! They are patient and attentive! I loved the cup, I found it adorable and am keeping it. The milk tea is lacking in flavor, the tea is not very potent so it kind of taste like a watery sweet milk. I also was not a fan of the boba, it's hard and chewy. I doubt mind it chewy at times but this one had many bobas that were hard in the middle. My cousin got one of their yogurt drinks, which is good but if you leave it to sit the drink separates and doesn't look pleasant. But overall that yogurt drink was significantly better than the milk teas. read more

Came here looking for tea house Formosa, so I was sad I couldn't do my pot of nice tea and sit quietly for a while, but I was happy to see the return of savory food items to the menu here. There is a nice and cozy environment that's nice for studying, getting work, or chilling with friends. They also sell boba, snacks, and food if you get hungry. If you come alone they also have these three private rooms with curtains so you can be alone with some privacy. They also have bathrooms if you need to take a lil potty break. Lots of space for sitting and relaxing. They play kpop so that can be a plus for minus depending on your preferences. The one thing that is quite annoying to me is that they play different songs compared to the music video they play on a projector so your mind may be a bit confused. read more

They have lots of food choices as well to snack, which is a good thing because their minimum for card is $8 and 1 boba is like around $6. I was craving for some Taiwanese snacks and milk tea. A quick search at Yelp pointed me to this place. We went at an off-peak time, only 3 other tables were occupied. The place was quiet and relaxing, and the wait for our food was short. I got Honey Dew Milk Tea for myself and shared the Chicken Nuggets with my husband. The whole meal was heavy; it could pass off as lunch. The Honey Dew Milk Tea is good. It's my favorite so it's always good, but I think there isn't much difference from the others I've tried before. As for the Chicken Nuggets... Where have you been all my life?? It was perfectly crunchy and perfectly seasoned that I didn't even need to dip it in Sriracha. They give it to you really hot, though, so you might want to be careful about burning your tongue. Next time I'm trying something else. I went here on Thursday in late March and ordered the spicy crabby sandwich and spicy fish balls. This is different from what I normally order as I stick to to the chicken sandwich and that's it. I wanted to eat something halal so I chose the fish option. BAD IDEA!!!! Upon eating the fish balls, I noticed they had a lot of seasoning and none of it was particularly spicy. It had like paprika or some red spice but it wasn't super spicy! I moved on to the fish sandwich and my stomach started to hurt. I couldn't even finish eating my food and I needed to throw it up immediately. I wouldn't recommend it ever again. I liked Cuckoo's, but after this experience, I don't think I can ever go back now. read more

New Doraville location opened up with super cute decor and lightly sweetened bubble teas! Perfect drinks and great spot for some girl talk! I got the Fruitarian which had fresh grapefruit, passion fruit seeds, and even a couple pieces of pineapple. I love the quality cups too with the heart shaped stoppers. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and it was a nice quiet spot to have conversation. The cashier was also friendly. They have a CC minimum so beware of that or bring cash. I love doing work at cafes, and this place has definitely become one of my favorite go-to places to study. I've come here twice and really enjoyed the decor and quiet ambience. The food and drinks are also really good. I've tried the Thai Tea with boba and the Cuckoo's Milk Tea. Both drinks were super tasty and cutting the sugar in half makes it not too sweet. The boba was perfectly chewy as well. I also tried the Taiwanese Chicken Nuggets, which were super yummy and crispy. The portion is really big too, so it's super filling. Just had an amazing lunch at Cuckoos in Doraville. Great food at a great price. I had the unagi bento box and the curry chicken. So yummy and tasteful. Portion sizes are very generous for the price. My latte, perfect, much better than Starbucks. The service was excellent, kind and patient with me while I ordered. Cuckoos is a great place to study and catch-up with friends. Good sizes to share with a friend. My best friend and I usually get a Thai tea, strawberry milk tea, chicken nuggets, and fries. The owners are very nice and have been sure to greet us whenever we come in. I love Cuckoos. I used to visit the Duluth location, but recently started going to the Doraville one more often. It is hard to find such a good place to study without being judged if you are alone. Definitely recommend cuckoos to anyone! read more

I've been coming into cuckoos from both this location and Duluth location for some time now and when I tell you the minute you walk in, you're automatically introduced with the greatest energy by the workers. The food is amazing and the drinks are really good. One thing I've noticed is that they're are more than welcome to accommodate and adjust your drink if it's either too sweet or not too sweet. The owner and stuff never be happy to explain the menu or exchange or adjust your drink . I actually requested no sugar but they recommended 50% sugar and they forced me to have it for some reason. I know it gonna be too sweet for me so I asked to exchange my drink after I tasted . The lady so mad even did not say anything or smile . She just so mad and throw away half of my drink and put more milk and gave me back without say anything !! Horrible customer service . You don't want to go or just don't ask Them anything !! If you are looking for a low-key spot for an evening of studying or even a cute date night spot, you should consider Cuckoos Cafe. Good food, great service, and cozy atmosphere hits all three marks for someone in search of a cafe. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by an enthusiastic employee with a warm welcome. As it was my first time visiting, I was unsure of what to order and spent a lot of time looking over the menu. They had some great deals going on, one being a happy hour discount where any drink you order would be 50% off with the purchase of any bento. Since I wanted to try a variety of options, I decided against the temping offer and kept looking. But the employee was patient with me the whole time and guided me through the menu until I was ready to order. After careful consideration, I ended up going with the Mango milk tea, takoyaki, and their Taiwanese chicken nuggets. Despite being a smaller store, there was plenty of seating available, even during the busier hours when I visited. There were benches, sofas, and even veiled booths if you wanted a little bit more privacy. Another nice touch was the piano in front of the register which anyone would play if they wanted. It was just a small detail, but it made the whole place feel a lot more comfortable and welcoming. It wasn't long after I paid and sat down that they called my order number up. I was thoroughly impressed with how quick the service was, especially when compared to a handful of other bubble tea places I've visited. One thing I noticed was that they only offer one size for most drinks, that being large. The cups have a solid plastic lid, with a tab that can be moved to the side to insert the straw. This is a departure from how boba is usually served, sealed with a plastic film that is then punctured by the straw. Personally, I am a fan of the new design, as the film was more prone to bursting and spilling, and offered no way to save the drink for later if so desired. Nevertheless, I know some people enjoy the process of stabbing their boba with the straw, so I figured it was worth noting. All the cups are labeled with a cute Cuckoo's Café design, and because of the design of the lid, can be reused if so desired. The drink itself was amazing, a mix between the sweet fruitiness of the mango and the creaminess of the milk. I tend to lean more towards sugary drinks though, so I would recommend going with less sugar if you don't care for sweet drinks as much. The food was no less impressive than the tea. The spicy chicken nuggets were incredibly crunchy on the outside, with the perfect blend of spice and seasoning. The portion size was also larger than I had expected, and when combined with the takoyaki resulted in a fulfilling meal. Speaking of the takoyaki, it came with six pieces, which all had just the right amount of okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes. They each had a crisp exterior while remaining soft and chewy inside, housing the perfect bite sized piece of octopus. All in all, Cuckoo's Café would score a 5 out of 5, being home to some delicious bites and drinks while having amazing service and a cozy atmosphere for studying or a date. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a new boba spot. read more

Cuckoo opened their 2nd location 2/27/2021 in Doraville and I have to admit, I like the décor a lot. It's a bit of an Asian/modern fusion style. If you've been to the Duluth location, then there are no disappointments when it comes to their Doraville one. I was greeted by the owner and she's amazingly sweet. During their grand opening, they had a buy 1 get 1 free offer special which applied to certain drinks. I ordered the black milk tea, jasmine milk tea which is by far my favorite one, and also winter melon black tea. The winter melon black tea was surprisingly good. I grew up drinking winter melon as a summer beverage in Taiwan and never thought about adding black tea in there. It was quite refreshing. The service was fantastic, they had a decent amount of staff so the wait time for the drinks were not long at all. I didn't get anything to eat but I'm sure it's as good as their other location. My favorite one is the Cuckoo's crispy tofu and of course their Cuckoo's Chicken Sandwich. I will most definitely come back and try their food the next time I'm around the location! Finding this cafe was such a pleasant surprise! My partner and I have come here twice, the first time because we wanted spicy chicken nuggets and the second time because the nuggets were so good that we were craving them again. The portions for the chicken nuggets are huge, esp. considering how reasonably priced they are. The cafe is a very nice atmosphere to sit in and chat, and the staff here are also extremely kind and helpful. Out of all the bubble tea places, I would highly recommend this one out of all them just for their quality drinks and boba. My favorite go-to is the black sugar milk tea.
