She said she would have to check her system for the correct unit while I just waited in the hallway with a cart full of things. She came back up after checking her system and told me the correct unit was on another level and it would be more $$ a month. I told her that wasn't fair because the error was with their business, not me and therefore I shouldn't have been penalized by spending more money. She repeatedly told me I wasn't being penalized even though they would be charging me more $$ per month. She finally agreed to speak with her district manager who thankfully honored the original price. However, the problems didn't stop there. This is the first 1 star review I've ever given…read more I have used three different professional movers in my life and the past 2 were wonderful and I gave 5 stars for. Bellhop as a company was genuinely horrible at multiple points in this move. Firstly, they contract out all their stuff so their one job is coordinating things and they do a horrible job at it. Our driver was 2 hours late, only had 3 moving blankets for our 2 bedroom house (resulting in damage to our $2000 bed frame that they gave me only $90 back for, after fighting tooth and nail to get that $90). The moving blanket situation was so bad that they tried to get us to move our TVs across the country ourselves because the loaders were so concerned with the safety of our belongings with only 3 blankets. On the dropoff, everyone had to pause unloading because Bellhop didn't give the driver a bill of lading. Then it took them forever to get it to us, and then it had to be printed. At each step in the process, it was almost impossible to get in touch with a human as they have an AI bot that you talk to when you call and no escalation process on the phone to get in touch with a human. All the actual guys/movers we worked with were lovely and professional and wonderful, but Bellhop was an absolute nightmare to work with and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
