Move booked for 8/3 for 4 hours. I had 2 of my 5 booked movers show up. Bard and Hunter were the only 2 who showed. Dave helped for a couple of hours on the LOADING side at 4501 Zenobia, that is all. I paid for the initial invoice, and have been charged additional $2.7k as though 5 movers took 9.5 hours to move me, when it was 2 movers. Bard and Hunter were the only 2 movers who actually showed and helped for the entirety of the move. Dave's help lasted for a couple of hours at the LOADING SIDE ONLY. Bard also assured me that he would make sure this exact thing did NOT happen with my invoice. I have reached out numerous times via phone and contact form to Bellhop. It is impossible to reach a human and I have to wait for a human to contact me, which has NOT happened. I'm issuing a stop paying through my bank as I can't get help from anyone at Bellhop, and I'll be sure to spread the word far and wide how awful Bellhop is. This is my 2nd time using you, and I will never ever ever again use your services and be sure to share my horrible experience. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I was quoted and contracted for over a week in advance, I paid for a full service with packing labor, got the quote, made payment and after a week I got an email saying they would not be able to provide packing labor literally 30 minutes before they showed up do to some error. I called Bellhop and I tried to explain what's going on and that we need packers and that I paid for that. I even checked over the phone and got the same price online for the full service. I told them that this is nonsense that you need to take care of this and that it feels like a scam, they disconnected me then canceled my contract, the driver showed me it was chanced and the driver and 2 laborers all drove off and left us stranded with this move. We took a lot of care to schedule this. THEN after all this mess someone messaged me telling me it would be DOUBLE the cost to pack our stuff up. it's just a 2 bed 1 bath apartment. I sent two emails that no one responded to. then I called their sales office and got a human both times who asaid sales can't help me and they can't transfer me to a human in support but they would submit my claim with the highest priority. At this point, I could write a dissertation about how absolutely horrendous Bellhop is, but since I don't have the space, let me give you some bullet points: -The two trucks assigned to us were 1.5 hours and 3.25 hours late respectively on the front end of the move (because they took other jobs to make more money), and an hour late on the back end of the move. -Only one person in the crew of people assigned to our move on the front end (Austin) had any idea what they were doing. The other people were college kids who all admitted it was their first or second time doing any moving, and it was clear they'd received NO training. They dropped and broke furniture in front of me without apology. They didn't bother to pad or wrap most of our stuff. And they packed the truck with no care or thought whatsoever (example: a heavy guitar amp was placed on my keyboard case despite it saying "Fragile" all over it) -On the back end of our move (Denver), we were supposed to have 6 crew members. Only 2 showed up. After they frantically called as many people as possible, eventually a 3rd person came, and maybe an hour later a 4th person came, but he was so high he might as well have not even been there. -When the trucks were opened at our destination, the crew members were so appalled by how they were packed, they took pictures of all the damage to make sure they wouldn't he held responsible for it. Lest you think they didn't cause any damage of their own, they took the mattress protector off of our mattress and dragged it on the concrete and also dragged a velvet couch on the concrete, causing permanent damage to both. -The main truck driver made incredibly misogynistic "jokes" to me and my partner, including telling me after I took off my jacket to reveal a crop top that, "If I had known you were going to be stripping, I would have brought my ones." -A valuable item was stolen from my partner's backpack, which had been placed aside in the primary bedroom closet. We had to file a police report, and Bellhop had to instigate an internal investigation, which went nowhere. Bellhop also refused to take any responsibility for the crime their contractor committed. The worst offenders were the customer service people at Bellhop who I dealt with after all of this happened. I spent weeks negotiating with them to get damages paid and a refund, and the most they were willing to pay out amounted to about a 60% total refund (including what they'd pay in damages) for the move. But when they sent over the legal agreement, it contained a non-disparagement clause. In case you were wondering how they have such good reviews, it's because people who they pay damages to are legally barred from saying anything negative about the company. I told them I wouldn't sign the agreement with that clause in it, and they refused to take it out. So I filed a claim with my bank under the Fair Credit Billing Act and eventually won a full refund. Unfortunately, that barely begins to cover the cost of the damages they caused to all of our stuff, but at least I can speak freely about my awful experiences with Bellhop. I had built a skeletal "mock-up" of the piece to determine the precise choreography necessary to get the piece from the detached garage to the basement recreation room, and to convince myself that the intended move was possible. Moving was a disaster. I had a team scheduled for Saturday morning and only 1 person out of 5 showed up. They had to cancel due to lack of people and it ruined my weekend. I had to be out of my house by Monday so we scrambled to find another company. I unfortunately had to go with bellhop again cause they were the only company available. The new moving team did show up on Sunday however they were only scheduled for 4 hours and they took 8. I spoke to customer service and they are unhelpful. They say they will call back and don't. They were only willing to give me 10% off which is unacceptable. I am still talking to them about getting more of a discount but I have to hound them to get a response. The movers team was ok but the team lead was obviously high and took multiple long breaks through out the day and didn't really help the team. The rest of the movers were ok. Don't use bellhop for moving. Use a more reliable company that actually cares about its customers and doing the right thing. read more

As a quick update (and I had presumed this would happen) Bellhop provided a settlement at ~25% of the total damage, which is definitely unacceptable. It took well over 30 minutes of waiting to call them for resolution, only to be told "your claims agent isnt here." That feeling of knowing you are dealing with a national firm that really doesnt care about customer service is strong. The time and brain damage of dealing with an extremely poor performing moving company isn't worth it - there are plenty of better options. I scheduled a move with Bellhops a few weeks ago. They reached out via email the morning of my move and told me they couldn't make it but wanted to reschedule for a few days out. I've had a huge challenge reserving loading docks, my lease ends in the next few days, and I have to work this week so I can't be around for a later move date. The "non-commitment" reschedule wasn't a miscommunication, it wasn't communicated at all. So I totally owe my Bellhops an apology. First, we were unable to nail down a move date until the Weds before our move - which was suddenly scheduled for Saturday. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find movers for the ever-popular weekend move, let alone with 3 days notice?!? It's fairly impossible, yet Bellhops figured it out and scheduled 2 guys who could assist us in unloading a 26' truck full of furniture from our home across the country. Here's where the problem came in. The day before our move, we got the email introducing our new Bellhops and one of them was (gasp!) a GIRL! From the photo she looked about my height, weight, and build and I immediately became concerned. I knew there were some super-heavy items on that truck - including a very large, bulky headboard, a tall, heavy cupboard, and a 400-lb dining table (no joke). Plus a zillion other not-so-heavy-but-definitely-not-fun-things to try and manipulate down the narrow stairway of our new home. A GIRL couldn't possible have the muscle to lift those things! I called Bellhops to ensure they understood our needs involved some seriously heavy lifting and, while they assured me both crew members had passed strength tests, I silently panicked. How could I find another big, burly guy with less than 24 hours notice? We started calling around and Bellhops also agreed to try and find a 3rd crew member (at their expense) to ease my concerns. In the end, we were out of luck - we were "stuck" with just MacKenzie (the GIRL!) and Erik. Long story short, we couldn't have been more pleased with those two! Erik was built like Popeye and MacKenzie had NO PROBLEM with any of the heavy lifting. More importantly, they were on time, polite, professional and they worked their tails off! They never once complained, nor did they want to take any breaks. It wasn't until the end of our time that I learned our move was Erik's 3rd of the day and MacKenzie's 2nd!!! Bellhop is an amazing moving experience. They unloaded my apartment in two and a half hours. You better be ready when they get there because they are *fast*. But, that old saying about "cheap, good and fast - pick 2" applies. They did not protect the corners of any of our wooden pieces (dressers, tables) adequately. One layer of cling film does nothing. If you would like to be scrambling last minute to find new movers, then booking with Bellhop might be a good idea. I don't normally trust 1 star reviews, but my review comes from having to scramble to find a new solution when they canceled my move on me with less than 5 days notice, when I had booked 40 days in advance. I booked my move on April 19th for a May 28th move. On May 23rd (5 days before my move) they call me and tell me they can no longer accommodate my move and I either need to push my move by 9 days or they would need to cancel. If you book with them and cancel after 48 hours of booking you pay 10% fee, but if they cancel leaving you stranded, they just 'apologize for the inconvenience.' The move ended up costing me substantially more than if I had booked with someone else in April as I Bellhop resulted in me scrambling last minute to make my move happen. They offered me no form of compensation for my trouble or effort. read more

We have to have the house empty by the July 31st the move was set up for July 30th... Total fraud. Avoid at all costs. From the initial contact, I should have suspected something was amiss. Lead mover stated he was basicallt expecting a cash tip or venmo, cashapp off the company's platform. As soon as he arrived, he started telling me what he could not do (assemble furniture) even though it was a service supposedly charged hourly. Then, I saw them sitting outside not moving anything for an extended period of time, but did not confront them so as to not be overbearing. Finally, got a text stating that they could not open the storage unit and therfore couldnt move anything. Did not look for a real solution. Now here's the kicker. The lead decided to fraudulently stay on the clock for at least 3 hours after leaving and wants me to pay for a full movs that never happened. They are trying to bill my credit card fraudently. I really wanted this move to go well and that's not what happened. Summarized, Bellhop's website is very misleading and their customer service is kind, but completely unable to followup or fix any issue. The movers themselves were absolutely amazing and kind and did everything they could to help me out, this has nothing to do with the guys that showed up. Bellhop's website suggests they have 6 different services that you can book, including Local Moving, Long-distance Moving, Hourly Labor, Packing Services, and so on. You can go to these services' pages and then click on "Book". This is extremely misleading, you are not booking that service at all - in fact there are only TWO services they offer - "Hourly Labor" and then a "Complete House Move" with no options in between, and it completely ignores what you were trying to book in the first place. In my case, I had gone to "Local Moving" - which shows a picture of a truck as its icon - and somehow Bellhop only sent me two guys for my move. No truck, no tools to disassemble furniture, no dollies, no furniture wraps, nothing. It was nothing like what they advertised on the Local Moving service page. It was a huge nightmare to handle, we had to go get a UHaul and I had to go buy tools (since all my stuff was packed). The movers helped me out a ton, but I had to call Bellhop 2-3 times about the huge let-down and they did absolutely nothing to help to fix their mistake. Five hours later, my stuff is finally moved after so many delays. Then I called them twice a day after that, to follow up on the issue to ask how they would reduce the price for their website error and not charge me 5 hours of time, since only 2-3 were actually used for moving. Over the next five days while I was calling them asking for updates, they never called me once, they never fixed anything, it was so frustrating. I asked them about when they would charge my card and the girl on the phone confirmed they would not charge me until my ticket was resolved, they wanted to make sure they charged me the correct amount of hours, well I was okay with that and like I said I kept calling for updates, since they never emailed or called me. Well, on the third day and after I had just hung up with a customer service person that they would absolutely not charge my card until the case was resolved, guess who ended up with a charge of their card more than 3 times my original quote? Yeah, I was not happy about that. It's now five days later and I've had to file a case with my credit card because Bellhop has refused to help in anyway. I would absolutely not work with this company. Use a company that has good customer service, that allows you to speak to people that are humans before you book, and that takes action when something goes wrong. This isn't that company. read more

We had a booking with bellhop movers that was booked and confirmed weeks in advance. The morning of the move, two movers show up with a truck. The third mover never shows, and so they are told by their boss that they can't do the move, they'll have to cancel, and someone will call me to reschedule 'for today or tomorrow.' No one called me, and 40 minutes on hold with customer service later, I'm told by a coordinator in a matter-of-fact tone that the earliest they can reschedule is a week later. All this when all of our boxes are packed and we have to be out of our house in 2 days. But somehow a $200 credit 'for the inconvenience' was going to make it better. Luckily we scrambled and were able to get a local moving company (Fat & Skinny Movers) to come the next day and take care of us. Bellhop is a national 'uber' style company which means they subcontract all their jobs and have no connection to the movers. Book them at your own risk. read more

This is a very unprofessional and horrible company as a whole. On the day my move was scheduled, the truck was late, the team that showed up was late, and one of the 3 movers never showed up. It took 40min for the unprofessional team lead with an attitude to confirm a replacement. None of this prevented the company from initially charging me for 3 people for the entire time though. The team lead refused to take direction regarding items that needed to be moved, how to load the truck, and then how to load into the storage unit where everything was going. It was very stressful and what needed to be completed was not done. At the end of the horrible experience I was on the phone with someone who insisted on doing a follow up to ensure everything was complete since the initial team did not fulfill expectations. I had declined the follow up at first, but the woman kept apologizing for my experience and saying things like "we want to make sure everything is moved." The second team was much better although the time they were given was an hour later than the time I had scheduled while on the phone. We spent an entire hour taking things out of the storage unit to reorganize so that everything fit since the team lead on day 1 refused to take direction and has obviously never won a game of Tetris. I was charged $343 for the follow up in addition to being charged $131 more than what I was quoted for the move. I did call customer service and billing and had a very long conversation with a lady named October. I was supposed to have received a callback 3 days ago and have yet to hear from anyone. I did end up getting refunded a little bit due to the late start, the tardy driver, being down a mover, etc. on the first day. I requested a refund for the follow up since it was presented as a way for the company to make a wrong right. She insisted on listening to the recorded conversation I had on the day of my move before continuing our conversation regarding my charges. I haven't heard anything from the company since. I would never use them again and I strongly urge others to use a better established company. read more

Told us we would have three movers- apparently that includes a driver who doesn't help at all. We ended up doing a huge portion of the work ourselves even though they said it would very easily only take them 3 hours to move a small amount of items from one location to the other. Because our moving team took way more time than expected, we entirely lost our reserved elevator space at the new building. Overall, I would give 0 stars if possible. I was very excited to find this service in Denver! I will admit I had a small move (home furniture) I needed to book within 24 hours. However, when I logged in to book it did say they were available, so I moved forward with booking. Come to 45 minutes before my requested move time I still had not heard anything from them in terms of confirming, needing to adjust the time or even needing to adjust the date! I reached out and they said they would be in contact IN A FEW HOURS with an update. I'm not in the position to sit around all day waiting for movers to maybe or maybe not show up. I had to cancel unfortunately, mostly due to the overall lack of communication. They charged a cancellation fee which I thought was a little ridiculous given they said they were available and then failed to even explain that they were not actually available. Both Michael and Matthew were amazing help. They assisted me in loading a pod 8x8x16. They were meticulous with how they approached packing it and even used a measuring tape to identify what size box or item was needed to ensure that the pod was packed efficiently. They communicated throughout the moving of furniture and on their next steps in packing, so I was up to date on their most current status. I would definitely use Bellhop again and recommend them to others needing a move. Moving is expensive and their price was average of the other moving companies in the area. I recently moved to Denver, CO. After looking around at different moving options, Bellhops appeared to be very innovative and modern in how they priced and handled their moves. I was attracted to the fact of being able to do everything online, have clear pricing, and help local college kids. I felt safer using this than I did some company on craigslist that would have been about the same price. 24 hours prior to my move I received an email with information about my "bellhops". On the day of the move I expected to hear from my movers at some point introducing themselves or communicating they were on their way. My reservation was at 6:00 PM MST. At 6:10 PM there were no movers and I started to get nervous. I looked around for information to reach out and ask where my movers were, but there is no way to contact Bellhops if it is after 8:00 PM EST (which it was at this point). They do not provide any phone number or email to get in touch directly with your Bellhops. Finally at 6:20 PM MST I received my first phone call from the Bellhop saying that they would be there in about 15 minutes. There was no explanation or reasoning on why, and by this point we had started moving stuff by ourselves. Since I had only reserved their service for one hour, I told them to not come and save us the money. So after making a reservation expecting help, we had to bust our backs with no movers or way to get ahold of movers asking where they were. I am a very patient and understanding person. If they were running late, that is fine, but communication by the Bellhops was awful. I contacted Bellhops company the next day and they said typical protocol is to hear from the movers before they leave, and keep me posted. We were left in the dark on the day of the move with no information what so ever until 20 minutes after our scheduled time. We are currently renting meaning that we will probably be moving in the next year or so, but sadly Bellhops will not be considered for our next move. I used Bellhops yesterday evening to move some heavy pieces of furniture. They arrived 15 minutes early and got all of the furniture moved MUCH quicker than anticipated (It took them 20 minutes compared to the anticipated hour). Since there is an hour minimum for their services, the movers stayed for an additional 40 minutes to help us load other pieces of furniture to our truck, and even packed everything for us. I was actually worried that they had taken on TOO much additional work, but they assured me that if they went over they would clock out at an hour and work for free to finish what they had started (they ended up getting it done in time, but still quite a commitment to make to ease my concerns). In the hour that we scheduled our Bellhops services, we got more than triple the amount of furniture moved (and packed) that we anticipated.
