In a town that primarily serves bagels and pizza (not that I am complaining in anyway), CU Latte is an incredibly welcome addition to fulfill the sweet tooth! The space is very light and airy, punctuated with the colorful chalkboards and bright lights, but looks to be fairly well-equipped with a comprehensive menu of sweet and savory crepes and a variety of coffee drinks. Since it was my first visit, I decided to play it safe and ordered routine favorites: a Nutella crepe with whipped cream and strawberries as well as a vanilla latte frappe. The crepe was terrific! Pleasantly warm and fluffy with the slightest crunch to the edges. The frappe did not disappoint either, and I was pretty pleased when the woman (presumably the owner) asked if I would like an espresso shot after I had already paid (although I declined for today). The only thing that I am docking a star for, and I'm being a little picky here, is the service. The owner(s?) was lovely to speak to and asked me lots of questions about my order as she was making it, but I wasn't greeted when I came in and had to make an effort to say hi to someone. It feels a little awkward to stand around and wait to be helped without knowing who is helping me. And I believe that as a new business, establishing a customer connection by actively welcoming patrons into the store and making recommendations without being asked to can be really rewarding. Hopefully my rating will turn into a full 5 stars by my next visit! Overall, I believe CU Latte has something really good here! Best coffee in Bergen County is not just in my town, it's pretty cheap! Amazing organic espresso. $3 for medium americano,$4 for large. So delicious. Btw I'm a coffee snob. Only drink it black. The matcha powder is legit. Hot chocolate is cheap, too. Haven't tried it tho bc I'm addicted to the espresso. Crepes are nothing special, but we're in the burbs. Just revisited this newly opened coffee house. Serving single origin's, crepes, Balthazar pastries and frappes (near the local school). The owner is really knowledgeable and aims to please. I ordered cappuccino and he proactively asked 'wet or dry?' and served it as directed. From the look of the the kids' frapps, they will be happy campers. read more

Just needed somewhere to stop for breakfast. Choose based on previous reviews. Not a huge crepe fan, but they seemed to have a few other breakfast options. Found street parking right in front of restaurant. Small restaurant but they have done a great job maximizing seating without crowding the space. Front window bar seating, 3 bistro tables and a small lounge area for 5. Super cute. I allowed the young man talking orders to select my food. Caramel macchiato and a chicken pesto pannini. Ok, not what I would pick for breakfast, but I asked for his suggestion. They had me at the first sip! The coffee was absolute perfection. This coming from the coffee snob that I've grown to be. Perfectly steamed, not to sweet, just perfect. The sandwich was equally great. Flavorful, crispy on the outside yet moist inside. I highly recommend the sweet crepes - they're pricey (in general, not comparatively. buying crepes is always expensive) but they're yummy. Small shop, they make great coffee and are very friendly, there's a small amount of seating both indoors and out. They make crepes and some baked goods in house, other baked goods are delivered from Balthazar (which in my opinion is great). Crepe: custom egg/turkey/cheese/spinach/peppers. I am not a connoisseur of crepes, I don't pretend to be. I will say that the crepes were thin, but fluffy on the inside, crispy outside. This is my favorite place to get coffee in the area. I'm not a Starbucks or DD fan, so CU Latte definitely helps me get my coffee fix. The staff is always so friendly, and I find the atmosphere to be a nice place to sit and meet up with friends. They have a lot of milk options for drinks which is nice, and if you get your order to stay it comes with a little almond cookie! To be honest I haven't tried any of their crepes or sandwiches, but everything always looks really yummy.
