Another local café in the books! Early Bird Coffee is tucked away in a small plaza in Cresskill, NJ. It has the perfect atmosphere to work in. There's wifi, outlets, and plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of plants and natural lighting, creating a cozy and calm aura. I was able to stay here for a few hours doing work and sipping on my drinks. In addition to drinks, they also sell pastries and sandwiches. It was my first time here and the employee was very helpful and welcoming. I ordered: Matcha Cucumber ($7) - I'm a matcha lover and this drink did it justice. It reminds me of a mojito with a slightly earthy aftertaste. Good choice for those who want something refreshing that isn't sweet. Cold Brew ($5) - An okay drink, it wasn't the best I've had. It wasn't as smooth and sweet. I really wish they could stay open for a bit later, maybe until 5 or 6 pm. Next time I'll try their food and more of their matcha drinks! read more

Coffee is great. There is outdoor seating and parking. The place is cozy and looks like a popular spot with students studying for exam. I also like that they had a community board with information about a local camp and other small businesses. The reason for the low rating was service. I asked if they had anything gluten free and was no. I tried to see if there are other things I could have and the person at the register seemed annoyed. I asked for napkins, I got a look. I came here on a Sunday afternoon to work. It's a small place, so there are not many tables, but they have WiFi and outlets. The cafe is covered in real plants. The servers were kind and friendly and you could tell the barista was passionate about the art of coffee. The food and drinks were great: * Matcha Yuzu - 10/10 - The matcha flavor is not strong and earthy, so it's perfect for non matcha lovers. The yuzu syrup adds a nice brightness of flavor, and the addition of the sparkling water makes the drink extra refreshing. I saw the barista hand whip the matcha too. * Cortado - 8/10 - I'm not a coffee drinker, so take this review with a grain of salt. This drink is pretty strong since it's equal parts espresso and milk, but I liked the flavor of the beans. * Chocolate Croissant - 8.5/10 - The pastry was buttery, flakey and light. I wish there was a bit more chocolate tho because only 1/3 of the bites had chocolate. Overall, I would definitely come again for the vibes and food. I enjoyed my pumpkin spice coffee from here! It is decorated so nicely and the staff was very pleasant! Personal opinion : it is quite expensive for a single cup of coffee. My latte was $6 and that's with regular milk and a small size. My sisters matcha $6.13. Again personal opinion so not sure if this would ever be a daily or weekly spot for me personally . It's a great neighborhood spot with a nice big parking lot. The person behind the counter was named Carlos he was great, he was super friendly and welcoming. I asked him about the display case and he mentioned they make their pastries daily. The food: Matcha Cucumber- I am not the biggest coffee person because it makes me jittery so I asked if I should get the matcha lemonade or the matcha cucumber? He said you should get the matcha cucumber, omg it really reminded me of drinking a virgin mojito. It was so refreshing and not too sweet. Omgggg the prosciutto Sando was just made to perfection!! The ciabatta was crunchy and the mozzarella with the olives just complimented each other so well. First time going after looking for a spot to do some homework and get a latte and bite! Ample seating and very nice ambiance. Carlos was working (alone!) and it was pretty busy, lots of seats taken and my food and drink came out very fast and delicious! Really good customer service. Loved that the warm drinks and food came on these ceramic plates and cups. The tumeric latte was exactly what I needed and the egg sando on croissant was sooo yummy.
