Well, today I have to go to see my primary Doctor. I felt bad on Monday this week... it was a freaky vertigo thing and at the end of my appointment ... the weather was beautiful, so I walked and then nearby pass for this new spot ( for me): Cafe Trois.... Oh, my!!! Kitchen was closed at 2 PM but they have a few things on the "grab and go" cabinet so I decided to get a Honey nut squash Apple Vinegar Salad with a Cappuccino...and also I took a Baguette, an Orange Almond Brioche and one more thing that I can't remember ( now I know: Cranberry pecan pastry ) to go...yummiiieee Everything seems to had fantastic flavors, texture and had cool colors My salad and the coffee were really great. The salad had chicken breast, which was perfectly cooked, and the vinegar dressing was a perfect combination. The cappuccino was so good The place had average noise; was very clean, Wi-Fi free to the customers and I saw two bathrooms ( one is for handicapped). No pets allowed. Customer Service was OK. Went into this French-themed patisserie with high expectations but left tres desole. My choice of a fresh croissant was dashed when I learned at the counter that they do not offer any raspberry jam to accompany it. Obviously the owner has never been to France. read more

I came here maybe two weeks ago? - was writing the review when I was still in the shop but forgot to post: Food is good - generous portions on salmon omelette plate Cashier has an attitude and is too sarcastic for 7:30am I asked about the bread that came with it - and she states "well, if it says it comes with bread, then it comes with bread"...not realizing that I just wanted to ask what KIND of bread. I usually stop here for a croquette before heading into work, especially when hunger settles in as I'm driving. Their pastries are all fresh and delicious. I don't usually get coffee because they have free coffee at work, but their coffee was really smooth and bold just how I like it. Really good cup of coffee!!! Worth the cost!! Hopefully it stays consistent when I try it again. read more

This cafe is bigger than it appeared. It's got a cute Parisian cafe aesthetic with ample cafe table seating and booth seating. I got their croque madame plate which was a filling sandwich with a bright and refreshing side of salad greens. Our friend ordered an omelette with a side of bacon. His food came with a few miniscule cubes of bacon in the omelette and when it was brought to the waitstaff's attention, they assured that that's the extra bacon he ordered. After a minute or two of back and forth, they finally relented and came back with two strips of bacon on the side, the way it was originally ordered. Other than that hiccup, I thought the floors were not very well maintained for a very slippery snowy day. They should have mopped up between the rushes. The caneles we got as a dessert were overbaked and tough. The Madeleine cookies were ginormous but lacked buttery or sweetness in flavor. It's too bad that for a French-style bakery, their baked goods left a lot to be desired. read more

I really enjoy the pastries and coffee at cafe trios. The bakery items is some of the best in town. They have many flavors, I'm a little surprised they don't have pumpkin or other fall flavors for this time of year. I highly recommend the green tea and chocolate croissants. They have unique vegetarian sandwiches. All the coffees taste the same whether it's a latte, cappuccino or regular coffee with milk but it's decent coffee. Is Cafe Trois your average cafe or something more? At the base of numerous chain restaurants stands a small but inviting glass door that opens to Cafe Trois. At first glance, I felt somewhat of a homey sort of vibe in this establishment; everyone was sitting in their seats, talking, while the layout gave the place a nice energy to it. My sister and I realised no servers were going to tell us where to sit, so we walked around, seeing stacked shelves filled with foods, pastries, sandwiches, drinks, and plates for serving. I understood the message; this part was self-serve, so I got myself a plate and picked out some foods that looked the most appetizing. I got an Olive bread, a chocolate sufiyaniot, and a lemonade. I paid for those, and then I got an order of French toast to share with my sister. The employee was friendly, she assisted me with my needs with no hesitation or any hostility. The energy wasn't loud, but it was friendly, an environment where people sipped their lattes while catching up with some old friends over brunch. While looking around, from what I could tell, everyone was enjoying their food, and I saw not a single complaint so far from a customer. My sister and I sat down at a two-person table, which was pretty clean, with no crumbs or stickiness on the table or chairs. We sat down and talked, enjoying the energy surrounding us. The chairs were inviting, allowing me to relax once sitting, even if they were made out of wood and wood alone. We waited for the French toast while munching on our appetizers and side meals. It took a while, so I started looking around, noting my findings. The entire restaurant was quite clean. Once a table was left, the customers got a fellow goodbye, and an employee would immediately go to clean the table. Even if no noticeable mess was left. The floors were spotless, tables were clean, chairs were organized, and yet, it didn't look suffocatingly clean; it looked pristine yet homey. After a while, we got the French toast, I noticed the server merely dropping off the food with a curt nod and leaving to attend to a different table. When the server dropped off our food, I didn't feel any hostility or rudeness. I just saw a worker trying to be efficient in their movements, which I respected. I did not mind; I prefer it when a server just drops off the food, it's more efficient that way and also makes me have to talk less. The food looked appealing to the eye, its plating was neat and welcoming, inviting us to take the first bites. Before my mind thought about taste, I thought the texture was soggy and somewhat sponge-like. And not in the way French toast should taste, no, its taste was also overloaded with cinnamon and soaked with egg to the point it made me nauseous, it felt like eating an eggy sponge covered in cinnamon. I swallowed my first bite, already regretting it and letting my sister have the rest, which she did not eat. Once we both finished our food, we asked for a to-go box for our leftovers, which we wanted to share with our brother. A nice staff member gave it to us and offered us help. Although we respectfully declined, it was a nice gesture that I do not see too often in many restaurants. We finished up our notes, which we took individually, and wrapped up our food. At Cafe Trois, you pay at the beginning, allowing you to leave whenever you see fit, so it allowed us the privilege of leaving whenever we deemed fit. I did notice they had many payment options, and even allowed someone to pay half card and half cash, an option I didn't need. I noticed people in front of me using this since they were short on cash and whatnot. We paid swiftly at the beginning, which we used to our advantage to leave. We took our leftover food and my to-go lemonade, which I had previously ordered at the start, and headed to leave. While paying the bill, I had noticed some items were priced lower than I initially assumed. I paid under the money given to us for my entire meal, drinks, and tips included. I did not expect this. The energy of this entire establishment is expensive since most of the pastries look pristine and classy. But the price of most dishes made complete sense, which caught me off guard. I fully thought when I walked in that I would pay more than I wanted to, but I was quick to realize that was not going to happen. I paid 13 dollars total, including my tip, which was less than I thought it would be, going off the energy at this establishment; it was modern but with a classy touch, making me (at first) feel as though I would end up spending a lot of money. Overall, if I were to rate my experience at Cafe Trois, it would be around an 8 out of 10. I enjoyed the energy and setup of the establishment, it was quite welcoming and inviting. It was all pretty clean and pristine, nothing out of order, and everything was stocked. Not that they give it much fanfare. It's just sitting in the pastry case along with all the delicacies, minding its little laminated business. But don't let that nonchalance, that unassuming air, fool you. No, and do not let yourself be distracted by those other sweet treats as you deftly pluck one of these by its neatly pleated paper shell with your tiny tongs. Be gentle! Your time and care will pay off... ... because I'm talking, of course, about the cranberry and pecan bun made from butter pastry and dotted with dollops of custard infused with the saintly scent of, yes - yes! - nutmeg. We came in on a Saturday around 11am. Although there was a line, many customers were taking their food to go. Most of the tables were filled, but we thankfully found a free one for ourselves. The line moved relatively quickly for checkout. It's self-serve for the pastries, so you need to grab a tray, put a layer of parchment paper, and use tongs to grab your items. Just like the other locations, once an item is sold out for the day, it's sold out! More conveniently, the pastries and sandwich section are located right next to where you need to line up, so you can grab things as the line moves. We got a fig and brie mini croissant sandwich, crème brûlée donut, croissant, and an egg tart to share. I got a hot taro latte for myself. They were able honor my request for less taro powder in the drink, which I appreciated. I prefer my drinks more milky and subtle. My partner got the hot Thai tea. He said it was good! I tried it and agreed. Almost all the items taste similar to the original location's in Northvale, which means they're good! My partner did feel that the crème brûlée donut was slightly worse though. However, it looks like this location is still on the new side, so with time, this can be corrected. Something my partner also wanted to note was that their egg tart is very eggy. I like this, but he does not. Something to consider if you are particular with your egg tarts! Something I noticed too is that they offer a larger drink selection compared to the Northvale location's. It looked like a lot of fruit related drinks, which seems nice for those who don't like tea or coffee. I did feel that it was a bit unclean though. I had to wipe down a table myself, and the tongs and tray I used did have a sticky feeling to them. Again, this can be hopefully be fixed as they get through the rush of opening a new location. All of the workers did seem to know what they're doing, so they were fast and efficient. Finally, I'm not sure if there's a designated parking lot as I do not come to the area very often. We street parked, but it was thankfully pretty easy to do so. Walking past all of the shops is fun to get here is fun too. I don't know how often I can return to this Cafe Trois, but it's nice to see them doing well and continuing to expand. read more

Have been coming here since they opened and have yet to be disappointed ! I've ate my way through most of the pastries, cafe offerings, and as a chai snob, their dirty chais have become somewhat of an addiction for me. I've gotten their strawberry shortcake, earl grey cake & apple tart, all for special occasions and every consensus being they are absolutely scrumptious. You can taste the quality in all of their cakes and pastries and the eclectic flavors are the perfect offerings for any occasion. I've yet to get to the other locations, but the staff in tenafly is so friendly and attentive, they are the cherry on top of the entire experience. read more
