The space is surprisingly large with plenty of seating--great for dates, friends, or families. We waited about 15 minutes around 10:30 AM, which wasn't bad at all for a busy weekend. Ladies and gentlemen, I found a G.E.M. in Cresskill, NJ! Cafe Weekend, previously Cafe Rx, will make an impact, the moment that you enter. It has high ceilings, plenty of tables, bright lighting, a quiet ambiance, gorgeous decorations, meticulous restrooms, exemplary service, and amazing food/beverages. First of all, the menu has photos, down to every single item when creating your own Omelette. Also, we were given water immediately upon being escorted to our table (those two items alone is starting my review at 4 Yelp stars). Lastly, Andrew was an outstanding Server. He explained our many questions and gave much appreciated recommendations. Their entire staff tended to us with such great care and professionalism. I noticed, that there is no hurry for customers to finish their orders at their tables. Some were doing schoolwork, some were on laptops, and others were conversing for the entire duration that we were there. My beverage was the "Weekend Iced Latte." Not only was it deliciously sweet, but it came with a hard plastic stirrer, which made it much easier to mix the ingredients and not use the straw. I have never seen this nice touch at any other cafe. Much appreciated. The entrees were: Caprese Salad (fresh mozzarella, tomato, arugula, balsamic pesto dressing, truffle glaze) . This salad was very good. The balsamic glaze added the perfect sweetness to the fresh ingredients and it was filling. The other entree was the Blueberry Pancakes. Not only was I told that these were the best blueberry pancakes they've enjoyed, but maple syrup was not necessary. The house made blueberry compote was enough to enjoy every bite. For dessert, I had the Matcha Basque Cheesecake and it was heavenly. This was my first time enjoying this type of cheesecake and it did not disappoint. The Matcha was not overpowering. Cafe Weekend Makes you feel relaxed as if weekend !!! The menu has been slightly updated, and the Toowoomba Toast has changed to Toowoomba Dip ($18.95). It is still very good !!!! Creamy sauce with mushrooms, shrimps, and bacon !!!! The sliced toast that comes along is nicely grilled for the dip. Smoked salmon toast came on a soft thick sliced sourdough and the toast was very good. I am not a big fan of smoked salmon but my friend loved it. The service is impeccable which is why it is worth the visit. We finished the focaccia for the Toowoomba dip and asked for more, and so it was delivered. Large open space that looks like a cross between a library and the tea party in Alice in Wonderland feels very warm and cozy. Very cute new restaurant with very bright and clean decor, loved the ambiance and relaxing vibe. No reservation and lots of room to accommodate a decent size group. Food- We had 4 dishes - the omelette was very fresh with nice presentation, the potatoes were undercooked and too hard to eat, definitely need to cook longer and possibly cut a little smaller. We did not complain or ask for replacement. The seafood salad was 10/10. The waffle and chicken was excellent and a great starter to share with the table. The desserts, Croffles, were amazing. Can't wait to try multiple versions. Coffee was perfect. Service Servers were patient, some much more pleasant than others. Maybe a little more thought on the dress code for servers while staying in touch with their work and wage. A cute apron with the theme Color could be cute and helpful to carry needed items. This is my first time coming here since it changed ownership, and I really liked everything. From the first bite, I really enjoyed my meal; the coffee was incredibly delicious. I almost finished my entire plate, and it was quite a portion. Lately, I like to eat something sweet after salty meals. I decided to get two macaroons. They were large enough for me. Food was excellent. I thought they used very high-quality ingredients, and everything was freshly made. I ordered : - Croque Madame (egg, ham, bechamel on a sourdough); Arugula salad and home-style potatoes on the side. - Hot Americano coffee - 2 macaroons : one matcha and one chocolate I think the prices are fair. The decor is very cozy. Everything is clean and tidy. It's not too noisy. Today was a Monday; 12 noon in October. The service and food are all delicious! I've tried several of the lattes and they were all too sweet for me so I'll probably avoid them next time. As for food, the smoked salmon sandwich was the best I've had and I think about it often. It was so yummy I couldn't wait to try their other items. The pancakes were nice and fluffy but had a slight bitter quality. I loved the crisp texture of them. The turkey bacon was yummy and not too salty. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu! The ambiance is very cute and airy. It's also very relaxed and casual. It's a place where I imagine I'd be able to get work or studying done or just relax and read. The ambience and decor is super cute, fresh and inviting - Greece inspire. The space is huge and neatly kept. Located at the border of Cresskill and Tenafly. We got a table to sit down immediately. FOOD ORDERED: *BTW all served with roasted potatoes and arugula salad which was made to perfection* Caprese Sandwich: 2 of my friends ordered this and they LOVED it. One of them actually traveled to Italy and frequently ordered this sandwich at Italy. She states this is better than Italy. So much flavor! Toowoomba Panini: this was mine and wow, I've never tasted anything like it. My friend tried and said the same thing. Really didn't know what to expect in flavor and for sure never had Toowoomba sauce but when googling it, it sounded pretty darn delicious! It is a heavy cream based sauce for my lactose intolerant pals out there but those willing to take the risk - it is worth it! Bread was toasted to perfection and it wasn't bread that cut the top of your mouth. The shrimp was soft and easy to chew and everything together really complimented each other. Drop the Egg - my friend states she likes the bread, likes the egg, likes the bacon, likes the arugula, and likes the potatoes. No complaints! Solid choice DRINKS: Grapefruitade - loved it. Refreshing and is carbonated! Honey Citronnade- mine and so refreshing. There are little citrons on the bottom if you're not familiar with honey citron tea. This was carbonated as well which I wasn't opposed to! Pink Lemonade - delicious! However I did hear one of my friends say it's very sweet. Another carbonated drink! My iced matcha was okay, but nothing to be excited for. Food portions are large, if you like leftovers. The taste was bland, and the pancakes fell short for me. The food is okay, like the pancakes are nice but the the French toast was not, it was really bad. The prices are pretty good so I will give them that. The service is pretty bad, I order a drink and it came after the mains, this has happened multiple times. Also every time I get drink with Vanilla syrup, I can lowkey never taste it. One time I asked the server about it, and that was the only time I tasted the syrup. Also one time I ordered bacon on the side and it came after my mains came and I was halfway done out them. It was my 2nd time going with my young daughter and we ordered the same thing we got the first time which we were happy with so we came back hungry ready to enjoy a round 2 BUT to our surprise , the service & food was bad , we were barely attended to and had to keep asking for service , it didn't seem so busy or understaffed to use that as excuse, it seemed like more of an issue in the comfort level of the staff doing the least. My waffles were served visibly burnt & hard and it was hard to eat but I managed to eat around since I was starving , the chicken was suspect and I'm not even sure if it was all chicken. When I pointed this out to server , I told her it wasn't about the $, but I was truly unhappy with the quality of food And I couldn't eat it. The only thing she offered to do was tell the cook, but there was no percentage taken off the meal , even tho she could visably see I was unable to eat it due to the quality. I paid for the meal in full but did not feel comfortable leaving a tip due to both poor service , a meal I couldn't eat or enjoy, and lack of an effort to rectify the problem. This place used to be a cafe-cum-pharmacy, which was odd, and now it seems to be a cafe-cum-restaurant. It's definitely not set up for grab-and-go. As soon as you walk in, there's a sign telling you to wait to be seated. There's no host station, but someone hailed me from behind the counter. And that counter is odd. In the display cases, there were a few cheesecakes and some trays of factory-made macarons. As it was morning, I asked if there was any breakfast pastry. Well, not in the cases, but they had croissants. Where were they? In the back. Were they freshly baked? Apparently not. I don't think this place is going to last. Serving sit-down meals to the breakfast crowd may be a decent business model for a diner, but for me a cafe should be serving grab-and-go coffee and pastries in the morning as well. Maybe it's all part of the plan. The name and slogan suggest they want every day to feel like the weekend. Well, presto, I think they're primarily going serve folks who never have to go to work. My first review! Very aesthetic and spacious interior. Clean and warm environment and honestly one of the nicest looking cafes I have been inside of. Ample space for large or small parties and staff is always ready to serve and super friendly. Food wise, you can never go wrong with their specials. As we completed a nice hike nearby - we stopped here for lunch - the restaurant set up is really nice - spacious and airy Food was fresh, generous in its portions and very flavorful. We got the toowanda shrimp panini and the avocado toast - both delish! I would have rated the place a five but the waiter service was not great - we had to flag the waitress down to take our order when I noticed a family who was seated after us got their order taken first. There was no offer to refill our water throughout our meal. The waitress gave us incorrect information when we asked about the toowanda sauce - 1 she was unable to describe what the sauce was made of, 2 she didn't know that the shrimp was cooked in the sauce when we asked for the sauce to be on side - she checked with the kitchen and indicated that the sauce could be placed on the side. The dish came out with the shrimp on a separate bowl instead of being inside the panini bread) Note through the shrimp was wonderful despite the miscommunication I would definitely go back to try something else on the menu read more

Friendly and attentive service, well staffed on the floor. The beverages were good, had a hot matcha latte. Negatives: The food just didn't hit the mark. Ordered a croque madame and it wasn't hot, more of an unpleasant room temperature. I've had this same dish at many other restaurants and can appreciate different renditions and takes on it but this was unfortunately not appetizing, I couldn't eat much of it. Husband had the salmon sandwich and while he was able to finish the meal, he mentioned it was pretty bland. Both of our dishes came with potatoes and that was probably the best part of the dish. While I mentioned that the service was positive, they could do a better job in asking how the orders were and obtain feedback. I HIGHLY recommend it, the taro and matcha are very pure in flavor. for food we got the nutella banana french toast, berry french toast, 3 eggs your way, the egg drop sandwich and the shashuka. the berry french toast wasn't too sweet which i really enjoyed & recommend. the nutella banana french toast, 3 eggs your way and the egg drop sandwich were good but nothing too special (although the potatoes that come with the eggs were really good). the sandwich also came with an argula sandwich was a nice touch. i really liked the shashuka , i wish that they gave more than 2 slices of bread though as the portion for the shashuka was a lot and wished they added more jalapenos, but now i know for next time!! overall, if you live in the area, i can see this place being the next "it" diner/cafe and recommend you trying it out! unfortunately i live too far but it was nice to try and know that this place exists ! read more
