I have to go back to look around again. Overwhelmed is a good word to describe my first visit. There are dozens of bean choices for pour over and we went with Havana, hot for myself, cold for my wife. The cold came from a coffee pot in the fridge. For hot, the beans were ground by a machine in front of us. For whole beans the prices start at $16/lb and go up from there. This is one of the best hidden gems my friend and I have discovered. Sadly, Jose only has this shop open from Thurs-Sat 8:30am to about 10 min to 6pm according to him. We asked for a cup of coffee and he asked which blend. We picked the NYC blend which boasts dark roast low acid. As we anxiously waited for our cup of Joe, we watched the master at work. Measuring beans on his crazy scale contraption, grinding the beans for each cup and steeping milk at the perfect temperature. All this work for a cup of coffee and he charges us $2! A great variety of whole beans is available at $7 for 1/2lb and $12.99 for 1lb with the Havana blend and NYC blend being the most popular. Loose tea leaves are also available for the non-coffee drinkers. read more

The man who works here is really nice and helpful. They have a large variety of teas and coffee beans. The Barista will help you choose the bean and the grind or make you a cup. I have never had a bad experience here and always enjoy stopping in to have a cup of coffee. 3 lbs of coffee and Im excited to try them all. I really like the coffee here. read more

Small coffee store in downtown dumont. It's not a cafe, they sell coffee beans and freshly brewed coffee. Have a little corner table for people to seat. but it's not for seating and lounging to spend sweet time. When I walked in, I saw the wall was filled with various coffees and teas. And I also saw small amount of antique to sell. Jose who works there and sells coffee greeted us with a big smile. I tried NY city blend, dark roast with low acids. Jose grinds coffee bean fresh and he hand dripped my coffee. It was one of the best coffee I've ever tasted. I loved the aroma and taste. He said he grinds coffee each time he brews. No pre-brewed coffee here and your cup of coffee will be fresh each time. I bought coffee beans they sell there. Jose measured coffee beans with old measuring scale and did everything analog style. It was kinda nostalgic. We are so used to with fast pace and automatic stuff. This small coffee store reminded me that I forgot how to be 'slow'. Little piece of analog in the sea of automatic era. If you go there, you will find Jose who will give you a big smile and delicious coffee. It's not like modern dunkin donuts or fancy Starbucks style, but you will find little charm there. read more

After reading numerous great reviews I was eagerly awaiting the moment when I could finally savor that delicious cup of coffee everyone raved about. I attempted this place numerous times and to my disappointment it was always closed (yes even Thurs-Sunday. They were on vaca, or I got there around 4:45pm (too late I guess). Finally just last Friday I had a chance to drive by again and they were actually OPEN! The gentleman that served me (not the owner), was very kind and sweet. I hate to say this.... But the cappuccino ordered was just OK. I am sorry, again, because I hate to knock small businesses, especially those that are located in my hometown. For me, everything about a good cap is the foam!!!! The size was amazing, but the foam was the same that I get out of my nespresso machine at home... Seriously! Needless to say, I was and still am very disappointed!!! I was really hoping that this would be my go to cappuccino place but it left me questioning what the other reviewers were really thinking when they left those amazing reviews. Cherish the oddities of Bergen county cause so so much is cookie cutter. Sweet spot for coffee tea and iced coffee. No fancies but seem like they take their product seriously. I like that they had two kinds of iced coffee avail flavored and strong Havana. Proprietor modded appreciatively when I said no milk! read more

A hidden gem of North Jersey! If u crave quality coffee and don't feel like going to the city, give this place a try. From the outside you may not think great coffee but step inside. Jose will great you with a smile and offer fine tea and quality coffee made by the cup. Beans are grinded per order and coffee is fresh. A small sitting and standing area is available. The shop is across from a DD for irony and direction.. Give it a try. Credit only.. No cash. Weird for a shop this size but what can u do? Many types of coffee to choose from. Flavored, dark, medium and Jose will recommend something amazing if you're on the fence. I was pleasantly surprised with a great cup of Joe. I came back the same day for another cup in the afternoon. Conveniently located across the street from DD, this little gen of a coffee/tea house is where serious coffee/tea drinkers go. It's also the only place that I've found in Bergen County where you can get the widest variety of coffees freshly ground by filter type. They offer authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain (not a blend), tons of flavored beans but I'm a big fan of the Havana Cuban and (when they have it) Costa Rican dark roast. They also offer a wide variety of fresh spices. They recently reduced store hours - now only open to the public 3 days a week (Thurs, Fri and Sat) but they do have mail order. Sadly, my Havana dark roast cappuccino must now wait for the weekend. read more

This is tiny gem is instantly my go-to when I am in town during their limited opening hours. Jose is the best! He customizes each coffee depending on what you're in the mood for and I never left this place unsatisfied. My favorites are coco mocha with peppermint, hazelnut and Havana roast. read more

A coffee lover's candy store. Literally. I'm not joking. I stepped into that place, it's totally charming with its vintage decor and when you see all the different coffees and how cute they are, it's unreal. Willy Wonka's Candyman Song started playing in my head when the gentleman said I could mixed different coffee beans together. I'm still speechless and enjoying my Havana Roast with Hazelnut coffee and it's pretty bomb. You guys, this place is awesome. This hole-in-the-wall is NO STARBUCKS, nor is it as franchised as the DD right across the street. However, their iced hazelnut and iced moroccan teas beckon me to drag my double stroller in at least once a week to this unassuming shop. The contents of the store is sporadic and frenetic. The utter disorder is the equivalent of a of a tea/coffee shop Fairway. They probably carry every tea/coffee accessory if you ask. Hand scrawled signs adorn each section of chocolate-dipped lentils, which may be right next to some individual servings of Horizon milk, or vegan cookies. You get the feeling that this space was once either an old fashioned soda shop, or a bordello (dunno, the maroon curtain separating the front seating area is barely suggestive of the latter). I have yet to see any patrons, which is a good thing, since my kiddies take up a lot of room while I order. There is "space" for about 8 patrons to enjoy their beverages. Sure, you can brew your own and steep your own, but somehow, it just tastes better here. Is it the hollow ice they use (shaped like a short ziti?) Perhaps it is the friendliness of the one guy that is always there. Whatever it is, I am a fan. read more

From the outside you would probably not pay much mind to it or think it's something else, but this coffee shop is truly great. Such a variety of coffee beans, teas, and sweet treats. It's a really organized cute shop, kind of gives off a vintage vibe. Definitely check it out! read more
